Had tech verify my heating/cooling system was compatible with a smart thermostat. Asked for a quote for the thermostat. $169 part anywhere else. Boulden wanted $610 for part and installation. Needless to say I paid the $99 service fee and declined the ridiculous price. I’ve been a loyal Boulden customer for some time but I’m rethinking my next service contract agreement. It’s definitely not about the customer!! UPDATE:: Out of the kindness of their heart, Boulden has made me an offer. “You buy the part from wherever you like and we will install for $200+”. How about charging a responsible fee for a 25 minute install?

Tyleek was my serviceman and he did an outstanding job. He check the AC both inside and outside. Identified three recommendations to correct and improve the our AC. We selection one of the recommendations and he was able to not only complete the installation, correct a loose pipe and provide instructions on how to maintain, clean the pipe to prevent any backup. He earned the 5-stars.

This Team of two Guys, were amazing. One of them was a Trainee. However, they were both very kind, pleasant, friendly, courteous, polite, and thorough. I can't think of any more adjectives to describe my experience with Boulden Brothers. I was also EXTREMELY PLEASED with the Customer Service Representative. I called on yesterday to schedule a routine appointment, hoping it would be before Christmas. However, I became very discouraged when told that the first available appointment wasn't until January 14, 2019. But she then said I could be put on a cancellation list and someone would call me if an opening became available sooner. Well needless to say, I was ecstatic when called this morning around 10:00 am about a cancellation at 12:30 pm that same afternoon. I accepted the opening; And I am still thrilled (it is 6:00 pm EST) with every interaction I had with Boulden Brothers from start (on yesterday), until completion of the job (today). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND, this company to family & friends for your heating needs (I have a gas furnace without central AC). I will DEFINITELY call Boulden Brothers again next year for a regular check up or before then if any other heating problems arise.

He went above and beyond to make sure my hot tub service was save knowing that my family and granddaughters will be using it. Do to the configuration of the work ended up being a 10 hours day. Serviceman quickly diagnosed the issue, fixed the problem, and also performed additional diagnostics on the A/C Unit and found another item out of spec which could have caused problems in the future -- since it was fairly new, was able to replace it under warranty. All around a good, professional experience ... recommended for your HVAC Needs.

I had Kevin come out on April 23 2019 to receive a quote. He was at my house for about 15 minutes and gave me a quote on some plumbing work. The quote was almost double the price of two other local companies. Also thier destination charge was also double the price at $99.00 the other two companies were $50.00. I have since called and canceled my June 4 2019 air-conditioning service with the Boulden Brothers I do not trust them. I have a estimate number and a paid invoice from them this is not fake. Please call around for quotes before getting taken advantage of. I will say on top of everything there office customer service is wonderful "5 stars" also the company was on time. I hope this review helped someone, maybe I caught someone on a bad day that didn't want to do the work so they overpriced it to get out with just a destination fee.

My wife and I were extremely impressed with Charlie and Daeron of Boulden Brothers. We had them out to our house to do several projects to upgrade our lighting, carbon monoxide detectors, new wiring for new appliances and a few other small items. They totally respected our home, were polite and courteous, and were very easy to talk to when we had questions. They went above and beyond what we expected and Charlie even pointed out a few issues that we would eventually need to be done due to new building codes such as grounding our gas line. I would highly recommend them to anyone including my own family. We will be using them again for any future electrical needs.

Very disappointed. Called without power on the second floor of our house. Was worried when they could only offer an appointment a week away but agreed. On the day of the appointment, during the time for the appointment, they cancelled. No empathy for the problem this created. No offer of any accommodation. Just their next available appointment which was the following week. SUBSEQUENT UPDATE: After posting this comment, I received a call a couple hours later offering me an appointment for the next day in light of a cancellation. By that time I had found another electrician, but I still appreciated the call, and it was a nice gesture.

I had been a loyal Bolden customer until recently. It seems they have migrated from a customer oriented company to a sales focused company. I was quoted about $900 to clean a blower and change our a couple of electrical parts in an annual cleaning. Didn't take up their maintenance offer.Decided to look at replacing my HVAC and in the process discovered that the cleaning would take 2 hours. That was $450 of the $ 900 charge. Another HVAC company pulled the cover of the air conditioner out side and we couldn't see an evidence of.pitting that was the reason the tech wanted to.replace those parts. Seems like it was more about the sale and less about being a trusted adviser.

When I was home previously I called Boulden Brothers to fix the Heater and they did a great job, they were very professional and reliable. This time when the hot water heater needed replacement I knew exactly who to call. Always reliable and professional. It’s hard to find such a good company when your not living in the area. I was military and when I got out I stayed in the DC area but Delaware will always be home! I’m so thrilled to have found this company. I don't write many reviews and when I do they're usually negative but this is not the case for the Boulden Brothers! The entire experience (purchase and servicing) has been great: I obtained three quotes (roughly 1 year ago) for the replacement of my central air conditioning unit and while Boulden was not the cheapest, they were certainly the most thorough and the most knowledgeable. They caught numerous aspects of our set up the other places did not talk about or address so we chose Boulden. They were at our house the next day with an entire team and installed the new unit. Recently, we had a small issue with our unit not turning on, I called them on a Saturday night and spoke to an actual person (amazing right there). A tech called me back and scheduled to come out the following morning. The entire process took less than 20 minutes from my call to having two conversations with an AC tech. The following day the technician came out, found the issue and resolved in less than an hour with no charge. Long story short - they are breath of fresh air in a sea of companies that over promise and under-deliver. We are very happy to date with Boulden, thanks guys!

I was quoted about $900 to clean a blower and change our a couple of electrical parts in an annual cleaning. Didn't take up their maintenance offer.Decided to look at replacing my HVAC and in the process discovered that the cleaning would take 2 hours. That was $450 of the $ 900 charge. Another HVAC company pulled the cover of the air conditioner out side and we couldn't see an evidence of.pitting that was the reason the tech wanted to.replace those parts. Unfortunately there were some electrical issues within the system that were creating further problems with the operation of the system. The final repair involved Brandon and Johnny who both worked hard to get to the root of the problem and finally resolve the issue. I was given a great quote for routine boiler maintenance. Got a call back that the low price was only for gas and not oil. For the price they gave me, I could go with another company and have a full yearly contract that includes a maintenance visit. 1st time service call with Boulden, Kevin was very professional and yet customer friendly. Took time to explain options for plumbing sensors and the company’s overall service plans. Had issues with a malfunctioning leak sensor on the water heater. Decided to bypass the sensor, since the water heater is relatively new, so we can get uninterrupted hot water. Trying to fix the sensor could have been costly with no guarantees.

I could not believe how quickly they responded. I received a phone text with the name and “A Picture “ of the serviceman that was coming to my house. His name was Charlie. He arrived within 30 minutes of his call. The first thing that he did when he entered my home was to put booties (covering) over his shoes to protect my home. We were interested in information about a new heat pump. Jon Rivers from Boulden was thorough, interested in our needs, careful to explain the systems and answer our questions. The time he took to be sure we knew what they had to offer was well spent. One week later, we had a team from Boulden Brothers to the house to install the new heat pump. In spite of some awful weather, Dave Smith and Austin very methodically went through the installation process.While working through several downpours, they completed the installation, tested the system, and answered my questions. I have always had positive experiences with the technicians at Boulden Brothers, but because of the experiences outlined below, we canceled our monthly membership and will no longer use their services. Initially we called Boulden Brothers to fix an HVAC issue and the service was cheaper if we got the membership. The repair took weeks because we were waiting on a part to arrive and finally found out that it had been sitting in the warehouse the whole time. The next contact we had was for an annual AC check, at which time we were told one of our two compressors was totally dead. Our house wasn't even 3 years old at that point so I reamed out the builders and at our expense, a company that could work on Carrier-warrantied products came out and told us it needed a minor repair but was in fact working. Finally, on the evening of May 28th 2019 we had the same issue with the AC again, and we were to leave for vacation a few days after. My husband called Boulden Brothers that night and was told the earliest appointment was 6/13 (over 2 weeks, with hot days coming up, 2 dogs at home, and I'm pregnant). I said no way, most companies keep appointments available for emergencies and called back, to be told the same thing. We called another company and they were there at 10am the next day, and fixed the issue. After that experience, I canceled our membership because paying $20/month for a company that can't fix emergency AC issues is not worth it.

This has made my condenser unit outside run hot and trying up to 15 times to restart itself. This noise has been driving me nuts ALL summer! But also potentially caused a over pressured scenario. Glad l dont have a hole blown in the back of my kitchen/bath! Checked in nooks and crannies on her 1st visit today. Pleased with fair pricing options that out do my previous service company too.

Very courteous staff. Install took a bit longer than expected (2.5 hours). The technicians were knowledgeable and made sure to explain the system and answer questions. They even had to handle an unknown hornet's nest. We had a complete replacement of our HVAC with a Daiken unit. The technicians took care of all the extra needs, downgrading the circuit breaker, new hose to the sump pump, refitting off the gas intake, and an updated air purifier- custom fit. I am satisfied with the work so far. Time will tell on the unit energy savings promised, but the unit wad just put in.
