I was unable to take the complete program due to my work commitments. I did do a one day 1 on 1 for 8 hours to learn how to do all the test required. The fella ( sorry. I forgot his name) I had was very nice and patient. He informed me of visual references to help get the rig where it needed to be. He drove then I drove the final drive course, giving information on things to know so I didn't fail. I did my test, with Allen being the tester. He was great! His personality is so laid back, I was so nervous, but his personality helped me keep my nerves in check. He does not make a person feel uncomfortable while being professional in his job. I would suggest to take the complete course to get much more time driving than I did. You will also get more time to learn everything needed in a more comfortable pace instead of how I did it. The staff I delt with was great. I would suggest this CDL program to anyone who wants to get their CDL.

Absolute incompetence. Once they cancelled my appointment because the route for driving was changed, and I was never contacted for a reschedule. Took a week of leaving messages before I got a response. Then, I waited 6 weeks on my next date, and was never informed that there was a policy change requiring prepayment. So I lost that time slot with zero notification. Months wasted. Go somewhere else

Pre-trip inspection, 3 point break check, backup maneuvers, and basic driving skills to complete the driving course are all you need to learn to pass the CDL A test, that's it. 1st two weeks of "classroom work", M-F 8am-4:30pm is utterly useless time filler where they make the lion's share of their profit. Then hopefully it doesn't take them 2 weeks to get your 1st drive in after "class". They stretch a program that's easily learned in 3 weeks out to 6-8 weeks and use "accredited" as justification for wasting 3-4 weeks of your time.

Would appreciate Indianapolis if I could drive a dump truck locally!

This review is for cdl testing at this facility. I arrived for my test in a company truck with temporary plates. I was told that I could not test in a truck with temp tags so I rescheduled my test for first available which was two weeks later. After some research, I learned that there was no reason to not test me with temporary plates. While waiting for my rescheduled test my appointment was moved twice. Once back, then forward. I finally was able to take my test but I did not pass(completely my fault). After failing, I called to reschedule but reached voice mail four times in the next two weeks. I left my name, number, and reason for calling each time. I never received a return call. Finally, I borrowed a friend's phone and called a fifth time. This time i was able to speak to scheduling and asked "When is your next available cdl test opening?". Her answer was " I don't know, I have to move some people around.". I was then asked for my name and number so that she could return my call. I scheduled my retest at another facility and took/passed the test within a four day period. I strongly advise that all interested people avoid the unprofessional and unorganized disaster that is Sage Ivy Tech. Best luck, Steve

EVERYONE at Sage (in Muncie) is GREAT!! Those guys took someone (me) with ABSOLUTELY NO truck driving skills to getting a CDL-A in 2 weeks. They really went out of their way to help. Tim your instruction is AMAZING, big Ron, Scott, Ron & Rick....YOU ARE ALL PROFESSIONALS. THANKS.

Paid $1300 for the 8 hour one on one class. This consisted of access to a 20 minute YouTube video on the pretrip, a 12 page handout to memorize on the pretrip, in cab & air brake check. During the 8 hour class I drove the test course twice. I also worked on the test course on straight backing, off set backing & parallel parking. I used my own truck (KW W900), and the instructor had to have my husband come on the course to parallel park the truck, so we could find "reference points." Took the test next day in a monsoon of a rainstorm & flunked (completely my fault because I omitted the entire 5th wheel in the pretrip.) Tested again a month later, & passed everything up to the road trip. Getting ready to leave the lot I'm told to go the opposite way as was done in the class due to a bridge being out. While trying to avoid crossing the double yellow line (which I was told was automatic failure) I got the curb coming out of the lot with trailer. Flunked again. Even though this was a non scoring turn that they had to get permission from the state to even use because it was so tight. Tested again a month later and the tester did not measure my truck for the parallel parking as had been done before. The tests are usually taken with the schools own day cab trucks which are much shorter. So I flunked again. $1600 & an expired permit later I still don't have a cdl. You decide if this is the school for you, but I was not pleased. Did I mention that I've been driving otr every day with my husband for a year?
