The worst. They took forever to schedule my sons driving class over the summer after his classes were complete for the written part. I finally got him scheduled six months later as they never return calls and overbook with other students. I met the instructor Joe Gragg this past week. The other student didn’t show so I was told either I have to be present during the lesson or he has to reschedule because instructors can’t be alone w students. Well good idea there and am I glad I was present! Upon meeting him he was shocked as my son has never driven “illegally” like all other parents allow even without a permit. I’m so sorry I follow the law unlike other parents! Not! Instead of being on side roads giving him a chance to learn the basics, he had us out on major roads immediately and it was insane. The teaching vehicle didn’t even have a secondary steering wheel either. I didn’t appreciate his attitude with my son as well and basically bit my tongue during the first lesson for the sake of my child initially. I politely told him I was not comfortable with the way his first lesson was conducted with my son. To my sons credit he did very well. However encouraging illegal driving and pushing the limits as a so called “professional” I found him to be over the top. I expressed that to him and found him to be very rude, unprofessional, and obnoxious. We had an appt for his second and third class even though he said the other student was out of town which would again lead to me being a passenger again. However, it being my son I was ok with that. The road conditions on the next two scheduled days were unsafe as there was heavy rain, thunderstorms, and wet roads. He said that they still conduct lessons regardless. I said I would reschedule when weather was appropriate. I was not comfortable for safety reasons. No wonder there are so many car wrecks on rt 17 based on NC drivers if they learned from this school. A new driver doesn’t belong driving in hazardous conditions and I was very clear about that. Mr. Gragg proceeded to arrogantly tell me how he has ten years experience as an inststuctor. That’s fine if he wants to live dangerously, but not with my son. Apparently if he does not have sound judgement or common sense, ten years means nothing to me. When you call these people they never return calls and don’t seem to comprehend full sentences. I have no clue why the board of ed partners with them, but then again it is backwoods Brunswick County. I do expect them to provide a professional instructor with common sense and manors for my son, as I have paid for it. I have left them a message as the instructor said the owner Molly now has dropped him off the drivers list. I certainly am not having Larry the Cable Guy instruct my son and they will rectify it appropriately in a professional manner, or I will go to the dmv with a complaint or whomever I have to. My God, they don’t even have a website and it’s run out of someone’s house! Wth? Crazy. At this point they can just give me a refund. Their class instructors weren’t very professional either and very rude, as I was there at the school for the first day of class.
