Steve was awesome. Nobody wants to spend 8+ hours taking a driving class but he has a great personality, tells lots of interesting stories and it wasn't complete torture. I'd recommend checking your driving points before the class as he will defer turning in your certificate to the DMV depending on your current point/legal situation.

Helpful instructor, free coffee offered, you walk out with your objective obtained. 8 hour courses from DMV are never fun but the instructor makes this as tolerable as he can. Make sure you email before going for a $5 discount!

Open door or pre register. Easiest to schedule. I was tricked by an online clinic and told by dmv info desk in culpeper that an online course would be valid, but it wasnt and i had no time to wait for the other classes so I called A1 and got in quick. The next Saturday to be exact.. Ive been to a few clinics in the past for insurance rates and Steve's clinic has been the only one I have stayed awake in.

Hello all, I just took Steve's Defensive Driving Course and to be honest, I had my doubts in the beginning. Being that I was court appointed(forced) to take this class, I wasn't particularly happy about it. I came into this class with a preconceived notion that it would be boring and the day would be a drag, but I was WRONG! The class was actually a lot of fun and very informative. If you pay attention and participate, you will benefit from this class and what you learn here could very well save your life or someone else's in the future. If you have to take it due to a traffic violation or if you're just doing it to earn positive points on your record, Steve's great! I am very thankful. Thanks, Steve.

Steve at A-1 Defensive Driving School teaches the best class in Charlottesville, hands down. Super easy, helpful, great attitude, and very friendly. If you ever have to take the course, do it at A-1.
