Their "in the door" price is a bit high; otherwise, no complaints. Have used them for both plumbing and heating issues (they even service oil furnaces). The service techs are well trained, and very courteous.

J.L. was a professional, he took the time to listen, made suggestions and offered options for the project I presented. He kept me informed of when and how the project would take place. He also phoned prior to installation to check on the date and readiness of our home for the installation. When the two Installers - Jason & Seth - arrived,- first of all they arrived 5 minutes early, second they explained what they were going to do and how long it should take. During the installation they kept me informed of the progress and as they worked they cleaned up each are they had worked. in. I found these men pleasant to work with and would recommend the entire team.

They do not carry a drain snake on their truck. So when it turned out that my dishwasher problem was a clogged drain, they couldn't fix it. They subbed it out, and charged me a "diagnostic" fee for doing nothing. I complained, and it was refunded, but it was alot of hassle for no reason.

Had Ed's today. What a scam. Drain broke o claw foot tub. Said the drain pipe in the floor was too small and needed enlarged. I had all the plastic for the job. They put the same size plastic in that was in the floor so we were scammed. They cut a hole in the ceiling as well and wouldn't have to have done that and use the same pipe that was in the floor. I hope they feel good about scamming my wife because I couldn't be there. Great scam Ed, you should really feel good about this!

Big time Price gouge!! On a Saturday for a service call for a pilot light needing to be relit and without hot water. $200 to come out and $200 more to light pilot! Seriously?? They take advantage of the misfortunes of others and charge outrageous prices. Plus, if we needed a new water heater probably couldn't get one to us for 5 days. Wow. Found another plumber who came out in 30 mins, relit the pilot for $150.00 total and new water heater will be here in 3 days. They have gotten too big and have bought out a lot of their competition so they can charge you monopoly prices! Ed's get over yourself!!

No communication. I called and waited 2 weeks for an electrician to come out and look at why a ceiling fan wouldn't work. After paying $98. for the tech to come out he was there exactly 11 minutes and told me he couldn't fix the issue today he needed a part and would call to try and get the job back in two days later. Never heard back. After calling it would at least be another week or so because all the electricians were on a big job. Not stupid. It is the holidays and you probably are not staffed correctly. Just call me back and communicate with me when you would be able to return. My time is valuable too but not $8.91a minute.

Wonderful Electrician named Ron relocated my fuse box-service panel, it was a big job! Ron was thorough and polite, he corrected some additional issues with the panel for me without charge. Electrician named Josh came out in the rain and replaced cover box on the exterior of my home, he also removed a dead bird and chipmunk that had gotten into the broken box (gross)..They are always on time and always helpful. Fantastic Electricians! I would recommend Ed”s to anyone looking for affordable, quality work.

What a nightmare! Heat advisory last two days and our air conditioner went out.. Ed's sent a tech out yesterday, charged a lot , said it was fixed, and it wasnt.. We called back within a couple hours and left a message on their Emergency line. They tout 24 hour service. No return call yesterday evening. We placed a second call this morning...after 15 hours of not hearing from them. Guy said he would call the tech that was out yesterday and call us back but should get someone out to look at it. Again 7 to 8 hours went by and no call. I called yet again and the tech said he just got the phone and asked where we were located. Tech asked if I was going to be home... I responded yes, I had been waiting all day for someone to come and he said he would give me a call when he was on his way. 5 hours has passed....it's almost 10:00 p.m..... nothing. What makes this even more agregious is we explained to them that I have MS. Heat is my number one enemy, as most with MS experience. I told the guy this afternoon....if they aren't able to come fix it...just say so. The broken promises and lack of concern of someone with a medical condition is beyond our understanding.

My wife and I had Ed’s replace our furnace boiler and AC unit (including attic ductwork). We give them our highest recommendation. Each person on their team—and I spoke with at least 5 workers—was polite, knowledgeable, articulate, friendly, helpful, cheerful, hardworking and respectful of our stuff. (Their clean-up was incredibly thorough!) The project manager, JL, was especially terrific. This was a big project, yet most of it was completed in a single day (ductwork was finished on day 2). And scheduling was a snap: since they worked so efficiently, they have a quick turnaround time. We only waited 10 days to begin work. And of all the bids I got from the “A” list on AngiesList, Ed’s was by far the fairest. I don’t mean only that their price was the lowest, but also that they didn’t try to sell us a bigger or fancier system than we needed. (The project manager kept talking me down to what was most reasonable for our situation.) What we got is just right. We feel very fortunate to have picked Ed’s!

We’ve been without A/C since Saturday (yes during the heat wave!) last week. Tech didn’t show up till late Monday, despite the fact that we told the tech our fan and motor were shot and would need parts. Parts weren’t ordered till Tuesday morning. Then nothing...the excuse has been that they couldn’t get parts, then the fan came in but not the motor. What!?! And they weren’t planning to call and tell us! We had to call them and find out where all the parts were! We’re praying that today we’ll have A/C now that temps are sky rocketing again! So disappointed in this company. We’ll be going back to Morris for any future service and sales. Lesson learned.

Estimate went smooth, on time, and knew what we wanted. My husband and I were quoted a fair price, to which I was willing to pay. Electrician left, we told him we were going to discuss what we wanted to do then call Ed’s back. Called back scheduled appointment for the following Monday. Monday morning my husband got a phone requested to reschedule for Thursday, no problem. Well here it is Thursday afternoon my husband calls and they thought the job was completed Monday and had no knowledge of them coming today? Whoever answers the phone at Ed’s has no idea what is actually going on. I’d say at the least there is a serious communication issue with this company. Employee took off with one of my screwdrivers when they came out and did a very limited job I hired them for as opposed to the bigger job I originally wanted them to. Too bad because we were going to have Ed’s run new duct work and put in a heat pump this fall if everything worked out with this job, guess I’ll have to find a company that wants to work. I’ll just have Sidney Electric handle the rest of my residential needs.

I decided to ditch my ancient furnace and have a new central air/furnace unit installed. Ed's was one of the businesses I called for an inspection and quote. The man from Ed's came over, checked everything out, suggested which units to go with and what would be required, then told me he'd put it together in an official estimate and e-mail me the next day. I never heard from them again. I suggest Brockman And Sons. They do quick, quality work, are affordable, and will actually call you back.

I have referred people lo e to Ed's in the past but not so sure about now. Bryant furnace less than 3 years old stopped working before dawn on Thursday. Service person arrived by 10:30 a m. and did a diagnostic. Reviewed the problem and said it would be between 1-3 fir him to return with parts. He comes after 4pm, puts in new parts and furnace still does not work. Technician then said it was something else and could not be fixed until next day. Called office next day and asked that my diagnostic fee be refunded and was told no. I believe the least Ed's could do is refund that fee since the initial diagnostic did not fix the problem I waited a whole late morning to late afternoon for parts and then was told I would have a cold house all night. I previously had a Look Lennox Pulse and it sure did not fail just a few years post install. Not a satisfied customer at this point
