I can not thank you enough for being so rude to me on the phone. I wish that you had simply told me the cost, and time for the school, without demanding that I fill out a 2 page application first, but I am glad you did that. Thanks to your incompetence, I did a little research online. Were you aware of all of the reports of your school on Ripoff Report online. Were you aware, that your school is the only school in the MO Better Business Bureau's website, that did not receive an A+ rating........but instead got a C+ rating? Have you read all of the insane negative allegations against your school that were posted on Google reviews? Have you read some of the comments that were posted on facebook about your horrible school, and horrible business practices? Well I am VERY grateful that someone there was so incredibly rude to me on the phone, or else I wouldn't have found out about what your school is really like.

MTC is not as bad as some people make it out to be. Are some of the instructors are little/seem rough they do it for a reason. Make sure you come prepared have your permit if you can study your pre-trip before you go. If you have a night class be prepared to write a couple chapters out of the book. Study your 4 step brake test and you will do fine. Use your time wisely show the instructers your willing to learn. Don't screw off and watch how everyone else does the maneuvers you might see somethng to help you. My only complaints some of the training seems to be a bit backwards. I feel throttle and brake control should have been the first thing we learned before jumping in the trucks for maneuvers. I also feel some of the trucks should have been fixed before letting us use the trucks. I feel if the trucks where leak air in the brakes bad enough at we had to build them up several times while doing the maneuvers.

Their goal is to help you get your CDL, so if you follow what the instructors tell you, you will succeed. It’s an accelerated program, so you need to be prepared to work hard. Mr. Ed, Ben, Phil, and Lamont provide a lot of valuable knowledge. I recommmend anyone doing this program to choose night shift. I did both day shift and night shift and preferred night shift. My only complaint about the program is that the learning style needs to be more flexible. Not everyone learns the same way, so independent study needs to be more available. Some people learn from writing, some from listening, some from watching, some from hands on - many learn from a combination of these. Moreover, I think the curriculum needs to be adjusted. Writing the pre-trip 3x before I understand the value of the words defeats the purpose of the task/exercise. Honestly, writing 1x-2x at the end of week 2 would be more beneficial than 3x before week 2 (yard/driving) starts. Still, I’m grateful for my time at MTC!

Please find somewhere else to go! Some community colleges do this training and it can be paid for through the WIA. Also, research truck driving companies you would like to work for THEN research THEIR direct training programs. MTC is the bottom of the bottom piece of trash, poor customer service, revolving door looking for money only, not caring about how they put you on the road ill-equipped.

The instructors tell and show you how to do it, it's up to you to learn. They're not there to baby sit you. Joe is a good guy, he's just a lil overwhelmed. It seems like it's more than he can handle. He need some help but a good guy. Mr.Ed (killa), Kirk, Doug, Ryan, Craig, Israel, Wally, Filipe,Mr.Garry are all great instructors. I was 1 and done but didn't receive my money for it. Oh and the Extended Stay (BED BUG CITY) they place you in is from your carrier not MTC.

Nick Lamb

Good daytime folks. I am grateful to have the opportunity to start and finish this course and along the way have made some good friends. Ms debbie Joe jd Philip marry Charley lamonte Garry ian and mr ed wanna say thank you for all your help throught the course. If the opportunity ever arises to be able to attend this course dont pass it up and dont let it pass you up. It will be worth the work in the end

Im considering but I feel if some of the ones with the ignorant comments either don't like the intensity of the training as if it should be handed to em. I am considering going, and i feel anyone dedicating themselves to helping another better themselves should be more appreciated not the opposite. From what I see from reviews just checking to see what im getting into, is multiple things to discourage others to either not attend somewhere that drives you to acheive due to the high demand for drivers. And I believe they don't want competition or just not expanding your minds to think about further opportunities past just driving. If you feel help is needed strengthen yourself and mind to help to see others succeed instead of down talking who you already admitted was overworked but still there helping ingrates. If maybe a check problem which I've read i don't know the entire reasoning but you gotta know the buisness. Sometimes you wait 30days for pay. But when it comes the lump sum looks

I had a great experience at MTC. From the first call during recruiting, all the way through training, to my State CDL Test I couldn't have asked for more. All of the information from how much to bring for food to the materials provided in class to get my permit and train for CDL testing was spot on. Tia is an amazing recruiter. She did a stellar job explaining the process of my training schedule which was completely accurate to my experience. She has been an amazing resource throughout my training period and you can really feel that she cares about your success. The trainers were outstanding. Mr. Ed is an amazing classroom teacher and does a great job of ensuring that you are fully prepared for your permit testing. Gary is a Pre-Trip master and fully explained every part, procedure and keywords needed to pass that portion of the CDL Test. I requested night shift and I was extremely pleased with the training staff. Ben, Ryan, Charlie & Ray were the night shift instructors that I personally had the most interaction with and they really matches my willingness to learn with a willingness to teach. Like everything you get out what you put in and at MTC if you come here with an open mind, a good work ethic and a teachable attitude the instructors will make sure to do everything they can to get make sure you succeed and get your CDL as quick as possible. I went to my State CDL test fully confident that i would pass equipped with the training that I recieved here at MTC. As a bonus to being a "1 & Done" tester, I was encouraged by one of the MTC road instructors to get my Doubles/Triples & Tanker endorsements which I passed no problem. I would fully recommend Tia & MTC to anyone looking to get their CDL.

The training was streamline and well done.

Just dont do it.

Denardrio Coates

Don't do it don't do it dont do it now with that being said i went there and got my cdl if you not a fast learner you will fail i repeat you will fail and they wont pay your way back home. The choice is yours. 99th they was on the news 2 months after i left for bed bugs at the hotel they send u too but its really not that bad. In my opinion. But honestly in my fair opinion if you go here get a head start ask questions learn from students not just instructors. Because there really is not alot of teachers anyway so study a few weeks in advance. You will get permit first so start with that first.

Methaq Rahman

I recommend this school to any one who try to getting his CDL . They will teach you and support you and overcome your fears about the trucks . Eventually I got my CDL . Big thanks to ( joe + gary + yoder +Linda ) and the rest instructors

I attended Mtc in 2016...this program gave me a foundation to the best career decision I’ve made yet. The staff there in hazelwood Missouri is great. It was inspirational to watch Mr joe and his family run the show. I learned a lot from teachers and instructors like ms Joanne ...god bless u all and best wishes to you and the future students.

E-Restriction, E-Restriction, E-Restriction, E-Restriction, E-Restriction, E-Restriction, E-Restriction, E-Restriction, E-Restriction, E-Restriction, E-Restriction, E-Restriction. Take Your Test in a Manual Transmission They will not give you your certificate & they'll deny you as their driver.

Norris Rumph

Shot out to mtc Hazelwood mo It was ah good school to get my CDL career started All of the trainer was great They teach u Everything u need to know Seriously Great school!!!

James Jackson

Attended the school, had to leave for a family emergency, attempted calls, emails, etc about returning to finish, except for driving the 4 ¹/² hours from where I lived to talk to them in person. Never heard anything back, now I'm being garnished. For a school I wasnt allowed to finish. Though they claimed I finished the course. I would not recommend this school to anyone that wants to drive a 18wheeler for a living. You have no way to any stores, to get supplies unless you walk or bring money to use for caps or bus fair. Closes is store is over a mile away from the hotel, they put you up in. Instructors seem to give more attention to students that show more promise then the students that need more help.

Ebony Couch

Im here now i got until 10 to get out there is no one here to help me im from Jacksonville fl not even a ride to the store or even Attempt to get me clöse im not from here please help!!!!!!!' I HAVE A FAMILY AND ITS TOO MUCH TOO GET BACK THEY DONT TELL U THIS BEFORE U START

Some of my points have been previously made but its worth saying again. 1. This is an accelerated school to teach you what it takes to get your license. Its up to the student's to learn what the instructors teach you in order to get your license. If you put a 110% into it you will get your license. I'm not saying it will be easy, but you will be successful. You must use your free time to study. 2. The night instructors are the best!!! Thank you: Ben, Lamont, Ben jr, Charlie, Tim & Ray. These instructors really care about you and teaching you properly. Not only that but they care about your saftey. Its up to the students to listen what they teach you. 3. Also, heads up on the living conditions. Your not there for a vacation. Just a place to sleep, eat, shower and a place to sit down and do homework/study. 4. Finally I do recommend this to anyone wanting to get their cdl. Yes this will be tough, but this is the easy part in comparison to being out there on the road. Again thank you so much Ben, Lamont, Ben jr, Charlie, Tim & Ray it was a pleasure meeting you and I hope I get the time to stop in and see you all again. A few others I want to say thank you too: Joe, Ed & Linda.

Preston Dover

Still attending great school. Very very helpful people they know there stuff . They are there too get you your cdl nothing more nothing less, but its up to you .

Makk Dee

Its a great excelerated course to get your cdl, and receive job placement once you graduate. The bad reviews probably come from people who didnt pass because they didn't apply themselves or it truck driving just wasnt for them. Definately at least a 4 star school.

Brandon Frick

Great instructors from the class room to the road. I highly recommend this school. It's a smaller school so smaller groups so you get more hands on training. Kurt from MTC in Cape is the best, that man has helped me jump start my career couldn't have done it without his advise! Chuck from Premier CDL Training in Granite City is a great guy down to earth if you have any questions he has a answer. Greg and Lesley are the yard and road instructors they will help you in any way so you can understand everything you need to know about getting your CDL. Overall a great school good people I would definitely recommend this school for your CDL training! 5 STARS!!

Mowlid Dude

The worst CDL school in United State if you want to get your CDL please don’t go this stupid school are not teaching you nothing and if you fail the CDL test three time they will send you home and charge you money. Bad school 15 people one Truck and there Truck is always break down

I enjoyed my time there in Hazlewood. MTC gives you a platform to learn with no money out of pocket and you get your CDL license. You pay for your own food and other ancillary cost. If you go there with grit hustle and drive; $50 a week for food and $100 emergency cost (the unknown). You will get your CDL IN 4 weeks A.K.A. 1&Done, pass all test the first time. They will give you back $130. Anybody who has a negative review, probably did not pass their test. That’s on you! P.S. I got my CDL THERE!!! God loves you and so do I. AND THERE AIN’T NOTHING YOU GONE DO ABOUT IT EITHER!

Debbie Smith, the US Xpress representative was very helpful in our orientation and answered all our questions. The hiring process with Mrs. Smith is simple and straight forwarded. Very excited that I decided to start my trucking career at MTC in Hazelwood, MO. I first-hand enjoyed my training at MTC. The instructor were very helpful and knowledgeable about teaching student the basic principles of being a trucker. This school is fast paced and the student will excel if they focus and listen to the directions of the instructors. FOCUS is the KEY to SUCCESS at MTC. Thanks for the knowledge, Daniel

Mario Brown

Was lied to about meals & sleeping arrangements. Terrible showers and old nasty barracks to sleep and shower. They'll put you at a hotel for 3 days then drop the bomb on you, that your moving to the so called barracks. ASK ABOUT IT DON'T TAKE MY WORD!

Miesha Coleman

The school is an awesome experience with allot of hands on detail the employees there are wonderful and All the staff in each and every office are very welcoming Mrs Debbie is awesome I had a great experience as a CDL learner now a CDL driver ,,through there doors was a no one ,now I’m a Truck driver I thank God

AZARYAH YISRAEL

No lie just get in and get out i made some family and friends we all study everyday got in and got out in 4 weeks no bull if people putting 1 or two stars they were the ones who couldn't pass a drug test or flat out couldn't pass the easy driving test lol focus and get out and start driving im on the road rite now Yeeeee! Love MTC Joe and everybody. peaceeee!

Jeremy Schultz

Don't so it! Stay away from this "school" it's a scam and they only care about the almighty dollar and not your "education" this school should have been shut down a very long time ago.

OJ Truckin843

I was one and done but wouldn't tell anyone else to go there. Anyone who gives them more than 3 star's is a fake account or was kissing joe's or someone's you know what. They have no order and no respect if they feel like they can roll over you. *UPDATE* those of you the take the test in an automatic. Good luck trying to get some real money in your career. Any school that let's students test in an automatic should be shut down.

Worst school to learn to drive

T.J. Sonic

I was about to go here for U.S.Xpress, bUT too many bad reviews. And when I had questions that needed answering my school recruiter won't call me back on several occasions. So all in all I think I dodge a bullet. It's already hard on students like myself who are sacrificing a lot to start this new career. (Money, credit, and leaving current job) not to mention that your nervous and stressed just for the trainers to be unprofessional and ridicule students and may not pass you, and come out of pocket to take the test at the dmv if you fail a couple of times. Nah I will pass and wait for another school with professional trainers. But not knocking U.S.Xpress themselves, because I heard it's a decent company. I would say this if your unemployed and have nothing to lose; Trucking and the this school may be toleratibly for you. Good luck!

Zipporah McDougall

I love this school although it is an accelerated course you learn alot. The instructors really care!

5 STARS FOR THE Best Instructors they really care.... There not there to BABY SIT ...PAY ATTENTION DO WHAT THEY TELL YOU ... AND JUST DO IT.... I DID.... THANKS TO EVERYONE AT MTC.... LOVE YA

It was literally one of the worst experiences of My life. I was getting off a plane in San Diego CA for Boot camp in 1981 at age 17 and believe I got more respect. The women in the offices act like you are a step down from human. You are bothering them if you possibly need to ask anything. The woman at front desk will inform you that she doesn't need details when discussing something important with her, The director is johnny on the spot to make jokes about what part of the nation you are from and that would be all well and good if he didn't believe that it is just naturally Ok being he is in the position he's in. And the the yard instructors, they mostly speak in a mumbling voice while planes from the local Airport are flying over, they however will inform you that they will discuss which questions are worthy of their attention. They do need the time to come up with nick names for all the future drivers. They usually include names such as Killa, Baby Maker you get the picture. And then, The accommodations, you will be roomed with another person, not of your choosing, beliefs or approved background. They do clean your room on Tuesdays, Kinda. They will possibly change one bed and nothing else. Our room had been left with old food and trash on the floor but, you are expected to keep room clean after moving in. It would be nice to start with clean room! $8500 should cover a lil room cleaning and respect. Yes, @ $8,500, they didn't tell you that either did they. Have to transfer all license to MO to go to wrk for Company. some where else then go back to your home state and change it all back. Pay a questionable Dr. @ $360 for DOT Physical after spending whatever amount in another state for it. They wont accept it. But hey it's your $. They say they are there to help you get your CDLs not make you an OTR Truck Driver. Good thing!!! There are enough unprepared drivers on the roads already.

Ben and Lamont the night yard instructors were awesome I learned a lot from them they gave me the tools to one and done my CDL State exam thank you guys so much words couldn’t explain what you guys did for me!!!! Mr.Ed A.K.A (Killa/free dog) lol was awesome taught me how to straight line. Charlie, Horace, Tim and Kevin all gave me great lessons on the road Charlie taught me how to right hand turn and that every turn is a curve and every curve is a turn, Horace taught me how to do things in the truck under pressure, Tim helped me with calming down and taking the road as it came, and Kevin showed me how to coast! Joe is firm when he has to be and when he gets a good chance trust me he will fight for each and every one of us he believes in anyone who hasn’t given up on themselves and shows mercy when needed! Linda is sweet and caring she’s always got something funny or nice to say. Elizabeth is down right the definition of hilarious she’s great to be around she’s detailed, proficient and sharp as a whip. Debbie is so honest and sincere I barely knew her and I started asking her about her life and she smiled and answered my questions. I don’t care what people say about this place it was home to me for a month. They went above and beyond for their students there was a guy who hit a fence and they taught him so well he passed his state exam the second time. They dedicate their time and energy to those who need it. They will bend and they don’t break. Don’t listen to any other reviews because they are from people who aren’t use to working for a living. You will never meet more genuine people!

Truck Driver

Great time! Great school!if you want to learn they will teach you.

M. O. Crawford

I went here in the spring of 2008. I had never been in a truck, much less driven one. They did what tbey promised, which was to get me my cdl. They didn't promise to have a 4 star hotel stay or fine cuisine, which they lived up to. What I learned was the basics of pulling a trailer through St Louis traffic, how to back up and how to do a pretrip. I was able to get gainful employment afterwards. No regrets here. I am still rollin' 18 wheels in 2013.

Jeremy Hurt

Loved it! Thanks Joe and Dennis!

Kurtus Hagerman

I completed training here back in September of 2008. Im still employed in the industry today. Currently i haul in the oil fields making good money but I've also hauled doubles, flatbed, reefer, and propane tankers. Thanks to the base this school provided me I've driven heavy haul tow truck like you might see in shows such as highway thru hell. I've been coast to coast and border to border, and maintained a clean driving record and safe operation for 11 years and counting. This school may not be perfect but they will certainly launch you on a profitable career if you can maintain your safe operation.

Roy Sammy

Thanks to the staff and instructors for their professional skills and patients especially miss Debbie for her hard work and support, thank you.

vickie graham

great place to learn everything you need to get your CDL...keep a positive attitude and stay away from the negative students....YOU are in charge of your learning experience

Leslie Powers

MTC is a scam, they routinely send people to take their test when they know they will fail. They send you to test on a completely different class of vehicles than they use to train you (long wheel base test vs short wheel base yard trucks) and then blame the students when entire groups fail their CDL.

Bill Everett

I just graduated 12/21/12 on schedule, passed cdl on first try no problem. I have no real complaints, instructors were very helpful and i received adquate time behind the wheel. I see and hear some comlaints but pretty much all from ppl who don't take anything seriously or want everything handed to them on a silver platter. Hotel wasn't the nicest but it was just fine considering its free! Food not the greatest, but again it was fine considering it was free!

Nathan Siller

1 and done in Macon Mo. School is a bit rough around the edges , but that’s okay . You’re not there to make friends , you’re there to obtain the training for a Class A CDL license- that’s it ! The instructors taught me the tools , I had to apply all of it to pass . I would like to thank JD , Nick , Phil , Pops, Trico, Gary and Mr. Ed for being professional and giving me the knowledge to pass . I wanna thank Joe and Linda for being amazing and answering my questions, plus pointing me in the right direction. If you put forth the effort, you will pass .

Let's Talk About It Podcast

Worst truck driving school ever. It is HORRIBLE, do not attend. Not at all motivating all they want is your money. They lie and trick you.

Jeremy White

Amazing school with great help and instructors to get me to where I am today!!!

T. Jones

Terrible equipment, lack of instructor's, about 15 to 30 students per instructor, students watching other students on yard, poor management. Very under paid instructors and turn over rate is horrific. No pay raise's since 1998.

You get a FREE Greyhound there. You will either be paying for a Greyhound back home (You failed/Sent home/Didnt get hired etc) or ANOTHER FREE Greyhound to train with your trainer for 2-8 weeks. You will have a roommate or multiple roommates (one leaves, another comes the next day usually). That roommate might have the DAY shift or NIGHT shift. You better hope they have the opposite shift than you so you can have the hotel to yourself. You basically spend 12 hours a day at school everyday, either learning pre trip, in the yard, or driving with other students and instructors. They make you copy these paper packets that are pointless and will take up your free time, but I just didnt do them because you can still get your CDL and hired with USX. The food is terrible, it rotates McDs McChickens (old nasty lettuce), wendys hamburgers (again old and nasty), chicken rice (not too bad), or little ceasars pizza (again not too bad) BUT on Saturday and Sunday you will have to order food with your own $$ or bring your own or starve... You can go to Walmart twice a week or so. If you dont bring money it will not be that nice for you. I would say $100 would be enough for that plus another $100 for your bus ride if you dont make it. Study your pre trip before you come to this school and watch videos on Alley Dock, Parallel and straight back manueveurs. If you are late twice they send you home. Bus comes at 6am each morning to take you to school (15 minute ride). They do a drug test your first day and another one like a week later (Be smart, its a urine test). The instructors do their job. Lamar is the best one there (night shift). Hotel room is decent. There is no breakfast besides a grenola bar and coffee. If you fail your state test more than twice prepare to pay out of your pocket to take it again or just go home. Goodluck. I passed state on my 2nd try and work for USX dedicated Meijer account 1100-1500 a week.

Eileen Fulton

This school is a joke. Rude and arrogant instructors and rushed training. If you find a trucking company to work for, most have their own schools that give you more then the basics. You pay them back as you drive for them and you wont have to work for a bottom feeder company. Run fast from MTC!!!

Amanda Lindsay

Attended mtc but was far from good...instructors showed you once how to do the menuvors then left to go chat with other instructors. They even would walk behind your truck WHILE YOU WERE BACKING UP. Never went over the pre trip with my class, threatening that they could leave whenever they wanted and didn't care, during hot days there was no shade provided in the yard, no cool water provided.max times behind the wheel was once to do the manuver and then they moved on to something else. Two of thier trucks broke down providing less time to practice trucks are unsafe with leaks, broken lights, engines that are only patched up to min requirements. Steering is off on them and even though thier equipment is old and outdated they expect perfection on them.

Shalene Maxwell

This is a Scam please save your time and money and go somewhere else!!!! They are very unprofessional and will do anything to get your money but isn't willing to come through with anything. The whole program is rushed you sit in class for 12hr each day watching video. The environment is very up tight you'll feel like you at a boot camp. The staff is disrespectful and act as if you annoying them if you try ask a question. I should have know something wasn't right from the recruiter we spoke to wouldn't give any meaningful information about the place and was ready for us to be there as soon as possible. They don't care about the students if they succeed all they care about is you coming there cuz they know once you walk onto the campus you own them money..

michele Liggett Delatore

Went to MTC school in St Louis Missouri night shift they're five weeks didn't even pass the yard sent me to state not ready -3 times failed and have to pay $75 to rent a truck still didn't get my CDL, behind my electric bills due in my phone bills too and I'm leaving here empty-handed couldn't stay unless I had 75 more dollars to rent the truck again so I had to leave very sad disappointed Ryan that the owner's son is very good instructor learn from him if if you got the get with him he wasn't there all the time because they worked him from night to days over worked cause the night shift instructor don't do nothing. Ran me off of alley Doc every time but let other Men stand around do it back to back . tonight the other instructor at night time I didn't learn a damn thing from I'm very sad about this I'm broken-hearted this was my dream job and now I don't even have a dream anymore never was late never missed a day and never stood around I tryed. Passed my pertrjp first time to state. Got good Driving skills for a 90 on that. But the yard kept failing .enough said ...so so broken heart ed.

jonathan reddick

Take my addvice go some where ,else it is severely over crouded, the staff is under paid and the "So called Doctor Michael Tso" that does your physical @ the school is really a chiropractor, and not all states will accept a DOT physical from a chiropractor office

I went to the Park Hills campus for MTC. With that being said it is a small campus and there were three instructors total. They let you know right out the gate that they are not there to teach you how to be a truck driver but only how to drive the truck to get your CDL. I thought things went well at first. I obtained my CDL. I had to have a sponsor to attend. Now having a sponsor means that they are signing with the school to pay back so much out of your check and they will contribute to your loan as well. This in no way means that you are guaranteed a job with said company. I had issues after completion with my recruiter for the sponsor company. I called the lady in charge at the campus I attended and she assured me it would be okay. I would be charged additional interest to pay my own loan back now. So I found another company to go to orientation with. Today I received a rather hateful phone call from an MTC rep in St. Louis, MO. Apparently there was a lack in communication from the Park Hills campus to the STL campus. Someone who did not know me at all. He was very rude and almost to the point of yelling at me bc I did not go to the sponsor company. I have made multiple attempts since yesterday to get ahold of the MTC office personnel at Park Hills and have yet to reach her. But as far as the instructors at MTC, Charlie, Dustin, and Greg were very helpful in teaching us the things we needed to know to obtain a CDL. As long as you can go in with a learning attitude and actually pay attention to what they say you will be fine.

Arslan Ahmad

I got my license from this school. All the instructors are very nice. Just one complaint I had was just too many students, you don’t get enough time behind the wheel. If you’re not a quick learner you’ll be there for couple of weeks

Steven Miles

Pénélope Tiberti

They make sure you get your CDL-A, and that's it. Their program is based on both the Missouri and the Illinois CDL-A requirements. There's still a lot of things to learn as you get your licence and get into the real world.

Jermaine Bolo Weathers

My experience at MTC was amazing. The instructors trained well and was well spoken it would have been impossible to do it on my own. Although the instructors should be more mean because the students never listen and they never be where they suppose to be where they are told to be on the yard. I actually say MTC hazlewood MO changed my life and helped me helped me to reach A huge accomplishment in my life. Brandon the instructor was awesome he was the only one that could teach and explain to me how to properly do A alley dock before I was worried because I just couldn't get it right I also want to thank Joe he was like the hard up father some of us never had some of us appreciate that to get us by in life and Anytime you was sleep or in a daze he reminded you why you was there if I could I would do it all again THANK YOU MTC

Justin Richardson

Great place overall. The instructors are great, the program is quick and I would do it again if I had to. The only thing that prevents me rating it 5 stars is one particular instructor who goes by Gary. He needs to learn how to talk to people respectfully and not let his authority go over his head. He disrespected me one day due to a misunderstanding. The incident was filmed by fellow schoolmates. Other than that, great place, great learning, great experience

MTC is a great school with great instructors who really want you to succeed. If you pay attention and commit to the program, you will get your cdl. Just remember, your not there to be a social butterfly and make friends your there to get a cdl no one else can get it for you. If you make a friend along the way that is a bonus but your main objective is your cdl. Stay focused and give it everything you got and we will help you get there.

chad lemmers

I'v all the stuff u guys wrote "cdl mill" only if u pass the test. "3 or 4 weeks" only if ur not all there. I went to mtc in oct '98 my name is chad .L. I never had set foot in a truck before them and I was in 2 weeks with a cdl and a job and I was 1 of the few that passed on the first try cuz I paid attention and did not mess around. I was there 4 1 reason and it wasn't to pal around.

I went to this school December 2018 through a referral program and hope I can help someone who is deciding to come I saw an ad on craigslist promising 38k - 70k a year for no experience truck driving training. they pay for you a bus ticket and have you live at a hotel in Missouri for about a month to do your training. Expect no days off and to bring atleast $500-1000 dollars in case of an emergency. You must feed your self for the most part and expect to have no free time. the school tuition is about 9k after interest but most of you will have to pay 1/4th of that with the company you will be working for to pay the rest while you work under them over a 1 year contract. It didnt take me 2 days to realize this was a program for desperate people to find a career with possible bad credit this can set you an a path to get a promising job. I wasnt desperate at all and if you are in a good position I recommend you do it yourself in your own state with your own time it will cost you less and you could make more money while being in the comfort of your own state. the starting pay is 0.29c per mile with USXPRESS up to 0.70c per mile and you get your own truck. that's what turned me off the most. all training is down with automatic transmission trucks. My final advice to you is that if you are in a desperate situation this is like a one year program to put you in good position to have a stable career good credit and good experience. However DO NOT do this if you have other options because you can make much more money doing it local plus 9k tuition is pretty hefty considering the amount of effort the school does to get you the knowledge. They cut alot of corners to make a bigger profit which was unacceptable to me considering I'm paying them 9 thousand. DO NOT be fooled into thinking the company will be paying 75% of the tuition because they will make that money back off your labour. Thank you and good luck!

This is a great school, but it is an "accelerated" course so if your serious about getting your cdl and willing to commit to it and put in the work it will pay off for you. All the guys working here are great people who actually care and want you to succeed and if your willing to commit to it, these guys will commit to you.

I am a US Army veteran and this was a great experience! Arrived knowing nothing. Left feeling well prepared and ready to support my company. The representative Debbie made me feel especially welcomed to the school and effectively answered any questions or concerns that I had during my term there. Good customer service goes a long way and it's always good to start while in school. Thanks again!

Excellent training and no nonsense. Designed to get the CDL ASAP. Instructors focus on getting the CDL. All of the instructors were helpful. Lamont was especially helpful, caring, and encouraging. The course is fast paced and provides essentials. If you listen, follow directions, and focus you will be successful in getting your cdl. Like all organizations some of their employees stand out: Lamont, Debbie Smith, Linda, Mr. Ray, Phil, Ryan, JD & Bob. Did I mention the super heavy duty workers - Debbie Smith and Linda?

I once attended MTC. When I arrived out there, I had such a strange feeling of being at that place for some odd reason. I attended classes for a few days and finally determined this wasn't for me. I also wasn't satisfied with the fact that completion would be longer than promised. Although the school promised I would be completing my road test within a month 9subject to performance) I learned from multiple peers (who were in the program in excess of one month and no CDL's yet) that they have not completed a road test with a state examiner yet and they felt they were hopelessly waiting. The school denied such claims, informing me that such students have either failed their road test previously or failed the school's training criteria to continue to CDL. When I arrived I paid the school just under $4,000. The contract promised a pro-rated refund, which I would receive in 30-60 days. I never received my refund from MTC. I made several contacts to the school indicating that I have not received my refund and left multiple voice mails, of which were never returned. After 90 days passed, I filed a complaint with the St. Louis Better Business Bureau. I also sought an attorney, who contact the school in writing on my behalf. A week or two later I contacted the school and finally reached the appropriate representative handling my issue. He gave me with the excuse that he has been out of the office for a set period of time. I responded that being out of the office is no reason for anyone to not contact me since a delegated employee serving during his absence could have handled the matter. He responded that no such person is delegated during his absence (an unprofessional way to operate a business). He refused to further discuss the matter until the school's attorney intervenes since I retained an attorney. He refused to provide me with the name of the law firm handling the matter. I also never heard from the institution's law firm. A month later and still no communication, my attorney advised me to file a claim with my credit card company (thankfully most major credit card providers offer buyer protection). I paid for my schooling with a card issued by Bank of America. BOA attempted to contact MTC to retrieve their side of the story, which MTC either failed to respond or failed to provide adequate reasoning regarding their action (or lack thereof.) BOA closed the case in my favor. My advise is if you are wanting to pursue truck driver training, your best option is to pursue a local training program. Most community colleges offer a truck driver training program at reasonable rates and you may also be eligible for assistance through a displaced worker program or similar. Research CDL training schools in your local area before making a decision to enroll in such program.

Went to school here back in Jan 17 been with my company of choice since then good overall school might wanna bring extra food money and also the hotels has nothing to do with the carrier you choose that’s MTC and a bunch of bad apples who ruined what they used to do upgrade and you’ll see the rooms your carrier will put u in big difference overall not a bad school especially if u live in the area

I rated MTC at a 4 Star Rating due to witnessing what goes on at MTC from the perspective of a Student AND a Training Center. First, EVERYONE has room for improvement. Yes, there is room for improvement at MTC. However, the Students that are sent to MTC have challenges. The Instructors and Director have to use Strong Boundaries when dealing with so many Students. The Students left their trash laying around, complained more than being engaged in what they were there to do. I heard many people complaining about the high failure rate at the school, but failed to accept responsibility for their learning. Many Students were very disruptive (with their phones, games, loud conversations) and disrespectful to other Students that were trying to understand the material, and the wasted time they spent playing around in the trucks! MTC expects Students to take their training serious, and you will test for the CDL Permit the second day!! It's my personal belief the school sets such an expectation in order to "weed out" the "game players" (yes, there are a lot of "game players" that like to waste training time.). It is my advice to schedule your training 2 weeks out, google the Missouri CDL Manual, and study the manual before attending the school. Doing so will really help you!! The Yard Training was irritating to a degree. The instructors demonstrated what to do. Once demonstrated, they worked with the Students - to a point. Honestly, most Students were too busy day dreaming to pay close attention. So when it took someone 1hr 15mins to do a manuver, it burns daylight, wates valuable training time for someone else. So, if there are 4 - 8 Students waiting for their turn to train in a truck, it may be 2 - 3 hours before being able to do so. The Yard Operation can use some Organizational improvement. But, the instructors are a great group of guys! Yes, there are a couple of "challenging" instructors at MTC that I could do without. Neverthless, when dealing with so many Students with just a few Instructors "challenges" arise. Joe Smith, Director... Joe is fair, but firm. Talking WITH Joe goes a lot farther than talking AT Joe with an arrogant attitude. I think that stands true for anyone in a position of authority. Mr. Ed... Great guy!! Very respectable, and easy going. Brad... Great guy!! Good instructor, pro active, and engaged. Yoder... Funny guy!! Great instructor. Marty... Fantastic to work with! Marty will give you Real Life scenerios during driving training! He is a NUT, but a fun NUT that makes the day fun with full of learning! The lunch is provided, but gets old really quick. Bring money ($200) to pack additional food for lunch, dinner, and weekends. The hotel is adequate (700 Location). The rooms are clean, organized, and comfortable. The shuttle drivers are A LOT TO BE DESIRED! I finished all requirements, testing, and had my CDL License in 17 days! I took my training serious, and refused to allow distractions, drama, other students, or challenging instructors (there were 2 that I did not mention here), or the hot sun from keeping me from my goal. I would ONLY recommend MTC to people that were VERY Serious about getting their CDL, and to those needing a Refresher Course. STAY AWAY from MTC if you have an attitude problem, warrants, Not Really Serious about getting your CDL, an alocholic, or a drug dealer trying to find an easy way out! MTC is NOT easy, and there are no "hand outs" or Entitlements!!

I went to the mtc trucking school in Richfield Ohio it was the one best experience I've ever had.they were very friendly and understanding and pushed me to succeed.I would recommend this school to everyone looking to get into a new career

jason brown

This is the only school that would take me because I live in Alabama, and I didn't have the money upfront to pay for the school. They put you on to greyhound bus, they give you a hotel room it's not five stars but it's decent, they give you a ride to school and they feed you Monday through Friday. It's a pretty good deal but you have to have a little bit of spending money for food and you have to study the CDL Book or go online and take practice CDL exams before you go. And stay positive there's a lot of students and there's not very many trucks at their job is to show you how to pass the CDL exam and the driving course when you go to get your license and they will do that. If you just show up and you don't know nothing and you don't have any money it's going to be tough very tough but I did it and I have been driving for six months now I just made $950 this week take-home pay and I love it.

keith dunlp

They took me from barley ever driving a car to being a cld A class driver in a matter of 4 weeks ..if I can make it hear....anyone else can to.. God bless this school ...

Autumn Yeaman

Misleading unaccredited school with internal financing guaranteeing they are paid back whether or not you are able to hack through the mental abuse bestowed on you by instructors. My husband could not pass physical for dot and he had heart problems so he could not complete program. He was not healthy enough to drive over the road. He has tried over the years numerous times to contact mtc for help, but they offer no solutions. They have an affiliate, Partners Financial Services, whom collects for there money owed on private student loans. My husband cannot even get a car loan because they have destroyed his credit. If this were an accredited school, my husband would not have the option of bankrupting this loan and they would not garnish a minimum wage job and make it impossible for him to support his children or buy a car to get to work. Every year an affiliate of theirs goes to court to garnish his minimum wage job. This is not a good choice for anyone going into the field of truck driving. Do your research folks, there are truck driving schools that do not have a fee because they are not predatory or for profit. MTC does not care if you cannot complete their program, unlike no cost truck driving schools where if you cannot complete their program they cut their losses. This one will ruin your life until you have to seek legal advice.

Mike Casady

The classes are so large you don't get a whole lot of practice time on the maneuvers. A good day means you will do a maneuver three times. Most days you only get to do a maneuver one time in the morning and one time in the afternoon. If I had it to do over again I would choose a school with smaller class size

Alex Silvers

Alright guys and gals here is the thing this place is a tool you must use it to get your cdl's if you use it wrong you won't get em if use correctly your gonna do fine. The instructors are there to help ask em to help you don't be scared most are there cause the love to see people succeed in a new career path. Don't get me wrong this is not gonna be a walk in the back rain sleet snow or shine you will be busting your back to get where you need to be. It's school act like adults show up and don't goof off. It's extremely fast paced so seriously if you don't understand ask. Here are some things they don't tell you. 1 don't bring any firearms or weapons even if legal to do so. You have to sign a contract that they can check your room. FYI the room is extended stay America in earth city. The morning bus runs around 0530 and you'll be back to your room around 1800. The afternoon bus runs around 1430 you'll be in your room around 0300.

I went to that school I learned a whole lot of stuff sure made it not been what I thought it was going to be but you know they taught me enough to know that when you're out there on the road you're a driver 24 /7 you gotta take care of yourself , take care of your truck ,you gotta be focus on what you're doing and they taught me exactly all that... Graduated December of 08 to this day I am driving very happy with good company... Have no complaints just one I never got my cap you guys promised me but its cool I love you guys thank you very much for all your patience you had with me...

agnes Jack

They tell lies you git ttest with broken truck and trailers the make you change your license to their state

Eric Rankins

In my opinion, this has been the best training. Its an excellerated coarse and the instructors are here for your success. I would recomend MTC training to anyone that's wants a successful career in trucking.

Vladamere Thomas

Trucks are barely operable and unsafe to be on the road; they have no mechanic. They charge $10 a day as part of your tuition cost and give you MAYBE $3 worth of food with no drink!! They send you to take your state test in raggedy trucks!

Kevin Sinclair

A good school they give you the skills Required too Obtain your CDL Instructors are experienced and helpful the only problem is the staff is Spread a little thin

Jennifer Scott

Great Instructors! Ryan, Lamont, Yoda are the best but I really have to hand it to Ryan for actually taking the time to explain why we do the manuevers and not barking turns at me. I did ally dock on my own and I clearly understand what I did wrong! Thank you Ryan and MTC!

Jes Wiest

Worst school ever! Did the whole training, passed everything and still no cal! If u not a MO resident the best they gonna do is get u a permit. Place is a joke! D.W.

Great time good people you put in the work it will pay off for you.

Lateasha Banks

Steven Koehler

Great experience, its hard work but worth it. the instructors care and want to see you get your cdl. Ben, lamont, little ben, mr.ed, mr.gary, they all put their energy at the school to see you succeed. I would tell anyone that wants to go into trucking or cdl driving, go to MTC.

The Perfect Driver

Great place to learn... Great trainers... I would recommend anyone trying to get there CDL here. If you can take a little constructive criticism you will be fine.. Some will beat you down and some will take there time with you. In the end it's up to you if you want to get what you need. I mean no one if going to hold your hand all the way through your test. If you pay attention and do what you have to do you will be great here... I did it and I am very happy... ONE AND DONE BABY!

Jason Reed

PARK HILLS, Mo. MTC: Outdated curriculum (pre-trip) and very unprofessional. Not a good learning experience. Instructors don't even act like they want to be there. I would NEVER recommend anyone to go there.

johnny mcGrath

Instructors give you the basic knowledge and there are 6/7 students per truck so no where near the 120 hours behind the wheel like the website indicated.. There were two instructors and 6 trucks on the yard and most of the time I spent teaching newer students how to do the maneuvers so I could get more turns.. The trucks need a ton of work done to them and the standard truck wouldn’t start or was gone most of the time... Very challenging to get what you pay for but you can achieve your cdl, just be prepared to do most of the work yourself!! GOOD LUCK

Mike Brennan

MTC is an AWESOME school to go to!!! Don't get me wrong, it is VERY challenging...but if you're there to put your nose to the grind, are eager to learn, study hard and listen to the instructors, you'll do great!!!! I one and done'd both my permit test and my license test, thanks to these guys :-) If you're there because you think trucking is easy and sounds like a "fun" idea...you will fail. Think you know it all and don't listen to the instructors...you will fail. Go in, work hard, listen to the instructors, put your nose to the grind and who knows? You may actually have some fun while you get your CDL!!! :)

Will Galey

I graduated in November of 2018 and the instructors did a wonderful job on teaching the ways to get the cdl. One thing joe has told me is that you have to want it. I have gone back to the school and thanked them for the work they had done for me to do the job i have today. For every person that comes up to me and askes how do i get my cdl i tell them mtc cause they care and want see you pass with the cdl in your hand. Thankyou mtc for the work you have done.

Stanley Davis

1 and done..... MTC is a fast pace straight to it school. They will teach you what's needed to pass your state test. I have nothing bad to say about the school. Do know, it's up to you on what you get out of it. You have to be an adult and not get distracted by the other students playing games. A++++

Steven marks

Great place to learn. The instructors are great and Very supportive. You get what you put in and if you let the drama get to you, you either push through or pull out. Its all about resilience!!!

Yul Taz

Price are way to high you don’t need spend over. $1500.00 on the Cdl.

Jacob Stephens

My experience while at MTC was one I will never forget. I am glad I was not babied while in class because I am a much better driver than most of the other new drivers out here. MTC has high expectations for their students and it shows by keeping us accountable for our actions. I saw people get terminated for not showing up to class. Didn't come there for a vacation i came for a new career and this is what I am doing now. A new career .The hotel we stayed at was something i would have used on a vacation not bad. The food was free so i used that recourse when I needed to . i would highly recommend this training program to anyone that is serious about a career in trucking. They will make sure you are prepared . I'm almost done with my first year accident free and always think of Kirk in the jump seat talking me though situations.

Matthew Hauser

Iccy Cartel

I gave 5 stars because I came here for 1 thing to get my CDL's was it easy "hell no" was it fun I'm going to say yes because every instructor knew exactly what their doing, if u listen to them trust me u won't fail 19 days of class 26 days here 3 days of testing I'm a class A CDL driver Joe just look mean but u came to him for help he didn't come to u so just follow rules and instructions and I'll see u on the road

omar elsaid

They're a scam

JJTOP SMILE

No one is to blame for lack of knowing but the student should ask questions if they have questions .. that's what I did .. come here with passing on the brain and you'll do good received amazing instructions shout out to Joe , Ryan , Mr Bob, Mr Kirk ,Yoda Mr Gary Mr Brad and a few others the only negative thing I have to say is that there wasn't really a system for people who failed permit or failed state test me being both of them but it's cool it's fun and you will enjoy your time here

Lavender Temple

Best school I was here for 4 weeks if you listen to the teacher and study you pass ..... I'm miss everyone specially Joe ......
