Here is a post (complaint about American Electric) from yesterday on Nextdoor. "This is friendly warning to be careful of who you use for electrical work. My Mom's elderly friend had American electric come reset a breaker. He charged her over 300$, this is 5 minute job plus some drive time and a few minutes to make sure she is safe, 100$ tops. He then went on to scare her to death that her house is going to burn down and gave her a bid for 10,000$. I am sure her house needs some work, but not at this price. I've been an electrician for over 25 years. These people are a disgrace." Be very skeptical of anything this company does concerning services and especially what they will charge. Very Overpriced according to several people on Nextdoor.

Way over priced and amateur. They installed some outlets and switches on new construction only the framing was done. They installed all outlets flush with the studs so they are all recessed by 1/2 inch. I had to purchase my own outlet covers. The fix was Ryan wood put in longer screws so only my outlet covers are holding them in place. I cannot even plug in two small space hearers without tripping the breaker. They installed 7 four plex outlets! Why can I only plug in two things! I asked Ryan and he told me they would be too expensive to fix and to run my own wire! This company has given nothing but excuses and is terrible to work with. Do not use them!

A big shout out to the crew at American Electrician. They came out on short notice on a SATURDAY. Power company turned off my power and told me to call an electrician because it was damaged. This is THE BEST company and I got the best technician ever!!!. My technician, Ryan was on top of every detail and dedicated to doing the job right- without shortcuts. I had him out to wire my pool for lighting AND wire my motorized cover. My pool contractor didn’t install the proper wiring to the box and concrete came.... Yet, Ryan managed to dig UNDER the concrete, re route the wires-without cutting any- and fix the issue. My pool wouldn’t function as smoothly as it does without Ryan’s work ethic and dedication. I half expected him to need to break the concrete to do the job, but not this guy. Flawless work. I will NEVER call or recommend anyone else. Truly one of a kind!

Turned out is was so easy--he said "no charge." I couldn't believe it! How can you go wrong with a company like that? My neighbor had a 60 year old pine tree fall into my extremely large maple tree, falling on top of my power lines & porch during the last blizzard. From the moment Angie answered the phone I felt reassured, comforted, and treated with professionalism and respect. John was the electrician that fixed our power lines on his day off. He communicated with me every step of the way what to expect all while we were out if town. John was amazing in coordinating with the city and the utility company to ensure we were able to pull the permit, disconnect the power, and ensured we were without power for a few hours. I've used Don Irons at American Electrician on two separate occasions. The first was to run some low-voltage wires up through the crawl space into a wall cavity. During this service Don also installed an outlet in my unfinished basement to power my server rack. The second service was to install another outlet in the basement to power a water softener. On both occasions, Don was prompt, professional, on point with price and did an excellent job.

Cost a fortune for them to come out and say they can't figure out what the issue is!! Paid almost 300 dollars for the guy to put his little meter on the wires in my breaker box for almost an hour (over and over again), then continued to have no answers! Would not recommend!

The best service I could have hoped for! Im selling my home and needed an electrician to fix the issues found in the inspection, I called and was scheduled within minutes. The technician called me before coming over and was exactly on time with the expected arrival. The technician Justin Hay was the most professional and courteous I've ever had the pleasure of working with he went above and beyond. He saved me alot of money by finding and fixing issues within the breaker panel therefore not having to install all new GFCI outlets! Saved the day to say the least! Back in 2017, my review on Yelp..My boyfriend almost got swindled yesterday. We have 3 fans that need to be installed in our home and he had assumed I wanted it done quickly since we had a friend coming over by the end of the week. After I heard the price they were charging us to simply install 3 fans I just about lost my mind. $1200 is not a fair price to do this kind of job! When the guy said we were to pay before the job was done, or at least half, and my boyfriend complied because he's a nice person who thought I was in a hurry to have the job done this week, he had wrote the check. Well...I'm not that much in a hurry to let him get swindled into spending $950 more than what others charge to do this job. He got his check back and we're going to wait another week to have it done at a fair price. NO THANK YOU. The owner Rick G responded to my review today (2019) The owner's response to women in particular who write negative reviews on Yelp and on Google are very disgusting and flat out wrong. I've read that your company has scammed many people, including the elderly. You should be ashamed of yourself Rick G. I'm certain that the positive reviews you have are paid for, it doesn't cost much to pay for reviews. Read the bad reviews on google and on yelp (where they have less than a 1 1/2 star) and you will see the same negative feedback. These bad reviews are not a conspiracy against you and your company, only facts from occurrences that took place.

John Lombardi at American Electrician is the best example of customer service. My mom had some major electrical issues in her house and unfortunately, I was out of town when this happened. John took extra time to reach out to me and explain what needed to be done. He also took a lot of time to explain to my elderly mom what needed to be done and ultimately made her house safe and gave her piece of mind. I would highly recommend this company for your electrical needs.

I’m blown away by this wonderful company! I had a need for same-day service to install a ceiling fan in my bedroom, and fortunately AE sent Anthony out within an hour! He was extremely informed and intelligent, able to communicate professionally, and just a pleasant young man. While performing the task, he discovered some shoddy electrical work that, by the grace of God, had NOT resulted in house fires. I was aware of a bad electrical panel, but wasn’t aware that it wasn’t up to code; the meter outside the back door is illegal; learned that installation of my central Air in 1995 was most likely illegal because of amps required to support the unit, but never increased nor informed me. I won’t name that company b/c they’ve gone out of business. Anthony gave me two bids to completely overhaul the electrical panel (two different solutions), and I’m probably going to get a courtesy bid from another electrician, because I trust the AE company AND Anthony!

They are just salesmen trying to sell you products you don't need. I inquired about a hot tub hook up. The salesman showed up with his menu notebook found the tab for hot tub and stated that all hot tub hook ups are $1200! He didnt measure or give me an itemized list. I already had the 220 box installed. All that was needed was 17' of conduit and wire with bonding wire. Once I got my breath back he tried to sell me a $1100 surge protector for my house that wasn't even a year old yet. I just wonder how many people have fell victim to their menu and surge protector?!

Be very careful and get second opinions before chosing American Electrician. They will suck all the money out of you they can if you fall for it. They may do good work, but they are not cost effective. They quoted us $7300 of work that had to be done. We got that work done through another company that did awesome work for $3450. They claim to be Christian oriented, yet they try to rob you blind preying on unknowledgeable people who will fall for their bad quotes. Be careful.

I had Justin and his crew (Mike, Ryan, and Josh I think?) come in and redo the electric wiring for my whole house since it was built in the 60s and had a Federal Pacific panel. They did an awesome job and were here for over 12 hours on a Friday to make sure everything got done. All cool and professional guys who went above and beyond what I asked, I can't recommend them enough. Shoutout to Mike for even helping me get a swamp cooler picked up, that's some 6/5 customer service right there. Get that man a week's worth of free lunches.

Last week, John Lombardi came out to our house to check if power was running to our AC wall unit. He was well educated, went above and beyond to help, and kept me well informed of everything that was happening. John was professional, friendly, honest, and he ending up being a HUGE HELP. Turns out, nothing was wrong with our AC, but John was there to help me so he didn't stop there. He discovered previous unfinished work done without even having permits pulled. I had just bought the house and I was totally oblivious. John was so amazing! He was willing and able to explain things to me to help me understand and educate me. He took the time to walk around the house inside and out to further show and explain the situation the previous owner just put me in. He even took the time to look at the invoice for our inspection resolution to help me come back at the sellers so I wouldn't have to pay to fix their mistake. John didn't even technically do any work for me but I got a free estimate on how they could fix/finish the unpermitted work by the previous owner and he saved me major issues if/when I go to resell my home.

I called American Electrician on Monday, and they were able to schedule me for the following day! Joe was the technician who came to my house. He was extremely professional and friendly. He earned bonus points in my eyes for chatting with my 4 year old son and for putting booties on over his snowy shoes. He worked to get us the best price, and he performed the work quickly. When he was done with the work we asked him to do Joe noticed an outlet that was protruding from our cabinets (a project my husband hadn't gotten around to yet), and he fixed it for us at no extra charge. Kevin came out to install a fan for me. The fan had been given to me and did not have a manual and even some of the parts were weird. Kevin gave me a quote, and then he even worked with me to lower the price. Kevin worked really hard to get the fan installer properly. He had to Jerry rig it somewhat. If I could give them zero stars I would. The guy was really nice and funny but the prices are a total rip off. The giveaway is that our tech seemed like he was being pushed to sell things we didn't need. He told us if we didn't upgrade to a 150 amp panel our wires in the walls would heat up and burn our house down. His estimates were (and I kid you not) between 6x and 10x what other contractors were quoting. I don't like shady scare tactics and I'm surprised that this company gets as many 5 star reviews as it does. It doesn't cost 756 to repair one outlet and do LED retrofit on a ballast fixture. Stay away. I ultimately went with Lumen Electric; they have competitive prices and saw me the day after I called. Save your money my fellow Coloradans.

These guys are good at scamming homeowners. I called and asked if I could have my GFCI circuit tested to make sure it was functioning properly. These guys claim to offer a "free estimate" and reassured me it would be considered as a free estimate to let me know if actual work needed to be done. The electrician shows up, without doing anything (no testing, no work) and within 5 minutes hands me an estimate for $300. I asked what was the work that needed to be complete. The electrician said in order to "test" the circuit, he would need to "pull out a tool" and that is not free. Then he stated he would have to pull all the outlets and test them to make sure they are wired properly. I told him that was bogus as I do my own electrical but needed a licensed electrician in this instance (I am not licensed.) He said it costs his company $150 just to send him out there, so I told him "well, you just lost $150 for being dishonest" and sent him packing. I used a different company instead. They were honest, tested the GFI circuit, and confirmed no problems and no charge. Simple. I left them a nice review.

I hired American Electrician to do a small electrical remodel to correct some safety concerns I had in the bathroom area. The property is a second home and I live in another state. American Electrician made doing business with them extremely easy. I received a quote for the work two days after I made the initial call. Anthony, the Project Manager, did a great job from the initial estimate to the final walk through. Billing process was a snap, as simple as it gets. Agree with others that they try and take advantage of people that might not know any better. Was quoted $1022.00 for installing 2 ceiling fans! In a new home! Ridiculousl! This was not a quote over the phone. The dude came out and looked at both rooms. Assumed what the wiring would look like. Called another company and they came right out and charged me $150! Done in 2 hours.

The company was great on honoring their warranty policy. We had our attic fan installed by American Electrician 3 years ago and we had to call the company for making some adjustment for selling of the house. The company owner, Rick and one of the manager, Bob came out on site inspection and they worked way beyond our expectation to make everything worked out at the end. Even though we had short time line to make all the adjustment up to new city code and to satisfy our buyer, the company stand by their warranty and supported us thru every process of the work that needed to be done within the very short time. Joe traded out my a regular light switch to a timer switch for me. I could have done it myself but the old switch didn't have a neutral wire. While he repaced it, he answered question after question and explained what he was doing. I got a timer switch for $50 and a lesson on electrical wiring for free. I loved that he was happy to help me learn.
