I just sold my aircraft through Performance Aircraft Sales and Bill Heckathorn and his outstanding staff. I have owned numerous aircraft and I have worked with other brokers, including those affiliated with Cirrus Aircraft. I can say with certainty that Performance is by far the best experience I have had. Outstanding communication, service and very reasonable. The photos and videos of my aircraft made it extremely easy to market the plane and impressively done; superior to any experience I had with other brokers. The fellow who bought my aircraft was equally impressed with Performance. He felt purchase of the aircraft and transition from my company to his was professionally done and easy for him. I originally chose Performance because of previous experience with Bill Heckathorn. He is very professional and easy to work with. In addition Performance is centrally located in the U.S. at a major airport making access for buyers convenient. I knew Bill would sell my plane quickly and the way he presents the plane through photos and videos; I knew I would get the best price for my plane. Bill is extremely knowledgeable of the used aircraft market. He is always up to date on all of the resale internet sites. He knows what aircraft are worth and he will advise you of the best price range to sell your aircraft and also the best strategy to purchase a used aircraft. Beyond extensive marketing and quality marketing through photos and videos, Bill kept in touch with me regularly during the process. I have told friends with aircraft to use Performance. In fact I have continually urged Cirrus to make Performance a preferred partner for resale of Cirrus Aircraft. I can state from personal experience with Performance and the other preferred brokers used by Cirrus, that Performance is hands down the best way to purchase or resale one's aircraft, especially Cirrus. Purchasing your first aircraft is naturally very daunting. Adding to the challenge, we are based in Mexico, so most listings are thousands of miles away. However, Performance Aircraft made the task surprisingly easy, thanks to very complete information including detailed photos and logs available directly through the website. We had a clear idea from the very beginning, that we are looking at an aircraft in excellent condition. All the process, starting with negotiations, title search, pre-buy inspection, and deal closure was handled very professionally. Mike even helped us find insurance and was very pro-active in communicating with all the entities involved in the purchase. We will definitely first consider Performance Aircraft next time we are looking to purchase or sell an airplane!

I initially chose Performance Aircraft because they were selling a plane I was interested in buying. I needed to sell my current plane to buy a new one, and I was impressed with the way Performance marketed the plane they were selling, so I decided to use them. Performance Aircraft helped me sell my plane in two ways. One way was doing all the leg work. They flew to the location of my plane, took pictures of all the log books and took pictures and videos of my plane. Second, they did a very thorough market analysis which helped me price my plane competitively, and then did a very expansive marketing of the plane on all the usual aircraft buy/sell sites. They did all this for a very fair charge. Overall, they did a fantastic job marketing my plane and helping me sell it at a great price. If I was asked about my experience with Performance Aircraft, I would say it was an excellent experience and it exceeded my expectations.

I've been a customer of Performance for many years and done all my training with them. While they have an exception flight instructor staff, I no longer feel the company is customer-oriented. Recently they continue to raise rates on both aircraft rentals, instructor rentals, and club memberships - all while lowering benefits from these items. Aircraft are no longer equipped with autopilots, the GPS screen size was reduced to a size that is very difficult to use while flying, and there is almost no benefit to being a club member anymore. When inquiring about the reasoning behind remove club benefits, I was told these features were no longer possible with their reservation. However, I have used the same system many other places and these features do exist, therefore proving the "not possible" statement to be a complete lie. At this point, I don't feel like a valued customer to them. They are no longer customer-oriented, we are all just $$$ walking through the door. While they have exceptional instructors, I no longer recommend Performance to those who ask for advice on where to take flight lessons.
