The phone conversation was professional and polite. I needed parking lot lights fixed. I asked if they had a bucket truck to access 25 feet. they did not, but use a scissor lift. I was told I would receive a call back. Never received the call. Not getting the call back influenced me to call some one else. Based on the reviews I guess it was an off day.

They have done exterior lighting, power and lighting for a detached garage and a superb job on our Generac generator installation. Debbie, our electrician, answered all of our questions and suggested numerous options that would not only meet the coding requirements but also look sharp as part of our porch project. Debbie easily handled some necessary troubleshooting due to existing wiring issues. We are very pleased with the final product and plan to use this company for any future electrical work. Can't say enough great things about Tri Star Electric! Had called another outfit (DMV) who never called me back. Called Tri Star and they ended up sending a crew out that same day (Dustin was the senior guy and he had a helper named Kirby). My Honey-Do List was overflowing with electric work and Dustin nailed 'em all, including fixing 2 outside outlets that had stopped working, troubleshooting a particularly problematic track light unit over our kitchen sink, AND figuring out and fixing two "dead outlets" that haven't worked in the 4 years since we bought our home! We've found our Go-To Electrician in Columbia. UPDATE: I asked for a price on running power for a ceiling fan in our master bedroom, and Dustin left us a detailed but easy to read estimate with 3 options/price levels that he also patiently talked me through before leaving. Don't know that this is standard treatment, but this guy went over and above the entire time he was in our house. On everything he did. And managed to do it while consistently mentoring his young helper. "This why you call a professional." My wife is SO happy those kitchen lights are working again.

Just had these guys over to do some wiring in the house. They showed up right when they said they would. Had things wired up very quickly. The guys were very polite and definitely knew what they were doing. I'll call them again. Their communication was excellent too. When I first called, I asked if they could do the work the next day. They said they were booked, but that they'd call around noon and let me know if they might be able to fit it in because things might go quickly. Right around noon, they called just as they said they would.

Tri-Star has gone beyond the call of duty! I had ceiling fans installed by the builder and started to have issues with one of the fans. The store where I bought the fans has a relationship with Tri-Star so I called Tri-Star to fix the fan. Tri-Star has done everything they can do to get the fan to appropriate working order - it took several visits but it is finally done. I was charged for the first visit but not the subsequent visits so Tri-Star was more than fair in terms of their charge for repair. While they were here, they looked at my other fans as well to confirm they all had the appropriate screws and bolts and did find problems with two other fans and they way they were installed. Their approach to customer service is great and I have other work needing to be done and will be using Tri-Star for sure.

TriStar is awesome!! A track light that I brought from Ikea about 8 years ago stopped working. After replacing the light switch I realized it was the light itself. Ikea no longer makes this model. It was very difficult to find a similar track light that matches the décor of my kitchen. TriStar replaced the transformer and now the light is working as good as new. Candice Malone Columbia, MD

Scheduled time was between 7 and 8am they showed up right at 7. Chris and Kirby were the techs they were both friendly and very helpful. Pointed out and fixed a few other things I had overlooked. Scheduling was very easy with Greg. They were more than accommodating. Will absolutely call them again should I need electrical work.

We have used Tri-Star several times at two houses over the years for rewriting, putting in can lights in the whole house, adding electrical outlets, panel upgrades, adding a generator, etc. They are always on time, professional, and get the job done right. Even our County Inspector told us he knows they do great work and we passed our inspections with no issues. Greg and Debbie are awesome. We have worked with several other trades companies over the years and our experience with Tri-Star has been far and away the best customer service we have ever experienced. Rates are also very reasonable. I recommend these guys every time I hear someone has a project then need and will continue to come back.

I can't thank them enough for everything they did for my client and I , they really went above and beyond the call of duty to deliver exceptional customer service. TriStar did a great job replacing circuit breaker boxes in my house and my garage, running two new external sockets, re-routing the electric meter power cables coming into the house, and running new underground power lines for the garage which is separated from the house by 50 feet. From the job estimate done by the owner, to the care and responsiveness of the office crew chief, to the courteous and professional workers, everything was done to my satisfaction. I will definitely use them in the future.
