Smooth sailing from start to finish! On Saturday May 5th the breaker on our outside electrical panel bit the dust. We found Newington Electric online and decided to give them a call. We left a message and within minutes April called us back. She was awesome! Her knowledge of our problem and how to fix it blew me away. She sent Tom, one of their technicians to our home after he was done with the job he was working on before our call. He too went above and beyond the call of duty. He explained everything in detail and fixed our problem in less than a half hour. If your looking for a company that is reasonably priced and cares about what they do than look no further! Thanks guys!

These guys swindled my elderly mother. I called on behalf of her and enquired about their rates, after calling a number of other electricians in the area I found that I could have gotten the work done for less than half what this place charged. A few days later they showed up unannounced at my mother's house claiming that an appointment had been made and fooled her into accepting their high rates. Scum.

My 90 old neighbor was charged $175 to fix a light fixture. Nothing was done and there is a burned exposed wire that the entire fixture was resting on. She was told that there was no problem. I’ll include a picture of the exposed wire.

To comment to the most recent review from Tom r I am the manager of the company I do the best to return every call in a timely manner unfortunately I was tied up in a meeting and immediately returning to my desk I was on a call which lasted about a half hour due to an elderly couple that had no power . This to me was an emergency which was being handled first after ending my emergency call I immediately called Tom back who didn't even let me talk to him after I tried to apologize for waiting for my call henbasically hung up on me the phone call back to him was less than two hours and I would have sent someone immediately to his house to look at a light fixture I was doing my best to handle the emergency first just remember there are two sides to every story and sometimes people have bad days I will always do my best to make customers happy

Needed a could of things done and had a no power situation at one light fixture. The gentleman that showed up at my house was great. Found the problem quickly and made the necessary repairs and brought it up to code. Would definitely use them again.

Below average customer service, very rude electrician, slow service, expensive ( which wouldn't be a problem if my experience with this company was good), left the house a mess ( i guess that carrying a small vacum ( or ask for one) is too much to fit in their trucks). With the recent power outages across the state (Snow Storm Quinn March 2018) we had the opportunity to use out generator at its full capacity. The power initially was going in and out. This was causing our generator installed in November of 2015 to go on and off 5-6 times within a 30-45 minute time frame. We were worried if the power did go out for an extended time, this start up and immediate shut down would wreck havoc on the generator. Well it didn't! When the power did go off it started up the same as day one. We were out of power from Wednesday night to Friday midday. No complications as at all. No only did we have a warm house, but all the lights we needed. I don't think I could live in a house without a standby generator now. It provides much needed peace of mind when inclement weather does strike. We know what its like to be without power for an extended period of time. Unfortunately we experienced multi day outages not only once or twice, but three times. We initially purchased a small gas generator. It does the trick for a little bit, but filling up with gas and letting it rest gets old quick. The final straw was when were were away and the power went out. We almost lost all the fish in our salt water aquarium. So decided it was time to invest in a generator. One of the better investments we've made. Not only does it save our beloved fish but also a TON of pumped breast milk that would've been lost had we not had the generator. Now that is something you can't buy!! I can't say enough about having a generator! CT Home Generator were very professional and helpful when it came to installation of our generator. Our town provided much headache with the installation process, but CT Home Generator's handled it all. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would!

Bruce from Newington Electric was great to deal with from start to finish. My Mother in law lives in W. Hartford and needed a new electric panel and generator, we wanted to do this as a Christmas gift but live on the West Coast. Bruce handled everything in a timely manner that made all of us feel comfortable with the process. My Mother in law was thankful for the time Bruce spent with her and the quality in workmanship that she received. I would highly recommend Newington Electric and Bruce, thanks!

We lost power in the part of the house that has our main air conditioning unit on a hot, humid New England day. Newington Electric sent John out the same day and he discovered that whomever built our house did a shoddy job with our electric wiring. John spent hours tracing the short throughout the house, replacing and upgrading existing elements that he came across and noted "they never should've done it like this", until he finally identified the source and fixed it. While an unexpected expense for homeowners is never welcome, John worked tirelessly, never taking a break, and made it obvious that his work ethic included an awareness of the customer's time and money. And despite the hot working conditions, the job taking longer than either of us expected, and my being under foot the whole time watching what he was doing, John had a great attitude the whole time. The next time we have any electrical needs, I won't hesitate to contact Newington Electric.
