Awesome experience. We were having a hard time with our insurance and Charlene took 30 minutes to call and talk to 3 different people to get it fined. I couldn't even get past the first person because they told me I didn't have any benefits when I knew I did. Thank you Charlene.

The Children and Family Eye Doctors practice in Redmond has excellent and professional care. The medical professionals really know their stuff there and always treat me so well. Dr.Lenart is awesome too

The first time our family of four walked in, Thom took care of us. He is truly bonafied and legit when it comes to knowledge of glasses, what style fits your face, what insurance will cover, and warranties. He was the most kind and patient man with my son. After purchasing glasses for each of us, my son and Thom had formed a friendly relationship. Thom went as far as calling me to wish my son a happy birthday. My son also had a wonderful experience with eye tracking therapy. We also enjoyed Dr. Min. She was sweet and took her time with each of us. This is truly a place I would recommend taking your family to.

WE have been long term patients and have had great experience with Dr. Lenart.

Unprofessional, they only care about money.

I was referred by my doctor in Arlington for my daughter to come and see Dr. Lenart. It is a long drive but worth it. Dr. Lenart was able to help my daughter with glasses. She is already on her way to seeing better with a lower prescription. So glad we were sent here before things got worse.

We took our 5 years old to Redmond Eye Doctor that did a full eye exam with dilation. They recommended a different prescription and we followed their advice and ordered new glasses with them. Our son did not like the glasses and after two weeks we took him to see an ophthalmologist somewhere else. She gave us the right prescription and showed us how our son reacted much better to different glasses (with the right prescription). We then called Redmond Eye Doctor to ask for (at least) lens replacement. They insisted on us brining our son again for another test or pay for new lens. I see the great reviews and I wonder what went so wrong in our case. I was surprised and disappointed that they were not willing to at least replace the lens (without doing another test - which is not that trivial to do with the drops and everything).

Visited clinic this week, the Doctor and assistant were kind and knowledgable. Office staff was all extremely friendly and helpful while we waited. They were effecient, professional, and even offered us coffee! My children love the movie and playroom. We will gladly visit for our annual checkups. 5 star office outside of Seattle for sure, worth the drive.

the nurse is very rule on the line the billing is insane. My husband just asked one question, the doctor says fine, and they charge over $100 for that. Don't go here.

Rakesh Garg

Billing department sucks. They really don't have customer service attitude. They do incorrect billing and then send to collection department without sending reminders. They even charge for appointments cancelled etc. I would never visit this facility again, nor recommend any one.

Carolina Castillo

Dr. Min took the time to answer questions and do my annual exam. Excellent service!

My daughter has had a Chalazion every year around october since she was 2. They never go away on their own and Dr. Lenart was always very nonchalant about it and put us off until another visit a month later just to milk more cash out of our insurance. He only ever removed one of them because we basically forced him to. They also charge interest on bills after 30 days of no payment, which is unheard of for most medical facilities and they are unwilling to make payment plans that do not involve charging interest. They also denied my HSA card multiple times when I KNOW the balance was adequate to pay their fees. A horrible experience from start to finish.

Andrea Dobbs

So far a wonderful experience :) My 3 kiddos wear glasses and one of mine needed to get seen quickly. They got him in the next day for a new patient appointment. The front desk staff was helpful and kind. Dr. Min was really lovely to me and my son. Very great with kids :) Kind and prompt. Appt was easy and breezy and I really appreciate a good office! Thanks!

overall friendly staff, but when it comes to an issue - not willing to believe the patient's concerns and admit an error in a prescription issued. more specifically, when questioning the accuracy (strength) of the eye glass prescription (the process of obtaining of which was rushed) following the appointment, the doctor suggested that the prescription be filled first (by ordering glasses from the office's expensive eye glass shop) to determine whether the prescription actually works for me, which seems to be the most backwards way of going about correcting an error, rather than rechecking the strength as a courtesy. multiple calls did not result in an equitable resolution and I recommend that new patients getting their eye glass prescription at this office make sure they are comfortable with the clarity of the images shown during the refraction procedure (particularly, the subjective refinement portion). a visit to a doctor at another company confirmed that the prescription obtained at this particular office was indeed incorrect and that it did not actually put me at a 20/20 vision.

Thom the optitian was an incredible person and made the whole experience of getting new glasses unforgettable, he ordered us custom frames, gave amazing advice on what frames to buy and what not to buy, he is also a hilarious man. The office itself was super clean and the optometrists know exactly what they are doing and will get you the perfect prescription. Definetly a step up from the walmart and costco experience !

I attended My Daughter appointment in Oct2018 and Paid co-payment at that time and moved out of WA with in week. I called them and explained that I moved to different State and canceled next appoint well before the date. Now after 6 months .They are sending billing for extra co-payment(from credit collection department) . I never got a call from Clinic regarding pending payment(They said they were sending bills to old address- They never called me to ask new address)I asked them what are dates and time when you tried to reach and No answer for that .Now it went to Collection Department. This is not really professional way of dealing with your patients . When collection agents were able to call me and update me(I cleared this in 10 minutes after I got call) , Can't Billing department do the same thing? I never got a call from billing department(which is not really professional way of dealing )...

Not kid friendly. Wouldn't recommend it. Period. The office manager, Sylvia, is unprofessional in her tone and lacks the ability to relate. I thought it might be helpful to mention a few reasons we wouldn't be returning on our exit, being a business owner myself, I find this type of feedback helpful. The doctor seemed very short on patience when my son couldn't follow what he was being asked to do, this is a "child and family" practice. The first words out of his mouth to my three year old were "don't touch that it could electrocute you and kill you. We don't touch stuff that doesn't belong to us." He simply has his hand on the machine next to the chair he was asked to sit in for the appointment. When I brought up the concerning comment to Sylvia she said I should have better control of my kids and that the office supplies are expensive. I was then told that some parents sit with their kids in the chair so they can control them. It's worth mentioning I also had my 18 month old there, so two kids and a father in a chair is what Sylvia, the office manager, suggests. An argumentative tone should not be your (Sylvia) immediate response when a patients father voices a concern. - In response to the reply. In the child friendly area I was on my phone with my wife (as your business “does not accept emails, as they are not safe”). I was asked to have my wife fax the paperwork over, which she immediately did. Some 20 minutes later the receptionist “just got it”. My wife and I were discussing the appointment, if you must know, as well as how our days had been. The technician (Moana) was awesome - you could tell she truly liked interacting with children. During Moana’s exam, I clearly answered questions that were asked of me. As I was in there, my recollection of this is quite clear. I was also looking for answers to questions that I was unsure of such as previous prescriptions and dates (yes, on my phone), as those were also questions that were asked. My wife and I were also discussing the appointment duration as it had been about 45 minutes at this point and we hadn’t seen the doctor. Your claims of the conversation that was had are obviously going to be different than mine, and that is to be expected. I stand by what I said and my recollection of what was said to me. The statement about who’s fault it is - My concern was that if the room is unsafe and my child was indeed in danger of electrocution, as claimed by the doctor, while sitting calmly in the chair as instructed, then there’s an issue with the design and I see that as potential liability to you. We’ll agree to disagree. We won’t be back. Others considering this business should read the reviews, including the hidden ones on yelp (scroll to the bottom to see 16 more 1 star reviews). Your “facts” are full of lies. Your true colors are showing to us all. - While I don't think it's necessary to post, I did pole the immediate community for recommendations on a new eye doctor. We found out many people had a similar experiences to us.

We cannot recommend The Children and Family eye dr's of Redmond enough. We have received such personal and professional care from the staff. The front desk ladies run a welcoming and efficient office and our appointments consistently run on time. Dr. Lenart truly has a gift in determining children's correct prescriptive needs. Our children required glasses as early as preschool age and have been wearing them for about 3 years. Through Dr. Lenart's process their eyes have already improved significantly. The optical department has a large variety of high quality attractive frames. All of it's staff have been helpful and friendly but Tom is definitely our go to guy. He manages to find adorable frames and properly fit them to our kid's tiny faces. Our girls are constantly receiving compliments on how adorable the look. The Children's and Family eye Dr. is worth the drive from whatever your location

Thom and Young in the optical department are friendly and knowledgeable. Grateful for all the care they took in helping my son find the right glasses. I definitely recommend their services.

The person on the phone was rude and snippy. Unfortunately you lost the opportunity to have 5-6 more patients.

The doctors were good but the glasses side of the business was terrible. Pushy, overpriced, and not helpful.

We came to see Dr. Lenart at the suggestion of a friend after failing a school vision test. My daughter had always done well at all of her pediatrician visits so we didnt think much of it. Turns out she has something and only sees 20/100 out of the left eye. We are patching now and because of the age (5) she has a good chance to get her vision back. Dr. Lenart has been great and the staff was so kind and I ended up getting my eyes checked too. I will recommend this office to everyone.

What a horrible experience at this clinic. I hope there is zero star rating. My son saw Dr. Leung at this clinic for a routine exam in 2016/10. It turns out the proscription is too strong and it hurt his eyes. So we went back, hoping to have it corrected. As a result, they insisted charging me for a totally separate routine eye exam. This is not what I have experienced at other clinics. If something is wrong with the proscription, doctors just provide free follow up. I certainly will not go back again.

Bad experience! DO NOT GO THERE! We were charged over $300 for a vision recheck. More than 50% over regional average and not to say I only request vision recheck. No transparency, over charge, DO NOT GO THERE!

We saw dr Lenart back in September, was told it was a children’s place. Dr was so not kid friendly at all my son is 3 and understand somethings Dr had no patience he was rude to my 3 year old.

This is a review of the optical store. I have four children, two of whom have strabismus and are patients of Dr. Lenart. Both wear glasses. As a general rule we have always bought glasses from the optical store at the doctor office because it is very important that children glasses fit well and are correct. We pay 100% our of pocket for these glasses because they do not take our insurance. Because children can be hard on glasses, I also get a second pair online through our insurance to use in an emergency situation if the primary glasses are broken. To get the second set of glasses online, we need the pupillary distance (a measurement that was taken when we ordered the glasses from the optical store). I called the store to get this information and they would not give it to me without charging a $20 fee. I explained that I ordered glasses from them, which they have been compensated for, and they took the measurement at that time. I just want access to that information. The manager refused (and was rude and argumentative about it). I would perhaps understand this position if we did not purchase glasses from them, but the is not the case. I also wonder if withholding the information is a HIPPA violation. At the end of the day this is $20, but it is representative of the parsimonious nature and lack of transparency that has become synonymous with the health care system. To be clear, I do not want to conflate this experience with our experience with Dr. Lenart. Our experiences with Dr. Lenart have been excellent. In summary, see Dr. Lenart but get the glasses elsewhere. I am editing this review to respond to the response posted. I want to make it clear that we did purchase glasses from this store. They have been compensated for the service that they provided (in the price that we paid for the glasses) in taking the measurement and ordering the glasses -- all we are asking for is that they provide us with the measurement that they took so that we can order a second pair of back-up glasses (paid for by insurance) online. I would have no problem paying a fee for them to take the measurement, if they had not already taken it and been compensated for doing so. They maintain that withholding this information is completely fair. I will let the reader of this review decide that for themselves. I will also note that an important aspect of HIPPA is that patients have access to their health care records. See 45 CFR § 164.524.

After purchasing a pair of eyeglasses for my son from them. They wanted to charge me $20, when I asked to know what his PD measurement is.

We’ve had a great experience with this office, particularly with the folks in the optical department. Tom has been helping us since day one - helping us find our 3 year old the perfect pair of glasses, answering questions, explaining things. He does it all with kindness. Even goes out of his way to give us tips on how to make our daughter’s experience with glasses better.

A big thanks to the optical department at Children’s Eye Doctors for helping us find our 4 yr old grandson a perfect pair of prescription sunglasses that he loves! The staff was friendly and went out of their way to expedite getting the glasses in time for our trip to Arizona. The staff is very knowledgeable and great with kids!! Also want to say thank you to Dr Lenart at Children’s Eye Doctor’s for his exceptional skill and kindness. We were referred to Dr Lenart by several eye doctors for his expertise in strabismus when my grandson was first diagnosed at around 6 months, He has performed 2 surgeries for our grandson’s strabismus and helped improve his vision significantly. Dr Lenart is very thorough in his assessments and always readily available for questions and.concerns. Thank you to all the staff at Children’s Eye Doctors for your exceptional care!

My whole family goes to the Children's and Family Eye doctors, including my special needs young adult. They are so patient and gentle with her. There is no rushing her along. She likes the doctor and I feel confident that she is getting super care.

Nurse is very rude, and billing is terrible. If you don't care about your service or your money, feel free to go there. I brought my kid for an annual check, which is 100% covered by the insurance. The doctor asked if I had any concern, I said my kid's sometimes had eye blinking. Then the doctor immediately replied he had seasonal allergy. This sentence "apparently" is a diagnose, which costs around 150$ in the bill. The bill is attached. I called the billing and she said it is for the diagnosis H10013: ACUTE FOLLICULAR CONJUNCTIVITIS (Pink Eye). Then the nurse said this is for the "seasonal allergy". I asked the nurse if there is any way to avoid diagnostics during an annual check? She said you should go to other places. Well, I guess you already charged your patients more than they should pay so you don't care losing them. If you still want to go to this place, just remember every question the doctor answers, can costs you hundreds of dollars! If you still want to go to this place for some service which is 100% covered by your insurance, they can easily find issues and claim it is not covered and charge you! for some reason the bill I attached did not show up... tried a few times but doesn't work --- Updates: To owners of this place: please spend more time in investigation before reply. I only scheduled an annual check. I was not aware of any charges until I received the bill I called your nurse on 2019/3/27, I asked her if there is any way to avoid diagnostics in the future and she said in the phone "you should go to other places". In addition to spending time to reply reviews, please invest on training your employees and make sure they at least have proper respect for patients. and Yes, this is exactly what I post in yelp review, because I want to show reviewers my experience so they can use their own judgement. People work hard to make money, they should know how they can be easily charged just by asking a question.

My daughter was diagnosed with some “drifting eye” condition during a routine preventive exam. No big deal, can be corrected with eye therapy. But anyway, I thought of getting 2nd opinion and went to The Children and Family Eye Doctors in Redmond and got same diagnosis. This visit was also an yearly preventive visit but I received out-of-pocket expense of $267 unlike $0 at earlier doctor. I talked to Premera to find out what’s the difference between this visit vs the previous doctor. The first doctor had put the preventive as primary and diagnosis as secondary, hence insurance fully covered. But here, doctor billed diagnosis as primary and preventive as secondary hence insurance wouldn’t cover it. Premera rep was super helpful and offered to talk to billing dept and sounded positive that here also doctor can bill diagnosis as secondary. But doctor’s billing department refused by saying that this is what doctor billed and they cant do anything. During my call to billing department, I left with a feeling that ‘I don’t care if you take your business somewhere else, we are pretty busy anyway’. Looking at several other unsatisfied customers and “one star” reviews (and owners similar response in all, read it yourself!) its clear that they care only about maximizing their profit, not our concerns. Well, their doctors may be good but so are several eye doctors in this area. Wouldn’t recommend this facility. UPDATE AFTER OWNER'S RESPONSE: I clearly stated that both doctor's visits were annual 'covered' visits. The difference was how I was billed for the diagnosis. In my call, instead of saying let me find out more details or similar 'customer caring' comment, response was very arrogant... not literally but similar to "We are the best so its my way or the highway"

Fabulous clinic! The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, and Dr. Lenart is superb.

Shriram Swaminathan

We went to see Dr.Sahota for my infant daughter's medical exam and Dr.Sahota is a really, really good doctor. But it is their billing department that seems unreasonable. We have very good medical and vision insurance and this should have covered my daughter's vision exam completely. However, I got a bill from the facility stating that my vision provider would not reimburse the charged amount completely and I have to pay the difference. My VSP mentioned that they billed the companies in the wrong order; they should have billed VSP as primary and the medical as secondary. However, the billing department would not listen to this and stuck to their stand that I need to pay the difference. It is not the amount that I have to pay that irks me here, but the very fact that the billing seems unreasonable and they are unwilling to do anything about it. Quite a few other folks have made similar comments about their billing...so I am not alone. To summarize....Dr.Sahota is a wonderful doctor, but the billing department has irked me enough that we wouldn't go this facility anymore.
