I am not pleased with the service. The technician suggested to my daughter that we use ceiling fan downrods that turned out to be too long for our room sizes and heights. The cost to install two ceiling fans was much higher than estimates from other electricians, but I used this company expecting expert advice. The fans were hung too low and are potentially dangerous for a taller person. I am requesting the fans to be reinstalled at no additional cost with shorter rods. If this is not possible, I would like a refund.

We called to have outdoor lights replaced. The office called before scheduled appointment to ask if tech could actually come early. Zeke was very pleasant to work with. When he opened the breaker box he immediately saw a problem with 2 arc fault breakers overheating and suggested replacement. He professionally installed our new lights on driveway. I had a very good experience with Joe from Mister Sparky. He helped troubleshoot and fix an external outlet issue and replaced some lights in our stairwell that are difficult to access. Joe was prompt, professional, personable and got the work done quickly. I liked the ease of setting up appointments and the "heads up" call to let me know who the electrician was and when to expect them to arrive. If all service providers in NWA had a similar model, it would definitely make life easier :)

After hearing radio advertisements for Mr. Spark in Northwest Arkansas, I didn't hesitate to call after I ran into a situation where I needed and electrician. I worked in a warehouse for several years as a maintenance tech so I am familiar with many various kinds of electrical installations and problems. I decided to add GE Smart switches into my home. The single toggle switch replacement was very easy, even the three-way switch installation was not difficult. But then I found in my living room I had a 4-way switch configuration. I spent the better part of the day tracing wires to see what went where. Then I looked at the wiring diagrams provided by GE. None of the diagrams made sense. So like everyone else I started with searching Google for 4-way Smart switch installation. I could not find a site that could explain or show how to connect the wires to the switches. So I decided before I make a major mistake I better call Mr. Sparky. Ricky was on-time just like the ad promised. I asked him if he had ever installed GE Smart switches before and he was very candid and hones to say he had not. As I showed him the diagram that I had drawn of my 4-way switch system and I described my dilemma to him, he was very calm and confident that he could wire them correctly and get the lights to work. After he analyzed the situation carefully he recommended that he would need to pull another 12/3 wire run to complete the circuitry for the last switch. I can tell you from previous experience that running new wires in an existing house is the most difficult task any electrician could face. Ricky kept a very positive attitude even though he wasn't able to eventually pull the new wire. He ended up collaborating with another master electrician and found another solution. Within 15 minutes he had all 3 switches wired and working correctly. He explained every step process knowing that I had enough electrical knowledge to understand. He installed all the faceplates and cleaned up every mess he made. Using Mr. Sparky was definitely an enjoyable experience and gave me the piece of mind know that a professional had installed what to me would have been a very complex wiring task. Ricky is now fully trained on how to install GE smart switches and should be considered a highly valuable asset to Mr. Sparky NWA. Thanks Ricky for all your help and thank you Mr. Sparky NWA for dispatching such an amazing person and electrician. Scott

I had an outside outlet that had quit working. I called Mr. Sparky one day, and I had an electrician out the next day. Wendy, in the office was so friendly and helpful. She gave me a two hour window for my appointment. I asked if the electrician could call me when he was on his way so that I could stay at work, until I had to meet him, she said yes. Good as her word, she called me 30 minutes before the electrician was due at my house. That helped me so much! Chris D was my electrician, and he was fantastic! He listened to me as I explained my situation. He found what the issue was pretty quickly. But as he walked through my house he also pointed out some safety issues. I know what you're all thinking now, he was trying to add work to my request. But there was absolutely no pressure about anything he pointed out. He told me the things I should prioritize when I was ready to have the work done. I only had him do the original work that I asked for. Then changed my mind and had him change out my smoke detectors (that I think were original to my 1999 house!). Took him less than 30 minutes to change out five smoke detectors. Very happy with his work, he explained everything so I easily understood, and cleaned up after himself. Even asked for a broom so he could sweep some stuff off the floor! I know this is a long review, but I wanted you to get the feel for my experience. I highly recommend Mr. Sparky, and Chris specifically!

1 Star is warranted. Mr. Sparky called to change my appointment after it was already set. The electrician showed up late for the new appointment. I was looking to get a dedicated circuit in EMT conduit from my electrical panel installed in my garage for a refrigerator. Mr. Sparky quoted me $1,100 to get this completed and they tried to up sale me on other projects which were $2,300 and $4,300. I called a couple of other reputable licensed electricians and their quotes were between $200-$400. I ended up getting this project completed by McCarthy Electric, Inc. for $280. Mr. Sparky electricians may do good work, but their prices are WAY TOO HIGH. I would not recommend them.

We initially met with Joe who very clearly explained what needed to be done to our house to remedy the problems we'd been having. I never felt like he was trying to push us into getting upgrades that were not needed. He also made sure that we understood how all of the costs were split up. This was a major purchase for us that we hadn't really planned on making just yet, but after talking with Joe, he helped us see the benefits of the work we needed done. It was more like a friend offering recommendations rather than a salesman trying to sell a product. We were able to schedule an appointment for the next day to get our work done. There was an issue getting a part in time, so our appointment was pushed back a couple of hours, but that's not really anyone's fault. We knew it was going to be an all day job either way. Brad and Wyatt were the electricians that worked on our house, and they were wonderful. They both were very personable, knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. I wasn't there for most of the day while they were working, but once they had finished with an area of the house, they put everything right back in its place. They did an amazing job of cleaning up any debris that was left behind, and once the whole job was completed, they walked us through what all had been done and made sure they answered any questions we had. This was the first major work my husband and I have had done on our house since moving in 3 years ago, and I am 100% satisfied with the job that Brad and Wyatt did. Hopefully we won't have any other major issues for a while, but if do, we will for sure be calling Mister Sparky.

Shannon checked the breakers and found that they were running hot--he stayed and replaced them right away, after we discussed what I wanted to do. $300 to change a $30 breaker. Which took the guy 10 minutes. But because he didn't have the part in his truck - despite me telling the call center exactly what I needed - he had to run to the warehouse to get it. Then he wasted my time trying to sell me a service package for $120 that would save me 10%. Total time start to finish was close to 3 hours. And the call center that answers the call doesn't even say mr sparky. They answer with the name of some plumbing company.

Customer service was fantastic between setting up the appointment to Carlos assessing the project (installing a fan in great room with a vaulted ceiling and needing extremely tall ladder). We have been living in our house for almost 2 weeks and wanted to get an outlet installed so we can mount our tv above the fireplace. We got on Angie's List, clicked on Mister Sparky for an estimate, and within minutes we had a phone call from someone explaining the process of their visit and helping set up a day (about 4 days out since it was almost the weekend) that they could come take a look at the job. Matt and his assistant were absolutely awesome. They showed up on time, assessed the situation, found out one of our breakers was messed up, and gave a quote to us. While this wasn't an easy job (putting the outlet in did take quite some time as they had to pull power from an upstairs outlet) they did it with a smile and were very pleasant. I would HIGHLY recommend Mister Sparky and their crew for any electrical needs. We just moved here (GO VOLS!) and finding great people that do great work is always a relief and a blessing.

They even waived the service fee since I had already paid out to another company who didn’t fix the problem. They were able to come out the very next (a Saturday) and didn’t charge more for coming out on a weekend. We will definitely be using for all of our electrical needs. FYI they really take care of military families as well.

We have been down for three and a half days due to a storm that took down a tree. That tree ripped off the service line clear out of our meter box. We hired mr. Sparky to re run the service line. We had an appointment for 3 to 6 p.m. today and they came at 11:30 a.m. they got us up and running and back on with the power company by 5:30 this afternoon thank God because it is so cold. They don’t send electricians at first they send sales people. Wanted a simple outlet installed and received a quote for $5,000 because the sales man cared about my home and didn’t want to see it on the news. Like seriously? Don’t be fooled by scare tactics people. Live in a very nice home that’s not very old, he wanted money. Additionally they do not stock their truck as they say on the phone. The salesman left and someone else came back to do the job because he didn’t have the parts....didn’t realize the electrician business was so slimey. Won’t use them again or recommend them due to their willingness to prey on uninformed customers.

We recently hired Mister Sparky and was not pleased with the service and technician. The technician originally quoted us an extremely high rate. We told the technician that we are going to get more quotes and appreciated coming out and providing an estimate. The technician became very pushy and would not leave until we agreed on lesser amount verbally. (1st Red Flag) The technician than began to start working while blaring music really loud, which was heard down the street for hours. The technician told us that he likes listening to music while he works and did not care if we had a problem with it while laughing. Within 15 minutes from the start, he barged into our house and said he could not perform the services that we all agreed upon for that rate. He insisted that we pay additional funds to complete services. We told him that we were not paying a penny more and that we were becoming irritated with him and the company. (2nd Red Flag) We then told the technician that he could leave and we would have someone else come out and do the job for less. The technician then became irate and started making verbal threats while laughing. (3rd Red Flag) Furthermore, we observed the technician through video surveillance trying to hide on the property while smoking cigarettes and throwing the butts on the ground. The technician spent more time telling us how great his work would turn out versus just completing a job and leaving. We clocked 4 1/2 hours for approximately 45 minutes of work. We tried numerous times to run the technician off the property, but he kept wanting to talk. He apparently wanted to hear himself speak. We would never hire these guys to do any work and advise others to stay away from them. They overcharge their customers and are completely rude and unprofessional. Apparently, we found out later that they hire individuals with criminal history.

Warning - Corporate Scam -- 1 star because i could not leave a review with no stars. I asked for a problem to be found with a breaker being thrown that goes to my sunroom. The electrician found that the service was good from the breaker box to the switch, but did not look any further. Mister Sparky stood out from the other competitors based on our telephone conversation and the answers to my questions about the issues I was experiencing. Should absolutely NEVER be contacted or hired. This company charges a service fee and then charges an outrageous price in an attempt to lock you in. They prey on those who lack an understanding of blue-collar trade costs. For example. I called them to get a quote for running two ceiling fan boxes off of two outlets, into bedrooms. And this was with complete attic access. Terms of material costs, this is about 50 feet of wire and two plastic boxes. Generously, that's a wholesale cost of $10. In terms of labor hours we're talking an absolute MAXIMUM of three hours. Probably two. They wanted $1,098 for this job. This means you'll be paying OVER $300 /hr for trade labor. Out of MORBID curiosity I asked them how much they charged to replace an outlet, even if we provided the outlet (wanted to remove material cost). They want $100 per outlet. Changing outlets is a 10 minute job at an absolute max. This company is preying on your ignorance and should be avoided at absolutely all costs.

We recently hired Mister Sparky and was not pleased with the service and technician. The technician originally quoted us an extremely high rate. We told the technician that we are going to get more quotes and appreciated coming out and providing an estimate. The technician became very pushy and would not leave until we agreed on lesser amount verbally. (1st Red Flag) The technician than began to start working while blaring music really loud, which was heard down the street for hours. The technician told us that he likes listening to music while he works and did not care if we had a problem with it while laughing. Within 15 minutes from the start, he barged into our house and said he could not perform the services that we all agreed upon for that rate. He insisted that we pay additional funds to complete services. We told him that we were not paying a penny more and that we were becoming irritated with him and the company. (2nd Red Flag) We then told the technician that he could leave and we would have someone else come out and do the job for less. The technician then became irate and started making verbal threats while laughing. (3rd Red Flag) Furthermore, we observed the technician through video surveillance trying to hide on the property while smoking cigarettes and throwing the butts on the ground. The technician spent more time telling us how great his work would turn out versus just completing a job and leaving. We clocked 4 1/2 hours for approximately 45 minutes of work. We tried numerous times to run the technician off the property, but he kept wanting to talk. He apparently wanted to hear himself speak. We would never hire these guys to do any work and advise others to stay away from them. They overcharge their customers and are completely rude and unprofessional. Apparently, we found out later that they hire individuals with criminal history.

Mr. Sparky was hired by the building manager for a condo I own. I was not given a bid for the work before it was completed. After the work was completed I was advised by the building manager that my share of the work was $2600. For the work that was done, this is outrageous. I checked with competitors and found the work could have been done for half of the amount I was charged. I used the same description of the work they had on the billing provided to obtain the other estimates. I called Mr. Sparky for 4 days to try and get a detailed and honest explanation for the billing. For the first three days I could not talk to a manager. I was told by the dispatcher that a manager would call me and satisfy my complaint. No one ever returned my call. On the 4th day I refused to accept any more promises and after a 30 minute wait, the operations manager finally answered my call and questions. Ryan would not tell me his last name or his title. The only thing he would tell me is "This was a package deal and they do not have to justify their charges". They refused to provide any detail on the parts and labor to justify the work they did. The work was done on a monday morning at their standard billing rate. So, no holiday or emergency rates would apply. They promise to clean up after themselves in their advertising. This did not happen. I had to hire a handyman to come back and finish the details around the electrical box they installed and repaint areas they left scratched and damaged. I priced the parts they installed in my unit and found the wholesale cost of the parts used was less than $100. They were in my unit for perhaps 3 hours total labor. The building manager told me they had to run wires from the basement with new conduit. Ryan said they did not do that work. So, they told the building manager one thing and did something else. Don't bother calling these guys for your work. There was NO effort made to satisfy my continued complaints. The building manager already paid the bill in full so they just don't care and I have no recourse but to share my experience.

I contacted several electrical companies to correct problems in my home. Mister Sparky stood out from the other competitors based on our telephone conversation and the answers to my questions about the issues I was experiencing. I was offered a free inspection to determine what exactly the problems were. They offered to provide a copy of their business license and proof of insurance – this was assurance I wanted. The following day, Brandon (electrician) and Jamarcus (assistant) came to my house (Pelham, AL) and conducted a free evaluation of my electrical system, which took several hours to complete. i called them to mount my car charger. all i needed was 60amp circuit breaker and mounting related supplies. unfortunately, i was not at home and my wife had to address the electrician. the guy gave my wife a quote of $1346!!! are you really kidding me?? here was the breakdown: $99 for power club membership(i didnt ask for that), $304 for 70-90amp std breaker (i assume this had labor in it as the circuit will cost $30-50, also i needed only 60amp, so why a higher amp breaker?), $943 for one complete circuit restoration...this was the main scam...my home is only 3 years old..why in the world they put this in quote??? i wish i could have attached the estimate here...at least rest of folks here can see the scam they are running here....utterly dissappointed!!! i wish google let me give 0 stars.... all this cost me $79 as their quote...wish i have not called them up!!!!

Tristen Tristen provided highly professional and thorough service — all well explained — and bailed me out of a potentially bad situation that was worse than I had imagined. To make a long story short, some previous work had created a situation that was causing circuit breaks any time I accidentally flipped on what was supposed to be a dead switch that had once been connected to a ceiling fan. It had gotten to the point one evening that circuit breaks and power shutdowns in much of the house were occurring only an hour after I’d switched the power back on the broken circuits, and I hadn’t even flipped the dead switch to prompt it, which baffled me. So first thing the next morning I asked Mister Sparky to have someone there that day as I was not sure if I’d have reliable or safe electricity in my house much longer. Tristen arrived within a couple of hours and immediately understood what was going on. He explained that every time I had flipped the “dead” switch, more power was flowing to and building up in the breaker box panel and it was about to get out of control. So I definitely needed a new breaker box to replace my 25-year-old panel along with some grounding for everything. Tristen arrived at my house at 10 a.m. and worked on the project until 5:30 when all was complete. In the meantime he arranged for SWEPCO and city inspectors to visit the property to perform their tasks to make sure the entire project would be finished within a day. He wrapped up everything by showing me the new arrangement on the breaker box and by completely deadening the switch that had caused the trouble in the first place. It’s a pricey job but a fair price for the service I received in the relatively short time period. I didn’t flinch (much) at the price because I knew this needed to done right this time and carefully. Tristen is well qualified and knowledgeable about his work.

I had a tech come to give me a price to change all the switches in my home, about 20 of them. I was quoted a price of $1,900! That's $90 a switch. They cost $3 and take about 5 minutes to change. Then I asked about my 10 year old smoke detectors. I had 5 and was quoted another $1,200 to change those! All while he was also trying to sell me a $99/year service plan. At least the estimate was free and he left. I spent $200 at Lowe's and in about 3 hours had everything fixed with one person's help. I should have known when some of the first words out of his mouth were, "We have financing plans." I can understand paying for complex electrical issues, but the prices I was quoted were unbelievable!

Job: Estimate for recessed lighting Appointment # 1: At the time of scheduled arrival, I was informed that the technicians were dealing with other emergencies, and that my appointment would need to be rescheduled. I re-scheduled for 4 days later. Appointment #2: Appointment confirmation email stated that arrival window was between 12pm and 3pm. At 2:50pm, I got a call that stated that my technician probably would not be able to arrive until after 6pm. Unfortunately, that wouldn’t work since I had to be at work at 5pm. Updated review below and stars updated as well: 3rd time, manager comes out to do the estimate. On time. So good. Schedule appointment for a few days later to do work. Also get an inconvenience discount. 4th appointment (work day): appointment is for 9AM in the morning. Was called at 9AM stating, again, like the first missed appointment, that they were dealing with “emergencies” so they would be unable to get to me until that afternoon. Call Mr Sparky corporate and speak to more upper management. Get an additional $200 something dollars off the job and they show up at about 430pm with 4 guys. In about 5 hours, they set and wired 4 recessed lights, hung several light fixtures replaced an outlet, and replaced 3 breakers. I’ll say this about Mr Sparky, the electricians they have seem to be highly competent at what they do. It looks like they do quality work. However, they are very focused on “selling” jobs and that’s where they make their money. So you have to be careful about getting talked into things you may not really need ie: whole house surge protection, etc...it’s also what gets them behind. They will show up at one job, and get up sells, so a 30 minute call can turn into a 2 hour call due to the upsells. Summary: seems to be quality electricians that do quality work, however, they did not show up at 2 of my appointments and were 7 hours late to a third, so staffing and corporate policies and focus look to be issues.

I have had a few jobs done in my home with Mr Sparky, and each one was beyond satisfactory. Carlos did a new 15 amp circuit for me today, along with a surge protector that protects my entire house. Carlos accommodated my busy schedule, was on time, and did the job professionally. I have more jobs lined up for them in the future, as I have an older house. I recommend Mr Sparky to anyone who needs help with their home electrical needs. They even showed me how to install my own gfci receptacles.

This company came through for us when we really needed it. After a different electrician cancelled on us on a Saturday, (despite confirming they would show up), we were facing a very cold night with no heat and few options. I called Mister Sparky on a Saturday evening and they sent someone right away. The electrician was at our house, during a snow storm, in an hour, and called me on the way to discuss the problem. Turns out we had a very tricky problem and he stayed for several hours until he fixed it. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly persistent in fixing the issue. I will be using Mister Sparky for any electricity needs moving forward.
