I understood that being a member gives you a discount at all times when service is completed. I learned today that I was wrong. This manager called me a liar for 42 dollar discount. Since our small 3 bedroom house was built in 1994, we have had a service contract with Custom Mechanical.That's 24 or 25 years at an average of probably $300.00 per year. They come max twice a year to check systems, change filter (or clean) and we had no other major(or minor) claims. In 2009, we used them to replace our heat pump and AC system at a cost of about $9000.00. Recently, the fan motor on the AC condenser failed. The cost of the repacement of the fan motor was covered under the maintenance agreement, but we were charged $50.00 for shipping the part. REALLY? We've paid you over $15,000.00 in the last 20 years for minimal service calls, and you nit pick us for 50 bucks? I'm DONE!

I happened to be here and Kevin called my cell when I was not in the condo at the moment to let me know he was at the complex. Kevin was very respectful, pleasant and explained thoroughly a potential issue he found during the seasonal checkup. The compressor was quickly replaced and I trust my HVAC system is in good hands with Custom Mechanical.

Why did I not go here first ? Custom Mechanical is the best - case closed. Last year they solved an AC problem that 3 others could not solve. This past weekend I called at 11:30, they were there in less than 90 minutes on a hot busy weekend, and fixed an AC problem on my other unit in 20 minutes. I had setup an appointment for Friday Sept 21 for my maintenance contract. I had to go to my condo for a funeral on Monday Sept 17 and found that my heat pump wasn't working. I called Custom Mech and told them about my problem but said it was ok to wait until my appointment Friday. The guy that came told me my fan motor was bad and I had to pay $139 for a service call. Then when the motor came it is was ruined and I had to wait another week or so for a new one. Then I had to pay another $500+ for the motor. I am very upset that I had to pay so much when I have a maintenance contract.

Terrible experience! The tech was to be there between 1 and 5 didn’t show up until after 5:00. Checked pressure and Insisted, we needed a new system but refused to check for leaks in our current equipment. Asked him to go into the attic to check equipment up there. He said there is nothing much up there. When I asked the size of the unit, he didn’t know, said label was faded. My husband took a picture of the label. It is very clear. The next day a woman was supposed to come out and give a price, she was running late and said she would send the information. It has been 2 days, no info. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!! Had the leaks repaired by another company, unit is running great.

Also their price quote for a new ac unit installed was almost 3000.00 more than two other estimates elsewhere for the exact model. So much for getting a discount for being loyal customers. There were other issues in addition but the price quote is what really was the last straw.

I don't know what is going on with Custom Mechanical lately. We have used their services for our home, our rental units and our shopping center so we are good customers. But this time all went bad. Problem 1: We made the appointment and Robert said we were the first to make an appointment for that day. They should have come early in the 8-12 time slot. Instead they didn't show up at all. We had to call at noon and finally they sent someone. No apologies either. Problem 2: They didn't fix the problem. The plumber said we have a line running to a dehumidifier. Incorrect. We wanted the line to our humidifier on our HVAC machine fixed. Instead later I found out he disconnected and got rid of our humidifier line. So now we are screwed for the winter. Problem 3: The plumber who came had no knowledge of what to fix. The broken line was frozen last January. When Custom Mechanical came then, they ask if we could wait until warmer weather because it was really cold under the house to fix it. We said of course. But then when it is warmer for them to do the repair, they sent a young guy who had no paperwork, nothing. Again I have no idea what is going on with them but now I have to find another person to fix what I just paid CM to fix.

5 year old furnace, installed by Custom Mechanical in 2013. Got home from work Monday 11/26/18... No heat, called Custom Mechanical. After Hours of Course, extra $$ but hey we need heat right? $207 Service Call technician diagnosed a simple problem. Then heard him say.... "Sorry we don't have the part." Promised the parts department would get the information first thing in the morning. They called Tuesday afternoon, part has been ordered, we have set you up for Thursday to install the part...… oh yeah another $270 for a less than $50 part. I told them we could not wait till Thursday for heat..... I guess it doesn't matter why stock a few $50 parts so people can have heat in the cold? I ordered the part online Monday evening myself, overnighted with FED EX.... Total Cost $68 a simple one screw installation. Heat running less than 24 hours No Thanks To Custom Mechanical. We are done with Custom Mechanical.
