You will see the opinions of real people like you who use the services and products of Alpha and Omega Driving School (Driving School) around New York area.
At present this business receives a rating of 4.3 out of 5 and that rating was based on 67 reviews.
You must have seen that it has an average rating is really high, and it's founded on a very high number of feddbacks, so we can think that the evaluation is quite reliable. If there are many people who bothered to leave their feddback when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to set evaluations when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Driving School belongs to the category of Driving school.
BEST DRIVING SCHOOL!!! They patient and really give you the service you pay for. Defiantly would recommend this to family and friends.
The instructor is very good. Knows what he's talking about. Passed my road test in one go. 5 hour class was not boring. Highly recommend this driving school.
Great driving school. Definitely recommend to all wanting to learn how to drive.
DO NOT GO TO THIS MAN!!! SCAM ARTIST! It is not a Driving School, it is just a man with a car, and he will come late and end your lesson early. He preys on church people, driving newbies, and older drivers. Most of the 5 star reviews were forced for discount before lessons. Do not lose your money. I lost 300 dollars and had to go to another driving school years ago. People at my church in 2019 recently lost hundreds because he refuses to return calls I highly recommend Ruki Auto Driving School in the Bronx. You are welcome. Shame on them for using this name.
I recommend coming to this driving school, the instructors are really helpful especially if your someone who has never been behind the wheel, it is worth it 100% Mr Laine is the best and is patient and really teaches you how to drive
If you're young, avoid him. He may try to take advantage of you like he did to me. Mr. Laine did teach me most of what I needed to learn but he is a dishonest businessman. On my original 10 lessons with him, he saved parallel parking for the 2nd to last lesson (Lesson 9/10) and did it only twice on the 9th lesson and once on the 10th lesson so I never learned it from him. Lessons 3-8 we did nothing new. My brother, who had a different driving school, was taught parallel parking on the 4th lesson. That's when i started noticing how dishonest Mr. Laine is. I had to teach myself parallel parking a while later and was going to schedule a road test with him but my parents suggested I take 3 more classes. I agreed and took 3 more classes with him and i told Laine to put more emphasis on parallel parking, which he did. I finally learned HIS technique and it was a bad technique. It did not involve the side mirrors AT ALL which means his instructions were specific to HIS car. Even worse, his car is old and beat up. It most likely has outdated specs. I know because his technique did not work at all for my car that i practice with. At the end of the 3 lessons, he told me 4 lies in under 20 minutes. Lie #1, he told me that i needed more lessons. I did not because at that point I've been driving for over 2 years with absolutely no problems. I told him no thank you. He responded with another lie. Lie #2 was he said that he had to "ok" me for the road test. I told him that the government does not require you to take formal driving classes so how will those people get an "ok" to take a road test? He responded to that with another lie. Lie #3 was he said that the government DOES require you to take formal driving classes. Everyone knows that's wrong. I told him that and asked him if he was lying to me. He then told lie #4, which was more of a white lie. Lie #4 was that judges do mandate people to take formal driving classes. What he left out was that that's for people who are irresponsible like drunk drivers, drug drivers, road ragers, etc. I stood my ground i told him no. He conceded and scheduled the road test. September I told him i could only do Fridays and he warned me that it would take a while. I knew that and accepted because Friday was my only weekday that i was available. In November i received a text telling me that my road test was WEDNESDAY November 28th. I calmly called him and reminded him that i could only do Fridays. In December 21st, i realized that i still didn't get a text for my road test so i called him and told him i could do any weekday since I was on winter vacation. He thanked me because it made it easier for him. In January, about a month later, I still didn't receive a text for my road test so i called him. He didn't pick up and RIGHT after i hung up, I received a text from him telling me that my road test was FRIDAY March 1st. I was angry because it was a lot longer than it was supposed to take and my winter vacation was over on that day and the timing of that text was suspicious as hell. I calmed down and accepted it because at least it was on a friday and i could do only fridays. Sometime in February, i received a text from him telling me that my road test was TUESDAY March 5th. That was the last straw for me. Now i know that the text telling me my road test was Friday March 1st was a huge lie, lie #5, that he told me out of panic as a distraction. I tried calling him multiple times a day demanding a refund. He never picked up for the next 2 weeks. I had to call his son to tell Mr. Laine to pick up his damn phone. Mr. Laine finally did and i demanded a refund. He tried to scam me, again, by refunding me some of the cost and claimed that some of it went to the DMV. That was lie #6. You pay for 2 road tests the day you pay for your permit. You DO NOT pay for the DMV road tests through your instructor. I didn't back down and demanded the FULL refund and he finally conceded. Ironically, after my 5 hour class with him, he asked me to leave a good review. Instead I'm going to give the review he deserves.
Thank you Again!! for the great lesson on driving, Instructor was very polite & knowledgeable. About the different rules & regulations of driving. It was a joy being in the car with him! I highly recommend them to anyone!!
I highly recommend Alpha and Omega driving school to anyone who wants to learn how to become a driver. I have been to two other driving schools and must confess that the instructors at Alpha and Omega driving school are different. Alpha and Omega driving instructors put their students' satisfaction first. Unlike the two other driving schools I went to, my instructor at Alpha and Omega driving school is very patient. He does not yell at me when I make a mistake, but rather tells me to pull over. He takes his time to teach me how to correct my mistakes. The instructors at Alpha and Omega driving school do not merely teach you how to drive but also how to become a safe driver! I must thank my wonderful instructor, DAVID, for being so patient with me and for teaching me what I need to know to become a confident and a safe driver. I am confident that I will pass my road test on my first try. Choosing Alpha and Omega driving school was a great decision and I have already recommended it to my friend. Ms. Wogu
They are very professional driving instructors. My driving instructor, Allen really taught me great to drive a car and how to be safe on the road. I love it! I went to other driving schools at New Rochelle and they really didn't satisfy me until I tried out Alpha Omega Driving School.
On the first day of my driving lesson, I appreciated how much my driving instructor Mr lanes, took the time out to explain the small but essential details. Rather than starting up the car and having me drive, he took his time to explain the rules and key concepts of driving
The Driving instructor does a very excellent job on explaining the things that I need to know in order to pass the test and I really feel good about that because I learn everything that he teaches.
It is one of the best diving schools in nyc the instructor is absolutely amazing I'm sending my son and everyone I can think of to him
I went to another driving school and failed my road test. A friend of mine recommended Alpha and Omega Driving School to me. Best decision ever. Mr. Laine is a very good instructor. Most of what I am learning now, the school before didn't teach me. I recommend this driving school to all.
This driving school has given me the knowledge and confidence to drive safely. Mr. Laine is an amazing, knowledgeable instructor who makes you feel comfortable at all times. Alpha and omega is the perfect place to obtain the tools necessary to become a great driver.
Mr laine is a very good instructor he teaches you very well very honest patient and very knowledgeable it is worth the lesson and I will recommend this to anyone.
The driving instructor was very professional. He explained the rules and regulations of the road very clearly so you could understand. The instructor was very patient and explained how exactly to pass the driving test. You will get your money worth for each 45-minute lesson.
I've been calling non stop and I can't get in touch with him. Another number they had listed and someone hung up on me and wouldn't answer when I called them.
My instructor was very professional and direct. He teaches everything you need to know to pass the test. He is very patient. I enjoyed my lessons.
On my first day i learned a lot of the little things that a typical driver would forget. Such as what is Pivoting (is when the heel of your right foot remains on the ground ,while you pivot back and forth between the brake and gas). And the rules to pulling out, the proper way to stop when you see a Stop sign.
Being a teen from NY I never really had the need to drive anywhere. Anywhere I needed to go the bus and train would take me there any time of the day. Now that I am going to school in Rhode Island and plan to live there, I have more of a reason to drive now more than ever. From taking this 5 hours class I have learnt a lot about the do’s and don’t of the road. Just from this class I feel like I have made the right choice in driving school. The 5 hours class has given me a lot of information. I learnt how driving and driving can lead to the worst, how the smallest mistake can lead to the biggest problems and that every second counts while driving. 2 seconds can save your life and someone else’s life as well. Along with these things I have learnt that a seatbelt can make all the difference. In a video that I watched, a woman’s life was saved by a seatbelt in a car crash that cost her friend to lose his life. Something that really stood out to me in this class was the video on road rage. A lot of people I drive with do get upset but not to the point of the people in the video. In one story, a man killed someone for not letting another driver pass. He felt that he had the right to kill an unarmed man because of what he did. In another story a man got arrested for his road rage. He was driving over the speed limit.
This is a wonderful driving school where the instructors are professional and personally ensure that you actually learn. At the Pre-Licensing class you are actually taught lessons and Mr Laine ensures that you understand. Leaving this school you have confidence to go on the roads. Great school!!.
Unprofessional!! I paid for a 5 Hour Class and never got back to me about the upcoming classes, I HAD TO CALL THEM! i bet if i didn't call they would have taken my money and forgot about me. I Ended up refundung and going to a different school.
My Instructor was Great. Thought me all the basics before driving around.
This driving school is really great so far I've been learning so much about the mechanics of driving after just a few lessons. My instructor is very precise and always makes sure to test me on what I know to ensure that I'm actually understanding what I'm being taught. If I ever make a mistake my instructor pulls me over and discusses what I did wrong so that I can see what needs to be changed so that I can improve. Alpha and Omega is awesome and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to get their driver's license.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!!!!! The instructor is a liar and a thief, do not believe these reviews, they are all lying for him. I paid for 10 lessons, Mr. Laine only gave me 5 lessons so he basically bunched them all into 45 mins sessions. The car he picked me up in was an old piece of GARBAGE, the model was so old and used that there was duck tape holding up the mirrors. He took me out for my lessons and would have me drive him around to run errands. This man is NOT to be trusted nor should he be allowed to teach. ALSO Mr. Laine is the owner/driving instructor which is not advertised, the address is NOT the address that is advertised as well. The address is really in Mount Vernon. He stole my money and wouldn't even refund me or help me. THIS MAN IS A RIP OFF !!!!!!!!!! RUN.
One of the best driving schools in America.
Mr Laine is a good instructor, the driving sessions are well conducted, he gives useful and honest comments about your driving and he helps you through the whole process from your first lesson all the way to your road test.
I had a wonderful lesson with my instructor.things I never knew,I got to learn a lot .like pivolting, pull out and pull over and different stopping signs and more.thank you
A+ Driving school and great instructor.
I decided to finally do lessons and took time off work. They have 5 different numbers that do not work, they don’t answer the phone for the hours they have listed. When someone finally answer the phone, they were rude! Even after speaking with him, I did as I was instructed and still have yet to hear anything. You have to wait 24 hours to even book a reservation it is time consuming. Of course getting a refund is much harder than paying. They also have different locations and I have yet to find a valid location. I also asked to speak to a manager and still have yet to hear from them. At this point I just want my money back!
Great driving school. I learned a lot about how to be a safe and effective driver. Would definitely recommend to friends.
Amazing instructor! Teaches you the basics before throwing you into driving all around.
Very responsible and patient. Gives guidelines on what to expect on the drivers test. Helpful and caters to student. Would recommend
I learned a lot of techniques for driving
Was planning to go to this driving school until after I went on a wild goose hunt trying to find this place.... I went to their location on Boston road, it was no longer there, so I decided to walk to their Eastchester location which was an abandoned house with locks on the gate... wasted my time walking around with my daughter, also what made it worst was that I was told over the phone that I could only pay online and there was no payment plan option.
great.
The instructor spoke to me before for we even moved the car to see how much I knew and I didn't know anything. Now I see why I failed my road test twice already but I really know that when I am ready I will pass it. You really have to now the revolving mechanics of the rules of the road and driving
He explains in details what do you have to do to pass the driving test and he uses association and repetition teaching modes. The only part that i wish i could change is that when you buy the lessons for example 5hrs you will meet the instructor 3 times. Meaning that your for 40-45mins per lesson will be divided between those 3 visits. But besides that your money is really worth it.. I am planning to take more lessons with the same instructor! It is worth it.
Today was my first day and I already feel good about this instructor , he patient and he teaches step by step very well.
Horrible experience. Told me I could take the test then made up some excuse to try and get more money out of me the day of the test. They also tell you to write good reviews or else they won't continue teaching you before your experience is even over. Would not recommend to anyone.
Good teaching techniques. Not complicated at all.
Mr.Lynd is the best instructor ever! Great School! I am so so so greatful for this school! I learned so much in just a little bit of time. I was in Cowells Driving School (worst school ever) and I wasted so much money on a 10 package lesson, I DID NOT LEARN ANYTHING IN 10 CLASSES from COWELLS SCHOOL. The first day I met Mr.Lynd he teached me everything I needed to know. He actually gave me speech lesson before letting me drive, which was so helpful. Mr. Lynd makes sure you learn everything. He will help you past your road test. Best teacher ever! Thank you!!
Had my first lesson today! It went well and I am looking forward to the future lessons before my road test.
Alpha and Omega is a great school. I was extremely happy about going there. I would recommend this driving school over and over and over again.
He is very patient with you and he wants to make sure you pass the road test on the first time only problem is scheduling a lesson. **Update** This driving school is horrible didn't learn a thing I got my license from another driving school years later. Don't go here.
The instructor is great !
So far i've only taken 1 lesson, and will definetly come back for the final review overall. But im feeling very good about this experience so far; the instructor is very professional, knows the proper way to communicate and interact with student on a professional level. MOST IMPORTANTLY, on time and the full 1 hour lesson, nothing less nor more, and i walked out of the 1st lesson with a lot of information.
Alpha and Omega is the best DRIVING SCHOOL I've ever went to. I went to a few different driving school and I could not get the proper concept of the driving. I am grateful I have my license because of my wonderful instructor Mr.Lin and I am so thankful for his teaching. Thank You Ashabi
The driving instructor was very professional. In all the driving sessions, Mr. Laine would take time to work on any particular aspect of driving that required constant practice. As an instructor, he paid particular attention to detail. This included asking questions that served as a refresher even before we got on road to practice. Although, I still require constant practice as a beginner driver, I had a good foundation from the driving class. In addition, the 5-hour prelicensing class was comprehensive and interactive. It was easy to remain alert and focused.
Best driving school in bronx
After years of not taking driving lessons and after stalling getting my license, I decided it was time to pick up some real driving lessons that would actually teach me something. Admittedly, I picked them at first because they were cheaper than the driving school near my house, but everything turned out great. Teacher was professional and extremely knowledgeable. They work with drivers of all types, beginners or half experienced, and you get to learn what you really need to know! I would recommend this driving school to anyone.
Refreshed my knowledge, made sure I was on point for my road test
Alpha and Omega Driving School is an amazing school. I was able to learn some important information about driving and being on the road. I would recommend anyone looking for a enriching and professional driving school experience to attend Alpha and Omega Driving School.
So far the driving school has been great. The instructor has taught me so much about how to drive and how to pass the test before we get into the driving. In less than an hour I have learned material that normally takes a few days of practice.
Great driving school. You're guaranteed to be a driver at the end.
The teacher shows great patience in sharing his knowledge with me
I first attempted to learn how to drive at a driving school near my house. The experience was awful but I assumed that was just a part of "learning". Taking lessons at Alpha & Omega Driving School is a complete 180° difference from my first driving school. My instructor was patient and explained every rule thoroughly. I feel much more comfortable behind the wheel now. I heard about A&O from a cousin, who herself had heard about it from a friend. I have already recommended it to two friends and will definitely be doing so even more in the future
I was a student with Mr. Laine back when the school was up-and-coming. My mother had been singing the man's praises, and paid for me to go with him...bad idea. Did I get lessons? Yes, but they would sometimes involve picking up other students for their lessons (which would cut mine short). Did he instruct me in how to do certain things properly? Yes, and he made me take notes, but he also expected positive reviews as part of his "homework". I believe at one point he even wanted me to help with some aspect of his business, as though it was all some favor in payment of the lessons (alongside the money he was gauging us for). In the end, I failed my test (my own fault), but I would never recommend this scammer or his ongoing scam to anyone I didn't like.
Thorough instructions. You drive with confidence and learn to be a true defensive driver, which is what NYS is looking for. I would highly recommend for 1st timers and those not satisfied with their previous schools. I dislike however that we are told to write reviews as part of the 5hr course because then the reviews aren't authentic. Also the school is a bit costly.
Mr laine is a good instructor he gives you the advices to become a good and safety driver !
1) No one by the name of Missy V. has ever registered to our school. 2) Every student of Alpha and Omega knows Mr. Laine's name and can spell it correctly (when Mr. Laine introduces himself to a student for the first time, that is the first thing he acknowledges). 3) It is specifically stated on our website that if you register for internet services, each lesson is 40 minutes and not 45 minutes, as stated by this individual. 4) Alpha and Omega Driving School does not believe that quality services have to be delivered in newer model makes of car. Once the car is well maintained and registered by the DMV, that is all that matters. 5) Mr. Laine is a very good and credible instructor. 6) It is advertised all the time (newspaper, brochure, magnets, etc.) that Mr. Laine G. is the lead instructor of Alpha and Omega Driving School and Training. 7) It is also advertised on the internet (Google, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, Instagram), that under NO CIRCUMSTANCES, will Mr. Laine have his students running errands on their time. 8) Lastly, we understand that some people are looking to get something for nothing, but that is not the way of Alpha and Omega Driving School and Training. We believe a service well rendered consists of the instructor being punctual, teaching well the lessons they are being paid to teach and treating students with respect, professionalism, and dignity. These are the core values at our institution.
I suggest this school to all first time drivers. The information you receive is outstanding!
Very nice and patient instructor. He's here early never late. I think this driving school is a good one for first time drivers
If you're looking for an instructor who takes an integrated and personal approach to driving then look no further than Alpha and Omega Driving school. The 5 hour class was far from boring and was very interactive and discussion based.
