During a recent extended power outage that impacted my business they came out on short notice to help bridge power and adapted my electric panel for generator hookup while we waited restoration. I had never used Chestnut but was having an emergency at 7am on a Thursday morning with a breaker in my home tripping continually and disabling the internet, thermostat and my home office. We had a new bathroom vent installed and an older one replaced. The electrician was very friendly and knowledgeable. The electrician arrived promptly and was in and out in about 4 hours. Their rates are a bit on the higher side but you are paying for quality you can trust. Highly recommend.

This company is the best. My main circuit breaker went. I knew this was going to take time and parts. I used their chat at 6:30 am and they said they would pass on the request. At 7 am I got a call and at 8:00 Thor arrived at my door. He went to Danbury for parts , but they didn't make the circuit breaker anymore. He came back with a newer part and all the parts needed to replace the electrical panel. The part fit! Saved replacing the whole panel. The house was back together and everything cleaned up perfectly. I had never used them before, but I highly recommend them. It was so easy, and they are very professional. Thanks Chestnut Electric!

Chestnut electric is great! They are very responsive, professional, and take the time to understand what the issue is and what you are looking for, all while offering various options to reach your goals. We were looking for improved lighting around our driveway, and it looks great! And to top it all off, they even helped us out in a pinch and helped with our Christmas Tree! Their service technician, Jack, has been the best when it comes to repairs around our facility. We have a greenhouse on site with electrical controls that no other electrician would touch, but Jack came through and had it repaired and working even better than before. Chestnut Electric is the best!

Hi Mr. Dorn, My name is Saul and I’m an extremely satisfied customer and I would like to share my experience with you. As a home owner and a real estate agent in NY and CT I get in contact with a number of service men and women plumbers, painters, electricians etc.. Rarely do I write reviews however, given Ray’s hard work I had to reach out to you as I feel he needs to be recognized for his excellent work. That being said I reached out to Chestnut for two electrical items we wanted done. The first to install four digital thermostats and updating our back up generator switch box and cables. Let me tell you Ray didn’t disappoint. Thermostat were difficult to address, but Ray never stopped trying to make them work. Instead Ray saw it as a challenge and didn’t stop until the thermostat were working. Since being installed in December we have not had a single issue with the devices. Once again, a true testament to Ray’s hard work and attention to detail. What also makes him stand out from the crowd is that he is knowledgeable, informative, thorough, trustworthy and personable. Ray embodies the word professional. It doesn’t stop there as Ray also switch out an old Switch box and cable in extremely cold conditions and showed me how connect and operate the backup gen system. Murphy's law - never lost power this entire winter. I’m not complaining about that! I must also recognize Nick who was extremely helpful throughout the process coordinating dates and times. As well as answered a number of questions to get the proper items before Ray arrived. Nick was great!

Chestnut Electric has done one big job (upgrading the electrical service and panel) and a couple of smaller jobs (e.g., replacing fixtures) while we are renovating an old farmhouse in Wilton. The electricians arrived on schedule and completed the work in a timely manner and cleaned up the site perfectly. The prices are somewhat on the high side, but the quality deserves that. I would not hesitate to recommend them to any homeowner or business.

When hurricane Irene felled a tree that pulled our electrical wire connection from the side of the house, Chestnut was here the next day to restore our connectors (Too bad it took the electric company another week to bring wires to the house).
