This driving school sucks. It was the worst thing I have been through. During this experience, I was forced to associate myself with the most disrespectful person on the planet: John.

2 man team running the school. They mess up the class dates, are very rude and yell at the learner as though there are no other driving schools in the world. They use an old tattered car for teaching, and this has been a problem during the class and during the road test. The instructor himself said that he hates teaching in the car. The instructor talks for over 15 minutes without giving practice and doesn't teach for the designated 1 hours. He tries to steal 10 minutes and takes his breaks during the class. He wont even adjust the time lost in the next class. They don't give any receipt but expect full upfront payment for all classes.

Highly recommend Porter driving school!! I took 2 driving lessons with John before my road test and I was impressed by his professionalism. He explains everything very clearly and easy to remember. He really made me more confident on the road. I can imagine how uneasy this job, but John is very patient and really want to help you. By the way, they have the lowest prices, comparing to other driving schools.

For most countries, foreign driving licenses can't be converted into Massachusetts licenses, so I had to do a road test. Scott and John did a great job clarifying the US driving quirks and what is expected of you on the test - it seems that they are particularly skilled with adult foreign students. They were very professional and courteous at all times. No surprises during the test! One headache less.

Do not go here. They never pick up the phone and don’t even reply back to your voicemail. And they slack on too many things.

John amazing!!! He is so patient and understanding while driving with all ages of people. Makes driving easy and very quick to learn from him. I highly recommend anyone who has kids or just need for them self to go here. You will not regret it fair on prices and just the best I have ever seen.. Thank you john

If you're considering this school I will suggest you to pay the extra money and used a different school. It takes too long to scheduled the lessons, the wait time is about one a month. I felt very frustrated waiting to complete the lessons since I want to get my license as soon as possible. If I had to do it again I would've spend the extra money to used a different one. I will never recommend this school. Scott is the nicest instructor and should be the owner of this school. I feel bad giving this rating because of him.

Can't get anyone to answer phone calls, emails to schedule driving time. Switching schools. My son will never get his license at this rate. Best instructor, Scott was terrific but he left.

Such a wonderful experience!!! John was absolutely fabulous with my middle son and now he is teaching my daughter. It has been a real pleasure working with such an honest reliable person who really cares about his students. Much better than the other company we had used for my first son, before we knew about Porter Driving School. Also John's rates are also very reasonable compared to others around...you cant go wrong here. Thank you John for everything!!!

John is the best instructor ever! I have no words to describe how nice, sweet and patient He was throughout my lessons. Not only was he a great instructor, he was also great with helping me deal with my emotional problems with taking tests. I'm very thankfulI I read all the reviews and they didn't lie one bit, everyone spoke so highly of him and they couldn't of been more correct. Don't waste your time or money looking else where, he is the perfect guy to make sure you get your license on the first try. I recommend

I got a permit on 26 December, had a first lesson with John on 31 December, took two more 2h lessons, and passed the road test on 04 January in Wilmington. Before that, I had taken maybe ten lessons back in 2006. John talks a lot, but he will tell you everything you need to know.

Highly recommend Scott as a driving instructor. He was always on time, very knowledgeable and very patient even when you commit mistakes. He never yells or raises his voice. Instead, he points out your mistakes and explains what should have been done. Today, I passed my driving test on my first attempt and I credit a large part of that to him.

I had already failed my test twice before I found Porter Driving School, but after just one lesson I started feeling confident that my next test would be my last. The training I received was easy to understand and gave me simple sure-fire ways to perform all of the maneuvers necessary to pass the road test. Suffice it to say, I passed my next test and feel like I've learned some valuable tricks like how to parallel park simply and easily. I can't speak highly enough about these guys!

I have no reason but to give Porter Driving School 5 stars! John was reliable and even very flexible with working around my schedule. I needed to pass a road test, unfortunately had no vehicle to take the test in. I explained my situation to John on the phone the same day as the road test (my fault for not being prepared), and he was more than happy to pick me up give a quick lesson and go take the road test. I passed on my first try and I would highly recommend this Driving School. The process couldn't have been any easier for me and I appreciate that.

John is a great teacher. He is patient, does not rush you and very good in explaining the nuances of driving. I did a couple of classes with him before taking the road test and he was very good. I would definitely recommend this school.
