Godby let me use a demo dehumidifier to see if I wanted to permanently install a unit in my house. I bought the unit a little while back and finally got around to having Kenny come out and install the unit along with a humidifier for during the winter months. Kenny did a great job with the installation and didn’t cut any corners. He even found a wire shorting out on the frame work during this installation and fixed it. Every time I’ve had Godby come out they have gone above and beyond. They are the first ones I call with any issue I have because I know it will be done right.

I’m deeply regretting using this company. I replaced my AC system and ductwork for $5,600 in Feb. Orignal price quote was $7,200, but only after I shopped around with other companies. They made an “error” in their figures. I asked if the job could be done on a certain date, which was agreed upon since I was off from work. The day before installation, I was asked to switch my installation date so they could fit in a furnace replacement for a house that had no heat at all. Of course, I can’t be a bad guy and say no. Had to wait until the following week and also pay someone to sit at the house during installation because we have to go to work. Installation seemed fine. Cut to April, and I go to check the air filter to see if it needed to be changed. The filter box that was installed was too big for the area so I could not remove the air filter at all. I call and they have the owner come out a few days later and take a look and he has guys come out the following Monday morning to replace the filter box because it was 3in too big. That was last Friday, now it’s Monday and the weather is starting to heat up so I turn the air on and set it to just 80 degrees to keep it reasonable during the day and we open the windows at night when it’s cooler out. Well I came home to a sweltering 85 degree home with the AC working it’s ass off to cool the house to just 80. I check the air vents, very weak to almost no air coming out. One vent had good air flow but the air was warm. So alas, I have to wait until tomorrow for service, which isn’t my issue. It’s the fact that we have to find someone to come to our house and wait for a technician to fix a brand spanking new AC system. And I’m sure I’ve already run up the electric bill with the system running for the past 8 hours straight.

Can't speak to service, because the customer service was so bad I cancelled my request. My initial request for service was cancelled after I changed it from emergent to next day service, they were rude the next day when I was told that the request had been cancelled, I had to give my info all 3 times as if they never entered it into their system. And on the final phone call they said their plumber was out of town and would have to called around. It actually doesn't have to be Godby.

The only negative was that the wrong part was initially ordered but the service department worked to make sure we had the new, correct coil installed as soon as it came in. I've used Godby numerous times over the years and have always been pleased with their professional service. Most recently, the compressor failed on my heat pump, and despite their busy schedule, the staff went out of their way to make sure their on call technician spoke to me by phone that evening. Joe insisted on coming out the next day to see if there was any resolution during this weekend of severe temperatures. While the unit couldn't be salvaged, I was grateful for the quick response and great customer service from the entire team.

I had an absolutely horrible experience with Godby. My experience was so bad that I believe the company is either completely mismanaged or is willfully ripping off customers. Savvy consumers should BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! The company came out and performed work before informing me of the issue and asking my permission then presented a bill for $500. We paid for it hoping the problem was solved. Soon after the technician left, we discovered the work did not fix the problem. We were then quoted a new price of around $1,500 to fix the problem (that included re-doing the initial work). They admitted their mistake, but refused to rectify it. We moved on to another, more honest vendor. Many months later, they re-billed us for the original $500! Every company makes mistakes, but how these mistakes are handled is what defines a company. Godby does not care about their customers. Godby represents POOR QUALITY, POOR SERVICE, HIGH COSTS, and DOUBLE BILLING. Save yourself money and a headache -- AVOID GODBY!

We have experienced a lot of issues with our HVAC system not being maintained well by a "we can do it all" service provider. Thus we sought to find a better quality service provider with the right knowledge to maintain our dual unit system. Upon calling Godby to schedule an appointment, I had a great conversation with Kimberly. She was able to get me scheduled quickly and followed up to let me know the tech that would be arriving. The tech identified the issue immediately and confirmed that our unit has never been functioning properly and provided a thorough explanation of how it should work to include even drawing a picture to help us understand. 2 weeks later, a technician (Kenny) came out and fixed the unit. He was very knowledgeable, professional and thorough and the system is finally working as it should be. We are very happy with Godby and are confident they will be our permanent HVAC (and plumbing and electrical) service provider.

Don't fall for the hype of them being an Indy local name! Do your research and find a small local plumber on Nextdoor site or through neighbors or friends. This company lied to yur faces as they sent an inexperienced "plumber" to our home who had to take pics to get answers then took our $50 trip charge check and said he'd be back only to find out they weren't coming back until the following week!! We were without water and they knew this and then said WE WERE at fault when they knew the problem ahead of time! They lied on the phone and said we didn't tell them it was a different situation...we explained it exactly and even if it was a diff situation ( which it wasn't)..they should've had the knowledge to do it!!! The plumber that arrived stated "i have three other appts still and its 5pm... i can't do this one right now". They knew it was not a basic replacement but this plumber didn't know how to do it and we had waited all day on him and then we got blamed!!! We had to fight to get our check back and thankfully we found an honest plumber through Economy Plumbing recommendation! Steer clear of Godby!!!

I had a previous company look at the same problems and one issue was going to be over $300. Godby was able to fix the same issue for less than $50. Not only that, but they followed up after their visit to make sure everything was working perfectly. I would recommend Godby to anyone who needs HVAC or plumbing issues resolved. I had them come out to fix a leak under my sink. The first time they said I needed a new garbage disposal and over charged me. 2 weeks later, leaking again. Called them back out and they said I needed a j-flex pipe. Lies charges 6.78 for this piece, and they charged me 100 for the part and over 325.00 for labor to put it on. I will never use then again and would never recommend them to anyone.

We’ve been customers of Godby for years. We purchased our hvac system, total house humidifier, water heaters, and outdoor water faucet. We’ve been “Team Godby “ members for years as well. Service used to be great, but not anymore. I made an 8:00 appointment weeks ago. At 8:40 I called and found out they had a tech meeting and he would be on his way soon. I cancelled that appointment and made another 8:00 appointment. This time I called at 8:15 to find out if he was still coming. I was told again that they had another tech meeting and he would be on his way soon. At 8:30 he called and told me he would be there in 15 to 25 minuets. Sure enough, at 8:45 he shows up. Why do you make 8:00 appointments when you know you won’t keep them?Chapman Hvac is right down the street from us and next time maybe I should call them.

Godby has been my heating and plumbing company for a number of years. I believe them to be totally honest and above board with the issues I have had with an aging home. There have been several occasions when I thought I needed to replace something, and their serviceman has explained to me why that was not so and what and how much it would take to repair. I have purchased a new air conditioner and hot water heater from them and have been totally happy with both. Their serviceman noted a ground wire the builder did not connect and fixed the issue on the spot to prevent a possible fire. Overall excellent company.
