Had no hot water. Website advertises 24 hour emergency service on nights and weekends. Called on a Friday evening and was told earliest time they could come would be Monday morning. I asked about the website saying there was 24/7 service and was told that is not available. But it is all over their website. Went on the website and did the online chat and was told yes, we can send someone out soon. Asked what the cost was to have someone come and they refused to tell me. So I found another company who doesn't have a liar working in the office or someone on chat who refuses to disclose costs. Totally unprofessional.

I just had my electric heating and cooling system (heat pumps, air handlers, condensers) replaced by Rodenhiser. We bought a house with a low end electric system, and found out just how bad it was with some astronomical heating bills last winter. Rick Picard was the sales rep who came out a wrote me up a quote on the new system. Not cheap, but Rick helped me navigate the MassSave loans and rebates that are available for installing a new efficient electric system. Rick is a very knowledgeable and personable guy. I appreciated his candor, and recommend him highly. (I sought quotes from a few other outfits, but some didn't seem interested in helping me, and some were clueless--one rep called me a few weeks after promising me a quote he never delivered, to ask me if I was still interested in getting a quote from him! When I said yes, he assured me he would get right on it. I never heard from him again.) The two techs who did the install were Peter Geoller and Billy W. The install took 3.5 days, during which time I worked at home. Peter and Billy were courteous, friendly, on time, and obviously knew what they were doing. They put down drop-clothes and cleaned up thoroughly after they were done. Peter gave me updates each day on the progress they were making. I thought they were great. All in all I have had a great experience with Rodenhiser, and the individuals from the company I interacted with. The job was expensive, but was not out of whack with the other quotes I got and is probably reasonable for replacing the heating and a/c system in a fairly large house. And I feel as though we had quality equipment installed by competent professionals. I wholeheartedly recommend Rick, Peter, and Billy and the rest of the crew at Rodenhiser.

Joe S arrived promptly for our appointment for an AC check. He wore protective booties inside my home, and explained clearly what was involved in the maintenance check. Joe thoroughly cleaned the outside condenser. He checked that the condensate water was flowing freely outside before heading up to the attic where the air handler is located. Im sorry to say that it was extremely hot in the attic. Joe worked diligently there for at least an hour without complaint of heat! Afterward he went over everything with me. Joe S is an exemplary employee!!

I needed to replace my 22 year old A/C and furnace. I requested quotes from three (3) companies. The first company, who installed my previous unit, didn't bother to come out to look at the job. Their quote was outrageous and they quoted me middle of the line equipment. The second company seemed to be pushing equipment that was new to the market and didn't seem as they had a lot of presence in the market. Lastly, Ross P., from Rodenhiser stopped by to look at the job. The first thing he asked me was what I was unhappy with and what problems had I been experiencing with the units. He was very knowledgeable about several units and took the time to discuss other equipment quoted by other companies. He provided me with several quotes within minutes of our discussion. He also informed me that he would take care of contacting MassSave for me to set up free energy saving installations and start the ball rolling for my rebates on my new systems. Next came the calls to set everything up - just as Ross had informed me. They were extremely punctual and provided the information I needed to move things forward on my end. Finally, installation day came. My crew, consisting of Pat B., Alex C. and Tyler D. were unbelievable. They were on site for two (2) long days making sure the installation was done on time. A project manager arrived on day 2 to review the installation. A team of electricians also showed up on the 2nd day to connect the units. All were extremely polite, considerate of my house and very knowledgeable about their product and state code. In the event an issue arises in the future, Rodenhiser offers a service plan that is reasonable and is well below the cost of the previous company I had. I can't thank them enough for their efforts! Nate F. was an extremely polite and helpful technician that came to my home this afternoon. Although the appointment was only scheduled for a filter change, Nate took the extra time to explain to me what other services the company offers. He was very thorough with his explanation and he even helped me set up a combined heating/cooling plan. That way I was able to save money, I have emergency liability protection and even earned a coupon booklet! This was such a great promotion and I am glad I had the opportunity to learn more about my heating system. Once Nate removed my old filter, he realized that 1. I had some potential fire hazards surrounding the heating system and 2. I was LONG overdue for a maintenance cleaning. If it had not been for Nate’s immediate concern, I would have waited to call the office to schedule my appointment. Now the office will be contacting me to set up my maintenance appointment. I set up an appointment to have a technician come to my house to look at my furnace. The heat had suddenly stopped working and I could not figure out why. Ryan T. came on time and was excellent to work with. He was very thorough exhausting all possibilities as to why the heat had stopped working. He replaced one part and ordered another he did not have on his truck. He even drove back to headquarters (about 60 min round trip) to pick up several space heaters we could use in the event our furnace stopped working again, as we were about to get hit with a snow storm and zero degree temps in the coming days. I can't say enough good things about his service and professionalism.

Good experience overall, work was done well and as scheduled, cost matched the estimate. Every person I talked to and worked with from the company was professional and courteous, from the calls for scheduling, to the site visit for review and estimate, to the actual completion of the project. Might not be the cheapest plumber you can find but you get what you pay for here, which is quality work and the feeling of a valued customer. We are happy with the results and we plan to use Rodenhiser for future plumbing projects.

Must be great to work in an industry where business is so good you never have to be concerned with expanding your customer base, doing things like following up. I contacted Rodenhiser on 2/4/19 looking to get an estimate on the replacement of the flexible duct work in my existing A/C system due to mold damage. The contact in the online chat session, kept referring to my request as duct cleaning despite my repeating several times, I was looking to replace the flexible duct work. They took my information and let me know I would be hearing back from someone shortly. I was skeptical that my request was going to be handled properly and that skepticism was warranted. I received an email on 2/5 from a customer service specialist, looking to schedule my (you guessed it) duct cleaning. I responded attempting to explain there was some confusion regarding my request and I was actually looking to have the flexible duct work replaced, if that was a service that Rodenhiser could provide. I never heard back. On 2/11, I sent another follow up looking for some feedback regarding my initial response. Crickets. I can understand that the replacement of duct work may not be a service that Rodenhiser provides, or is even interested in performing, but I cannot accept the lack of any kind of response. Totally unprofessional. At this point I have already hired someone else to do the work and will not be contacting Rodenhiser in the future, not that they care, that has been demonstrated quite effectively.

Long story short, after 5 different visits, thanks to the dedication and expertise of Joseph, Edward, Tyler, and Justin, the AC unit got fully operational for the summer season and works perfectly ever since.

Matthew K., installed a Lochinvar combi-boiler in our home last month and couldn’t have been more professional, friendly or conscientious. He and his personable assistant, Devon B, arrived on schedule followed by a team that promptly removed the old boiler and hot water tank. Matt and Devon then completed the installation in two efficient well coordinated days with the plumbers and electricians arriving on-site as needed. Matt K. kept us informed along the way , answered our questions, and used an auxiliary tank so we always had hot water. For a major installation there was surprisingly little disruption. Matt and his team did a great job and we enjoyed having them in our home.

Just had two comfort toilets installed. Rodenhiser professional as always. Mike Pitner also fixed my garbage disposal. He wasn't there for that but upon examination he explained it had tripped its own fuse. Took him only a minute, and I figured it was dead and would require another service call. Thanks again Mike! Pete was first rate. He completed our new central A/C system install and the quality/workmanship was top-notch. I was a bit of a perfectionist during the install, and Pete was willing to completely re-do a return duct install because I wasn't 100% satisfied with the placement of the duct, no additional charge. Our cat got stuck in the intake duct of our heating system. We called Rodenhiser and the office was kind and sympathetic to our problem and said they could have somebody at our house in a couple hours. Alex arrived before the two hours was up and set on trying to get our cat free. After an 1.5 hours of removing end caps and trying to cut away the sheet metal of the ducts we rescued our cat and then Alex put everything back together just like it was when he got here. Watch your wallet. Rodenheiser, the "pricey plumber" is deserving of the name.. I had particle matter coming from hvac vents. Rodenheiser's tech upon arrival was impatient, had no explanation for the cause of the issue but was very willing to quote overpriced "solutions" consisting of duct cleaning and Airseal treatment of ducts. When i had a true professional take a look the answer was simply the duct work was poorly installed. This pro went to the attic and took pictures showing me the open spacing in duct joints permitting insulation and dust to access the ducts and blow into the house. Problem solved... What really prompted me to write this review was the fact that the Rhodenheiser tech could obviously see this same problem, chose to ignore a true assessment and solution in lieu of trying to sell a $5000 package that would have had no beneficial effect whatsoever.

Rodenhiser just finished installing a mini-split HVAC system in my home. My wife and I have been very impressed with their service from start to finish. I had a very positive experience with Rodenhiser! I called to get a diagnostic and quote on my oil furnace, which is decades old and had stopped working. Gary came out the next day and took a look at it, letting me know that it was clogged and needed cleaning. Because I live in a rental unit, he worked with me and with my landlord to figure out what the best solution was. He informed us what the cost of a new furnace would be but wasn't pushy about selling us on it, which I appreciated. We ended up agreeing just to clear the clog, and in a week Gary was back with Don and they fixed up the furnace just perfectly. It works like a charm now! My A/C has been accumulating water in the secondary (emergency) drip pan since it was installed a few years ago by a different company. Water should not accumulate in that pan unless there is a problem. The original installer has gone out of business, so I called Rodenhiser. They came the next day and diagnosed the problem. When the replacement part arrived a week later, they installed it. The problem was not completely fixed, though, because something else also turned out to be wrong. A different Rodenhiser technician came and fixed that, at no extra charge of course. The problem now seems to be fixed. The A/C has been working hard during 90F days with no water in the secondary pan. The technicians were efficient and didn't hesitate to explain the problems and what they did to fix them.

I too like the previous poster had reached out to rodeniser plumbing through their email request page on their website in regards to doing a bathroom remodel involving some tie ins on pre existing rough drains and supply lines along with some other fixture replacements. I do not really think these good reviews are meaningful at all. I called them for a gas furnace service. The schedule was quick and the technician was nice but not necessarily knowledgeable enough. The technician came and checked the furnace and suggested me replacing my 18 year old system for 16K-20K or at least to replace the motor and the zoning for $3300. I was charged for his trip and diagnosis for over $125. After he left, I called a local HVAC service shop and they came in about half an hour and went to get me a new motor and fixed the problem, which cost me only 1/5 of the quoted price from Rodenhiser Plumbing, Heating, And Electric. Their pricing is ridiculous.

I often find it uncomfortable with work people roaming throughout the house for several days, but these Rodenhiser workmen moved like mice, quietly and unobtrusively, and I never minded their presence.
