Brian was very helpful! About half of our lights weren’t working and he fixed the problem quickly during the safety check. We were only charged for the service fee, which was a great relief after being quoted by another company for $10,000 to rewire the entire house. Brian noticed the problem was just a loose wire and some corrosion in the breaker and quickly fixed the loose wire during the safety check. Brian provided information in an easily understandable way using pictures taken of our breaker panel. I’m very happy with the efficient, cost effective, and professional service!

Nice people but in the end they did not fix my repair and simply left. I have an electric baseboard heater they installed a few years ago that no longer heats my room in the winter. When they first installed it, it would heat my room in 5 minutes to 100 if I wanted in the cold of winter. It worked great for 18 months. Last winter it would only heat my room to 64 after about 2 hours. Had to use space heaters. They said it was fine because the heater gets warm. But getting warm when it’s 85 degrees out is not why I called them in. I think the thermostat is broken.

I found McCormick Electrical highly rated on both HomeAdvisor and Angie's list so contacted them. I needed a major upgrade on wiring/main service to house/ and electric panel for a neglected 1908 rental house I purchased right next to my own home. My initial contact with the McCormick office was friendly, professional, and very informative. I got an appointment in just 2 days at my time of preference. Then I received multiple notifications prior to the service call confirming the date/time and name of technician, Brian, coming to my home, and an email/text with a photo ID of Brian. When he arrived I showed Brian the electrical inspection report/issues from the house purchase, he reviewed that, did his own full inspection, and then laid out multiple service options for me ranging from the most to least expensive. A "no-dicker" final price was clearly listed for each, no matter what other issues, difficulties, time, etc. he might run into for the proposed work. This allowed me to decide whether to have the whole project done at once, or in a series of logical steps based on my urgency and budget. This was not an easy decision, and Brian was very patient as I went back-and-forth with my thoughts and questions. He showed me inside and outside the danger spots, actual rust, water damage, frayed cables, etc. that were at issue. I elected to get the majority of the necessary main work done (install an entirely new exterior 'main service' cable/tower apparatus at the meter to the house, and a new contractor-grade elec. panel.) This was expensive, but I knew from prior experience and other contractors was within reasonable price range so I felt no need to get additional quotes from other companies. Then Brian offered to do all the work right THEN, same day, no delays, no additional calls. He had all the parts he needed in his truck for this major job. This was amazing to me, given the scope of the project. Then Brian worked nonstop until 9pm (with a short lunch break) doing all the work inside and out. In the process, his testing equipment indicated a suspicious unknown current imbalance in the main electrical (neutral) line between our house and the utility pole. He explained to me this could indicate a serious/dangerous problem in the line (e.g. could be shorting out, exposed wires, or poor connection) and we called the Indiana Michigan Power utility outage number at 6pm. (It's their issue, at that location in the line.) IMP came out within several hours and repaired the problem at the utility pole at no cost to me. Point is, I would have had no idea about that exterior utility-line issue, even if I had been capable of doing all the interior electrical work myself. The current imbalance had not been discovered by the professional house inspector I'd paid for, either. Communication with Brian was excellent throughout, he answered my many curious questions, advised me on my own future remodeling/wiring plans for the house, which will allow me to do as much of the future wiring work as I can myself. He wrote, "Repaired" or "replaced" on each line-item of the house-inspection report I'd given him initially, so I knew each issue was addressed. Highest rating for McCormick Electrical, and Brian. I.have recently purchased , a home , in Plymouth.in. ,after my divorce . My new home is Close to my job at HOYA. IT'S About a 5min drive. The new home, I purchased being a older , but cozy home , only had so many outlets per room. Of course , most older homes back then , didn't have all the cooking appliances, like my blender/ food processor, bagel toaster, Bunn coffee pot and microwave, the computer,s, internet, flat screens , security system, air conditioners , blowdryers..plus more As I currently have , to name a few things. Thank you very much . I am glad of the referal...because they were the most wonderful crew I met. OWNER TOM. And the guys shook my hand as they entered My home. I felt very comfortable with there presence , from the start. They came in to access ,the house , of what , i needed done. Talking to TOM., showing him my Delema,, He quickly made me up a estimate sheet, with Several different options of with this/without that /if you add this, type of pricing. It was wonderful. He was very self explaining. When I finally made a decision around 5: 30pm. Tom made a decision to Do the job , right then, as he was going on VACATION And it would be several weeks, if not then. Wow ! That was so appreciated by me. I wasn't busy , so it worked out perfectly. TOM, knew it was a large job , and only brought one guy, so he called in another younger fellow to get , my home done. That was great. He was very nice. So as the night got late . They really did a AWESOME job that night. I enjoyed visiting with them all, and was very comfortable , with the 3 of them in my home . The had so much knowledge , about what needed done. OWNER TOM worked the job , due to being short handed on crew. That was so appreciated by me. He is a wonderful man and so were his guys. 1100 dollars for a dryer plug install seems a bit high to me. The install was in an unfinished basement so easy access to everything. Guy was here maybe 2-3 hours and did good work. Total cost of parts should have been 150 bucks. Ok so they mark that up and total cost of labor just seems way too high. Would like to know what other people pay for dryer install to see if this is normal. No complaints about the work other than I can’t get my dryer plug in. I’m having a friend come out and look at it. I’m not sure I would use these guys again due to cost. Total cost should have been half, but felt I might as well get the work done by license electrician. I chose the bottom or the next tier up, they comment below makes it sound like their was some way cheaper option, there wasn't. They try to justify their prices by their "upfront pricing" but that's after they have inspected everything, which seems reasonable. Then they show you some large number to get the work done. I'm guessing I got double charged because I have a nice house. Maybe I'm wrong and the going pricing for a dryer outlet is 1100 dollars. But everyone I've asked says that was too high. I should have just purchased a new gas dryer for that price. Again the guy was nice, the work was done. I got my dryer plugged in and working. But the cost is too high imo and will not be using these guys again.

A tree branch fell and tore the power line off the house, never lost power. I called McCormick to set up an appointment to have them give a quote. $ 79 service call and a quote for $834. I questioned why it was so expensive and was told it was because of the liability and for professional services. I was told to call AEP by my boss since it was their issue. I called AEP it was fixed at no cost in 4 hours. I question the integrity of McCormick Electrical, since the electrician should know it was an AEP issue. I would give them a zero rating if I could.

We've had McCormick out a handful of times in the 12 years we've been in northern Indiana, and each time the technician and service was great! Today, Seth was out to look at some projects and quote out for us. While here he completed one quickly for us. He was professional, friendly, and really gave thought on how to best do our projects. EDIT - As you can see down below, McCormick Electric did not like my term, “dryer plug” that I used in my original review. I apologize for being an amateur and calling it a “dryer plug” and not an outlet. Long story short, McCormick quoted me $2,100 for the same job that we had done a few years ago for $300. More specifically, it was $300 to install a NEMA 14-50 Outlet in my garage to charge my electric vehicle 4 years ago. This included running cable from my basement breaker box to the garage, as well as installing a new 50 Amp circuit in my breaker box for the new outlet. I know not all jobs are the same, but since we’ve already had this done and it was done safely and correctly by an experienced and qualified licensed electrician, I know what it should cost. Your electrician even told me that it was done correctly with the correct cabling, outlet, and circuit. Do a quick google search on the price to install a NEMA 14-50 to see that $2,100 makes no sense. Saying that, “good work isn’t cheap and cheap work isn’t good” does not work in this scenario. You are simply charging 7 times more for the same job we had done correctly before. I wouldn’t spend 7 times more for the same exact car just because someone say it’s better. And I know you don’t charge by the hour and you have an inventory of electrical equipment in your van. That is great, and I like knowing beforehand what the cost will be, but for this job you’re charging too much and should adjust the price in the future. There is also a similar review from another customer about a dryer outlet install. His price was half of mine and still thought he was overcharged. Here is my original review - The 1 Star is due to the price I was quoted. The 1 Star has nothing to do with the quality of work they may due. I had them quote a simple job and it was literally 7 times the price of another company doing the same job a few years ago. We spent $300 to put in a new dryer plug in our garage. For the exact same job it is $2,100 for McCormick to do it. The electrician, Alexander, was a great guy and I’m assuming you do great work, but the prices are completely ridiculous, guarantee or no guarantee. I called this company due to the 5 star reviews on Google Maps. Unless you’re rolling in money, I’d go elsewhere.

McCormick Electrical Services does do good work, and their techs are courteous, methodical and knowledgeable, but their prices are premium. I wanted to see what it would cost to replace a 200 amp Challenger brand breaker box, and I wanted to have my plumbing bonded and grounded. They quoted me $3,500 for the breaker panel, and $1,200 for the bonding/grounding. I ended up going with the bonding and grounding for $1,200. Later that week after the work was completed, I spoke to a couple of my work associates who were previously electricians, and they alerted me to the fact that bonding/grounding is about $60 in parts and no more than 2 hours of labor, and the total cost should have been half of the price paid. Essentially, I overpaid by 200%. I do believe that McCormick's workmanship is good, as I later on that week replaced my own breaker panel and observed the ground wire placement to be thoughtful within the breaker box, and the technician who ran the ground rod was careful not to tear up the lawn too badly. My advice is this: if you need help and want an electrical job done right the first time and have cash to spare, go with McCormick - but if you are budget minded or can afford to wait on a repair, you may want to shop around.
