I am just going to write my experiences with East Coast Driving School, I know my situation may not be the same for everyone and I do not blame the school on 100% on my problems I have been having but I feel like people should know my experience. East Coast is a relatively new driving school program in my area and is one of the more expensive schools in my area but we chose it anyways. They have a nice building and very new Ford (Fusion/Focus?) cars that are very clean and very easy to use (Which is why I believe are one of the reasons they are more expensive then others). They're classroom time I attended was very nice and the instructors Joe and Kevin are really nice guys which my peers and myself had no problem liking at all. They were always in a good mood, very nice and very funny and where great teachers. Completed the classroom hours and had no problems with the test they administered. Then I started my road lessons and the nice lady teaching my first lesson was teaching me the basics to driving which she did a very good job at. I quickly caught on and everything they were teaching me came smoothly for the most part. Now this was something that I found was quite annoying, when they teached me parallel parking they told me the basics. I could probably do a decent job doing it 1/2 the time but most of the road instructors only told me that I was too far from the curb or crooked, etc., but most of the time didn't tell me how to fix it/what I did wrong with the exception of Frank. Frank by the way is a very good teacher and I loved every minute being with Frank. This "not explaining my errors" also applied to other skills I was trying to learn. My last couple of road lessons where practice tests and I was told I would pass no problem. Now THIS is what I got mad about the most. My last road lesson was almost 2 MONTHS from the date I scheduled my road test. My road test was through East Coast also which is $125. In my personal situation I don't have any small sedans to practice with only full sized trucks are owned by my family so no practice for me, yet I was told I would pass no problem. Took the test and was not prepared, now I have to pay another 75$ again to retake. I believe I was setup to fail so now I'm paying 200$ just in road lessons on top of the $850 it costs for the rest of the services they offered.
