We had an outlet that suddenly became very hot and made the wall hot too. I called six local electricians and left a call back number. 48 hours went by --no response. Then I called York--immediately spoke with one of the principles. They had an efficient competent man here within three hours who took care of the wiring problem and explained to us the proper safety procedures (danger of an electical fire!) because we live in a building with very old wiring. I recommend them very highly.

After searching through some of the online reviews for contractors, I chose to go with York Electrical. I lucked out! They were great - on time, very personable, and extremely professional. Tommy and his partner took down my old track lighting and installed a new set of lights and track. They also took down and rehung my kitchen fixture, a difficult job. It was not inexpensive but it was worth the money to have a job well done. I’m so glad I found an electrician that knows what they’re doing and does quality work. I would highly recommend them.

I've spent a lot of time dealing with various contractors, handymen and electricians, and I have to say that this was hands down the best experience I've had. They call ahead to confirm appointments, actually show up on time (and not just at the end of their window), give fair prices, and actually start and finish work when they project they will. The fact that everyone I tell this to is blown away is a testament to how uncommon those simple gestures are. Dennis is very straight-forward and clear when talking about the job, and his guys (Tommy and a guy I failed to catch the name of) were also very professional. I would definitely use them again.

Had some work done on a new apartment in a pre war building. Had old outlets changed out for new tamper resistant outlets and also updated light switches. Tommy came within the 15 min window of the ETA, worked in a timely manner and the update looks great.

Excellent experience with York Electric. Just had them run an electric stove hookup and move my breaker box. Dennis and his team were on time, very professional, and completed the job in a timely manner. They even left the work area far cleaner than when they found it. I know from experience that selecting the right contractor/electrician can be difficult but I wouldn't hesitate to use them again and would absolutely recommend.

They explained the problem was actually with ConEd. They restored our power and also reported the problem to ConEd for us. I just felt i wanted to write this review. We bought a house in bayside a few months ago, and were in the process of renovating our kitchen, bathrooms, and basement. Our neighbor recommended us to York Electric because they used them years back and were very happy with their work. Dennis the owner came and gave a price to re-wire our main electrical service panel, our basement, bathroom, kitchen, and our new air conditioning system. Courtesy, Professionalism and Respect. These are the most basic business principles. If that is what you want from a professional Electrical Contractor, York Electrical is who you should be calling. I had an electrical violation for my building and like everybody these days, we “google” everything. Like everybody, I did my google search for an electrician and of course for the highest rated electrician. Up popped “York Electrical”, but like most people, I am always the pessimist, with the 5 star reviews, but I gave it a try and called. Once I called, Dennis picked up the phone within the third ring. I was totally surprised that the proprietor of the business would pick up, it was just like what the other reviewer said, the owner picks up all calls, its true! I was shocked, usually I would get a secretary or a person on the other line that would simple say, “uh-huh, sure, let me get someone to call you back”. Not with York, Dennis listened to my problem and told me immediately if he was able to help me or not. Dennis listened intently and asked me questions about my issue and treated my issue with the utmost care and respect that he would treat a multi-million dollar deal, of course my issue was minute compared to huge jobs, but the respect that I got from him and York Electrical made me feel that my issue was his issue, and he would take care of it. As promised, Dennis delivered, within 3 days, the electrical permit was issued and the DOB inspection happened with no issue. I want to thank Dennis in the way he treats his customers the old school way. York Electrical is a top notch electrical contractor that will get things done and treat you with the respect and courtesy that many other business should learn from! Again, thank you Dennis! I will definitely use your services for all of my buildings in the future, and recommend you to all of my friends!

It's scary trusting contractors especially because there are so many bad ones out there. After worrying about what I thought was going to be expensive electrical work, George answered all questions professionally and found the problem. He was scheduled to look over the problem a week later but found time, while heading to another job, to stop by and quickly access the situation the same day I called. The solution was so simple, George didn't even charge. In a world, where people won't hesitate to take advantage of others, there are good people. Just had York electric hook up my central air and couldn't have asked for better service. Called them on a Friday, spoke to Dennis (very friendly guy) who came within the hour that same day to give me an estimate which was very reasonable. I own a large catering hall in Astoria Queens and have been using York electric for all of my electrical needs for the last 15 years… Partners Dennis and Dennis have always been available to me 24 hours a day to meet any last-minute emergency that may arise… Several years ago I had a large electrical panel explode in the basement on a Friday evening… Dennis sent over an emergency team in the middle of the night and rewired half of my building and had me up and running by 10 o’clock the next morning eliminating the necessity to cancel six parties that day… His team wired the entire kitchen with temporary lighting and the necessary power to get through the weekend… I can’t tell you how comforting it is to know that should I need it Dennis and Dennis are only a phone call away and that York Electric will get me up and running… These gentlemen are quality professionals that are deeply rooted in the Queens community. Overall the work was great. The hardware I needed installed on my home's exterior was done with minimal wall excavation. Both techs worked fast, yet careful, and cleaned-up any mess created. There were some minor issues but they are not worth mentioning because they were easily resolved. Price was reasonable, I would definitely consider using them again for any future work.

I selected York, because upon speaking with Dennis, he was very open and willing to discuss the possible issues and solutions, and was very straightforward and efficient. Tommy provided prompt and solid service as well as some very friendly conversation. He not only fixed the issue I called him about but he identified the root cause of our circuit breaker failures and suggested installing some service switches to prevent future failures. I was up all night after an electrician botched the whole job and ruined the wiring for my new dryer. I called Dennis at 3am to leave a message and he called back at 7:30am. He was so understanding and really took the time to talk to me about what I should do about the situation and send he was sending two guys out. They were there within an hour and a half! He gave me a price over the phone after I sent pictures and explained it all. The guys that arrived came in a licensed van and brought all there own equipment. (Which the previous “handyman” did not.) They were extremely polite and professional. They fixed everything PERFECTLY and in a timely manner. I could hardly hear them working either, so quiet! After it was finished they had made sure everything was hooked up correctly and turned on the machines. They went OUT OF THEIR WAY to re do horrible work that was done. We hired York to upgrade our main electrical service for our strip center. This was a huge job requiring constant coordination with ConEd and other city departments. Dennis was professional and upfront regarding the challenges and costs of the job. His crew did great work and the finished product was exactly what we expected (and NEEDED for our tenants). Following that job, we had York return to rewire a fire damaged basement to ensure the space was safe for occupancy and, again, the job was done very well. This is a family business as Dennis runs York with his cousin, and his son works on site. No complaints. I strongly recommend York.
