I decided to install a Generac generator and contracted with Boyland. Boyland was organized, professional, and respectful of my home and time. The team was expert and efficient. The process included double-checks to ensure everything was installed perfectly and to VA code. Within two weeks of installation, a storm blew out power for 6 hours. The generator worked exactly as Boyland had said it would! I confess to doing a happy dance when my sump pump kept right on working (not to mention my lights, refrige, and wi-fi). Boyland Electric was contracted to install our new Generac 2200kw generator. The Boyland crew showed up on time and completed the job with great care and professionalism. The area where the new generator was installed was left clean--all materials, packaging and trash were removed. The electric panel and controls were well secured--even the inspector from WSSC stated that he could tell Boyland completed the installation because of the professional manner in which the gas lines were secured. The members of the Boyland crew were friendly, competent, and made sure that I understood how the new generator worked. They left the proper paperwork, owners manual and warranty information. Finally, we looked into generators many years ago, insisting on only Generac and could not afford to purchase one. I don't know how Boyland is able to sell and install Generac generators so affordably but we are happy that they were able to install this generator at a very affordable price. Not only that but this generator is large enough to power our entire home in a power failure. Thanks Boyland!

They had a competitive quote and they were by far the friendliest and best organized company that I talked to. Each step of the job was documented, explained, and completed perfectly. I had quotes from several other installers. One thing that I appreciate is that Boyland was the only company that advised me that my preferred location for the generator would not pass inspection. The other companies quoted a location that would have failed inspection and then I would have had to pay a couple thousand dollars more to move and reinstall the generator. Very impressed. I had another company “with great reviews” install my generator and they messed it up so bad that it destroyed so many electrical appliances in our house. I hired yet another company “with great reviews” and paid an arm and a leg to fix the issue and update our electrical panel. They fixed the issue but messed up the panel. So I was very weary of another company with great reviews but trust me these guys are the real deal. Justin is good. I like him a lot. Travis is brilliant. Their receptionists are amazing. A+!

Have a Generac Guardian 17kw that was installed in 2013 by Boyland. Has been running pretty much flawlessly since. Installation went well although although the guy who installed the electric panel failed to clean-up the floor below the panel (wire clippings etc.) but the rest of the job site was left in good condition. I complained about the debris and did receive an apology. I also had one GFI breaker in my panel and the new panel a GFI breaker was not installed. I pointed this out and they came back out promptly and installed a GFI I have used both JBI Electric and Boyland for routine maintenance. I did like that JBI gives a discount for a 2-yr maintenance contract (the yearly cost is the same as Boyland) but forget JBI, they never showed up on time and it was like pulling teeth to get them to come out to do the routine maintenance and you get attitude from the owner when you ask him about it. I switched to Boyland and have been happy with the routine maintenance service, they come out on time, are professional, leave the job-site clean. Linda in the admin office is very nice to work with. I can't comment on non-routine maintenance as my generator has not required any in the almost 6 years it has been in service.

Awesome, great service, signed up for their service after seeing their ad in a mailer, as our previous company was 3 hours away and charged us a ton to come do maintenance work.The Boyland tech was great I was home when he came to do the first service and as soon as he arrived and fired it up the tech said "this does not sound right" then immediately found that the original installer had installed a wrong part (wrong type of fuel intake), and installed the right part no additional charge! Both the original installation company and the previous service company missed that! My generator runs great now, thanks!.

The line-item detail in the proposal to install our Kohler generator knocked me out--I don't think we've ever seen one with that much information. It's a sign of real professionalism. The installation went smoothly. The crew decided to route the gas, power, and control lines along a different path than in the original plan. To avoid having three thick tubes running across our garage ceiling, they ran them them up the garage walls into the space above the ceiling and then back down and out of the house. It's much neater, and we appreciate their creative and thoughtful approach. Because of new WSSC requirements for protecting the gas pipe, final approval took a few days longer than anticipated, but that wasn't Boyland's fault, and we now have an operational generator. Katy in the office and every member of the crew--Travis, John, and the rest--have been a pleasure to work with. We will continue the relationship by having Boyland do the regular maintenance.

I could not ask for a more pleasant and professional experience. A permanent home generator is an expensive investment but one I felt I needed. By recommendation from a relative, I called Boyland. They were consistently on time, courteous, thorough, and the definition of professionalism. I had researched prices from various sources and Boyland quoted me an excellent and very agreeable final price. Everything was explained and listed in great detail so that there were never any surprises. After delaying a final approval for six weeks, Baltimore Gas and Electric informed me that my current gas supply would not handle the generator and wanted to charge me an obscene fee to replace my supply pipes. Boyland tirelessly corresponded with BG&E to explain that this was not necessary. Eventually, BG&E relented and I did not have to pay any additional upgrade charges. Many thanks to Doug Boyland, Katy, Linda and others who took up the cause and helped me through a frustrating situation. In the office, Katy always handled my numerous calls and emails with a pleasant and optimistic attitude. Eventually, everything was installed and tested as promised. I was consistently pleased with every person I dealt with at Boyland - from office to installers - a great group of people. They handled everything from A to Z. All I had to do was write the check. I will have no hesitation in referring anyone to Boyland Electric.
