I don't understand the negative comments. I have been bringing my youngest daughter here for 14 years. I also brought my older daughter here when she was young (she is now 26). I have never had a bad experience. I had to call many times over the years to get a sick visit and they always saw us on the same day. My oldest daughter developed cellulitis in her foot and the doctor there at the time immediately recognized it as serious and sent us to Augusta hospital where she spent 4 days before ultimately having surgery. Her doctor from Valley Pediatrics checked on her constantly and even called us at home to check on her during her recovery. My experiences have been with Dr. Mumbauer and Dr. Fern. They have been amazing and I am grateful for them. Dr. Fern even prayed with us in the office once over a medical situation with my youngest daughter..who does that?!! A great doctor, that's who!! Thank you Valley Pediatrics for all you have done for my family!

We love, love, love our primary doctor and have had great experiences with the other doctors we’ve worked with for an illness or a quick question. The staff is always super supportive and our kiddo loves going to the doctor!

I've been with Valley Pediatrics for eight years now and I wouldn't take my children anywhere else! Dr. DeVries is the primary doctor for two of my children and Dr. Fern is the primary doctor for my teen. They are incredible. My kids actually like going to the doctor because they enjoy who they get to see! They listen to my concerns, they joke with my kids, and they make us all feel comfortable and valued. They have become a part of my family and I hope my kids are all grown before they go anywhere!

I'll begin by saying I love the doctors at Valley Peds and have had pretty good service until recently. I do feel they are more concerned about money then their patients! They dismissed us over $68.00 and a couple of payments "that were not made on time" but were paid! I have been going there for 15 yrs and I had my full trust in Dr. Mumbauer because I don't know if my oldest daughter would be here today if it was not for him. Very disappointing that now I have to find another practice because of small money issues! And have children that are very upset to have to go somewhere else and see doctors they don't know at all!! After working in a doctor office for many years we have always put our patients and their health above anything else!!

The doctors are great. Clerical staff are unfriendly. Oh, and "NO DRINKS ALLOWED!" ...this includes water.

My son sees Dr. Devries. He is awesome! I had some major concerns about some issues my son was having.. he left no stone unturned. And was very prompt with getting back to me about some lab work. He definitely knows his stuff and I felt like he truly cared. Hands down best doctor we’ve seen!

I love the doctors there! My daughter sees dr fern...she got sick at 2 weeks of age and we seen dr Robertson who later on called my cell to personally check on her. I’ve never had a doctor do that before!

Horrible work environment, you have to be a person that likes to kiss the managers tail and tattle tail on co-workers..Everyone that talks bad about the job and the person behind the desk only to go back and tell that person behind the desk what everyone says except themselves. When I first stated working at Valley Ped's i was warned that once the manager found out who i was going to lunch with she would be questioning me about what we talked about little did i know that lady that told me that would be the spy that lead to my fate. I was laid off due to he said she said I had a target on my back ever since i refused to turn on a co-worker when asked by the manager what happened.. while I was in the office i was told the following " your great with the patient's and parents, you are quick to jump in and help and the first one to want to learn something new, however no one likes you, no one wants to work with you, your disgusting get out of my office!" someone told the manager that I said she needed to get off her fat ass and work and even though everyone there thinks it I have never said it! but due to he said she said i was fired... STAY AWAY from this office!! its horrible to work at and if a person at the front desk doesn't like you they talk bad about you!

Bad place to bring your kids...doctor order some test that I didn't want and because I said I didn't want them they said I was hostile and canceled me my daughter and my wife to make matters worse they sent a bill 3 months after cancelling us saying they was sending it to collections even when I have insurance and provided them with the information...please take your kids somewhere else that actually cares about kids my daughter suffers from severe allergies and they dropped her causing her to suffer I mean who does that to kids?

Updated: They will not let you hold your child for vaccinations. The entire family is completely traumatized thanks to the insensitive policies in place, and callous nurses. Transferring back to my old office. 5/26: We have since seen another office and gave 5 stars for the wonderful experience we had. What a night and day difference. There is no excusing the way Valley Pediatric Group treats their patients. Not long after leaving my original review my husband and I received a certified letter by mail stating that they were no longer willing to administer healthcare services. Which is fine. We were breaking up anyway. But we could only shake our heads. I found it troubling how much time and wasted energy it took just to get away from them. When I called, the receptionist answered the phone laughing. So unprofessional. I spent collectively at least an hour (more than one call with long waits) on the phone trying to get my records transferred. All said and done, they claimed they never received my mailed consent form. Why? Who knows. But I actually had to come in person to get it all straightened out. When I got there, people in the siting room were complaining about how long they had been waiting for appointments. One family left. What a terrible inconvenience! I imagine it cost them time from work! When I was finally able to get my records released, it took them 14 days to transfer them. Legally, they have 15. I called to see what the hold up was and the woman blamed it on a new member of the team and had no idea we were still waiting. Wow. I am constantly amazed.

We love Valley Pediatrics. My sons saw Dr. DeVries before we left to move to Florida, and now that we are back in VA, my sons see Dr. Ostheimer. I have never had a poor experience with either doctor. As a matter of fact, both of them have gone above and beyond to make my 3 sons feel comfortable and cared for when we have made visits. When they are sick, we are able to get appointments quickly, and the doctors do what they can to ensure my boys can get back on their feet quickly. It is so refreshing as a mom to feel that my sons are getting the utmost care! Now that we are back to stay in the Valley, we hope to be patients at this practice for a long time to come!

Office staff is very hard to work with. We scheduled an appointmen, received an apt. card and showed up, only to be told they forgot to put our appointment in the computer, we ended up waiting an extra 45 minutes to get in. The doctors gave us contradicting instructions (although the doctors are very nice) When we decided to move to a different provider, we submitting to have our files shared with our new provider, and received notice that our request had been received, but it’s now been over a month and a half and they still weren’t transferred, our new doctor had to cal during an appointment and demand the files, so our baby could received the right vaciniations. Staff= clumsy and not personable Doctors= kind but not always helpful.

1.0 star rating Very difficult to get anything done through this office, even a simple task like reschedulung an appointment means at least a 10 minute holding time. A live doctor will never return your call to address your concerns nor are they able to make a correct diagnosis. Just about the only thing the pediatricians there are able to do is give vaccines and record weights---if you need anything extra, they are completely incapable---doctors and staff get overwhelmed, diagnoses get missed, so i suggest seeking help elsewhere. Totally incapable office on multiple levels--secretaries, administrative and physicians.

I absolutely love Valley Peds. I started with Dr. Mumbauer and then moved to Dr. Sauder. I will say that Dr. Sauder was not very compassionate and didn't seem to want to be bothered with dealing with patients. All I did was move my children to Dr. Devries and Dr. Fern. They are the only two I will see since I live closer to Waynesboro then Verona. Mumbauer, Devries and Fern genuinely care about the children. I wonder if these negative comments come from seeing Dr. Sauder as he tends to put you (the parent) on the defensive immediately. All I can say is if you don't like one doctor, try another....there are very good, very compassionate doctors at this practice.

Take your children elsewhere. The pediatricians do not genuinely care about your child or their well being; they're just another appointment number. Disgusting behavior by pediatricians who should really be mindful of using any form of the word "fail" and your child's name in the same sentence. In it for the paycheck and that's it. Disappointing. There always has to be "something wrong" with your child, I guess, to make them feel like they have done their jobs. This time, my two year old was "six pounds overweight"...she eats fruits, vegetables, fish and meat substitutes...she has sweets once a year on her birthday. She weighed six pounds less at 18 months, so I guess they should have told me to stop feeding my kid for six months then, who knew? Ridiculous.
