Ethan And Richard came to do initial startup on my new Generac whole house generator. But before that could happen the secondary electrical panel had to be moved to the main panel. There were two separate panels on different lines and the generator was only connected to the main panel. So to get those circuits to be operable when the generator was on, they had to be moved to the main panel. So there were 9 circuits that had to be moved to provide GFI, lights and electrical outlets throughout the house. Ethan provided excellent service explaining what he was doing and how it was going to work, while Richard set up the generator for its initial run. Everything went smoothly and in a few hours all the circuits were operable. With a full load of every thing on in the house, except the heating circuits, we were operating at 50% of capacity. They set up the mobile link so that I could monitor the generator from my smart phone and get notices of needed maintenance or any other problems with the generator. Excellent service and all done within budget.

Reasonable price, quality work and exceptional customer service/relations! My wife and I were expecting a baby any day when we encountered an electrical issue in the bedroom that we needed fixed as soon as possible. I called American Electric, and they were able to send out a technician who found and fixed the issue the same day. Given our busy schedule with baby planning, it was a relief to work with a company who took care of our issue quickly. We will definitely be using American Electric in the future. They thought they were coming out to fix a major problem, pull a permit, etc. and they recognized that a simpler solution that met the City's requirements was appropriate. Five star service, top notch. They arrived when they said they would; they acted and were dressed professionally, they listened as I explained my specific needs, and the electricians gave recommendations which were reasonable and improved upon what I had asked for (ultimately increasing my overall satisfaction with their end result). The team of two worked a full 8-hour shift and lastly (and most important to most) I was charged exactly what I was told and expected to pay. I was happy to have professionals that worked efficiently, and knew what they were doing. I will be hiring them again on another job. With that said, people who hire them need to listen to their recommendations (they are trying to save you money). For starters, when they say to buy the stuff you want installed ahead of time; do it. They time it takes them to go get it if they don't have it in their truck is $$$/hour they aren't actively working on your job/needs. They day they arrived, I stayed home and made several runs to Home Depot to get parts. I got exactly what I wanted, and they were able to keep working while I went to the store. As a licensed Mechanical PE (Professional Engineer), I'd be happy to have them on any job site I was engineer on.

Hired American electric to do the wiring for a bathroom addition. Wes and Gilmore performed the work. They were there at the time they said they would be and were efficient about their work. Unbelievable story, and I’m blown away so I wanted to share. At home this morning waiting on service. Electrician was late so thought I’d call to double check. They were responding to an emergency at another site, but unfortunately had lost my number and couldn’t get a hold of me. I was shocked at first, realizing that they weren’t even going to call me! I’m deploying in a few days, so when asked if I could reschedule, I didn’t see a great time for me to be here and get this done for my family. Disappointed as I was, I intended to look for service elsewhere until they called me back and said they felt so awful that they wanted to provide me the service for free! Again I was shocked, but this time by their extreme generosity, humbleness, and support for the military. Needless to say, they deserve more than 5 stars. Thank you!

As a Network Engineer we always need electrical work done to keep the Internet up and running. With that, one of my clients always uses American Electric so we hired them to expand an electrical segment for a new UPS deployment. They gave me a quote that was within budget, we set a time that would work along with our tear out for the expansion, and everything was completed more smoothly than I have never seen from any other contractor. American Electric Jacksonville has a great staff. I found them on a Google search after accidentally using their competitor American Electrical Jacksonville and had the worst experience.
