My ice maker was no longer making ice. A repairman from Samsung came out and notice no water was getting to the refrigerator. He inspected the hot water heater which I had installed by Academy Air and found out the hot water heater didn't have a shut off device for the ice maker. I called Academy Air and they sent Zac out to inspect my issue. He made a phone call to Academy Air explaining his finding. Academy Air approved the repair and now I have water and ice coming from my refrigerator. Zac is a keeper it took him no time to find and fix the issue. Thanks for sending Zac to handle my issue. If I have any other plumbing related issues I will be requesting Zac. Great job young man!

Our air conditioner coil failed over the weekend on a 16 year unit that wasn’t worth replacing. We had a new furnace and AC ready the next day. Karl and Kyle did a great job with the installation doing all the little things I was asking for like easier access to the air filter, thermostat updates, and gave some great ideas on fixing an air circulation issues in the hallway. Had Russell Ware come out to rewire a dead (I thought) garbage disposal, to install a new one. He trouble-shot the old one and got it working. He could have just installed the new outlet and never messed with the old disposal, since that's what the call was for. Instead, I added a HVAC protection plan/membership and got a quote on some new lighting. Always happy to work with companies that employ capable, honest professionals.

Academy Air sent an electrician the afternoon I called requesting our main power line be reattached to our house after a tree limb ripped it away. It wasn't an emergency call so the quick response was appreciated. The electrician, Russell, was very professional and courteous. He went above and beyond and reattached the vinyl siding while he was fixing the line. After completing the job, he also gave us a free electrical box inspection with good results. We were very happy with Russell and his work.

He helped me clear out some personal items and boxes around the gas meter. I called Spire the gas company and they arrived 25 minutes later to mitigate the problem. He was here on time, and performed a comprehensive inspection of the switch and our electrical panel. He communicated clearly throughout the visit. He fixed our light switch to our 110% satisfaction. The company is pretty responsive and show up on time but they are CRAZY EXPENSIVE. I thought I would be a lifetime customer of this company but it seems that something has changed with this company recently. They recently completed a repair on my water heater. The 1 hour of labor (if that) and $10 thermocoupler cost me $350. When I called to ask if the pricing was right the office told me they completed 2 other repairs (which weren't done). I was promised a return phone call from a manager to discuss three different times and still, no return call. I would not recommend using them to anyone anymore unless you have a crazy emergency and you need a same day service call and money is not an issue.

The two guys that came to the house were friendly and efficient. The only concern I have is that they bid the job to take 2 hrs. And charged us $400.00 and it took them less than 1 hr . They tightened a bathroom fixture and put 3 pieces of flashing on the ceiling of our basement. The quality of the work was excellent, but thought it was a little overpriced.

We were having power surges so I called Academy Air/ Electric. ( the surges stopped but we wanted peace of mind) The customer service was good over the phone, assuring me that it was $69.99 to have a full diagnostic evaluation and quote. We could choose to go with the repair service or not. The tech came, checked both electrical panels and outside meter. No issues were found and he proceeded to tell us it was A level 1 service and would give us a "deal" for $180. The $69.99 was for him to just drive here. He tried to sell us a membership which I had no clue they did nor do I want. I explained to him I was told $69.99 for the service call. He did knock the price down saying " his boss was going to be upset" even after showing him the website stating $69.99 price. If you like getting oil done at Valvoline I would say you'll get the same experience. All sales tactics and pressure. I will not use again. This was for electrical check, not sure how their other service is.

I hate calling contractors because i always feel like they are ripping me off. I chose Academy Air because they have great reviews, and i wasn't disappointed. John and Josh came out on time and were friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. They were able to fix my ac unit on site at what i think was a fair price. John was training Josh, and was doing a very good job of it. Josh seemed pretty knowledgeable already, and John was getting him ready to handle anything he might encounter on a call. I will use them again and recommend them to friends and family.

I used academy air for a number of years at my current residence. I never had a problem with the regular HVAC checkups and the techs were always professional. Unfortunately it was during a winter emergency call that i lost all faith in academy air. Our furnace stopped working and the house was getting cold. I called academy air and agreed to the higher emergency call prices as we needed service ASAP. The tech showed up and diagnosed the furnace as having a bad vacuum switch. This is where things fell apart. I ask him to please fix it as we need heat and it was freezing cold outside. He tells me he doesn't have the part on him, may not have it at the shop and might have to order it which could take a few days, *however* if i wanted to buy the part myself that day and replace it myself it was very easy to do. It didn't make too much sense to me that it was somehow possible for me to get the part myself that same day and it would take him a few days when he is the HVAC guy, but okay. I tell him that's fine, I will fix it myself, and he bills me for the service trip and diagnostic of the unit. Within an hour I find the correct part at a competitor and I am ready to go get it. The parts guy i was talking to on the phone asked me to try something first. He had me go downstairs to my furnace and locate the switch in question. He asked me to remove the rubber hose on the vacuum switch and see if there was any blockage inside it. Sure enough there was a buildup of white crusty stuff blocking the hose. I cleaned the hose out, put it back on and the furnace fired right up and worked fine! I was astounded! This parts guy just fixed my furnace over the phone for free! Experience counts! Then i realized academy air just charged me a fairly good amount of money to misdiagnose my furnace and basically push me into fixing my own problem because he *didn't* have the part?! I contacted them, got the runaround about my situation, and never heard from them again. Found a new company pretty easily as there are tons of good ones around. two stars are for the problem free years before the final incident.
