My daughter participated in the classroom sessions and driver training and loved it. She said the teacher was able to keep the attention of all the students and made the class fun and interactive. She was especially impressed with her driving instructor, Donnie. She said he really made her feel at ease and comfortable. My son went to Barber’s driving school last January for the 30 hour class and just did a 6 hour on road driving lesson this February. Class instructors were excellent. Driving instructor Mr Keith was excellent. Mr Keith was always on time during the appointed hours for the driving lessons. After the 6 hour driving lessons(2 hours each day X 3 days), my son felt comfortable and more confident driving in our car. My son now drives every weekend, and when I pick him up from school. Thumbs up for every one at Barber’s driving school!!!!!

If I could give Barbers 10 stars, I would! They taught me everything I need to know and then some. Mr. Eric was the best! He was very attentive, always kept me on track. I never thought I could ever weave through cones but I did just that, thanks to Eric! I was very nervous about my road test but after everything that Eric and the class sessions taught me, I wasn't nervous anymore and I actually started to like driving. I even made a 100% on my road test! My cousins and brothers all went to Barbers and I would recommend it to everybody!

AWESOME!!! I was 25 when i first got driving lessons at first i felt bad being older in age then the rest of my class, but my driving instructor ( Kieth )was very supportive and understanding i felt no pressure or hesitation on the road. Over all great teaching.

My son took the 30 hour driving class and the 6 hour driving road course offered by Barber's. It was an excellent experience and Barber's is top notch. The class instructor was awesome and the driving instructor, Gary, was unbelievable. I felt very comfortable with Gary and he went out of his way to accommodate our busy schedules. He and my son had a lot in common and got along great. My son really looked forward to his driving time with Gary. I would highly recommend Barber's to anyone. Fantastic experience for driver's ed and defensive driving. Classes were very useful for my son, the behind the wheel sessions were tailored too meet his needs. Very nice cars, serviced us in Alabama at no extra charge. Prompt, helpful, courteous service. Behind the wheel scheduling was flexible and customized to our availability. This course also saves us several hundred dollars a year on our insurance!

Mr.Ryan was my driver instructor for 6 hours and he was great! He believed in only using positive reinforcement and if I made a mistake he made sure to go over what I did and what to do next time. If I messed up parking he made sure to do it again so I learn from my mistakes. Mr.Ryan made sure that I knew what to do and helped me improve my driving skills and I learned so much from the 6 hours!

My daughter took Barber's classroom in the summer time. She had a great experience. Every night she would come home and tell me about new traffic laws or something things I had forgotten. Her driving instructor was Keith. I was a little worried about her getting in the car with a strange man, especially since it was private driving lessons. He picked her up from home and from school for the lessons. After meeting him and talking with her, we couldn't of been happier. Keith was professional and very communicable when it came to relyaing how her driving was. Barber's is well worth the money and time, as I feel this will help her to have a safe and long success record on the road. She has been driving for 10 months now with no accident or tickets! YIPEE.

Terrible service. My mom had a driver's test on 8/30. The person administering the tests wanted me to fill out all the assessments on her. I told him "No, I am sure that is what she is paying you for." He said she shouldn't be driving. After not hearing anything towards the end of September, I called to inquire about hearing something about her license. He said he didn't finish the paperwork yet. So on September 26, he said he was going by my mom's house at Noon. I get there at 11:30 and he has already been there and gone. Very unprofessional and I do not recommend using this company.

My instructor, Mr. Keith, was extremely knowledgeable, patient, relatable, and very, very calming. He was perfect. My daughter loved the 30 hour classroom. The teacher was very informative and was very educated. However, My daughter was not satisfied with her driving instructor. I believe his name was Austin..She felt as if he was very obnoxious and distracting while learning to drive. She told me he continuously talked and would not let her focus on driving. She also felt as if he rushed her through things...Other than that the experience was worth it!!!

My son went through the 30 hour class followed by the 6 hour driving instruction with Eric. We highly recommend Eric for the solo driving instruction. He was prompt, thorough with explanations, and even helped my son negotiate some turns and stops with which he had previously experienced trouble. My son's confidence is high now when it comes to driving, even to the point of saying he likes to try to get into parking spaces now as a fun challenge when before he was always unsure. Eric was also sure to go over parallel parking and made sure that my son did well and knew what to do. Great job, Eric! Thank you for teaching him!!

Both of my sons enjoyed their time with barber's. My oldest son can actually parallel park faster than me. Keith was great. I think Kevin also drove with my son. My youngest son was very comfortable driving with Chris. He doesn't like driving with me. I recommend this place for teen drivers!

One of the best driving school in the Alabama area, they are good at teaching for the first time drivers to senior drivers and they have many programs, they helped me to take written test to practice drive test and scheduling with DPS Alabama for the final drive test. I took my first Barber's education course and behind the wheel training when I was 16. Later, I strayed for additional behind the wheel hours at the Columbus Tech driving school simply because it was cheaper. This was my first mistake. After spending 2 hours with Mr. Barber, I mastered two difficult driving techniques (parallel parking and right side backing) and passed my driving test! Driving is a critical skill that must be mastered. So many people do not learn to drive correctly and as a result, accidents occur. I'm so glad I came back to Barber's!!! If you're looking for a quality driving school, please do not hesitate to sign up!

This is the best driving school! Mr. Barber came to pick up my son on a Sunday and took him out on the road. He came to the house and picked him up. Keith trained my Son and we requested him for my daughter. I have nothing but praise for both Keith, his professionalism and competence as well as the school itself. And I know these days, it's required for the kids to do this training with a professional school. But Barbers could have made this so much harder or could have made it just a rudimentary activity. They didn't and never have. They take it seriously and they make it so easy to.work with them.

Barbers driving school has been wonderful. Triston (my son) had nothing but good things to say about his driving instructor (Ryan.) They made accommodations for him during Muscogee County’s holiday break, so he didn’t miss any school. Which consisted of the 4 classroom days 9am to 5:30 (Thursday through Sunday.) And, 6 hours of behind the wheel driving. All 6 hours were done in 1 day! And, Ryan volunteered for New Years Day, so Triston could test yesterday (last day of their school break.) Best in Columbus! I went to Barber's in the 80's and now my son has completed his driver's ed there too. The classroom instruction was thorough and even though they were very full, long days, my son said it kept his attention the whole time. He's also been kind enough to remind me of a few things while I'm driving now! The behind the wheel made him very confident to go take his road test and his instructor Donnie was super nice, funny, professional and confident! I wouldn't trust my teenage driver to anyone else than Barber's

The behind the wheel instruction is very detailed. The instructor takes the student all around town practicing things like highway merging and parallel parking. But they also do and discuss local situations like turning left downtown through a red light across Broadway. It's very relevant and it fine tunes your skills.

So I had Erick as my driving instructor and he did a great job at explaining to me on what to do. And he made driving fun! At first he had to keep hitting the brake on his side because I put my hand through the wheel when I turned it , but I stopped doing that after the third time he hit the brake. As a parent, I am so appreciative of this opportunity for my daughter. I did not feel comfortable with her learning to drive on these large roads and interstate here in Columbus, I wanted her to have formal instruction founded on a solid and professional driving/instructing background. We found all of this at Barber's. My daughter was in a safe environment and learned the 'correct way' to drive; our laws and regulations, complete with instruction on oil and tire changing plus basic mechanics. I am confident now that my baby is good to go and can handle the many situations that can arise behind the wheel, namely other drivers who exercise their own version of skill seemingly not based on any written law. I had a great experience with the Barbers driving course, Mr. Eric taught me everything in needed to know using the parking lot, and various roads. I learned the whole driving test, and practiced it several times over. We met at times that were the most convienient for both of us, and he picks you up from wherever as long as it isn't to far away. He does a great job keeping you on the right track speed and direction wise. He helped me improve the areas that I was weak on. I also learned how to maintain speed, stay centered, secondary stop, parallel park, t corner park, back up straight, get within six inches of cones and cars, properly make a left turn and right turn, and weave through cones. He and Mr. Keith both have a great since of humor, and offer you gum to help you remember what was taught, and as a gesture of kindness. The instructors have a brake on their side, and ensure that you will not hit anything, and they can expertly drive from the passengers side if need be.
