I waited months to see Dr Rubenstein but I left the appointment with more questions than answers. I saw him for a tremor/muscle shake issue, and he didn't seem to take my problem very seriously, claiming that I could turn the tremor on and off (not true) and even suggesting that the problem was all in my head, partly because there is a family history. He seemed more interested in going through the steps of his exam than actually looking at my problem. Granted, my issue is unusual, and he admitted that I stumped him, that there was nothing he could do for me. I was confused, also, by his diagnosis. He looked at me and said I did not have a tremor, but a muscle twitch, however in his chart notes the diagnosis was tremor. He referred me to a specialist, who, coincidentally, took over 40 days to contact me. Dr Rubenstein is probably an adequate neurologist, however my visit with him was a total waste of time.

Failed to find anything wrong with me over 3 visits and 18 months. Had to go to the UW to get the diagnosis... very disappointing.

Arrogant is the best way to explain his manner. He was almost yelling at me. I started saying yes Sir. And he did not flinch, like he expected it. I got diagnosed with MS and that’s a bit sad etc.... is this guy depressed? And nurses were standing there not listening to me saying this is a hard day to handle. Clueless robots. As they never relayed my message to him. 3 of them looked kind of scared or not able to retain communication.

Great doctor! Dr Rubenstein is awesome. He has helped with my migraines for 5 years. He has successfully improved my quality of life. Stephanie is also amazing:)

I agree with reviewer, Ryan above. My son went to this doctor some years ago with serious closed-head injury post-job accident. He kept telling my son that "the brain doesn't feel pain so you couldn't still be feeling pain". If that's the case, and it is true the brain itself does not feel pain, then why don't we all just feel entirely fine and pain free after a serious accident or any bump on the head? I am sure he is "school smart" but his clinical etiquette is "appalling" if the drugs aren't working for you. This is one of the least empathic doctors you will ever, ever visit. Very sad! An unfeeling robot that has gone to medical school. Went elsewhere for the appropriate treatment and better manners and patient concern - the latter being the the most important in patient care (this doctor hasn't figured that out yet or he is just incapable of any feeling).

Found him to be very rude....refused to listen...jumped to conclusions that had no relation to what I was trying to explain....one of those "GOD LIKE" doctors......very much in demand as he is the only neurologist in the area...rude to the point I prefer to die before seeing him again

I had a positive experience with everyone from the front office staff, to the medical assistant, to Dr. Rubenstein. He was very thorough and kind, and was very attentive. I appreciate his tenacity in finding out what is going on.

Rubinstein did not seem very interested in talking to me about my condition. I'm a stroke patient and he interrupted me twice while I was explaining my emotional disturbances post-stroke, which I found very unprofessional, rude. and arrogant. He gave me some samples of Nuedexta to try for PBA without having me take a brief 13 question quiz on PBA symptoms. I left the office feeling stressed and agitated. I was agitated and even more upset when I got home and read about PBA. I took the quiz to determine if I might have PBA. I scored lower than what would indicate you have PBA, which causes sudden outburst of crying and laughing for no reason, which I don't do. There is also a negative drug interaction between Nuedexta and my diabetic medication which he either wasn't aware of or just failed to tell me. I'm asking for a second opinion. If you want a doctor to give you pills so you can be chemically restrained, this is your man. If you want to find healing for your underlying condition, seek help somewhere else.

The office and scheduling staff have been great and the Doctor seems to care about me and my problems. I have been to many neurological offices and this is one of the better ones by far.
