Currently a student at Hamrick. I really like the small classroom size and the ratio of students to instructors in the yard. The staff cares that you truly grasp the material and the maneuvers you’re doing to ensure you’re going to succeed in the trucking industry.

Everyone at this school goes far beyond their job to make sure you succeed in trucking. The instructors years of experience and knowledge was key to this new drivers success. THANKS HAMRICK!

Great people here teach you a lot!!!!

Good place to get your CDL. As far as the instructors there's maybe 1 or 2 if more 3 I don't really care too much for, but I think this place deserves 5 stars.

I love Hamrick because they have some of the best instructors in the area. They focus on not only getting you prepared to pass your state exam but they also prepare you for real life. The instructors have decades of experience behind them as well as millions of miles with a passion to train drivers to ensure the best possible outcome for their students. I visit on a regular basis and always feel welcome when visiting the school. Excellent staff, excellent price and excellent curriculum. Needless to say it's definitely a good place to get your CDL.

Lots of knowledge from all instructors. Learned a lot from each one

Irene I Have Now when Found the Truck Driving School And Learn That For School and I Love it. For More information about. Driving program Promotional Consideration. Paid for By Following Along.Complet.

I found the overall quality of instruction to be excellent. The instructors generally have multiple decades behind the wheel and genuinely want to pass that knowledge on to a new generation of drivers. The rest of the staff were also great to deal with and responsive to my questions/needs. The one complaint I have (and it's a big one) is the condition of the equipment. The fleet of trucks is quite old and in dire need of better maintenance or replacement. Despite this one issue I feel I gained the knowledge and experience I need to begin my new career as a commercial truck driver.

“Vroom, vroom!” - literally every truck This place is pretty neat. They have a pretty good curriculum and pleasant staff.

Excellent instructors

Instructors are great, however how the administration office runs is terrible. Have test date coming up in a week and they decided it was a good idea to lay gravel during class hours preventing the students from being able to practice much need maneuvers before testing. So we spent the day sitting around doing a lot of nothing in most of the spots for the maneuvers. Also don’t let anyone talk you into a doing a program you don’t think is a best fit for you. If you think you can do a 244 class great but if you feel you need more time sign up for the 600 class.

I think the school is great an the instructors are great at what the do an help you in anyway they can to teach you the maneuvers an how to drive the truck

Hamrick did well on preparing me for the CDL Test. The difference between that test and the requirements of the real world is something the school could work to improve. Teachers like Gary, Al, and Greg all focus at least part of their efforts on this aspect and they should be given more freedom to teach this way.

Teachers are awesome.. you receive alot of training. Classroom and hands on... the teachers pre-pair you for the state test.

They do an awesome job training you! They also keep in contact after you are done with the schooling to make sure you are adjusting well.

Just graduated here. The equipment will definitely get you prepared for the industry. Most of the yard trucks had no functioning clutch just grind it till it goes. Had a steering wheel center section fly off and hit me while doing manuevers. Soo when your done you should be able to drive anything. Evening classes are a pain being the lighting in the yard absolutely sucks. Try finding cones in the dark through a convex mirror. Received very little instruction through yard time. In their defense was told i was doing fine and didnt need it. Ok ill bite. The manager does a pretty good job juggling his duties and playground mediator since most of the other instructors would sit and gossip about their personal lives, insulting students, and doing a fantastic job of telling us what not to do after we do it but not so much what to do before. Primary goal is successfully applied, being the test. Pretrip was, for me learn from other students. Classroom time was an absolute joke. Teacher spent more time telling us we should be glad we were not on days, because how bad the daytime instructor was, than teaching. We would be given a map routing test and not given an idea as to what route to take. Would pick a route that we would prefer and was just told nope wrong route. Only in passing from another student asking her one on one but luck having good hearing did i get her route then 15 minutes before test was to be over did they give an idea. If you have a history with trucks and know your way around them, this is not a good resource. If you are totally ignorant and just want to pass the test and dont care about knowing anything itll get ya there. Administration did however do a great job. Just not great equipment and personally found a lack of tutelage

Thank you so much for all the help!! I’ve learned so much from Hamrick. Instructors are all fantastic and very knowledgeable. Great career to get into. Fun environment to learn in. Two thumbs up. Couldn’t ask for more. THANK YOU!! It's been 6 months now since I got my CDL. I'm making great money and I'm very happy. Driving a truck takes a lot of work, but it's all worth it!! If you're willing to work hard, it will pay off. Wish I did this sooner. $$

The instructors are great. They help with whatever needs worked on. And show the proper way to make a maneuver.

My experience with Hamrick was amazing. It is negative things I can say about people's attitude however I am a woman and was surrounded by a lot of men so that made me not take things too personal or be sensitive. Now from first meeting with the lady who helped with the tuition I knew I was in the right place. Al was my in class instructor and he did a very excellent job. And the rest was up to me. Hamrick gave me the skills that prepared me to be confident in myself as a professional driver. I came thru the doors with no knowledge of truck driving. And I left with a Class A and passenger endorsement. And that was because of what they taught me. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this school. All the staff are there to assist you so if you put in the work come in when you are supposed to and learn to listen you will have knowledge of everything you need when it is time for you to test and start working. I recommend this school.

Most of the instructors had a bad attitude and seem like they didn’t want to be there. One slept while in the truck with you. It was a very childish environment with gossip and BS. I would definitely not recommend. Especially the long program. The last 3 weeks you don’t learn anything you are just clocking hours. 7:45-5:15 5 days a week for 3 months is ridiculous for getting your CDL.

Good school knowledgeable instructors

had a great experience at Hamrick and am now making more money then I ever thought I would! Out of the kitchens and into a truck! Well worth the price of the school, thank you Hamrick! Teachers are awesome and hilarious, I miss messing with Don and Greg. If you're thinking about going to Hamrick, DO IT!

Any time I've called on the phone, even years later, the staff continue to be amazingly patient and helpful and knowledgeable.

Great training from seasoned professionals. I learned something different from each instructor. Each one was patient and didn't make you feel stupid for asking a question.

Good instructors & Good teaching

Terrible it’s like high school, so much gossip it’s ridiculous instructors talk about students and there colleagues to students this place is so unprofessional if you are ready to attend high school again come here!!!

Great school to learn from

Hamrick is a great school with a great staff, I would recommend this school to anyone with a interest in trucking. They make you comfortable with learning at a pace that is right for each individual and the instructors are some of the best people you will ever meet.

Excellent school

I had A very great experience at Hamrick and would tell anyone looking into the trucking industry that this would be a great place to look into.

My classroom experience was great Don is a cool guy, we watch vidoes and A LOT of Indiana Jack videos. As for being in the yard only bad thing is if you doing summer classes get ready cuz it's gonna be HOT only 1 shead had A/C. Out of the instructors only 1 of them was highly disliked by the students. But if you don't have the money to pay for school Hamrick is recommended due to financial aid.

I knew nothing on how to drive a truck. Great school Patient teachers, they will push you and help you accomplish your goal.. thanks Hamrick .. i feel ready to take my test and pass I'm doing g my review before I test because I believe I will pass and I will say Hamrick staff did that. Go to Hamrick and see you out in the road

Al Evans

So very very very dissatified with this place. Go to Great Lakes school or any other place. Incompetent they do not care about the students. It IS NOT worth it....... Stay away

Great staff !!!! And a enjoyable environment, learned alot!!

Great instructors I am definitely glad I attended. They gave me everything I needed to pass my state test and so much more I'm just disappointed that the school was over so fast because I really enjoyed coming to school every single day.

Some of the instructors are very friendly, such as Hidy, Judy, and bob. Other than that, the management is terrible, and the trucks they use in the yard and to take the exam are extremely old. I had to rent a test truck for $75 because their truck broke down, while one student was taken his road test. Unfortunately, he failed because he did not complete his road test. Attached is the test truck broke down in the middle of the street. Do not believe the for stars reviews, probably was done by the management them self. Find your self a school with a good truck....Good Luck!

Overall a good trucking school! The staff is there to help you every step of the way. I really appreciated some of them. The CDL class has catapulted me into a higher standard of living and I now plan on owning my own business. Thanks Hamrick!
