Long story short, our AC was broken due to an electrical issue. We jury rigged a way to turn it on, in the process, a breaker broke and half of our electric was out. I wanted a professional to come look at it fast for safety. Shelly was the most pleasant part of the experience. She was very nice and upfront about the $260 emergency service fee. I complied and the technician arrived within an hour. That's where the good experience ends. Once the technician arrived, I could already tell he was not happy that my call forced him out of his house (mind you, it was only 5:30pm). I began explaining to him our situation, to which he replied "I'm not staying here till midnight..." Not a good start. In order to even start working, he showed me a pricing chart for "diagnostics"...on top of our dispatch fee and not including the work to fix it! He said I would be the most expensive tier and threw out numbers left and right. I wish I could go back in time and ask him why my situation required the most expensive one, since all he did in the end was test some wires (which we already did), try to find where wiring went into our wall, and blame our contractors who apparently did a bad job. Nothing has been fixed and I was left with a quote for over $7k to bust open our ceiling and rewire the whole house. I won't be using this company again due to their grumpy technician and extremely high prices. Also, if your technicians aren't happy to come after hours, don't offer 24/7 service! *UPDATE* Jeff Katz with their Residential team gave me a call and could not apologize enough. He is issuing me a refund for the diagnostics test and offered to come out to personally check out our issues. For that, I have improved my review and appreciate their customer service.

I needed a charging charging station for electric vehicle. I scheduled an estimate within a couple days of the call. Eddie ame out to give an estimate. It seemed a bit high, but he could do it right away so I just did it. I was very satisfied with the work. I asked some questions about the bill over email and got very prompt answers. I needed a copy of the electrical permit for a state rebate application, and, again, got what I needed very quickly. Overall, a very professional job and very good customer service.

I had a wonderful first experience with Clinton Electric, so I was very disappointed when my second wasn't good at all. The electrician showed up without a ladder tall enough to access my ceiling fan (which is unusually high, but this was communicated in advance). I can understand a miscommunication, and would have been happy to have him return with the right equipment, but after insisting the installer must have made an error (the fan worked just fine for half a year) and without even checking the switch on the wall he insisted on payment for a service dall and left. Company policy does require a service fee, but also states that techs will arrive with the tools necessary to diagnose and do the job if desired. This was not the case. I had the problem resolved (which was the switch on the wall - easy to access) by another electrician.

The service is great, and the electrician finishes his work quickly and does a great job. We are signed up with the service plan and it saves on service calls. They will tell you what needs to be done, and that quote is good until you have the work done. We have an older home so the service plan is important to us. It really helps in scheduling work. When we bought our home, the inspector cleared everything. He missed several electrical and plumbing issues. We almost have them all fixed now. By late July, we will. The people at Clinton are all very friendly, helpful and easy to deal with, from the office staff to the electricians themselves. If you like your electrician, you can request him every time. Our electrician is Jordan and he’s great.

I had a really good experience with Clinton Electric, specifically with Luke. First the frustrating part...my appointment had to be moved twice because all the techs were busy at other jobs. This was a little disappointing, but no fault of Luke's. The good folks at the office agreed to credit me the $59 dispatch fee due to the inconvenience. So overall I was happy on that front. As for Luke, I couldn't have been more pleased. He was originally scheduled to do some general electrical work, but after inspection of my supply line and panel box he discovered some pretty serious potential issues. He not only took care of all my general needs, but gave me an overview and estimate of some critical work. Luke is a great guy, down to earth, and just cool to chat with. Thanks to Clinton and I look forward to doing more business.

I contacted Clinton Electric to check all of the outlets and switches in our home to ensure they were wired correctly. In addition, I needed a letter that verified the wiring met today's standards by a licensed electrician. Because this inspection was required based on the sale of my home we were under a very time frame. The inspection was completed, three switches were updated, and letter I needed was provided within one week of my request. The electrician was pleasant to work with, too.

We used to do business with this company and rely on them for our electrical needs, until a recent situation in which they intentionally tried to charge us over $1600 for a very simple hook up that another electrician (referred by a friend) charged us $185 for, and told us Clinton was blatantly trying to rip us off. Our technician Eddie was prompt, courteous, and professional. The scheduling process was simple and efficient. The job was completed satisfactorily. The reason this gets 3 stars instead of 5 is based on price alone. We had a bathroom exhaust fan replaced with new internal parts, all of which were supplied by me and the technician was on site for 45 minutes, yet the job was billed at $597. It was on a Saturday so I do appreciated a bit of a premium for weekend work, but that still seems outrageously high for 45 min of labor. Would seek alternative service providers based on that point alone. UPDATE: A representative from Clinton reached out to rectify my billing issue. It seems the incorrect code was used pursuant to the job completed and the invoice was revised. Updating my review to 5 stars.

The reason this gets 3 stars instead of 5 is based on price alone. We had a bathroom exhaust fan replaced with new internal parts, all of which were supplied by me and the technician was on site for 45 minutes, yet the job was billed at $597. It was on a Saturday so I do appreciated a bit of a premium for weekend work, but that still seems outrageously high for 45 min of labor. Would seek alternative service providers based on that point alone. UPDATE: A representative from Clinton reached out to rectify my billing issue. It seems the incorrect code was used pursuant to the job completed and the invoice was revised. Updating my review to 5 stars.

My husband called with the intention of telling them how absurd they were for wanting money for a bad faith quote, but the receptionist barely even listened to him before knocking the price to zero, as if the electrician routinely quotes that high above market value... as if to say, 'yeah, you caught us. Oops.' We wound up using KM Electric Services instead and paid about $125 for the fan installation.

This company has been nothing short of amazing until recently. I must say it is very unfortunate when one bad grape spoils the bunch. I have had nothing but pleasant encounters with everyone until I had the misfortune of speaking with Becky regarding my billing concern. She did not seem to have any idea what professionalism is nor did she seem to care that customer service is an important portion of business. She was very unpleasant and unprofessional on the phone with her insesent chewing like I interrupted her snack time. I have had several interactions with employees at this company and have never had an issue so this comes as an unpleasant surprise. Becky not only made me feel as though My business with the company was unimportant she left my questions unanswered. She is one employee I do not feel is an asset to the company. Russell contacted me in advance and showed up on time which is rare for other companies, but much appreciated. I didn't appreciate the fact that numbers were tossed at me left and right and that I was to sign up for any "monthly service" and that I was locked in for $442 before we even found out what the issue was. My GFI just needed to be reset but I couldn't locate it in my home. I was fine with the $60 flat fee just to come out but the additional fees/charges are outlandish. I'm very satisfied with the job that was performed and the professionalism that he displayed and am aware that it's not his fault but an issue that needs to be remedied with the company. I'd highly advise you to go elsewhere for service unless you have at least $500+ to blow.

Very poor experience. Clint came out, and said will email us estimate, I never recieved any call back. Had to call repeatedly to get an answer on what was going on. After a week, I got a call and they ended up telling us that he can’t do our job and if we really need to get work done from him, then he has come back again and we have to pay dispatch fee of $59 again and additional diagnostic fee of more then $250 get an estimate. When I called originally I was told, they would have to get a permit and do the work and then when we told Clint to pull the permit required by the city and then to do the work, he refused?!? We'd been having a problem where multiple rooms in the house were temporarily losing power. They sent someone out and he spent about an hour trying unsuccessfully to find the problem. For that I was charged $500. I called Clinton to complain and got a call back from the manager of the residential division. He was great, apologized profusely, and refunded my money. So not a great initial experience, but they definitely took responsibility and made it right.

Clinton Electric did some work for me for which I had some grievances. I recently received a phone call from the owner of Clinton Electric who was interested in listening to my complaint. The owner was very understanding and had agreed that things had been mishandled but has since made things right. I respect and appreciate the fact that the owner cared enough about his customers to make such a phone call. Things don't always go as planned but I'm very impressed with their integrity and customer service and I would use them again.

They were the only company to respond immediately on the platform regarding our request for level 2 EV charger installation at our residence. The technician, customer service, and general experience were on par with or better than other electricians from whom we received quotes. The quote, however, was astronomical. The other two quotes we received for this relatively simple project from reputable companies were $400 and $750. Clinton, however, quoted $1,700. This is well outside of the price range of this work, both in the Baltimore metro region and nationally. My recommendation is to always shop around, but expect high quotes from this company. For that reason, they will not be getting my business, nor will I recommend them to others. As a side note, I did significant research on this project, including independently pricing materials, and am very comfortable with electrical work. The only reasons I am not doing self install on this charger are the requirements to pull a permit in Baltimore City and have the work inspected, especially if you are hoping to get a rebate from the state or your electrical supplier. **EDIT** Clinton has replied, stating that Maryland offers a rebate of 40%, underscoring a bigger concern: they are up-charging and assuming customers will qualify for the rebate, which has limited funding from the state legislature. Definitely avoid this company.

I was having issues with an outlet in our master bath, and an exterior outlet. Clinton came the next day and fixed both issues very quickly. The electrician was very knowledgeable and friendly. I'm very pleased with the work. The only drawback is that they are very expensive for small repairs. The Company uses fixed pricing from a list of services. They charge a dispatch fee of $59 (no issue there). To perform a diagnostic (trouble shoot a problem) is a flat fee of $268. If the problem is "small" - it is included in that fee. If not - it will cost more. That fee applies whether it takes 15 minutes to fix (as was the case with our internal outlet), or five hours. The outside outlet was a separate issue, and therefore a separate diagnostic fee. The dispatch fee includes a 10 point safety inspection. The tech noted that we had a non-functioning smoke detector in our basement. He quoted us a fee of $130 to replace the smoke detector. In fairness, he quoted all fees in advance, so I was able to approve or decline each item before any cost was incurred. Their service is excellent, however, it comes at a premium price, which is why I gave them 4 stars rather than 5.

She scheduled me quickly at a time that was convenient with my work schedule and sent a picture of the electrician via text. Luke was very professional coming within the two hour window as specified. He not only fixed the problem, he recognized and alerted me to hidden dangers that I was unaware of so I was able to address those issues on the spot such as an outdated, non working electric smoke alarm, and unsafe outlets in the kitchen and laundry. Russell contacted me in advance and showed up on time which is rare for other companies, but much appreciated. I didn't appreciate the fact that numbers were tossed at me left and right and that I was to sign up for any "monthly service" and that I was locked in for $442 before we even found out what the issue was. My GFI just needed to be reset but I couldn't locate it in my home. I was fine with the $60 flat fee just to come out but the additional fees/charges are outlandish. I'm very satisfied with the job that was performed and the professionalism that he displayed and am aware that it's not his fault but an issue that needs to be remedied with the company. I'd highly advise you to go elsewhere for service unless you have at least $500+ to blow.
