I was very impressed with the school and the way they responded to the needs of the students. The classroom absolutely did what it was supposed to do in getting us ready to pass the test to get the permit. There were some fairly difficult issues once I got to the yard, but after a conversation with Jerome and the training team the issues were addressed and pretty much erased within the next few days. As with any situation there were some personality clashes, but the entire A.T.T. staff came through and showed that they care for the students and are very much in the fight with and for the students. The front office staff was very involved and are very much in the students corner. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone interested in learning to get their CDL and learn how to drive a semi tractor. Thank you very much for all that you guys did and all of your hard work!

Most of the instructors were great! Some went above and beyond what they needed to do to help you learn, others just told you. There were a couple who didn't help at all and hopefully won't be working there anymore. But overall a good school that will teach you what you need to know!

This school is top notch starting with the staff. It took me literally 30 days to get my class “A” license from start to finish. The first four days you will be sitting in a classroom getting prepped for your permit. That Friday you will be on your way to DPS. After you receive your permit you will be on the yard learning pre trip inspections, in cab inspections and backing maneuvers. Once you are comfortable doing these maneuvers you will be sent out for private driving lessons with a instuctor. These drives usually last about an hour and you get them about 3 times a week. When you feel you are ready to test you can speak to the administrator and she will book you with a date at DPS’s CDL testing site where you will meet up with the truck you’ve been driving the the last few weeks. But make sure you are ready because you only get 3 free chances but that’s more than enough because you should pass it on the first try. Good Luck!!!

I went from driving a tiny automatic Honda Civic to driving a 10 speed truck in a few weeks. The instructors were excellent and very helpful and patient. I can't say enough about these instructors and how much they care about the students success. (Especially Randy!) The support staff was also extremely helpful - I had several issues that popped up and each time they professionally and efficiently solved my problems. They got me with a great company immediately and I have now started a new career thanks to them. Absolutely love this place and would highly recommend to anyone interested in truck driving!

If you don't know what school you want to attend! Let me help you make up your mind. AMERICAN TRUCK TRAINING!!! They have a great staff of people that will help you. I knew nothing about driving a truck. They took the time to help me. Before I knew it I was driving and back like no body's business. They help you find a job that is perfect for you as well. And the best part of the school is that the owner has a open door policy. You some body ran over your dog/cat you could go talk to him about it and he will talk to you and run you out of his office. As you go through the school they have different trucking companies sending recruiters and talk about how they operate. They try and help each and every student get the job that they want. I had considered other schools, another CDL school told me what I wanted to hear just to get me into the orientation just to tell me that it would be 3 weeks before i could get scheduled to get into the school. I called another school and the enrollment period had passed and I would have to wait until a new session was available to start, and when asked about the timeline, they could not give me a date never called back. American Truck Training did what they said they would do and in my case, they got me in the following week. They also helped me with the permit process. On the permit process, when that time comes, I would say that each individual needs to go on-line to schedule their time for their permit test. ( bring everything you can with you to verify your address. You’ll be given a list. Bring redundant documents. If you have a passport, bring that too. You could be turned back just because your birth certificate has a rip or tear or water stain on it. Ask questions prior to showing up at the DPS). There were several days that I got in 6 or more maneuvers, some days were slower. I was able to get in plenty of drives. I had never driven a vehicle that required double clutching, but I was shown the proper techniques and each person will improve at their own pace. You will have some down time while others are performing their maneuvers, be observant and learn from their successes and mistakes. Get ready to be involved if you want success, it takes work. Repetition, repetition, repetition is what it is going to take to get the pre-trip down. If you don’t take the time to study, you won’t fool the guy down at DPS. The instructors have CDL’s and are very knowledgeable, ask questions. And the administrative staff was always helpful, with one notable mention is Abby, she was kind and very helpful with scheduling issues. A big thanks to everyone at American Truck Training

I recently attended American Truck Training in Oklahoma City. I believe the training was extremely good. The driver instructor’s and maneuver instructors have a vast amount of knowledge and are very experienced. They all have tremendous knowledge in the field. In most school’s you must apply yourself and take advantage of the wealth of knowledge from each instructor. I was able to learn very specific things about driving and maneuvering from each instructor which helped me develop my own skills. This led to me obtaining my CDL-A. I personally thought American Truck Training was a great school. There could have been some things changed to make the process smoother but nothing is perfect in this world. You get out of it what you put into it. If your thinking they will baby you into getting better, your sadly mistaken. You need to have the mindset that you will make your skills concrete in this first week and in the following weeks you just fine tune your skills. Don't waste your time and don't waste theirs. I passed the skills test on my first try and because I was so well prepared I was not nervous. But make no mistake, I was prepared because I challenged myself everyday to correct the small things I did wrong the day before and it made me a professional truck driver. I would not recommend this backwoods school to anyone. I attended this school in 2016. I never received certificate. I was put in passenger seat by instructor for me to teach students because of previous driving experience. They break more laws than any school I have ever seen..

The excitement of a great career opportunity and change of profession brought me to this school. I can only speak for my experience and the time I’ve been at this school. I was brought in by Gary, a recruiter, very professional and informative. My first 3 days of the class, we were read the answers to the 3 multiple choice test, we would have to take for our permit. We did read through the manual also. The material looked like reused copies from my elementary school days, and the presentation was boring. This was what others felt who attended the school at the same time. After your third day you are released to get your permit. However, not much was discussed about once you received your permit or the difficulty of getting a test within a reasonable amount of time. Next you go to the yard. We were left on our own to learn pre-trip. In my time at the school over 80% of the students failed their DPS test due to pre-trip. The yard is tough to get good at maneuvers because of size, student numbers, and times lack of instructors. The biggest hinderance was disorganization. Finally road time is limited for most of the same reason I mentioned for maneuvers. There are steps and procedures the school gets across to you, but the limitation can affect your success. The overall all failure rate appears to be over 90% for first attempts. I fell into this category. The week I tested over 20 people tested and 1 passed. The leadership at the school stated this is due to the students. I come from a training background and can put some of this on the trainee, but the record is too lopsided in the other direction. When I look at the instructors, they are very positive and can answer most questions. I do feel they provide great training, but they are also victims of organization and the limitation I mentioned before. I am writing this review from the yard, and it’s based on my experience. As I mentioned I failed my first attempt. I’m here trying to get in reps. It looks like I will get no drive time before my retest. I’ve seen countless retest come through, and receive drive time, but this week seem different. It would be hard for me to recommend, but there are positives here.

Kent is a great instructor for shifting and observations. Scotty was great helping with driving and turns. And JR is great with the 90 backing. They're for profit, they don't care if you pass or fail, they just want your money. Also not VA approved so any veteran stay clear, they will not pay. Go to Central Tech, it's cheaper and way better instruction. Not happy I found out they weren't approved by the VA when I paid to hold a spot and the they never approved it, so they kept my deposit.

It has its ups and downs. Instructors in the yard and on the road know their stuff and work with you on what you need. The only downside is that in my opinion there needs to be more time behind the wheel so that we can get comfortable before we go test. With the amount of money that each person pays, they should be able to get the time they feel they need behind the wheel, other than that it was a good experience and I'd do it again.

All the information they can cram in your head and then some lol, the instructors are top notch and extremely informative. Being a one and done test candidate, I would say I got my money's worth and then some. Extremely recommend for anyone ready to make the jump to a CDL class A.

i can truly say i enjoyed my experience learning what i needed to get my cdl here. the staff & the curriculum r all about getting u thru successful completion of the course w/cdl in hand & top notch job prospects @ur immediate disposal. now these guys cant "make" u take what their giving, as w/anything of this nature, ur only gunna get out of it what u put in. if u do ur part in putting in the work & effort, the staff here will also do theirs in help u acheive ur long term goals . .they do & will MORE than match ur lvl of seriousness. if u dont pass ur test the 1st time around u can b assured it's ur own fault. i have been wanting to drive a semi since i was a young kid, and after being hounded by my family to go ahead and go to school for it, i finally knuckled down and did it. And let me tell you what, I found the most comprehensive, easy-to-follow school out there. They are straightforward and easy to understand/ in short, you get more than what you pay for, in a very good way!!!!!!!!! Pay attention to detail and attend class, they don't spoon feed you the CDL so you have to put forth effort as well. This school is a joke. I paid cash. The classroom portion does not teach how to pass the written test. Most students use an app called cdl prep.Students have to learn pre trip and the in cab portions all on your own. The classes are overcrowded and in a 10 hr day you may get to do 4 maneuvers. The actual drive time on the road average is 25 min per day. Employees are not happy there. Employees struggle to get their paychecks due to checks bouncing. I would not recommend this school. For the $5200 I paid, i learned some backing maneuvers and used a insured licensed truck to take the test. Not worth the money at all.

So i’ve been at this school for a while and they were great!! Training actually only took 16 days with the exception of that drive test but that is completely out of there control.. There very leinent to a lot of things that many are not, They walk you through all the steps that you need to succeed.. I’ve went through some of the other reviews before I joined and seen a few bad apples but as the lastest graduate as of today I would like to say that I had a chance to be on the yard with some of those guys who wrote them and honestly there lazy and looking for a hand out... This school is for dedicated individuals that actually want there class A’s and are willing to work for them not those whom think that the world owes it to you.. Go there follow simple instructions and you’ll be fine. I never thought that it would seriously only be 4 simple steps to driving... Abby (The best receptionist ever) is so considerate that I fail my first drive test “Because of me” that a few days later they personally brought a second test truck just for me so I wouldn’t have to wait so long to test again.. All in all I am completely satisfied, my one and only con is that more company’s should work hand and hand with them to expand the horizon but I’m sure Jerome’s on it.. once again, thanks ATT and be blessed.... Did I mention that it’s black owned and operated

My experience at American Truck Training was top notch! The instructors are there to help and willing to go the extra mile for students who show they care. I had been in sales for several years and got burned out with the rat race everyday. I needed a career change to something I would enjoy. I walked into ATT (American Truck Training) not even knowing how to go about getting a CDL. That was on a Tuesday and I was in class the next Monday morning. 3 days after I started I had everything I needed to pass the written exam and get my permit. 3 1/2 weeks later I tested and passed my cdl exam and got my license. Some people may balk at the cost of the school. If you can swing it, it's worth every penny and more! They took someone like me and showed me exactly what I needed to pass all of my tests and I was able to pass them all first time through with flying colors because of my training at ATT. I've seen some reviews of people complaining about this or that and saying it's not worth it. Anyone that has the ability to learn to drive a truck will succeed at this school! If you can follow directions, you can do this! From what I saw the people that failed either just really did not have the natural ability to drive a tractor/trailer or they had a poor attitude. Poor attitude was really the problem the vast majority of the time. If you have just some natural ability to drive, a good attitude, are willing to learn, will put in the work and do what the instructors say and not try to argue with them, you will succeed! This isn't rocket science but it requires a good attitude. Another huge advantage to working with ATT is the job placement resource. This is just as valuable as all the training you'll receive about getting your license. I provided ATT a list of things I was looking for in a job. He read the list once and gave me the name of a company he thought would be an ideal fit for my needs. I applied with them, got hired and will make more money this first year just out of school than I've ever made in my life by a long shot! BTW the company I'm working for is local. I'm home every night and on weekends with my family and so happy to be in a career that I enjoy, is in huge demand and pays very well! Again, the training at ATT was very good and my overall experience was 5 stars easy. Since it is a sizable investment, when you go, you have to take charge of your training. The instructors are not there to coddle you. You're an adult and they expect you to act like one. If you take charge of your training and take it seriously, you will get everything out of the course you need to be successful! One of the biggest keys to my success was I communicated a lot about what my expectations and needs were - not just before I enrolled but all the way through the training. I can't say enough good things about the staff, the training and the entire experience! If you need a career change and want to make some great money being in high demand, this should be a serious consideration!

From my recruiter, Chris, helping me get in the door and his support, the instructors helping me when I needed it and taught me what I needed to know and Abbey helping and her support with job placement and everything she does, I can't say enough good things about the staff there. I want to name all of them and give each and every one the respect but you will just have to go there and see for yourself. I started on the July 1st, tested today on the 31st and passed my test first try and now have my CDL license in my hand and a job I begin on Monday thanks to everyone at the school for the tools and support I needed to make it happen. My advice, be 110% committed, go in with a fresh mind and positive attitude, pay attention to your mistakes and learn from them, and stay focused and calm and you can be in and out like I just did. Getting my CDL today was an amazing feeling and it was even better coming back to the school and the whole staff showing their support and genuinely excited for me because it truly showed they care.
