All of the doctors except 1 really did do their best to try and figure out what was wrong me. I had to go back to the ED because they told me if my symptoms didn't get better I had to come straight in. The doctor I seen that night was ignorant and told me I never had that diagnosis, hospital records said otherwise, and he said, "The ER is for emergencies and we can't do anything for."

MIXED EMOTIONS- I’ve had both my children here. I’ve always had wonderful experiences on the 4th floor (labor and delivery) but recently had to take my son to the ER and they took 5 minutes getting blood taken. Yes, he screamed but he didn’t move. The nurse was also REALLY weird. Kept tearing off tape and replacing it with a new piece and repeating the process making my son cry out in pain. Kept telling him to be quiet and telling him “oh that doesn’t hurt. Stop!” Of course I told her she had one more chance and then she was done. It just gave my son a very poor look on nurses and their should be better nurses to help with children.

Mother spent over a month in CCU. WONDERFUL doctors and nurses. Very caring and respectful. Sarah, Chad, Ashley, Coty...just to name a few...I cant remember them all. Facility is nice! You can not beat UHC CCU! 100% satisfied and I cant thank these girls and guys enough. From the doctors, to the nurses, housekeeping, desk workers...TOP NOTCH!

I went to the ER 3 times for severe pain. Was told by Dr. Rogers twice, she didnt even know why I was there? Duh, why does anyone go to the ER. Do not go here! Learned the hard way. Got a 6,000 bill for 3 trips to the ER and an overnight stay that $1.00 bottle of Amoxicillin would have fixed! Go to Morgantown! Would give UHC 0 stars!! Ever hear of The Hippocratic Oath?

ER is terrible! Took boy in throwing up blood but had to give life history to security guard at the front door just to get in. Then wait half the night to see a doctor. Is that really how you treat a child that is throwing up blood and his parents?

My husband was in a vehicle accident and was brought to the ER. He was in severe pain. When they found out he had no broken bones, they ripped the C-collar off him and within 10 minutes we were kicked out. I had to ask for a wheel chair myself because he couldn't even use his leg enough to walk out. He had a back and knee injury. They made no attempt to help us to the car at all. We had to go to MedExpress in Elkins after leaving that ER to get medical attention. There they gave him a shot for pain along with 3 other meds. Apparently, they assume everyone is a drug user at UHC. I thought we had bad care in Elkins, but after this experience at UHC, Davis Medical looks like a dream.

My husband was seen at this ER a few weeks ago in the middle of the night for a true emergency, his nurse Donna something was a complete Joke. Someone needs to take her license. He came in with acute pain in his abdomen, I have never seen him in such distress. He drove himself since I had small sleeping children. He layed on a small bed for hours with no pillow and no blanket. This man has never in his life even taken a pain pill and after they medicated him and the pain started coming back the nurse stated...I dont even know why your in pain...your CT was negative. Tell me this.. Do you think nothing is wrong with someone who cant stand up straight and is bleeding from his bottom? I MEAN COMMON! She had the audacity to belittle my husband for needing pain medicine. NOT EVERYONE IS A DRUG SEEKER! She was rude to him and a doctor never even came in before discharge to talk about his results...WAKE UP UHC. My husband had a horrible bleeding ulcer and they didnt as much give him a vomit pail for the ride home. IM DISGUSTED. My husband and my family will NEVER return to that facility...AND I will take every opportunity to let anyone and everyone how terrible the care is there. Thanks for the 5,000$ bill for nothing. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE. DRIVE TO RUBY.

Dr. Mary Schmidt is completely incompetent and unprofessional. She refuses to do her job properly and lied on official reports. Real piece of work. Hopefully if you have an emergency you have the ability to go to ANY other hospital. If not, I hope there is another doctor in the ER.

If you like stress, enjoy wasting time, and money. This is the place for you. Very hit and miss and when they miss they miss hard. I recommend taking your loved ones to Morgantown or Pittsburgh if possible. God Bless

The emergency room doctors don't seem to care about the patients that come in to them. They are in such a hurry to get rid of you they just don't listen to what's wrong or they just really don't care!! The hospital is nice and the other areas I have been to everyone was very polite. Just hope I never have to go through that emergency department.

It’s hard for patients with celiac disease to eat here due to the lack of gluten free food. Other than that the doctor and nurses here are very nice and well informed with what they’re doing.

I wish I could put 0 stars but I can't do that this is the worst hospital in the world they going to kill someone I give them my info and i got in the back in they asks me again what is your dob I told them they said no really I again told them so another nurse walks in and took blood test 2 hours later and said what going on so I said vomiting blood .bloody diarrhea can't hold down a thing for 4 days and I am in a lot of pain and she look at me and said there only blood when you wipe right I said no it a lot of blood so she said ya right so what color is it then I said red dark red so they is rectal exam and found a lot of blood and they all look at one other said o wow she wasn't lieing so I just look at them so they said we going to a ct and call the dr the dr came in and asking thing and said where your pain and look at me like I was lieing so I show him and told him my symptoms so he's pressed my stomach I was in so much pain I had tears and he told me I know you not in that much pain and they the nurse said you have blood in your stool how would she know that I told him she did a test that how so a another lady walks in my room tolding my I am a lie that's not my dob she wound some old Record of me and I am lieing who I am so long story short I was back to do a ct and the lady start screaming at me while I was being wheel to CT trying to threaten me she was going to call the police along with four other nurses so I said call them I want to make a report my self for my lawer I have my id so do it and then the nurse put the iv out of my arm with out put anything on it and walk alway they was blood everywhere it look like a murder since so my husband asks for the hospital Manager for security for whoever was in charge she said there's no one who can help you because I am not going to call them for you and I'm going to escort u out please don't go here there going to kill someone I am calling my lawer in the morning

I would like to praise the nurses and staff on the 5th floor of UHC. My family member has recently been hospitalized and has received excellent care . she has been asked often if she needed anything and was answered quickly. I find the comparison to a larger hospital in the area very superior

Long wait times, (well over 5 hours we sat) they take people who came in after you before you, even if you have chest pain. Dirty waiting rooms, rude staff, and you are immediately treated like a drug addict if you mention any sort of pain, even if you have a clean history and have never had any addiction problems. Definitely my last resort for medical care. If you are going for a child, just drive the extra 30 minutes to Ruby in Morgantown.

One of the worst hospitals in the country. Nurses tried 22 TIMES to insert an IV. My arms have never been so bruised. One of them smirked and said it's not incompetence. Then what is it? Dr. Castillo saved my life by sending me to Pittsburgh. I have lost friends and family to this place. If you have a critical illness don't go here.

We were taken to hospital after a MVA. Being from Canada, it was daunting to be taken to for foreign medical treatment; however, the staff at the hospital were excellent at treatment and understanding of our anxiety and concerns. We were taken in very quickly and assessed before being released. Thank you everyone for the top notch medical treatment we received.

Dr. Courtney treated my mother. He was informative, caring and professional. I am so pleased In his care. The nursing staff following the surgery were on top of everything, especially Eva..5th floor. Eva is possibly the best nurse I have encountered, she is very experienced and her confidence in patient care was impeccable and I felt blessed to have her care for my mother. RN Holly and caregiver Diana were the attentive, empathetic and knowledgeable day shift... I am so grateful for all of the nurses and aids.

This hosptial has so much potential being wasted. Got stuck in the ER for 9 hours before being admitted for an intestinal infection from an appendectomy. My primary DR is amazing but the staff could careless about you sometimes. Repeated myself more than once for stuff, kept running high fevers, etc and I dont feel important to anyone except my DR. End of story I have a abscesses but its not that important here. They can fix this if people just cared more about others, really!! Such a miserable stay. Come on UHC!!!! Managememt fix this!!!

Probably some of the worst Hospital experiences I've ever had. The doctors have been great. The front desk of numerous offices needs some help. First the people at the Orthopedics did not put my appointment in the computer so I call off work and drive there and all of a sudden they don't have me in their system. Then I get seen by the doctor a couple weeks later and he recommends an MRI. Well I never get a call saying when my MRI is luckily the Radiology department called to remind me of my appointment which I was never told about in the first place. So that's strike two. And now for the third strike I go to one session of physical therapy and schedule my whole next week with appointments for therapy. Well I call to ask about my appointment on Monday and they can't find me in the system period yet again someone forgot to schedule my stuff in the computer. Meanwhile I'm sitting here with an appointment card with times and dates on it.

I really enjoyed working here, but I do not see how UHC can get away with hiring Molly Abraham for a human resources job. I don't believe she has ever worked in her life. She has no qualifications to be firing anybody and there is no way she has a degree in HR. How is someone that has never been in a real job supposed to manage employees? Favoritism at its finest here in Bridgeport. Wonder how many qualified people missed out when they hired this disaster.

Mother was admitted late stage Alzheimers, with a history of respiratory issues, with orders from her doctor, respiratory and ENT, not to fully recline. I came for a daily visit, to find my mother fully reclined. I elevated her upper body and went to the nurses station. Their excuse was no one had told them. At that point my mother had been in the hospital 4 days. So what information gets paased at changeover? Apparently none.

Very nice, modern facilities. I appreciate the courteous staff more than ever in a hospital setting, when you might need some extra kindness. Easy to get to and easy to park. The admitting process is also painless, in large part due to the wonderful staff. It's very convenient to simply be able to walk down the hall to the main hospital from my doctor's office for an array of diagnostic services.

Empty waiting room, a sick child with a fever of 105, wait time is over 3 hours, and no one has checked in but several people have checked out. The emergency department needs to make serious changes. Also the ER waiting room had trash all over the place.

I had fallen and torn my hamstrings. I could not sit without severe pain. Walking was difficult, too. Plus, I felt dizzy. I had to be seen at the ER. When it was my turn to enter triage, I told the nurse that I felt dizzy. She walked ahead of me...did not offer any assistance. She asked me to sit down. I told her that it was painful to sit, and I would rather stand. Her reply: "Well, you drove her, didn't you." The conversation went down-hill from there. I asked her name. Her reply: "I don't have to give you my name; it's irrelevant." Instead of calling someone to escort me to the waiting room, she just told me to go and have a seat....knowing that I was unsteady. This was my last experience. I have had hundreds of experiences that were worse. It doesn't cost anything to be kind, but yet some of these so-called, "Nurses" are terrible! The ones with no empathy or regards for how a patient is feeling, are the same ones with a big chip on their shoulders. It makes you wonder why they chose nursing as a profession.
