I was having a partial part/voltage issue in the house. I would lose power in certain rooms, outlets and lights at random times. The breakers never once tripped when it would happen. Sometimes the power would just flicker and other times it would stay off. So of course I got on the line and did my homework. Only thing I could do was flip the main breaker in the panel. A few times doing that and the power would come back on and other times it wouldn't. So finally i called American Electric. I talked to Shelby and explained my problem. She told me there was a tech in my area on that day and can have someone there, but then she did something that completely took me by surprise. She told me that 90% of the time, the problem I'm having is outside, call The Illuminating Company and explain my problem. The Illuminating Company will come out and check and it would be free. If American Electric comes out they would have to charge a service call, which i understood. Well in turns out it was an Illuminating Company issue and the problem was taken care of by them and for free. Shelby/American Electric could have easily could have come out, take my money and then tell me to call The Illuminating Company. To me that is excellent customer service. I can't speak on the companies service, techs or price, but as far as I'm concern they have earned my future service if I should ever need it. Thank you Shelby for you honest, professionalism and putting the customer first before the company.

best company hands done!!! brought a new house that they replaced the breaker box for the previous owner that had some questionable wiring by the insurance company they came out free of charge to expect the wiring.

Your service was timely, the chap you sent was knowledgeable and answered my questions, made sure his work was acceptable, offered to deal with any other issues I might have, but I felt the charge was a bit high. I'd recommend you but I'd warn that it would be costly, as I was warned when I asked a friend for a company to do what I needed done.

I had a problem with a partial power outage at home. I called early morning, was told they were scheduling for appointments 3 weeks from now. I explained the problem and they had someone out by 1230pm that day. Turned out to be a minor issue. John S. was friendly, efficient, able to solve problem in minutes. I am definitely a satisfied customer. Will use for all my electrical needs going forward.

STAY AWAY. They charged me $179 to replace a ballast. I had light bulbs, but they insisted I needed to use theirs. 15 minutes worth of labor....stay away from this company

The team at American Electric is always fast to respond and does exceptional work at a great value. They've done minor repairs for us that I didn't feel 100 percent confident in doing myself, and they've done more major repairs that likely have prevented at least one house fire. I just had my Hot Tub wired to my house. Bob and his apprentice came out yesterday, on time and even put covers on their shoes to walk through the house. They were extremely polite and efficient. 5 star service all around. Great prices, on time and cleaned up very well after each day they worked(3). Out of the handful of companies that came to quote the job, American electric was the only company that wore booties. And they did religiously throughout the entire 3 day job. I even put down plastic and suggested they use just the plastic. He told me he couldn't and that its a habit. A good habit in my opinion. Highly recommended and will call them to do any more electric needs that i may need.

Bought a new house recently that needed the panel and service upgraded. Called American and they sent someone out for an estimate. Joe came out and was super helpful with letting me know what needed to be done and when it could happen. Joe and Jim came out and with in the day got the panel taken care of. They kept everything clean while working and even helped me move a huge concrete sink out of the way of the panel which. Will definitely be calling them again for all my electric needs.

I heard about American Electric on WKKY radio and remembered their name when I needed an electrician. They have done two jobs for me in the past two years and I was delighted with both. They rewired some front post lights including running cable underground in one case. In the other, they replaced exterior floodlights that were too high for me to reach. On time, fair price, good work, friendly, good cleanup in both cases. I will continue to have American Electric as my "go to" electricians!
