First, Integra was the only electrician who advertised 24x7, 365 service and actually had someone answer the phone on a Sunday - and they were super nice! (It’s Wednesday and I still haven’t heard back from one of the places I called.) Integra had someone out the next day. Jacob was on time, thorough, patient and very nice. The costs were clear and up front. He explained everything well and answered all of my questions. He had several things to repair due to damage to our house being hit by lightning. He made sure he thoroughly checked everything, fixed everything and left us feeling safe! I will definitely use Integra again.

Very knowledgeable, straight forward explanation and breakdown of the costs involved. He came back with Ben and they bypassed the dead wire to fix my light. Only charged me for the diagnosis the second time and after the repair, as would be appropriate in this case and was appreciated. Great folks who I recommend for help with your electrical work.

From my call to set up an appointment, to the service provided, I have just one word - Wow! I called Integra to install Nest smoke alarms. Shaylee took my call at Integra and she was a breath of fresh air, so kind and helpful - I asked a lot of questions. I was able to get an appointment quickly and at a convenient time. My electricians were Spencer and Nick. They were probably the kindest, most respectful young men I've ever met. They knew where the detectors should go, including specifically per fire codes and regulations as it relates to steam, proximity to furnace, attaching to ceilings with peaks, etc. They even went above and beyond to connect the detectors on my phone app to ensure they were working properly via the home wireless system. Spencer and Nick are a good team and work well together. Things that impressed me besides their expertise: Their prices are reasonable and fair. They send you a text when they are on the way, they send you their picture/bio so you know it is a company representative, they wore protective shoe coverings, and even used a rug to put their equipment on to protect the house flooring. A safety check is also done prior to services commencing. The company also makes a follow-up call to ensure that all work was done satisfactorily. This is a well-trained staff and I will not hesitate to contact Integra again. It is obvious their customer is valued and stellar service is a top priority.

Jacob did a fabulous job of installing two ceiling fans, even vacuuming when he finished. He arrived on time and was very personable to work with. I felt he knew what he was talking about. The only reason this gets 4-stars instead of 5 is that the company likes to sell you things. I could have spent $2000+ on some offered services. They may have been good things to have, but.... Nothing was related to an immediate safety issue. Cost of the installation was pretty high, too. But I paid for not searching around and getting quotes from other electricians.

Jacob did a great job. He was very courteous, professional and explained all of our options and gave some recommendations for safety upgrades. Jacob even offered a free home inspection to ensure we had no other issues throughout our almost 20 year old home. While discussing prices the quote we were given was $262. I asked him if everything was included in that price (parts, labor, fees, ect.) and he confirmed that it was. When the service was complete and I went to pay my total was $331. I asked him why there was a difference from the quote and he stated it was the service fee of $69. Did I not ask if everything was included? Furthermore, the part that was replaced costs $20, on the high end, at a hardware store (most electric companies will mark parts up about 15%). The average rate in Iowa for an electrician is around $80 an hour. So what did I find out, the "Free" home inspection and the time it took Jacob to explain the options to me were no additional charge, but the hour and half it took him to do those things were charged in the way of an hourly rate. I think this company has the ability to be great, but I think there are hidden fees, and misinformation about what you are really paying for. If I had known I was going to pay an additional $150 I would have declined the "free" not so free home inspection. Furthermore we were offered to be part of their "preferred customer plan", meaning we pay a fee of $10 a month, their work would be guaranteed for life and we would be 'first in line' if we needed work done. The owner told my husband he stands behind his employees and their work, then why do I have to pay an additional $10 a month for a guarantee? Shouldn't you stand behind their work without the additional $10 guarantee? Great work performed, but the hidden fees and "free" offers ruined the experience for us. The quotes provided ranged from $262 to over $4000. We were told we didn't have smoke detectors in our bedrooms, which we do. When I told the technician about it and he removed the 3 smoke detectors it dropped the price $1000. I have NEVER seen a $333 smoke detector for a residential home. Those smoke detectors better pull my sleeping children out of their beds and bring them outside for $333.

We’ve called on integra to install electrical for our hot tub, exterior lights and many any other projects. Last winter a car hauler knocked out our power from the street to the house and damaged the conduit down to the electrical box. All the techs were busy on other jobs when I called, so the owner of the company came out after hours to meet with the power company and sort it out. They completed their repairs so power could be reconnected then Jacob stayed until after 8pm to verify everything was working. They gave us different options on every project. I was referred to them by a company who was installing an air conditioner unit for me. I asked them to come out to install a breaker, wire, and shut off for the new air conditioner. Once they got to the house, Ben carpenter spent 2 hrs trying to sell me $8,000 worth of work that I didn't need, using scare tactics and high pressure sales techniques. That's twice as much as the new air conditioner. At the end of it, to do simply what I needed, they charged me $2000, at least twice what the job was worth. I did it anyway because I didn't have time to find and schedule another electrician. Integra will never set foot on my property again, and I cannot reccomend them to anyone. Later when my other company was installing my air conditioner, the technicians told me that they had a lot of problems with Integra not installing correct equipment and installing equipment incorrectly. This caused alot of heating and cooling equipment to fail. Update: They called me back and tried to sweet talk me into changing my review. They tried to tell me that they charged more because they provid better service than anyone else, such as not leaving a mess. But that's exactly what they did, they left a mess for me to clean up. Every thing they said made them better, they failed at. Please note that my current breaker panel is up to code and perfectly safe and the cheapest option they offered was not up to code and would not pass inspection. In fact the outlet they installed outside next to the air conditioning unit did not pass inspection. It was supposed to be a GFI outlet which is not what they installed. You would think that a competent electrician would know these things.

As soon as I spoke to someone on the phone, I felt confident in Integra. The woman who set up my appointment was friendly, chatty, and got everything set up right away. The window of my appointment time was 10-1, and near 12:30, I began to worry since I hadn’t heard anything - but Jamie called to say my tech was running late and would be there no later than 1:30. By 1:05, I received texts to let me know Ben was on his way and he arrived shortly. I appreciated that the text sent a small blurb about Ben and his photo, so I knew who to expect. Once Ben was here, we discussed the issue and I was immediately at ease with him - super friendly, knowledgeable and confident. He didn’t try to oversell me, but gave me several options (including the expensive ones) for fixing our main issue and then some potential issues down the road. There was no pressure at all! When we discovered a compatibility issue with one of the upgrades, he uninstalled it and took the charge off my bill with apologies and zero sass. I had great service and wonderful experience with Integra, I will be calling them the next time I’ve got electrical needs!

Phone Jacks are probably a thing of past as we moved from an 1890 home into a 2013 home without land line jacks.
