Jack Rome of Design Air just completed thorough checks of my A/C and heating systems, and I am thrilled with the service he provided. A few days earlier it had been warm so my wife turned on the A/C, and we both noticed a strange sound. A neighbor recommended Design Air. My wife called them this morning, and Jack came over about an hour later. Besides fixing the noise problem, he found and fixed a problem with the condensation drainage. At my request he also did a thorough check of the furnace and heating system and made a few minor repairs. The reasons I am giving 5 stars and saying that I'm thrilled with the service go well beyond find and fixing problems, however. First of all Jack is friendly, courteous, and professional. Secondly, he is clean - whenever he came into the house he wore coverings over his shoes so he wouldn't track in dirt. He would take them off whenever he had to go outside (to his truck or to look at the condenser), and then he would put them back on to come back inside. Thirdly, he explained everything he was doing, told me how much it would cost, and got my approval before proceeding. I will ask for Jack again by name.

Chris Hoops was the service tech we requested (due to favorable service from him previously on our Lennox system) to diagnose a whistling sound in our cooling system and to look at a thermostat that was not holding the right temperature. He didn't waste any time diagnosing the whistling noise which was the volume of air flowing through a return duct and going back into the coil but only when 1 zone was on. When another zone called for cooling, the whistle stopped. He adjusted the damper weight which almost eliminated the noise. The thermostat was determined to not be operating properly. He put a new one in which seems to be operating properly now. Chris was very patient while answering my questions and very educational in his explanations. He was very courteous and let me know how much he appreciated the fact that I am a loyal and long term customer and was accommodating with his time. I will request Chris again if service calls are necessary in the future. Thanks for valuing my business Chris over these many years.

I had two high efficiency boilers installed in my house about three years ago. The main boiler has been a nightmare, we have had numerous repairs made to this system, although the parts are under warrantee the labor costs have been outrageous. Now we have another failure with the same boiler, again the parts are under warrantee, but Design Air wants $2,000 in labor. I feel like I am being rip off continuously. I have to keep calling Larry (General Manager) for an update, this week it took four calls before I got through to him, the previous three messages he never returned. Although our secondary boiler is working it exhausts next to our pool, the fumes can be overbearing at times, I explained this to Larry but he seemed more interested in the $2,000 labor bill than fixing Lennox’s problem. I also had Design Air install a high efficiency HVAC System, so I would like to think I am a pretty good customer, but they really don’t seem interested in taking care of you once they have sold you a system. VERY DISAPOINTED

Our gas fireplace had not worked properly for a long time and we were never able to get the proper repair people. They all kept telling me that parts were very hard to get. I found Design Air on line and called them. The person answering the phone, Frank, was so nice and helpful. He set up an appointment and told me the price I was shocked but thought I need it fixed. Lou came to the house, what a nice person, so respectful, he spent almost 2 hours fixing our fireplace, every time he checked something he had to add another part, he had all the parts he needed for the repair right on the truck! All other people told me parts were hard to get. He had to replace 4 or 5 main components. He was a pleasure to have in our home and very well worth the expense. He cleaned up after all was finished. I would recommend them to anyone that has a gas fireplace for service. I give them a rating from one to ten a fifteen!

I switched on the heat for the first time this season, on a Friday night, and the temperature in the house had dropped by Saturday morning. I raised the thermostat and still nothing happened. We have a maintenance contract with Design Air, so I called them. They gave me an afternoon time slot, and Craig arrived early within the given time frame. He found and explained the problem, and then replaced the pilot light. When combined with the weekend service call, the repair wasn't cheap, but we got a discount due to the contract. Craig was very thorough, making sure the heat worked for each area with a thermostat. The house warmed up in a few hours and I didn't get cold that night.

Mick performed a thorough examination of our air conditioning system, and revealed some serious blockage in the compressor grills. He carefully removed the built-up blockage and got us all set for season. He explained what he did, and provided suggestions to us regarding monthly maintenance. I've been totally satisfied with Design Air Since the late 80s when I had them install a central air conditioning system. Since then, two years ago I had them install a replacement. I guess over 25 years is a good run for that Lennox unit they put in. They replaced it with a Lennox unit again, and it's been great. Design Air has been professional and reliable all along. Specifically, today's visit was for a routine maintenance for AC & Heat. Jack showed up on time and was friendly with our 'active' dog. He was professional and really really helpful in explaining what he was doing - each step along the way. He also informed me all about a Ductless system made by Fujitsu that might help with our upstairs rooms. The house is old, the attic was converted, and it's never been great as far as temperature goes. They told me originally, AND, when the new unit was installed, that running the ducts up from the basement through the attic and into the rooms was optimistic at best. I accepted that and decided to deal with it. However, now after speaking to Jack, I'm considering a ductless unit to supplement the regular unit to get better comfort in the converted attic bedrooms. He didn't quote a price but explained how it would be a good fit for this type of 'hybrid' house. Also, during the maintenance visit, he communicated well about the flame sensor and why that is important to maintain. I can't speak highly enough about Jack - He was both patient and a great communicator. I'm lucky to have been recommended to Design Air years back by my friend Mark, and I'm appreciative of the professionalism Jack brings to the company as well.

I used Design Air 20 years ago on my home in Airmont. They installed a complete central air unit. The system never missed a beat. Now 2019 I'm renovating a complete home in Montebello . I was partial to Design Air but had to do my homework. After receiving a few estimates it was clear Design Air was doing the job. Furnace failed sometime during a Saturday night. Woke Sunday morning on one of the coldest days of the year with no heat. Called Design and received a quick call back and initial visit. Our air conditioner failed right in the middle of a heat wave, and I was able to get EB Design Air to come over almost immediately. The guys were friendly, neat (they put booties on when they came indoors), and good at what they do. They encountered a snag during the installation of a new system (due not to them but to my old equipment), and these guys stayed with it a long while until they got it fixed and got system going. They might have charged me extra for the extra time, but they didn't. We are now very cool and very happy.

John R. was a great technician, at least assuming my water heater doesn't blow up. I had Design Air come at least 3 times to replace 2 parts before John came and my bill was already around $1,000. I had confidence in his work because he showed me the part that was defective whereas the other technician apparently assumed it was the sensor and the next time, the water pump. He had replaced those 2 parts but my water was still steaming hot out of the faucet! I don't believe that all 3 parts were defective. I think John found the culprit and, as a result, I think he's the best diagnostician.
