My wife and I were blown away by Brubaker Inc. We had Brubaker install a kitchen island for us. We have a home built in 1890 so renovations are always tricky. Our salesman/designer/magician (whatever his title!), Andrew, was magnificent. He used a computer aided design program to map out our kitchen and offer 3-D detailed drawings of his proposed ideas. Once we selected the idea we liked, Andrew developed a proposal and a schedule to complete the work. Then Brubaker, Inc. came in and got it done! The island is wonderful; the overall design is wonderful; the flow of the room and "workability" of the design is wonderful; the men they sent to do the work were skilled, competent, courteous and, yes, also wonderful. It was a great experience start to finish. We absolutely love our Brubaker Inc., kitchen island. Thanks Andrew! Thanks Brubaker Inc.

As soon as I walked through the door Roy was all about what I needed and what we were looking for in a new refrigerator. He explained the models well and was up to date and current on Consumer Reports ratings and directed me to the model that met our needs in price range we wanted. Called Brubaker to come out and fix a pluming stoppage. The receptionist was very nice and helpful. They came out within 2 hours after calling. The technician, Chris, was very nice. My drain had to have a motorized auger placed in to unjam the clog. All in all he was here for less than a half and hour. However, I was shocked when the bill came to $357 just too unclog a drain!! He said he'd give me a $50 coupon off, so it came to $307. And that was suppose to make me feel better. Wow! You be the judge. **UPDATE: Brubaker Inc. promptly contacted me and offered a resolution to the situation. Rarely do I ever post anything public unless I first contact the company. I wasn't sure whether this post was seen by only the company or others, but nonetheless, I was satisfied with their resolution. I changed the rating from a 2 star to a 3. Thank you.

Brubakers (Roherstown Rd) Saved the day! Receptionists Beth & Amanda were Calming & Accommodated me by placing on already full schedule for I had NO WATER! They said Chris would give heads up when finished up w/ previous job & alert on way to my problems. Christopher D & his apprentice arrived exactly when said ETA. Both put on protection courtesy booties before entering the home. Within minutes of examining my Softener then, the Well Machine, Chris went out to clean impressive Brubaker’s truck & returned w/ the necessary part. Apprentice was very polite, addressing me as “Ma’am”, in his correspondences w/ me when delivering instructions to not turn any faucets/toilets on. When I heard water flowing, it was such a wonderful RELIEF! Chris D knew exactly what he was doing & had professional sense of urgency about him. He informed me of total condition afterwards in simple terms I could comprehend. He was assertive, yet non pressuring toward me. Polite, Professional & Performance all A+++ for Chris Decker. Brubaker’s- You’ve got a TOP Performer in him! Keep him at all costs, PLEASE!

Fool me once shame on you; Fool me twice shame on me. Brubaker's plumbing service unclogged my home sewer line for $528 (once a fool). When I had the same problem again, I asked for a quote ...$528 again. Called another company and they charged me $192. Brubaker's shame on you. Don't be a fool get a quote from someone else.

I called Brubaker because of a flooded basement due to a clogged drain. They sent a plumber named Andrew within a few hrs of my call. I explained what was going on. He listened & then went on to explain to me what may be the cause of the problem. Being a new home owner, I had alot of questions, he patiently explained everything in detail to me. He was neat, very polite & very friendly. Within an hour, my problem was fixed. I am very happy I called Brubaker. I will definately continue to use them in the future if any problem arises...

Total ripoff. Tenant called to inquire about clogged drain. Spoke with me the owner and I instructed brain surgeon where to locate clog. I was told they need to scope with camera. I told him for the 2nd time where the clog was located. He insisted on camera but was then told also need a pump truck at some exorbitant amount per hour. I then instructed him over the phone to pack up and go. I contracted with a reputable plumber that listened to our instructions as to where the clog was located. They immediately brought out a jet vac and fixed the clog at a cost of 425.00. Their bill was 519.00 for camera alone, without a fix. SHAME ON YOU Brubaker INC Total Clowns

I purchased kitchen appliances from Brubaker and would not recommend them for such purchases. My first impression was very good, very helpful and made the purchase seem easy. However, my contractors had a very difficult time with them on fitting on microwave in a built-in counter top. When my stove was first delivered it was electric not gas. The second time they delivered my gas stove they did not use the conversion kit for propane therefore it ruined all my pots and pans by leaving them black and tarnished with a nasty residue. After complaining about the stove (which also was covered in a black residue) they did replace my stove however I did have about $600 in pots and pans that are ruined. They offered to try and clean them, however, I have tried every product out there and nothing seems to get the black residue off and it's inconvenient to take my pots and pans down there for them to have the same outcome. The whole process was a bit ridiculous. I recommend going elsewhere. UPDATE AS OF AUGUST 31, 2018: The owner of Brubaker's called me and offered me a resolution in my issues.

For the last 4 years we have been fighting with Brubaker, Inc to do right by their customer and their products and have had no luck at all. In February of 2015 we bought a new indoor and outdoor heating and cooling system from Brubaker at Approx $8,000. 2 weeks after install our basement was completely flooded due to improper installation of the humidifier. We spent months having our basement restored due to their error but we were appreciative that their insurance covered the cost to fix their error. In July of 2015, less then 5 months after installation, the unit completely quit working when it was switched to air conditioning. We called and talk to Rich, the hvac manager, and expressed our concern. He just said that this sort of thing happens with this kind of equipment. At that time he pointed out that the model and brand we were sold is not one they are carrying anymore because of its problems. I was extremely upset and asked why that unit was recommended to us to which he did not have an answer. The following year in November. The unit quit working again and we have had to fight every single time it breaks down to have them repair it and the same thing has happened year and year since then. The unit we were sold is junk. Even when working to full capacity it does not properly heat or cool our home. It is constantly breaking down and Brubaker simply does not care. Fast forward to a month ago... we were going out to lunch with our family and turned our unit on because it was getting warm outside. We came home from lunch and the house was 96 degrees. Our dog was laying down and drooling like crazy. We immediately opened all of the windows and realized that yet again our AC was blowing hot air through the vents. I called Brubaker and talked to Rich. I told him I am sick of this and he just kind of chuckled. He reviewed with me all of the problems we have had with our unit and said they would come out and fix it again but that we would be responsible to pay for that. I told him I am tired of putting a band aid on the problem and he said there is nothing else they can do with that unit. He knows they sold us a lemon and has admitted to that multiple times but just says that is how things go with this type of equipment. I told him that enough is enough and that we will be looking into hiring a lawyer and he said that sounds like a good plan. He is the most arrogant and unhelpful person in management I have ever had to deal with. I would not recommend Brubaker to anyone I know. They do not stand by their products or their service. Update: After leaving this review Brubaker came out to look at the equipment and offered me ONE RESOLUTION.... for me to pay them $750 to “fix” it with NO GUARANTEE that we would not have to do the same thing in 6 months. The owner himself, Jerry Brubaker, told me to go ahead and hire a lawyer. I asked him about the Customer Service guarantee that we signed and he said nothing. I asked for an answer and he said he didn’t have one. This unit should be REPLACED. I asked for them to remove it from my home and for a refund and they said no. They are blaming the manufacturer however this is the equipment they chose to sell me. They do NOT stand by their work or their service and their “satisfaction guarantee” is just a piece of paper with no value.

My dad had a bad experience with Brubaker despite the stellar reviews. His furnace diagnoses it's own issues. The technician ignored the diagnosis and made his own. He then gave him a "straight forward" price of $977.00. The tech left his home for over an hour to retrieve the replacement part (a gas valve). Upon his putting the new part in he discovered that his diagnosis was incorrect. The furnace still wouldn't run. Now he's stuck with a 2 parts that aren't defective (the one taken out and the one the tech just drove to get) and a furnace that won't work, IN January. Next the tech took the part out that the furnace originally said was the issue (pressure switches). And it was defective. Go figure. So now he's stuck with a huge bill, a still broken furnace and a confused tech. Finally the tech was able to patch it up so he'd have heat until the replacement part came. The furnace ran for 3 hours and stopped. This company allowed a disabled man on a very limited income to sit in a home without heat over a weekend in the coldest time of the winter. They claimed to be unable to get the replacement part until Monday. Their solution was to have him stay somewhere else over the weekend. I'd definitely think twice before committing to Brubaker. They treated us very unprofessionally, did not honor their "straight forward" pricing. Until it was over he was given a TOTAL price from the tech, and a totally different price from the office. Those prices differed by over $200. Now it's May, and they STILL are expecting payment of $80 for a service call in Jan. he was told he wouldn't be charged for due to the confusion. They were here 4 times and the furnace still wasn't working properly. I found a place in Millersville. They fixed that huge, overpriced issue for $60!

The work site was cleaned up at the end of each day which was really appreciated since we were still using the kitchen during the renovation. When water pipes were unexpectedly discovered in the wall we were tearing down, he said "No problem." and relocated them without any issues.
