My husband and I called Anchor Electric when we lost power to our pond. Steve very quickly realized that the electric was fine and that the problem was a malfunctioning pump. Instead of leaving me with a problem he gave me a list of items I needed and told me he'd be back the next day to install a new pump for me. I'm very grateful for such awesome service.

Had emergency electric problem during busy summer season. Steve was only electrician of 5 who found a way to fit me into schedule - solved the immediate problem and then did a great job installing a new breaker panel and breakers for me - and at a fair price.

He is very friendly and professional. I would not hesitate to hire him again. I give him my highest recommendation.

Called Steve after hours because we lost a leg on the electrical panel leaving us with no heat. Steve called us back and offered to come out immediately. We were ok till the next day. Steve replaced entire panel inside and outside. Excellent job! Would recommend Steve without a doubt.

My husband and I live in Columbia, MD, but own a condo in Ocean City. We needed to change the thermostats in our unit, which has baseboard heating. After replacing two thermostats, we were unsure about the third, which ran two heaters and was wired differently. My husband was not comfortable replacing that unit, but we needed to replace it by the next day, so we could leave. We looked online and called Anchor Electric. Steve responded quickly and came out within two hours. He was knowledgeable and experienced. He replaced the thermostat and went the extra mile to make sure the other thermostats in our condo were running properly. He was personable, and he knew what he was doing. I would definitely use him again and I would recommend him to the other owners in our building. In addition, he did not charge an excessive amount. We paid $75.

Called Anchor electric to look at an outlet in my condo. They picked up the phone and had someone to my condo within 2 hours. They promptly called and suggested replacing outlets. They took care of the issue within 2.5 hours of the pone call. Super quick response/turnaround and would definitely use them again.

Our condo association had work done by Anchor in horrible weather after a storm and they got us back on line safely and in record time. Hired them again for a lighting project in our 175 unit complex for an excellent price and long term savings to our association. Most recently Steve did work in my condo and was on the job an hour after I called him. Can't say enough about his professionalism and workmanship. Highly recommend Steve and his company.

Steve , the owner came on a Saturday to look at the electrical supply to my water heater. After his inspection, the problem turned out to be with the water heater itself. He was honest and knowledgeable . He went out of his way to replace the heating elements of the water heater for me. It required him to go to the hardware store to buy supplies. This was well beyond what he needed to do. He took care of the problem and my family . I highly recommend him for your electrical needs!

I selected this company based upon a few positive reviews that I read online. Good for those who had positive experiences, I did not. I requested and estimate to have two ceiling fans on our covered balcony. I was up-sold into adding 6 recessed lights and how “easy” the job would be. The day of the Job, the Electrician showed up with himself and a helper. I was under the impression that the Owner/Electrician was going to be the one doing the work, but he left his assistant behind within 15 minutes of being on the job who had “40 years of experience”. It all went downhill from there. I should have had a clue when the person doing the work didn’t have basic tools and needed to borrow from me, such as a pencil, tape measure, drill bits and a hammer. I asked multiple times for him to layout where all of the lights and ceiling fan were going before starting to drill holes. He didn’t. I ended up with random 6 inch holes in my ceiling, with nothing consistent or centered where it was supposed to be. I threw the guy off the job site after a half dozen holes were in the ceiling. The owner came by to investigate the work. He acknowledged that it was done without proper planning and acknowledged responsibility. He said “this wouldn’t’ have happened if I was here”. His first recommended fix was to add speakers where some of the holes were drilled in wrong places. He also recommended cutting out a roof rafter where they had drilled a hole for one of the lights. Removing structural part of the roof did not seem to be a good idea. After further discussion, he agreed that the only way to fix the mess they created was to replace the ceiling. He offered to pay part of the ceiling costs. I chose to have another electrician complete the job. I wasn’t going to allow this company to finish the work. Ceiling repair ended up costing nearly $1500 to repair the damage that he did. Owner ignored multiple texts from when advised of the additional charges to repair the ceiling. When I called him, he hung up on me and didn’t answer when I called back. In additional text correspondence, he advised that we would have only contributed to the ceiling repair if he had been allowed to finish the work. I’ve considered following complaints with the Eletrician Licensing Board, but haven’t. I did not have a written contract with the company, and was doing on a verbal agreement. I strongly advise against entering into any type of verbal agreement with a company like this. While researching licensing and company history, I’ve learned individuals that I allowed into my house to do this work had a multitude of criminal and civil actions against them, including Burglary, Domestic Violence, Malicious Destruction of Property, Resisting Arrest, Theft, Tax Liens, Judgments, Restraining orders, and Controlled Dangerous Substance. Had I done records checks in advance, I never would have hired this company.

I called Anchor Electric to replace an outlet, and Steve was able to come out the next day. Not only did he fix the problem, but he was able to explain what had caused it. Overall, Steve was very knowledgeable and charged a fair price for the work. I would definitely recommend them and use them again for future electrical work.

Long distance renovation is a challenge to say the least. We count ourselves very lucky to have found Steve here in Ocean City to make the electrical part of the job easier. He has been able to work with our schedule and brings a skill and knowledge of local code that has been a great help. Talented at his job and clean and courteous to boot! Highly recommend.

I wish every service provider was as good as Anchor Electric! Steve responded to me almost immediately and quickly came out to give me an estimate for installing a new line for a boat lift, installing a line for a jet ski lift, installing three new outdoor receptacles, and hardwiring an awning. His rates were very reasonable compared to other providers, he's very professional, and he's very responsive. A pleasure to do business with!

Steve wired and installed a ceiling fan for us. He was on time and was happy to answer any questions I had. After he installed the fan, he noticed that the fan wobbled when on high speed. He pointed this out to us, and would not leave until he figured out the issue and corrected it. It really bothered him that the job wasn't the way he wanted it to be. I'll be using him again for any electrical work I need.

I posted a review previously, so I was a returning customer. Steve showed up 2.5 hours later , didn't call and didn't apologize to me. I made several calls to the office and his office manager/ girlfriend didn't know what was going on or if he was going to show up. I had a sick cat to deal with and a vet visit and he added a level of stress I didn't need. He finally showed up, worked for a couple hours, but, didn't come close to finishing the job so he scheduled another appointment. Even though he was supposed to start at 9 and finish at 5, he started at noon, worked a couple hours then told me he had another job to go to. Excuse me, you scheduled our appointment for all day, Came late and left early for another job. Outrageous. He was 10 minutes late the next appointment then spent 10 minutes talking to his coworker in my driveway while I waited for them to stop talking. During the next 7 hours he was at my house, he didn't stop complaining for a minute. He was complaining about the work he was there to correct, he was complaining about my house in general and everything that was wrong with it, and he complained loud and often about how much pain he was in. Every time he fixed an outlet, he would call me to watch him or listen to him complain instead of just fixing it. Great way to run out the clock--talking to the customer. He didn't bring lunch or anything to drink so I went and bought him lunch (didn't say thank you). He took multiple 15-20 minutes breaks through the day and sat in his truck because of his bad back and still charged me for 7 hours work. Because of the talking and multiple breaks, Steve still didn't finish the job so he expected me to let him come another day. On top of this, there is a switch in my house by my bedroom door which is connected to security flood lights. He asked me about it 4 times and 4 times I told him to leave it alone. That night, I went to switch on the security lights, and I discovered that Steve had disconnected the switch! Are you kidding me? Who would do something like that? When I asked him about it the next day, he acknowledged that he chose to ignore me in spite of our discussion about the switch. That is an outrageous response--he made me watch him fix almost every other switch in the house, then he waited to disconnect that switch when I left the house to get his lunch. He didn't even bother to tell me about it, and I discovered late at night. Very disturbing. The next day, I cancelled the third appointment. When I told him I hired someone else to finish the job because I was dissatisfied, he told me he had a family to feed and please give him another chance...I am a senior on a fixed income who has no sympathy for people who try and play me. At $800 per day, it's up to him to complete the job as he bid. He said it would be an easy 7 hour job, but, when he still hadn't finished finished after 10 hours and with 3-4 more hours to complete the job, I had enough.

I am a condo owner in Ocean City and needed an electrician to rewire a lighting fixtured installed by some one else. I called Anchor Electric in Berlin, Maryland and scheduled an appointment. Steve came to the condo, analyzed my problem, told me what needed to be done, how long it would take to do it, and quoted me an price. The work Steve did was fantastic. All estimates given to me were right on the money and the workmanship was fantastic. He even went beyond the scope of my problem and provided superior workmanship to fix the problems caused by someone else. I was very happy with the company and will call them first for all my future electrical needs. I highly recommend this company. P.S. Steve understood the problems of me being a property owner living 160 miles away from Ocean City and performed this work on a Sunday!
