We have always turned to Michael & Sons for our plumbing, electrical and HVAC needs over the last 16 years, and techs like Jonathan are the reason why.

If I could give a -100 Review I would! This is the worst managed and operated company I have ever dealt with. I took off a half day of work to meet a technician for an appointment between 3-6. After calling and verifying that they were coming several times; they called at 6:00 and canceled. So, I called and was finally told so to the mix up that a technician would be at my home and would do the job at 8-9 in the morning. So, I took off a second day of work. At 8:30 I called and they said that I was scheduled and that the person needed to refill his truck and be there by 10. At 10 I called and was told I was not the first dispatch and they would be there between 11-2. (So, now I could have gone to work half day.) At 10:45 I get a call saying they are 20 min away. At 11 I got a call from the technician asking were I was in which I said, “Home”. He proceeded to ask me to verify my address which I had already done 100 times prior to every customer service person, manager, dispatch person, and head of dispatch that I spoke with. The technician then says that he was dispatched to a warehouse in Virginia (about an 1.5 hours away) and that they will have to reschedule. Every time I spoke with someone I got a different story and clearly no one knows what they are doing. I am glad I did not rewire my kitchen with them; if the technicians are as bad as the rest of the staff my house probably would have blown up!!!! I left out of course that I am in the middle of a remodel and I needed a whole rewire of my kitchen...so all work was halted waiting for them. I contacted another electrician and they sent two people out right away and bent over backwards to help.

But even most than that, I was absolutely impressed how he educated me on the system involved and what it entailed. As a non-expert, I often do not understand the system and what it needs. Mr. Bah did that --- but he also did it brilliantly. I was totally impressed with his assessments for my future needs and the amazing way he educated me on various options for the gold and silver home agreements for the future. My HVAC service was scheduled for the 2pm-6pm window. I received a call from dispatch at 4:22 to let me know that the technician was running late, but I would be the next stop for him. At 6:45pm the Technician had not yet arrived so I call M&S to get a status. I was told that he had not completed his other job but that I was next on his list. At 7:38pm the technician still had not arrived. I received a call informing me that the technician would arrive in about 30 minutes. This would put his arrival more than two hours outside of the scheduled service window. I was called by the M&S dispatcher at 8:27pm and told that the technicians vehicle had been side-swiped at the prior location and that the technician was waiting for the police to arrive. I was then given the option of allowing the technician to still come out after the police came and filed a report, or reschedule for the next day. I re-scheduled for the next day (a Saturday) during the 10am - 2pm window. The technician arrived around 2pm. Even though I took the afternoon off work and did not get my HVAC service, the good side to the story is that once the technician arrived on the next day I received good service. He was courteous, professional, and did a great job. I was very pleased with the technician and the service. My suggestion is that M&S do a better job of scheduling and sticking to those schedules so that customers like me don't have to take time off work or otherwise waste time waiting around for Technicians that never show up.

Only problem which wasn't his fault but the fault of the main office is that we didn't even no he was coming, luckily we were home at that time of day. Your HQ for years is not on same page as tech & its kind of interesting that when I called to make a appointment you can never come out the times I need you too. This is for the tech only not for the rest of your company.

The service provided by Mr. Christopher George Mwombela was outstanding. He was thorough, precise and extremely knowledgeable about some issues that I raised with him. He completed the work in a timely fashion and summarized his activities, more importantly, advised that my heating system was in excellent shape operationally. A matter unrelated to Mr. Mwombela's great service, is the poor customer relations exhibited by Michael & Son Services. I was previously scheduled for service earlier in the week and at the conclusion of the timeframe to which I was scheduled, I received a telephone call indicating that because a number of customers had telephoned complaining about lack of heat, a decision was made to cancel my appointment and that I should call back to reschedule. On October 10, I was scheduled for service between 8am-12 noon. Unfortunately, I was required to cancel a previously scheduled medical appointment because the serviceman was not able to arrive before 3:00 pm. I do not understand how customers can feel pleased about the manner in which someone in management makes such ridiculous decisions and think that customers should not be annoyed by them. Management: PLEASE PUT YOURSELF IN THE CUSTOMER'S POSITION AND DETERMINE HOW YOU WOULD REACT TO SUCH TREATMENT. WE ALL MATTER AND SHOULD BE HIGHLY RESPECTED!!!

I had three different repairmen come to my condo as part of my annual service package and each one of them was professional, courteous and thorough with their inspection and recommendations making sure I knew which were important to consider in the near future and which were for me to think about later. I love that they cover their boots as they come in and out of your house to ensure they don’t dirty your floors and rugs. All in all in my several years of using their service I have not had a single complaint or concern I should add that their great costumer service begins when you get any of their people on the phone. I called the office around mid-day and explained the problem with my furnace . The dispatcher whom I spoke with was very pleasant, professional, and efficient. She asked if she could send a technician to my home on the same day, and I agreed. Within 2 hours, the technician called my house to say that he was about 20 minutes away and was on his way. Upon his arrival to my home, the technician ( Mr. Kevin G.) was very professional and friendly, placing the mat down on my front porch, and putting on his plastic shoe covers prior to entering the home. He asked me to explain the problem that I was having with the furnace, and I did so. He then explained to me the pricing for the service call prior to his work, and I agreed. The technician was able to quickly diagnose the problem, and to give me a price for fixing it. I agreed to the price, and he began to fix the problem. At every step of the process, the technician explained to me what he was doing and how it would address the problem with the furnace. He was thorough and communicated clearly and effectively. The technician took time to do the job right, and cleaned up after the job was completed. At the end of the service, he carefully went over the invoice with me and checked the furnace one final time to make sure that it was working properly. Overall, I was very pleased with the job and would recommend the services of this company and I applaud the professionalism of the technician ( Mr. Kevin G.). Excellent customer service!

When I had to call you because my Heating was not working. The repair man found that the "over heat" switch turned the heating off. The reason he said was air not moving quick enough. So he INCREASED the fan speed. Today when the AC person came to check the A/C unit, I requested him to reduce the fan speed since it seems too noisy. HE TOLD ME that THE FAN SPEED CAN'T be changed. SO, WHO IS CORRECT? Do all your maintenance people read the SAME BOOK? Get the same lessons? Sing from the same music sheet?

We had out annual AC inspection today and Jose was a fantastic tech. Overall things were fine but he did bring some issues to our attention that would improve the function of our unit. We opted for coil/compressor cleaning and the installation of a new thermostat and we are both very pleased with the level of service and professionalism. After my initial positive review I discovered some very troubling issues with their service. The technician left me with a list of suggested corrections which I later found were incorrectly installed originally by Michael & Son. I also found the suggested replacement of a humidifier and purifier at a very large expense without consideration of replacing the burned out element at 1/4 of the cost. The technician said my HVAC units had no filters to change which I found to be incorrect when I looked at the manuals. I washed one filter and ordered replacement filters for the other. I stand by my original comments about the company but now am disturbed by the technicians competence and am reluctant to ever use them again.

The technician (Mr. Derek Bibbs), did an amazing job fixing my air conditioning (A/C) system. He was very thorough in his investigation when diagnosing the problem. Mr. Bibbs explained what the problem was and how he would be able to fix it. While fixing the A/C unit, he noticed that the wiring installed by my security company was not properly done. This caused the A/C system to stop working. He worked tirelessly to make sure it was running properly and that the house was cool before he left. It was 85 degrees in my home, so it was big relief to feel cool again. I could not go another night feeling miserable. Mr. Bibbs went above and beyond ensuring that I was satisfied with his work. Thank you Michael and Sons for sending out a qualified and attentive technician on the day that I called. That says a lot about your company. I will definitely recommend your company to my family and friends.

At one point, I started counting how many times he had to retreat to his van and re-enter from checking the blower outside and walking back up 4 flights of stairs. (Okay, it’s not 4 flights but sounds better), However, this is my point, even after I told himThat he didn’t have to cover his shoes - he insisted and made another 100 trips outside. Bought system in July 2018 and it continues to breakdown. Tech was courteous and apologized for my inconvenience. Like the techs before him the problem is temporarily solved. However, clearly the system is a lemon given that it has had at least 6 service calls. (Since it is an air system it has been used less than 6 months.) Be wary of the company's claims of superior service. This is a higher end system and the company has yet demonstrated even basic customer service.

Gerald H is a phenomenal electrician. My project was rather large and it required 3-4 days of work. Gerald took time to determine the issue, offer various solutions and he was able to successfully install two new electrical units as originally requested within a reasonable time frame and budget. Gerald was reliable, professional and he often worked 10 hour days in order to complete the job in a timely fashion. I am confident that I hired the best electrician for my project and I highly recommend Michael and Sons for future service.

I called last Friday to alert you of my HVAC not working. It took four days for a technician to show up. He showed at my front door at 10:30 pm. He diagnosed the unit. He said he had to order a part. It took five more days for him to show up with the part. He arrived yesterday to fix the unit. It worked for two hours and now is not working. To wait as long as I did, only to have my unit still not working is ridiculous! Now I have to call back to start this whole process all over again. No more new services from Michael & Sons Services!!!

Jon H. had a big job. Three clogged drains and replacing a disposal. First time calling Michael & Sons. He assessed the problems, explained the what he needed to do and the fees upfront. He also said that if he couldn't fix the problem I would not be charged. For $1k plumbing project that was good to know! (He also noted that M&S offers 12 mos 0% payment, but I did not apply for it.) It took several hours and he hauled in several different pieces of equipment. He also explained why I may be having difficulties with drainage in the bathroom (slope). I'll need to call them back to go deeper into the plumbing in the wall, but that's okay for a long term fix. Cleaned up perfectly. Jon's customer service and calm personality could not have been better. He's a great representative for the company! Ask for him!

Excellent customer service!! We had called several electricians to help with the install of a double wall oven. Each just said they couldn't help. But Jorge B. with Michael & Sons came out, and after inspecting our new unit & our cupboard, went the extra step to help us find a carpenter who could help remodel our cabinet. After the cabinet was sized properly, Jorge came back and installed our oven quickly. He was professional and extremely customer oriented making sure to answer any & all questions that I had. I recently contact them for electrical issues that I was having at my home. The tech came and conducted an assessment of my issue and provided me an estimate (that I later learned was highly inflated). Due to the high price of the estimate I contact the main office to discuss financing/payment options. I was told that my assesment had not been filled yet. I explained that I wanted to began the process of financing the service because the tech stated that that was an option. I was told that someone would call me back. No one ever did. I called back and eventually got someone who took a minute to look for my paperwork. I explained that I wanted to pay more then half and would like to make arrangements on the remainder of the balance. The entire conversation basically ended there. I was told of a web address of a company that conducts financing and told to go there. I inquired if the person that I was speaking with or possibly someone else there could provide me with further information but was not given any information. It has been sometime since my electrical issue was evaluated and to this day no one from this company has even attempted to contact me to determine if I even wanted to proceed with the repair. I'm not sure if this was a bad day/week/month at the company or not, but they don't have to worry about me ever calling again. I will also ensure that I offer my experience anytime someone inquires about there service.
