I never do reviews so when I say I highly recommend Ethio Star Driving School I do. My first experience was with Ms. Felicia, taking a basic driving class. She was very pleasant and welcoming. She made me feel really comfortable as I drove in DC rush hour. MY most recent experience was with the owner, for my road test. He was very knowledgeable and again gave the the confidence i needed to take the test. He also gave me tips on things i should or shouldn't do behind the wheel. At the end of it all they both were very professional and i passed my road test the first try.

I took my road test with Ethios back in September and I failed.The reason was I didnt know the difference between TWO WAY and ALL WAY stop signs.I am not blaming my examnier for failing me but the driving school I was training. The examiner was taking time to explain me the difference between the stop signs.He was so polite and I heared he was a good instructor before he was an examnier. I am planning to take the test with them again. Thank you Mr. Eyob for taking your time and explain for me. Ethios is a highly recommend driving school for your road test.

I took a four hours refreshment lesson with Ethio Star.My experience was good. The instructors are always on time and explain well about the traffic rules and regulations. If you want to improve your driving skill,my recommendation is Ethio Star Driving School. Their metro station based pick up location will make you easily accessible from any direction. Finding this school on a web search was the best choice. Stefan was an amazing instructor, the kind I can be friends outside of being a driving instructor. I was given lessons on the highway and other types of narrow roads that require a lot of attention. I was late for the road test and Eyob was able to make late time arrangements with the DMV for my road test on a busy Friday and everything worked just fine. I would highly recommend this school for anyone in need of driving lessons, I passed my test in a blink of an eye because Stefan had thought me all the rules and strategies to succeed on the day of the test. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I left a message and got a response soon after! ( PS: This event occured late in the evening) Eyob, ( the instructor) was understanding and flexible enough and fixed that matter in a timely manner. Second of all; they are very professional and put you at ease. I received great driving skills tips!! I took my road test with Ethio Star last month and I failed for the first time.It was a very disappointing time for me. I went directly home and think about what I did.He gave me a couple of comments at the time.one think which I don’t deny was the professionality of the examiner.He took his time to explain the mistake that I did and gave me a general advice for my next test.I decided to take a couple of training and took the road test with this school again.I met the same examiner,Mr.Tadesse, and passed my test with a great score...except fail to check my blind spot at one point. Now I am thankful for this driving school...you know why? They gave me a life time comment to make me a safe driver!!! Thank you so very much for your service.I really appreciate it.

I just want to say that when it comes to this driving school I recommend Stephen. He helped me understand the basics of driving , he was nice and I was comfortable with him instructing me. I did not have a good experience with the driving instructor Felicia , so I made that known to Eyob. I did not like when the instructor would turn the wheel from me, yell or raise her voice at me or say unnesscary comments. That I found rude . I am not speaking for anyone else just to make that clear , I am speaking from my personal experience. Eyob said he would handle the situation so I was alright and still wanted to continue lessons with the company but I wanted Stephen as my instructor since he was the first instructor I met before Felicia and since I felt more comfortable with him. After thinking that the issue with the second instructor and I would be resolved by Eyob , I received a screenshot from him of where I had posted a one star review of the company and someone’s comment underneath speaking highly of the instructor I just had a run in with. I thought it was very disrespectful of him to have sent me a screenshot of this to my cell phone! I called to ask him why did he send me that and he said he sent it yesterday not today , but the fact remains that it was unprofessional so I wanted refund. Because that was not necessary. This was my experience, everyone may have different experiences but this was mines. Take the advice cautiously.

We all know how tough it is to obtain a D.C drivers license.I recently got my driver's from the DMV and passed with flying colors. I personally have to thank the trainers from Ethio Star Driving school. My trainer's name was Terry and i drove max 2 hours with him before I felt confident to take the test. It may vary with different age groups (with me being 21) and skill level. However I would personally suggest Ethio Driving school if you want to be a great driver.

I just warning you anybody that just want past the driving test with this school but you have not taking clases with this school you will not pass the test they just look the minimal error you do ..... For example if you touch the line you will not pass even if you know how you can drive this is ridiculous because you just pay the rent of the car they make you to pay more money in my experience I drive for 28 year's and try to have my license .... Anybody just be careful because they cannot even let you enter at their office they just do everything by phone or website ......guy look for a company that let enter in their office at least ..... Look all the names at the comments and make your decision.

I drove 2 hours a week with Koffi in preparation for my driving test. I made sure to practice around Rhode Island Ave Metro Station in order to be close to the testing site. I used to be so scared to drive but I developed confidence and helpful techniques to be a safe driver. I even got to drive on the highway, which I will be doing a lot to get to work. I felt so confident I was able to practice at home with my partner. I scheduled a test drive Eyob before I took my test with a different driving school. He took me around the route several times. I took my test this morning and I am so happy to say I passed! Thank you so much Ethio Star for helping me with this process. This is going to open up new employment opportunities for me.

I can’t say enough great things about Ethio star driving school. I was recommended to this school by a friend who saw me struggling to find a great school that has safe cars and great teachers. Starting from the first call I made to ask for information about the school, price and their schedules I was provided with the information I wanted quickly and thoroughly. I was then given the opportunity to further go through their website to choose a schedule that I see fit and book for training online. That saved me a lot of time. My instructor (Eyob Mersha) has superb technical skills with kind, enduring and cheerful personality that helped calm my nerves and pass my exams with flying colors. He gave me several tips that help turn me into a great driver. The car he used to train me is new and easy to maneuver unlike any of the other driving schools which I have tried out. My instructor, Elias was very professional and patient with me, even when I made erratic errors during my first few lessons. I especially recommend getting lessons here because they go over the route which you will travel for the road test. To be honest i would not recommend Elias as a driving instructor. My kid has lessons with him and its honestly a waste of money. Elias complains, he's impatient, he acts as though he's teaching someone who has years of experience when this is a first time learner. As a professional instructor he needs to get his act together or find another profession. Here are some tips: Give advice and teach the drving techniques. Stop sitting there not teaching and then grabbing the wheel and getting angry when something goes wrong. Give helpful pointers beforehand instead of waiting for my kid to mess up and then snapping. Stop telling new learners "you should know this!!" When you never instructed on how to carry out the technique before. Im so frustrated. The website says this school is great with new learners. What a disappointment Elias has been. It's a pity he's the only instructor available in the week. Maybe this school is better for students who have a bit of experience but just need to learn the route for the exam. I wouldn't recommend it for someone who really needs help becoming a good driver.

They are always on time for pick up, many options from many metro stops convenient for Downtown DC , Dupont circle and Georgetown area. Eyob has great customer service qualities , he is available to answer any questions at anytime. And also considerate to customers where there is an error of scheduling. I was very much impressed with qualities of this driving school. I would definitely recommend to use them.

Update: I put a poor rating on this school at first because I was upset I didn’t pass after thinking I was doing everything right. I took his advice and got lessons and I was wrong I definitely needed those lessons to become a better driver. I learned so much , Now I think I can pass my test next time with the practice I got I honestly think I did a good job I’m not a expert driver I’m a new safe driver. The instructor Eyob was so pushy and he didn’t even give me a chance it’s like he doubted me before I even moved the car. They just want you to pay for lessons that you don’t need. DO NOT GO TO THIS DRIVING SCHOOL!! Waste of time and money

I had failed the road test before so I was extremely worried about driving again. Thanks to Stephane I am more confident in my driving skills and I enjoy it. I met the owner in-person the day of my exam, and I can say that he is also a very nice person. I took the exam on a rainy day, and I was worried about turning on the windshield wipers or the defroster. But he made sure the car was fully-functional by the time I had to get on the road.
