I was surprised at his willingness as many contractors would be putting up a fuss and demand some sort of compensation. We had Luis and Wayne from 128 out to do some retro-fitting of a couple new air supplies. Our house is very old and it can be difficult to upgrade things but they did an AWESOME job! Within two weeks, a project supervisor had come out and given us a reasonable assessment of the work and had us on the schedule a week later. They showed up right on time the morning they were scheduled to do the work and were very quick, careful and thorough in their work! We're loving our new heat/AC vents into the kitchen and living room.

We requested a service call because our air conditioning system was not working. Darren arrived on time and provided a thorough examination of the system, explaining clearly the problems with it. Because the system is 50 years old (yes, 50!), we decided not to invest money into fixing it and asked Darren to help arrange an appointment for an estimator to come by to propose what is needed in a new system. He got on the phone immediately and we had someone -- Mike S. -- arrive within an hour. Within another hour, Mike presented a thorough analysis of the situation and made two proposals, explaining each. Having gotten estimates from other companies, we signed a contract on the spot. Compared to other companies that tried to add unnecessary costs (for example, replacing duct work that is perfectly fine), Mike did not do so. In the case of the ducting, he indicated that it looked good and there was no need to spend the extra money. We strongly encourage your consideration of 128 Plumbing, Heating, Cooling Electric when the need arises at your home.

I've used 128 before and was quite satisfied with the responsiveness and the result. This recent call was less satisfying. I was first disappointed that I was not contacted about the delayed arrival time. Beyond that, I found the plumbing repair cost to be very expensive in relation to time and materials necessary to complete the work. I might have opted for more services had the basic cost estimates been more in keeping with my expectations.

Received the same level of service we always do from 128. We were dealing with a rather complex water leak. A leak that we weren’t sure exactly where the source was. They came up with solutions to stop the leak in the master bath area while still allowing us to get water to the rest of the house. They also dealt with the moronic company that kept sending the wrong parts to fix the leak. Kudos to 138 especially to Matt the plumber. Level-headed guy who always put us first and was compassionate to the issues we were facing. Thanks also to Paul and even Dave the owner for coming how to help us solve the issue

I had a negative experience with 128 Plumbing. They were sent to my home as part of MassSave to do free basic maintenance on my boilers and to remediate a CO2 and CO drafting issue. The technician (who I won’t name out of respect for privacy) looked at the system and showed me that the chimney vent was blocked by about 5 inches of dirt that had settled at the bottom of the chimney. He then said it would be $1200 to unblock it and do the maintenance. I opted instead to unblock it myself, which took 5 minutes with a garden spade. At that point the technician refused to do the maintenance he had been sent for and refused to rerun the drafting tests to see if the problem was fixed. He then accidentally pulled my doorknob off the handle on the way out and didn’t fix it. On the positive side, the people booking appointments there were very polite and responsive. I just wish I had a better experience with the visit to my home.

We have had off and on issues with our heating system that the company we had been using was unable to fix, despite multiple repairs. We decided we needed fresh eyes to take a look and called 128. We were able to get a same day appointment at no extra charge (not booked as an emergency visit) and Darren arrived promptly at the time we were told. Within 30 minutes, maybe fewer, a new issue was identified! The fix appears to be straightforward, thankfully, but was not obvious to our other repair person (which cost us a lot of money, likely on needless work)--so glad we picked 128 for the job! Darren was professional, courteous, offered explanations of his work and the specifics of our furnace that were understandable by someone not in the business, and did it all with a smile. We are very grateful and plan to use 128 going forward!

Norm was our on-site "service pro" for the day, when he performed annual maintenance on our Lochinvar boiler. He patiently and competently answered all my questions, told me exactly what maintenance he would perform, and even showed me the inside of my boiler, post cleaning. Although I am not a boiler expert, it appeared he did a thorough job and I'd be happy if 128 Plumbing sent Norm our way again. We were having trouble with our heat (not an emergency but something that definitely needed to be fixed) and called a couple of weeks to schedule someone to come out and take look. Daren was on time, professional, and very helpful. He took at a look at our heating system, fixed the issue, installed a Nest for us while there, and let us know about a couple of other issues with the water boiler that we may need to address in the future. We worked with a different HVAC company previously and had a very negative experience with them, so this level of professionalism, courtesy, and quality of service was very appreciated. We will definitely be using 128 again in the future and will recommend them to all of our friends.

Scheduling was a bit of a pain as the receptionists had to pass my request along to someone for a callback, but if I missed that person's call I had to call the main number again instead of the service rep directly. Phone tag aside, the work done was great. Dom was knowledgeable, friendly, and worked efficiently to complete the repairs. Afterwards, he left the work area impeccable. There's not much else to say besides he did a great job.

I was promised a recepit, never happened. The crew left their tools and a rag behnd at my house. Also right after introducing themselves they aggressively upgraded my service contract. When the person called to check on the visit, I told them this and she told me she was sorry that happened and hung up. I'd avoid this shop like the plague.

Matt was my technician. He arrived early and did a fantastic job. He repaired my outdoor spigot quickly and correctly. Matt had the necessary part already in his van. He explained in detail all that was done. I would recommend Matt for any job. It was more expensive than expected, but that price comes 128 plumbing, not the plumber. You can likely save a few bucks somewhere else, but the service and quality of work likely will not be as good as what I received today.

I'm really torn on this place. They are prompt, professional, clean, friendly, have great communication and are even great with kids and dogs. However, the prices seem very, very high. 128 Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, & Electric has quite a few great faces. Most recently Charlie came out to assist us with a stuck/leaking shut off to our irrigation system. Much like most things in our house, the area he had to work with was tiny but he waved it off and happily said, "There's plenty of room." He provided me with a full explanation of all the things "going on" in that cabinet, the various parts around it, what they do and what was broken or could likely use a touch up. He then let me decide what needed to be done. He wasn't pushy, wasn't insistent on anything. He was just a patient, informative partner in making our decision. When we had come to a conclusion, he quickly got down to work and not only seemed to finish in moments but also didn't leave a mess and actually left the area looking better than when he got there. I truly appreciate all the people we've worked with at 128. Charlie's been out to our place twice for plumbing work and he's always been courteous, informative and straight forward. I appreciate him and the other great people from 128 and would recommend them any time for plumbing, heating or cool needs. UPDATE: 5/10/2019 This week Paul and Levi were out to replace the boiler and hot water heater. This was another 128 success! Not only do we now have heat again fully throughout the house but we also replaced a failing hot water heater we didn’t know we had AND moved the entire thing to a more accessible location and made it look like a thing of beauty! I continue to be impressed with the people at 128 and look forward to additional projects in the future.

As a first-time home owner and novice to all things heating/cooling systems-related, I had a lot to learn and was overwhelmed with the myriad of options to choose from. Out of the several quotes I received from different companies via the ‘Greater Boston- Best Pick Reports’, Morgan spent the most time with me (over 1 hour) patiently explaining, and re-explaining all the options. As this was also my first time using Mass Saves, I was worried about how long the process could potentially take since I was embarking on a major overhaul and wanted to get this done before the dreaded Wintertime (Oil to Gas heating conversion, Oil Tank Removal, Furnace/ Central AC/ Tank less Water Heater Installation, Old Water Heater Removal etc). With this in mind, Heather and Leslie were very responsive in shepherding my completed Mass Saves application ---- all in all, I was amazed that it only took about 2 weeks for my Mass Saves application to be approved and for my Lender to approve me a loan in order to get the work scheduled/started! My installation ran for 6 days, with Frank leading a team of 3 guys while Dave and Morgan stopped by to check in on the overall progress. Frank, Paul and team were very courteous, professional, efficient, and knowledgeable in all aspects of the work involved--- I appreciated that they tidied up, put floor covers in the indoor space, and ensured that all my doors/windows were locked after each work day. Glenn has been great in communicating all the scheduling logistics, and aside from waiting on a City Inspection Certification and Gas company meter upgrade, my condo is up and running for whatever the weather will bring! I wouldn't hesitate to use 128 again for any heating/cooling needs as their team rises to the occasion on building consumer trust, and providing great customer service!
