Pricing was ridiculously high. The power company came out and found I needed to replace my meter base and bring it up to code. Unfortunately he couldn't turn the power back because it was now a fire hazard. I had no electricity and it was the weekend. Mr Electric came out and charged me $430 for just a visit...I was desperate to get my power back. And then gave me a quote for $5000!! I couldn't believe it. This couldn't be accurate. I ended up waiting until Monday. So happy I did. I got the work done for $1350 by an honest electrician. DO NOT use Mr Electric. They are over priced, 4X more overpriced!! What a joke!

They were extremely polite and efficient in scheduling and showing up, but when Ted (the technician) told me $785.00 to hook up a timer and pool pump I could not believe what I was hearing. My doctor does not charge that, absolutely absurd for 30 minutes of work. I knew I was gong to pay top dollar and was prepared for $250.00, but $785.00 was not high, it was highway robbery. Ted was a really nice guy we even BS'd for a while after the shock wore off and he and I both lived in Hawaii for a while. Nice people, but you have to be really rich or dumb to pay those prices. I am neither!

Got these fellows to come in after an electrical fire. They were the only ones available to start work the next week, and WOW was it obvious why. The technicians were perfectly polite and on time, but their work didn't pass inspection *twice*, adding over a week to the total time we waited to get back into our home. the tech sold me a 220 upgrade on a 2 bedroom, 2-bath house with a gas dryer, gas stove, and gas water heater. I later learned this was totally unnecessary. After the new breaker box had passed inspection, it turned out we still didn't have power in half the house. We had to notice this since the electrician didn't check. The electrician suspected a problem inside the ceiling, and started tearing down panels on our ceiling. Was it a problem inside the ceiling? No, they'd just connected two breakers incorrectly. Over three weeks after the first appointment, I was left with a wreck of a basement, insulation and ceiling torn up, power finally working, and a bill for nearly $8k. I found out later a standard cost for the work would have been closer to $4k.

Joey did a great job. After having our main water line replaced, we had to have a new ground put in. He also put in all new breakers as ours were over 30 years old. I asked him if he could replace my front and back outside outlets and weather proof covers while he was there as the existing ones were pretty bad. He had the parts on hand and did both for under $100. Very satisfied. Thanks Joey!

The young man who did the work at my house was outstanding. Being horrible with remembering names, I am thinking the young man was named Todd. He did his best to make everything happen the way I wanted it to be. He installed canned lights in the ceiling, took out the fluorescent ones, put in lighting under the cabinets and a light over the sink. He did a lot of extras to insure that I was totally satisfied. Not the cheapest by any stretch, but let me tell you: Mr. Electric is punctual, knowledgeable, timely and accessible. I've hired them twice and especially appreciate the fact that they're so responsive by email and phone and can usually assign someone to the job when you need them - even on short notice. Office manager Kayla's the real MVP. Starting to wonder whether she ever actually sleeps, 'cause she's always there, focused on good customer service.

Next time we need electric work, we will be requesting Shannon again. She did a fantastic job. We thought we were going to get a quote for some relatively invasive work that would have resulted in a dry wall repair, but Shannon managed to repair it all in the same day, in addition to providing a receptacle on the exterior of our house, and finding a hidden receptacle on our back porch. Shannon was very knowledgeable and did a great job of explaining everything to us. Her troubleshooting appeared to be a bit more robust than the last electrician who did work for us who had recommended we completely rewire one of our circuits which would have required us to break open several walls. She saved us money and time.

Dear Mr. Kleiser, I want to thank you for providing a much needed service on generators. Your company was the only one that responded to my request. I called a total of 4 companies, and yours was the only one who returned my call. Thank you. It is apparently not easy to get someone to service a generator. We have had our Guardian generator for 7 years and never had a problem, then one day is wouldn't start. We religiously maintain it and had no clue as what the problem was. But on July 9th Greg found out we had a defective solenoid. He replaced it and we were good to go. I want to commend your company on several points. First, your prompt response, secondly your honesty in pricing, and lastly your repairman Greg, who was friendly, professional, experienced, and efficient. My soon to be husband changed out a light fixture in our home. some wires were crossed and the light would not turn off. Not only that but the alarm company that we go through started calling us to tell us that there was a disturbance in the system. We called to make an appointment and they told us they would be there within a couple of hours. The gentleman that arrived was very kind, very fast, even replaced our other light fixture. Then proceeded to give us the best deal out there. We have their advantage plan and let me tell you... They stick to their word! The gentleman that came to our house last night was sure to make us aware of all of the discounts that we can get with our plan. Later in the conversation he had mentioned that he was the owner of the company and how he was filling in for someone that was ill. It's people like him that make a great company!!! I had a grounding problem that required replacement of the service meter and lines leading to my panel and had Mr electric out to bid with some other companies. Their bid was over $5000! 2 to 3 times HIGHER than all the other companies I had out! Their tech was also very dismissive of an obvious ground short I had which was a more imminent concern because he was eager to take me to the cleaner obviously. I will never do business with these schiesters

Great Experience We used Mr. Electric for several different jobs. The work was completed on time and as agreed to. The service techs arrived on time, were clean, professional, courteous and did exactly what they said they would do. Most impressive, they were up front about what they could not do at the high level of expertise they expect from themselves and they had good recommendations for the work they could not do for us. Admittedly we probably paid more than what we could have bargained for with a non-national service, but we’ve owned many houses and what I’ve found with remodel and home repair work is you generally get what you pay for, either up front or in the long run. My experience is that Mr. Electric delivers not only good work, but considering my time and the hassle free experience ends up a value to other options. I had opportunity recently to observe the completion of several generator projects for a client. I was present at each site during the installation process to assure that my client's interests would be properly served, and I had contracted with Mr. Electric of Portland to conduct the installation work. I was thoroughly impressed with the level of expertise and professionalism demonstrated, throughout each project, by the electricians and technicians performing the installations. I especially appreciated that they were willing and able to complete the entire installation, including generator delivery, off-load and placement, followed by installation and connection of all related electrical equipment and wiring ,and; all related gas piping and connections, eliminating need to involve additional contractors. The Mr. Electric personnel were efficient and obviously experienced and, as a result of their efforts, all 4 projects were completed in record time and without problems. I am working with my client to arrange several additional generator projects and, as soon as I have authorization to proceed, I will not hesitate to arrange to have Mr. Electric of Portland complete each of these additional projects.

This was my first time hiring an electrician, so I was a bit nervous and skeptical... I know electrical work can be really spendy. My uncle was an electrician, so I never needed to hire one, till he had a stroke and could no longer do electrical work. Mr. Electric and more specifically our electrician, Daryl Ham, pleasantly surprised me. Daryl literally looked high and low to find the root of our electrical problem that was causing half of our house's electricity not to work. He was professional, friendly and honest... he even gave us a $20 bill he found on the floor of our garage! Our electricity was fixed within 2 hours, it was a hard problem to diagnose, one even my uncle (with years of experience) couldn't figure out. What a huge relief to find a good and honest electrician! I highly recommend Mr. Electric and Daryl, I will be using them again for any of my future electrical needs.

Had to get some work done due to power outages at a company branch I manage. When I called I spoke to a couple gals (Angie and Sarah I believe) and they had me an appointment immediately. The arrival window was 10am to 12pm but they were at the business at 10am on the dot which was incredibly fast turnaround. Less than 1 hour. The electricians, Daryl and Josh, had the problem solved same-day (which was important because I'm running a business). It was clear that they were experienced and knew what they were doing. They also took the time to explain everything to me and kept me in the loop start to finish. They were up front about potential costs and the bill was a bit less than originally expected which is a much more pleasant surprise than a bill that's higher than expected. I appreciated that they requested authorization before adding expenses and have a very detailed expense/event report which my accountant will be thankful for. When our powerline was taken out by a windstorm a couple of weeks ago, we called Mr. Electric and a technician was at our home in 45 minutes. He was very helpful and courteous and worked until well into the evening to complete reconnecting our electrical box to our house before leaving. His work passed the City inspection the first time and our power was back on the next day. The rates were very reasonable. We'll definitely always contact Mr. Electric for any repair work we require.

Four thumbs up for Mr. Electric. These folks are extremely professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. Needed a main breaker swap in my panel (our house has an old panel) and I called a half dozen other electricians in Portland and they all were 3-5 weeks out on appointments. Called Mr. Electric on a Tuesday and they were able to come out on Friday. Christina and the other schedulers are extremely friendly and knowledgable. She penciled me in for an appt. and suggested I also call PGE to have them check line levels so that if that was the problem I could have it taken care of first. She kept me up-to-date about when Todd would arrive, and he was actually here a half-hour early. Todd is the man - gave me a great explanation of the problem. He had to make three trips to different stores to get the correct breaker and other parts for my old panel. Even had to have a supervisor drop off other parts. The supervisor/owner explained to me that Mr. Electric is one of the only electrical companies in Portland that focuses primarily or solely on repairs (most outfits just do new construction, which is obviously easier because you don't have to deal with people's old equipment). I respect that they focus on repairs instead of easy work. You can probably get electrical work done more cheaply than these guys do it, but they earn every dollar in being timely and professional and willing to work on projects most electricians won't. I was worried that he would only be able to diagnose on the first visit and I would have to wait another week to have the work. But even though it was Friday afternoon and the job was a pain for him, he stayed as long as it took to get it done properly. Thanks Christina, Todd and everyone else! This was the best service experience I've ever had. Can't recommend these guys enough. Five giant stars!

The electrician tricked me into a "diagnosis". He walked around and checked outlets, made sure my heater was working. Nothing was broken, and he charged me $100. He didn't give me a quote before the service! Be aware when you deal with this company.

They tried to charge me $1,700 for a simple outdoor outlet installation right beside our breaker. They filed the job as a hot tub installation and then refused to send me an invoice when the project was completed. The inspector never showed up, which is not only illegal but also a substantial part of the cost for a service we never received. Jim, the owner, is absurdly unprofessional and even used the passing of his wife a year ago as an excuse for the atrocious service. Do NOT use this company. They are a joke.
