Terrible experience. The teachers can barely speak English, it takes months to schedule the test and then they make you pay all the money only to get you on an issue with your permit the day of the test (which none of the instructors inform you of) so you have to reschedule the test and pay all the fees again. DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL.

Very unprofessional. You can pay but not book the time slot for your training lesson. Then if they decide to turn up, which they didn’t for my first lesson, you might get 45 minutes of very unstructured training. I passed my test but this school had nothing to do with it. I can wholeheartedly recommend not using this school.

My experience with Newton Driving School was fantastic. Jerry, my classroom instructor, created a fun learning environment that made my classes fly by. During the class, I learned safety, rules of the road, and great tips on the responsibility and commitment to being a great driver. Vitaly, my driving instructor helped me put the rules of the road into practice. His goal was to prepare me not only for the test, but also for life by developing and practicing safe driving habits. He also gave me tricks to remembering “gear, steer, clear,” avoiding potholes, and handling challenging obstacles faced in New England weather, such as preventing yourself from getting stuck in snow. Not only was he an amazing driving teacher, but also great at helping you meet your goals. I wanted to be ready to get my license by the spring sports season, so he worked around my busy schedule to help make that a reality. I am so grateful to Jerry and Vitaly for providing me with a top-notch education and I would definitely recommend Newton Driving School.

I'm so sorry to the instructors for giving such a harsh review; I drove with 4 different teachers and all of them did a fine job teaching parallel park, three point turn, and obeying the signs and traffic regulations. The reason why I am giving 1 star is because this school cancelled my test 2 times. I am going to an out of state college this fall and now I cannot walk around with a valid ID. The first time they cancelled my test it was excusable, but two times? My friends from Belmont and Waltam driving school had theirs as planned and never had the tests cancelled. My sister's friend had her test cancelled three times from Newton, and my mom asked other moms about this and many other kids had theirs cancelled at least once. This is inexcusable and I don't know why it's just Newton Driving School. I cannot apply to the DMV in Watertown because I would be in college by the time my test date arrives. I just don't know what to do and I feel disgusted by this kind of service. Had I known this would have happened, I would have just taken lessons here and applied at the DMV directly. Absolutely inexcusable.

School is very boring and not very well equipped. It's very easy to make driving hours and the people that run the place are nice. The person at the front desk doesn't answer the phone very often.

Jonas saved the day when my husband from the U.K. needed to schedule a road test to get his MA license- in order to start his new job, here in Boston. He was accommodating and went above and beyond by driving 2hours to sponsor my husband's driving test in a part of mass, far from where we live. He provided all the necessary guidance that was needed to break bad habits and ensure a passing test. We are both very grateful!

Well I've read the reviews and I disagree with all the negative reviews. I had the best experience with Newton Driving School. My daughter took an education program from this school only for $640. I checked all of driving schools and it's the cheapest one. Additionally they offer promotions very often so you can save a good money. The classroom stuff is wonderful. They have a very nice person named Jerry. He does a good parent class too. They have fantastic driving instructors. Everything what my daughter knows she leaned from Newton driving school. Specifically parallel parking, three point turns, driving in general, rules of the road, parking on hills, hand signals, components of the car and more. And if you are only the one person who didn't pass exam on the first try, from other hundred people who passed, don't get angry on your instructors it's just your fault and it means you need more practice. And I were surprised it so easy is in scheduling driving time. Looks they are open 24/7:) Really hard working people. That guys do a great job...

OK I used their service sometime in 2002, probably way too back. There were two teachers, the older guy was OK. The younger gal was very helpful. I passed the 2nd time though. The theory I prepared myself of course and passed the 1st time.

I took 6driving lessons and the instructor Yakir was very clear and nice and knows his job perfect. So I pass my driving test. And happy that I have chosen Newton driving school. Thanks a lot. AWFUL EXPERIENCE Find any other driving school but this one. Lets start with the positive... Jerry, their Drivers Ed teacher, is a great guy who really enjoys his job. Thank you Jerry! Now the NEGATIVE... First off, You will find that they NEVER answer their phone. Whenever I need to reach them I have to call 4-13 times until the lady at the desk finally picks up. This lady is apparently the manager, and words can't even begin to describe how rude and obnoxious she is. The system they use to schedule driving lessons is a mess! They are terribly disorganized and many issues come up. If you want to get your licence nice and quick this is not the place. It is near to impossible to schedule a lesson, let alone 12 of them! Also, they always give you a different instructor who ends up either re-teaching, or blaming you for something you have not yet learned. Trust all the negative reviews here, this place is simply awful.

At first my husband tought me driving and I failed three times at RMV driving tests. I was so lost and upset at that point and was ready to give up. Then friend of mine recommended me the Newton Driving School. I called and had very nice long conversation with Ekaterina, who listened and addressed all my concerns. I was able to book a test date within and mons and took ONE class with Ekaterina few days before. She pointed out all my little (but crucial for the test) mistakes, that my husband didn't notice, also she showed me completely new parallel parking technique, that made my life so much easier. So, I PASSED my test right away. Also, I have to tell you, after trying three different RMV locations, the route that you take at Newton's school for the test is so much easier, eliminates extra possibilities for a mistake. 100% RECOMMEND! Absolutely, under no circumstance, use this Drivers Ed. My son and his friends lost money because they ended up going to another school because it would have taken a year to get all the necessary hours. This school only lets you schedule a couple sessions at a time and they were booked out for months. On top of that, they are the rudest people I have ever met. It is like a racket. DO NOT USE.

My mom has a Russian driving license, she was very nervous about taking a road test with no English, no experience of driving in USA. She passed the test within 10 minutes. (Disclaimer: I let my license expire after several years, and only needed a one-hour refresher road lesson before taking the actual road test.) I paid my fees, up front. These were processed immediately and accurately. NADS requested necessary information about my permit, and processed this accordingly. The driving Instructor was waiting for me, at the assigned time and location. He was quite sharp and technical with his criticisms of my performance; but as he pointed out, RMV Examiners fail test-takers for what others might consider to be minor infractions. I took him seriously. The next day, I passed my road test; the teenagers before me, did not. My only complaint is that, the NADS Instructor is a smoker, and was smoking a cigarette - outside the car - just before I took the wheel. Sitting next to me, he smelled like smoke.

Cancelled my test less than a week !!! before test date and offered me to wait a month for the next test. Upd: the second test was also cancelled. Awful service. I had to leave Boston in the end of the summer and couldn't wait any more for the next test. The lesson I took in this school was useless since I cannot take the exam here

They are scam . When you call them they never pick up phone also they told us the exam at 1pm but it was 11am . My girlfriend couldn't pass also they blamed at us . They suppose to close this school .

I signed up for 6 classes before taking my road test and each class was easy to schedule, the instructors were always on time, patient and encouraging. Overall I had a great experience and passed my road test with no problems.

Definitely recommend this school. Passed road test the first time. For more confidence bought 2 practice hours and have no regrets about additional $50 spent. Without practice I wouldn't have passed exam. Both instructors Yakir and Vitaly were professional and friendly, answered all my questions about driving in the US, highlighted me what to do and NOT to do on the test. Test itself has been scheduled in 2.5 weeks, was moved from Saturday to Sunday (actually this was OK with me since Saturday became busy after I scheduled the test), so I see no issues with this. I'm really surprised by negative comments "they have scheduled the test for me without my permission" - this is what NDS declares on their site: they will schedule weekend test for you and it will replace any other test you scheduled by yourself.

DO NOT USE THIS DRIVING SCHOOL!!!!! They don't have enough cars or instructors and they only let you schedule up to 3 driving lessons at a time which are months and months out. It takes 5 months to get through all the driving and observation lessons and they are NOT accommodating.

It isn't open when they say it will be open. They never respond to voicemails. Many of the driving instructors are rude. It costs a lot of money to cancel a lesson less than 48 hours in advance. One of the older cars even has brake problems. Not sure when/if that’s gonna get fixed...
