I hired this company to do some work for us on multiple occasions. They somehow were sending invoices to one of my customers instead of me. They did some additional work for them while they were there working for me. I am not sure what is owed because I have no invoices. I did receive a letter today from a collection agency showing $870.40 due however, Melanie says its more than that. I told her to have my sales person bring invoice over and I will pay it, but she has to call collection agency first to let them know there was a mistake on their end. That through there confusion they were sending invoices to wrong customer. She said they cannot do that because it has been too long? The only reason its been so long is because they were billing the wrong person. The customer actually called 4 times to tell them they were billing the wrong person. We are looking for a new electrician you should too...

Unfortunately I had electric issue in which half the power my house went out on a Saturday morning at 7:00 a.m. I called Oak electric And within 2 hours and electrician was at my home. The person who initially answered my call was extremely thorough, polite, and cognizant of my time and the need for expedient service. Michael the electrician who came to my home was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. He diagnosed my problem quickly and demonstrated the issue. Sadly I had an issue with my underground wiring which owned by The power company. Michael provided me any information as to how to contact the company, how to get expedient service, and how to ensure a person from the company would come to inspect the problem appropriately. I can honestly say this is one of the best experiences I've ever had with a company as a whole. Furthermore Michael took time out of his busy Saturday to assess two other electrical needs I have at my home. He was extremely courteous and kind. Thank you for your hard work and helping me in a troubling time. I will definitely go with this company in the future for all my electrical needs

Extremely disappointed and frustrated. We hired Oak Electric to put in a full house generator. The man who came out to give is a quote was very nice, appeared to be knowledgeable and sold us a generator. It went downhill from there. We set up an appointment for the generator to be installed. I took the day of work, the morning it was scheduled to be installed they cancelled stating they didn’t have enough installers working that day. We rescheduled. The installers came out for the next appointment and spent the day installing the generator. A few hours later we smelled gas. We called Oak Electrics 24 hour emergency line. They never called back. We called consumers energy they were out in a half hour and turned off the gas line that was leaking. I called Oak electric to come back out to fix gas leak. A month later inspectors came out and found several mistakes. I was told mistakes were corrected. Last night our power went out and our generator kicked on and ran all night but didn’t work. The generator ran but we still have no power. I called the 24 hour emergency number and still haven’t received a call from them. On line they say they are open 24 hours but this is false. I would not recommend this company.

Oak installed 2 new a/c and furnaces 11/2017. On May 25, 2018 a heat wave hits the area and neither of the 2 a/c work. Turn the stat to 75 and a fan comes on. I called everyday to get service and each time was told call you right back and never heard from anyone. They just ignore me.

I was a bit concerned that adding a generator would cause a "tacked on" look with obvious cables and piping running across my basement ceiling, but I was very pleased with the job Oak Electric did. I didn't like the idea of them making a T on my gas service which is near my front door, so they did the work inside the wall where it doesn't show. They also carefully routed the gas and cabling through the ceiling joists such that they are hard to notice. Travis and his crew took off their shoes each time they entered my house, and kept me informed as to when the gas and power would be affected. I do not hesitate to recommend Oak Electric, and expect to call them back for other electrical work.

Generator install went smooth.. they had to run a gas line from one end of the basement to the other. Was able to be done without making any holes in the drywall ceiling! They do the yearly maintenance.. very efficient.

This company is HORRIBLE!!!! They replaced my hot water heater almost 3 weeks ago. Guess who has not had hot water for over 3 weeks???? They sent someone out to look at the unit twice. The last time they said we needed to rewire the whole thing to a new box. We hired them to do that. Guess what....still no hot water...... I’ll agree that they are fast at having someone out the same or next day..... but showing up and not solving the problem repeatedly for over 3 weeks is not only wrong it’s straight up robbery. Have not gotten a single drop of hot water for any of the money we have forked out. What ever you do call someone else!!!!!!! I’m willing to modify my review if I eventually get help. But it’s Friday night 3 weeks later and still nothing......

The rep the company sent out was 1/2 late for Appt, and caused me to be late, blamed the snow? Where I live we had 1 inch, come on Brian. He called up 45 minutes before appt at 9 am, and said he was running late due to weather, and was on his way, I asked him to there by 9:15, he seemed set on 9:30, by his response, called him back at 9:30 and told him I was leaving, as I was going he pulls up: poor time mgt. He then calls me back later in day and asks me to take picture of meters that he forget and send them to him. He also increased the price of the estimate. I was s bit apprehensive of company and rep at this point.

I would leave a zero if I could. My ire is with their sales staff and after reading other reviews here, there is a common theme. Late for appointments and quotes that are never generated, no pun intended. I went thru the Toledo Costco for a generator and was assigned Oak Electric as the contractor. I was very skeptical about this since I live 20 minutes to the Ohio border. Oak Electric is located in Waterford and the drive to my house is difficult and lengthy. Anyways, I had an appointment back in July of last year with Josh, who as you guessed it, was late. 3 hours late and only called me after I called the receptionist to inquire about his whereabouts. When he finally did show up, he had a poor attitude and I never did receive his generator quote. My gut tells me I didn't get the quote because he didn't think I could afford it. Gave my business to CRG Electric and wrote a check. I will commend Jessica who reached out to me 2 months after my appointment to follow up. I explained my disappointment with my experience and instead of disappearing she apologized, she also acknowledged the company dropped the ball here. Her customer relations skills are exceptional, the sales staff could learn and thing or two about communication by taking notes from her.

Good job in maintaining my Generac generator. My only "complaint" is the cost of a replacement oil pressure sensor switch. Not sure if it is Generac or Oak Electric but $175 seems excessive

Generator was installed with no issues and they came back right away when one the Generac non-essential components failed and replaced for free. We just lost power for 4 days and it works perfect. Did not have to do anything...Annual maintenance which Oak does and we are great. Thank you so much for everything...Best investment for our house...and your service is great. Generac equipment is working great as well.

Mixed feelings on our experience with Oak Electric. On one hand they are responsive and punctual, qualities that are increasingly difficult to find in a service company. Disappointed that we had to call them back to complete the installation of a ceiling fan after they left parts out. OK, things happen. Very disappointed that nearly a year after the installation of our generator we are still getting calls from the township to close out permits. A selling point for us going with Oak Electric had been the salesperson told us they'd handle all the necessary permits and be here during the inspection. Turns out this was only partially true. Communication on the process could be much better.

MAXIMUM EFFORT

From the sales rep to the installation, everything was done as advertised. Had the Generac 16k generator installed. House and work area was left as they found it, very clean. Would strongly recommend the company to anyone looking for a great job. Also, price was right in between all other companies that we called, about 6 different, all had different prices for the same product.

Called oak electric three times to get a quote to install a wind generator and get a quote for solar panels , the person who answered the phone all three times acted like she never heard of what I was requesting , all three times I was told she didn't know if they did this and would have to talk to someone else and have them call me back , never received a call back !! On there website it says wind and solar installers . Looking elsewhere, good luck with this company !! Zero stars !!!

I was getting quotes for a house generator from a couple of companies. Oak came out and quoted me just over $5,000 for a 9kw generator. The other companies said I needed an 11kw generator. I gave Oak another chance to quote, since their first quote was inadequate. A different salesman came and said I needed a 16kw generator at a price of just under $10,000! Obviously I chose another company who quoted the proper 11kw generator to take care of my needs. Hard to believe a company can have 2 quotes so different from their sales team, and both being wrong.

Our Generac 11K was installed April 25, 2017 by a three man crew from Oak Electric, Waterford, MI. They did a great job -- neat, efficient, friendly. I thought "now that we have a standby generator we probably won't have a power outage for 10 years." I was wrong. A week later we were out for three hours. We were out for dinner when it occurred, but returned home to garage doors that opened and a nice, warm home. Everything worked perfectly. Then a week after that we were out for another hour. This time my wife was home to experience the automatic switch over. She was impressed and happy.

We are very pleased with the work that was done. The Master electrician that came by for the initial visit was excellent in making recommendations given our home's unusual wiring. During the install, I came home and the generator was not placed exactly where I wanted it, about 2 feet off. I express my concern and they moved it without complaint. The final work was clean and we are pleased with the results. They even made it possible to upgrade the system later to expand our capacity at a later date, without extra cost. Our home is old and has had multiple additions, so it was not a straightforward install. I was recommend by a neighbor to use them, and I have now done the same.

The left side doesn’t know what the right side is doing. Run from this company and hire a competent company. This place is not professional at all!

We had a great experience with Oak Electric. The sales person gave us all the information we needed. When the install happened we were impressed with the steady updates by the installers as they worked through the process. There was very little time where we were without electricity and the neatness of their work was outstanding. They were the only company that offered to go through out basement and eliminate previous boxes no longer needed to make things look nice. The installers were very knowledgeable and answered every question we had. We also had another couple who are interested in a purchase that watched the install and they were impressed as well. i will continue to use Oak Electric for my maintenance.
