I want to thank all the employees from the office staff to the instructors at apex for one of the best experiences I have ever been through. From the first day to the final exam it was a very educational program.the instructors couldn't have been any more patient with the students and took the time to fine tune every student in my class .Not to mention they provided many job placement opportunities after completion of the course.I highly recommend this program if you have any desire to get your CDL .I have no regrets what so ever .

I was so tired and lost of what I did just few weeks ago until friend of mine told me about Apex CDL Institute, he finished with Apex training almost three years ago and he was just just like what I feel few week ago, he is making great income right now and he told me that he got good job offer before he done with Apex but I wasn't believe him, yes, he is right that I got jobs offer before halfway of training, going to start my new job with great pay very soon, remember that when I was at my interview and I told them that I was still in training at Apex, guess what? No more questions asked and hire me on spot. I greatly appreciate all Apex instructors, they all are working so hard for their students, they make sure we understand everything they teach and understand all the questions that we asked. Only one big mistake that I made is that I should have know Apex long time ago if so my life will be ways stable than now. For those who are thinking about CDL don't waste your time like me before, start your new life like me and friends, trust Apex strictly CDL training they will ensure you become a great and safe commercial driver, for people like me English is not my native language if I can do it, you sure can do better than me. When you research APEX, you will find that this company won the "Best of the Best" award for 2017. I just graduated from there and love this company! I can see how they won this award! There are great trainers, all the staff is warm, funny and fun to be around. Jeff, the owner, is as professional as it gets. He will answer any questions you have, going above and beyond! For those seeking to get on the road and a paycheck ASAP after graduation, there are large trucking companies that visit APEX and offer positions for new drivers. Works for me!! I have 3 job offers myself! And since there is a shortage of truck drivers, perfect timing to get a CLASS A CDL!!

The facility in De Soto is very nice. The staff is great and very helpful. The instructors there are very knowledgeable and have been driving for many years. I haven't been through the program yet for varying reasons but every time I have been to Apex has been a pleasure. Very good people that work hard to take care of every student!

If you’re interested in getting your CDL and are willing to put forth your full effort for 4 weeks, this is the school for you. 4 weeks might seem short, but the professional instructors teach you in a way that makes it stick in your mind. I started this school having never been behind the wheel of a tractor trailer. And I’m happy to say I passed my test today and got my CDL. All the instructors are great and offer their years of experience to teach each student. The owner Jeff is very friendly and professional. He is more than willing to answer any questions you might have. I highly recommend this school to anyone who wants their CDL fast while learning great techniques and becoming a great, safe driver. Excellent truck driving school all the way from their instructors to the management . Was taught all the skills needed to pass my c.d.l exam including the pre-trip inspection, backing maneuvers and road skills. If you're interested in becoming a driver in the trucking industry and willing to make the commitment to learning what the instructors will teach you, then this institute is the place for you. Maybe Next Year

I had a great time at the school, And I learned a lot. A couple weeks ago, I was having trouble landing a job. I did not realize how much the school can help with this. It is not an exaggeration: After letting Jeff know I was having some trouble or maybe not looking in the right places for me, I had an interview set up, as well as an orientation in A DAY. I am now full time employed with a trucking company. Schools/businesses no where that I have witnessed have followed through like this. Thank you Jeff, and thank you Apex.

I just graduated this week. We were told at the beginning, if we gave 100% to learning, they would give 100% to us. They kept their word. The instructors were demanding, which was good; exactly what I needed. I struggled with some things but they did everything possible to help me succeed. I'm headed to orientation with my new employer next week and looking forward to a new career. This place is great! Worth every penny and every day I spent there!

Had fun with the program, it was very fast but thorough. I felt like the program had great balance between teaching you and allowing you to show your skills. Pretrip is up to the student to learn if put in the work study during down time and take the program seriously you will successfully complete the program. I just earned my CDL form this school. If you plan on going here I want you to know that you have to be highly motivated and highly dedicated. Give 110% to this school because everyone who works here is giving you that and more. In my first sentence you see that I said I earned it, because I did. They will not give this to you. I have worked with over 100 CDL Programs in the country for the last 10 years and Apex is definitely at the top of the list. The staff here and truly great to work with. This school is the best from the top down Jeff knows the truck's and the business and the big companies that like to hire his students matt set you up to get your cdl and Lerner permit and all the stuff you need to get it done Sergio is a rare fine he will teach you everything you need to do a pretrip inspection straight line backing and off set backing Ricky will teach you everything you need to parallel parking offset and blind side and alley dock backing James is the driving instructor he will teach you how to change gears or double clutch he is brave enough to sit in the chair and teach you everything you need to know about driving a big truck I did not know anything about big truck's I received my class a cdl license in four weeks the school is worth every penny plus I have three different job offers and I just graduated yesterday this is the first time I have ever gave a review thanks to all of you one grateful student

This program is not for the faint of heart. Just like it's described in Apex adds, this is a truck driving school. It requires both dedication and hard work. Classes are always forming of a student ratio of 8:1 which is incredible. Smaller class sizes means more hands on learning. And that's exactly what is done at Apex. The instructors want to see you suceed and pour their souls out to make sure that is done. They are all real world guys with real world experience! My hats off to their teaching style and dedication to helping students suceed! From office staff, classroom staff, and driving instructors everyone is more than friendly and willing to lend a helping hand! A+ Apex! I attended school from November 27th with a graduation date of December 22nd. After getting behind the wheel I realized the scope of what I would be doing day in and day out and realized the trucking life was not for me. As far as classes go, they were top notch! Knowledgeable instructors and great teachers. They outline everything you will need to get your permit and help you study for the test. After deciding it wasn't for me, I received my refund for the amount stated in the paperwork, in the timeframe that was promised. Matt and the staff are complete professionals. They know what they are doing and I saw first hand how much they cared about the students. If I wanted to go back, I definitely would choose Apex!

Apex is a top notch school in all areas of CDL training. I have been a recruiter for 18yrs and not a finer owner and staff anywhere. I would recommend this school to any student interested in obtaining their CDL. Jeff or Matt will be there to answer any questions a student may have.

Apex was the most amazing school .The absolute BEST... They actually care about you and your needs. I was accepted to a C-1 school first but I am soooooo glad I did some research and chose Apex. The instructors were wonderful, they made learning fun and easy modifying their techniques as necessary for each individual student for their specific needs and learning style. At graduation you have choices and their job placement is so good that I had pre- hire offers from 6 different companies before I even graduated. Companies that actually pay well and do tuition reimbursement so the school is actually free. I graduated on Friday and I start with Roehl Transportation on Mon. with great pay and benefits they are even paying back my entire tuition.. The C-1 schools say they are free but they lock you in to a specific low paying company with no home time for the first year and they take money out of your checks to pay back for the "free" school .Apex also has LIFETIME placement so if your job is not a good fit for you or something unforeseeable comes up they have your back and will get you another even better job. If you want to get into this field as a career there is no place else to go.

If you are truly looking to get started in the trucking industry this is the place! I did alot of research prior to choosing Apex, and I'm glad I did! You will be instructed by people who have years of actual driving experience and they will show you in just 4 short weeks the skill you need to receive your class A CDL license. Which is no easy task. If you come in and dedicate yourself 100%, then in 4 weeks you too will have your CDL. It was one of the hardest things I've done in a 4 week period, but before I even graduated I had 2 job offers for more money then I have ever made. From the initial meeting with Matt and Molly to my 4 weeks of training it was professional and they did all the work I just had to show up every day prepared to listen and apply what they told me! Ty again everyone at Apex CDL Institute, you have improved mine and my families life forever! Class of July 2018!!!

Like all the other comments. You get what you put into it. Yes you are there for 10 hours a day but you still have to go home and study. I look at myself 4 weeks ago and it is crazy how much I have learned. You can sit there on your phone, snacking, making excuses, complaining about the weather and missing a day. Or you can sit there, listen and watch others, build muscle memory and make notes. I wasn't the best but I kept on and on and passed the first time. I got to give a huge Special Thanks to Matt, Jeff, Lil Sergio and most of all Ricky. I bumped heads with Ricky the first day. But I tell you what I think if it wasn't for him I wouldn't have learned what I know. I owe Ricky a Big Thank you.

I had a positive learning experience from financing tuition through graduating with my CDL. I retired from military service while attending Apex. Truck driving is a career transition for me and I did not have experience in the trucking industry. Apex created a comfortable environment conducive to learning. The professionals at Apex kept things on a first name basis while maintaining control of safety. The instructors were all subject matter experts who set us up for success by teaching one step at a time and guiding us through training iterations. We had small classes which maximized practice time and instructor interaction. The course was short and well structured to efficiently utilize the time spent getting licensed. Apex starts a class every week, so I didn't have to wait 5-6 weeks to begin training. If you are willing to apply yourself to get into a profitable career Apex CDL Institute is the school I recommend. I heard they were planning to open a branch closer to Ft Riley. Thank you APEX staff and faculty for a great experience and a new career.

This is the best school in the Midwest hands down! From the time you walk in the front door its people who are committed to teaching you how to drive and obtain your CDL. Matt the recruiter is great! He is very knowledgeable about the school. They mean what they say! I was able to get financing to go to the school. The instructors know what they are doing and know how to teach! This is not a one truck school!

I would gladly pay double, what APEX charges, for what APEX provides. Matt and company are dedicated to highly training truckers. I know this. B/c, I haven't been able to afford to enroll. Still, Matt has counseled with me several times. I hope they stay independent from the big carriers.

I have had the same career for 21 years. Due to an injury away from work I had to retire. I have a lot of skills but none that I can make a decent living at. I attended Apex driving school for a career change. I first visited the school after reading a past review. The school is set up very professionally and has an environment that is very conducive for learning. The 1st week we were in a classroom to learn the DMV manual so that we could get a learners permit. Rick did a great job teaching and was able to teach all 5 of us to pass the state test. Yes that's right a student to teacher ratio of 5:1 pretty amazing compared to a lot of other schools. After completing the state requirements for the permit we started in the yard. The yard instructor Mike wrote a logical way of understanding how to steer the trailer into the hole. All 5 of us after a week in the yard were able to efficiently complete all the backing maneuvers and exterior pre-trip that will be required by the state DMV. In the 3rd week we broke into 2 groups for road driving we had a ratio of students to instructors of 3:1 yep don't see ratios that good hardly anywhere. The road course instructors Matt and Ryan have the patience of Jobe. They took us up and down rural roads 1st but by the end of the week we were driving in town in metro KC safely. These were not the smallest truck available to pass a test. They were 10 speed manual, tandem axle trucks with sleepers and 48' box trailers. Very similar to what you will be expected to drive in the real world. During the school we were visited by numerous major trucking recruiters. Most of my classmates and myself were pretty much hired contingent of completing all the requirements at the DMV and obtaining our CDL. You will not become a Professional truck driver in the 3 week school but you will learn all the necessary tools to obtain a CDL and become a Professional Truck Driver. If I can pass on 1 piece of advice to any prospective students it would be. Go into this with the intent of learning. This is adult education and no one should have to hold your hand. Listen to the instructors. I think between all of them they have about 200 yrs driving experience and a few million miles.

My name is Tina aka AfroPuff or Poof, depending on who you ask. My experience at this school was nothing short of amazing. Matt, Jeff, Terry, Sergio, Ricky, Mick, and my classmates were the best support system I could have ever asked for. I went in knowing nothing at all and as the weeks went on I developed a better sense how strong I really am. From getting my permit, to bringing a pillow just to sit in the truck correctly, to my difficulty downshifting, to overcoming all of that and passing my exam on the first try. You don't realize how much drive you have until you're outside in 102 degree weather getting in and out of trucks with no AC and waking up the next morning with either sunburn or 10 shades darker but you wont stop until you have that CDL! I would like to thank everyone at APEX for all their patience, help, and encouragement during my time there. You all will be seeing me very soon with my truck! **DISCLAIMER: this school is there to help you, but if you're not willing to put in the effort and commitment then if you fail it's not on them. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make em drink it.**

You get what you pay for. I went from never even sitting behind the wheel of a semi to driving for a living and making a substantially better income in a matter of 1 month! I began school in early December of 2014 and passed my CDL test by the end of the month. THE DAY I passed my CDL test I was on the phone setting up travel arrangements to begin working for an outstanding company. The guys at Apex are the real deal and have been there and done that. They will help you if you're willing to put in the effort. I HIGHLY recommend Apex as the results in my own life speak for themselves. Give Matt or Jeff a call. I am writing this review because I used the positive reviews to select this school. This school did exactly as they said they would do. The instructors taught me the basic skills I needed to pass my CDL test. I had my struggles but the staff worked together to fine tune my skills and I was able to pass the test. I was able to take the test in the truck I learned to drive in. This is big! Every truck is different and I felt very comfortable in this truck. The instructors really care that you pass and will be a safe driver. Well worth the investment. I highly endorse this school! I am interviewing today with the company that I targeted from day one. Lousy attempt at being a class act. Guy up front , Matt, wasted 3 weeks of my time. I disclosed some felony issues the very first time I contacted him . they were discussed several times over the phone after that. I obtained a prehire letter and tuition reimbursement all on my own then he says come on up( 200 miles) and fill out app. and check out school, well , not impressed with rundown look of school, out in the middle of nowhere, no affordable housing available ($185 weekly) then tells me approval should be no problem and takes a day or two, a week goes by so I finally call him to be told the director denied it . . I dont think he even submitted it due to incompetence or just lazy. I'm sure the school is a competent facility but the guy up front sure makes them look bad.if he'd just follow up on calls and be honest with people it would be OK. Your useless Matt, thanks for nothing.

I highly recommend Apex CDL Institute to anyone thinking of getting his or her CDL-A. The instructors and staff know exactly what to teach you to successfully pass the CDL exams. If you listen to what they teach and apply yourself, you WILL pass. The yard maneuver instructors, Sergio and Ricky, and the road instructors, Rob and Mick are very knowledgeable and patient. It can be a bit stressful, but they will get you the skills you need. The front office staff makes sure that you get all of your paperwork in order. The big advantage of Apex is that they have licensed CDL examiners on staff. You will take your test in the equipment you have been learning on, right at the facility. No need to go to a CDL testing station. Your grades will be entered immediately online so that you can go straight to the DMV and get your permanent CDL. The learning comes at you at a fast pace, but they will teach the driving and backing skills needed to pass...all you have to do is apply yourself to memorizing the pre-trip and inspection procedures (forms A/B/C). A+ all around!
