The staff here was able to get me in last minute as a new patient after I chipped off the bottom of my front tooth. I found Kois by chance, but feel so lucky that I did because the care I received was phenomenal. The staff was so friendly and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and informed about what was going on. I was able to get pretty much a full exam and complete set of x-rays before getting my tooth fixed, including some consultation about future dental care I might need. Tara Kois was the doctor I saw and she ensured that I was happy with the repair before finishing up and had great attention to detail when it came to the repair (which was so amazing because it was my front, top tooth). I cannot express how beyond grateful I am that they were able to quickly fix this unfortunately incident. I may have came here for a fix, but Kois is most definitely going to become my regular dentist.

I would never have thought I would ever say that having a crown done was a pleasant experience, but it actually was...:) I hadn't had one since the day when it took 2 hours of drilling and the temporary crown on and off 15 times, and all of that, but this took almost no time at all, there was no pain at all...Dr. Kois is so nice and so gentle, and understanding of the "dentist-phobia" that I have...:) I won't wait so long to have the next one done. Thank you!!

Dr. Roloff made my 2 year stint with braces completely seamless. I'm not from the west side, but I went out of my way to get my braces done in Seattle because I had no luck finding an orthodontist as professional and capable as she is. I was referred to Koi Dentistry by two dentists (one teaches at UW) , both retired not, as one of the best dentists in the State of Washington. Dr. Dean (Prosthodontist) and Dr Roloff (Orthodontist) aren't just great dentist but also great people, and so is their staff. They are always super nice and friendly. Dr. Dean is one of the best dentists in town. He did the PAOO (Periodontally accelerated osteogenic orthodontics) surgery on me before I started Invisalign with Dr. Roloff. Not the prettiest surgery out there but I completely trusted them. Dr.Roloff gave me a lot of confidence and I couldn't say no. So glad I did it. My mouth healed perfectly over the next few weeks and thanks to the surgery the invisalign process is going extremely well. Dr. Roloff does an amazing job at tracking the movement progress and keeping the patient informed at all times (I tend to ask a lot of questions). I've email her a number of times with questions and she has always responded back within 24 hours. I have never had any issues scheduling appointments of any type and they are always super flexible with times. I really like the email and text reminder notifications previous to any appointment. My hygienist, Dana, she is amazing at her job. Their equipment is the latest and greatest and so is their office, super welcoming and friendly. I would absolutely recommend Koi Dentistry to all my friends, family and anyone who reads this review.

Dr. Kois is fantastic and very helpful. Dana, who is the hygienist is very careful and provides a pain free cleaning experience on every visit. I have yet to find cleaning this pain free in all my years going to a dentist. She really fantastic and I would highly recommend this place.

They are sensitive to patient needs and preferences, and go out of their way to make patients comfortable. First I would like to say that this is the nicest dental facility that I have ever stepped foot into. Although location and appearances play a factor into experience, it was the whole team at Kois Dentistry that really deserves the 5 star rating. The moment you walk through the doors you are greeted by the most friendly and a respectful staff. Even more so than how they treated me, there was an elderly women and her daughter at the front desk while I was waiting to be taken back, they seemed to go above and beyond to treat them with care and dignity that speaks highly of the team they have at this dentistry. Making an appointment was easy and both receptionists that I spoke to were very friendly and helpful. Recently I had a veneer on my front tooth break. My previous dentist had retired so I was without someone I trusted to fix it, and it was an emergency. I had been referred to Kois Dentistry as "the best", and I was not disappointed. They were very professional and caring, and sensitive to my need to get in quickly and have my teeth look as good as they did before the break. I was somewhat concerned about driving into Seattle from my home in Tacoma, but the access from I-5 was easy and they had reserved parking spaces. My front tooth looks great! I will be a regular now, and would not hesitate to recommend Kois.

Kois has been my dentist office for about 8 years now. Both Tara and Dean have worked on me over the years. They're some of the best dentists in Seattle, very personable, concerned about my level of comfort there in the chair and very knowledgeable in the industry, teach CEs for other dentists at their facility. Also, their dental hygienist Dana is absolutely amazing. She always gives me excellent advice and studies my chart in detail before I arrive so she can hit the ground running right when I get there. Because of her, my teeth are much healthier these days. Highly recommend this office and wouldn't go anywhere else.

I am still sitting in their lobby waiting for my ride post op but I couldn’t wait to post a review. I was referred to this clinic by two friends of mine who work for the teaching center associated with this clinic. After breaking my perfectly healthy tooth on a piece of pizza several surgeons refused to do the impant surgery because of the location of my sinus nerve. I met with Dr. Kois and he instantly made me feel at ease. He told me I was a candidate for surgery and I scheduled my appointment several months out. I work in healthcare so I hold the practitioners and practices I seek care at to very high standards. This clinic exceeded my expectations. Stacey at the front desk/ financial department is one of a kind. She is genuine, knowledgeable, considerate and really helps you feel at ease when scheduling, making payments and planning future care. I was told the surgery would take about an hour. My boyfriend dropped me off to go get his teeth cleaned down the road. My “complicated” surgery took him less than 30 min! Faster than it took my boyfriend to get his teeth cleaned. Getting oral surgery is not fun at all, but I wouldn’t think twice about doing it over again if Dr. Kois was preforming the surgery. Becki his assistant was top notch. I had a panic attack before showing up because surgery is scary! No matter how routine. She had the most amazing bed side manor, answered all of my questions and really helped me get comfortable pre and post op. They are an incredible team. Overall this is the best experience I have ever had at a dental clinic. So much so that I am going to have them place my crown rather than my normal dentist. I’m even going to fully transfer all my care here for routine cleaning and visits. I really love my old dentist, but I am confident there isn’t any other dentist that comes close to the experience and service they offer here. I am so thankful and so appreciative I found this place. A true gem in the city. If you are are in need of a dentist or oral surgeon do not hesitate calling them! They will help you understand your insurance benefits and will work with you on payment. You have nothing to lose! Go perfect your smile with Dr. Kois!

Dr. Kois and Dr. Kois! They are absolutely the best! The staff here works in great harmony. Everyone is friendly - you are always greeted with a smile and kind words. The office itself is magnificent. Modern and spotless. And of course what really matters is the quality of care - and that is tops. Dr. Dean and Dr. Tara are top dentists who take enormous pride in their work - and in being there for their patients. They are natural care givers. And Dana, their hygienist, takes her cues from them - she is a perfectionist - and somehow gets your cleaning done with no discomfort. Just big smiles all around.

My experience was horrible, and I encourage everyone to think twice before going there for either a major procedure or a general checkup and here is why: I was initially impressed by all the 5-star reviews and truly wanted Kois Dentistry to be my primary place for all my dental needs, however things went South after my initial visit. My main goal for the visit was to setup an implant procedure; they quickly provided the estimate with about $3000 due out of pocket, yes, _after the insurance payment_. To make things quick I was brought into the separate room and was asked to sign the paper that I agree with the estimate and that I have to pay in full on the day of the procedure. I had to sign the paper but requested for the proper insurance pre-approval claim to be filed before I commit to the procedure. I was told they will contact me as soon as they hear back from the insurance. It was the beginning of the 4th quarter of the year and I mentioned that I would like to make this as quick as possible to use my unused insurance. Fast forward, I haven't heard back from them. I kept calling and emailing them every week, but always got the same response, that they haven't heard from the insurance. After 3+ weeks, I have contacted the insurance to inquire about the case and was told that the pre-approval claim has been processed and sent more than two weeks ago. I had to set the personal account with Delta Dental to confirm that and was surprised to learn that the pre-approval has been processed within first week of my initial visit and my estimate out of pocket was a little over $700. I immediately went to another Oral Surgery clinic for the second opinion and was given the correct $700 estimate for the same procedure. So, I have tried to contact Kois Dentistry office regarding this both via email and phone. They haven't replied to any of my emails for almost a month. (keep in mind it has been almost two months since my initial visit in early October). After my 5th phone call, I finally got a call back and the representative told me $1800 is the best they could offer me. I informed them in this case I am not interested and will proceed with another surgeon. Right after that I was able to schedule the implant surgery with another doctor, the procedure went well, and I paid $700 as expected. To top it off, during the initial checkup Dr. Kois noticed one of my teeth had a partial crown instead of the more expensive full crown and said they don't like it and want to replace it with the full crown. I informed them the procedure has been done more than 4 years ago by a great professional in the different state and I had no problems with it since then. Sure enough, the crown chipped 2 weeks later... Coincidence?

I had Invisalign done with Dr. Brienne Roloff and it was a perfect experience from beginning to end. She is a perfectionist who and was attentive and professional from the initial consultation through to post-treatment. I've had orthodontic work done before and it can be a confusing and daunting process but Dr. Roloff provided confident and reassuring guidance the whole way. My situation was particularly tricky because of dental work that needed to be performed simultaneously and Dr. Roloff coordinated with my dentist to ensure everything went smoothly. It was a completely stress-free experience for me and I can't recommend her enough!

Due to multiple complications caused by a previous Edmonds dentist in 2016, I've searched and consulted 9 dentists/prosthodontists over 9 months across the greater Seattle area and out of state. I was told by many of these dentists that Seattle has one of the best dental care professionals in the nation. But repeatedly, these top dentists have backed down on my case (after taking my money) and told me there is nothing they can do to help me but to accept life. Over one breakfast, my teeth were acting up again. I searched frivolously on the 'net for yet more dentists to see if there is anyone else I haven't visited. I don't remember how I came across the Kois Dentistry in Seattle's South Lake Union district, but I decided to phone in just to chat about my situation. From the first moment I spoke to receptionist Su, she provided the utmost attention-to-detail responses to my inquiries, and was able to set up an appointment to see Dr. Dean Kois within the week. Having been deeply depressed over my unfixable teeth for so many months, I managed to drag myself into Kois Dentistry, repeating the by-now fluid process of filling out paperworks and go through explaining my problems with the dental assistant, Michelle. Then enters Dr. Dean Kois. Right from the get go I noticed Dr. Dean is a lefty, just like me. Perhaps lefties think alike, I felt an immediate connection to this friendly and humorous man. Dr. Dean not only understood every bit of my concerns, his responses and diagnosis were spot on in pinpointing the false works and undiagnosable symptoms which the previous 8 dentists turned me away for. Even though at the time I have completely lost faith in all dentists and their untrustworthy practices, Dr. Dean managed to bring me out from the bottom of the well, and patiently laid out clear plans to help solve all my dental problems. Over the course of one month, I visited Dr. Dean every week to slowly and meticulously fix previous mistakes put in by the other dentist. I was amazed by the feathery touch, quick and confident hands, and at times, much needed reassurances Dr. Dean provided. While he is great at turning sour experiences into lighthearted jokes, as soon as a serious inquiry is asked, he would address the concerns in the most professional and in-depth manner. In the end, Dr. Dean gave my life back after 9 dark months. I'm very grateful to have come across the Kois Dentistry, and is delighted to have Dr. Dean as my permanent dentist in Seattle.

I am still sitting in their lobby waiting for my ride post op but I couldn’t wait to post a review. I was referred to this clinic by two friends of mine who work for the teaching center associated with this clinic. After breaking my perfectly healthy tooth on a piece of pizza several surgeons refused to do the impant surgery because of the location of my sinus nerve. I met with Dr. Kois and he instantly made me feel at ease. He told me I was a candidate for surgery and I scheduled my appointment several months out. I work in healthcare so I hold the practitioners and practices I seek care at to very high standards. This clinic exceeded my expectations. Stacey at the front desk/ financial department is one of a kind. She is genuine, knowledgeable, considerate and really helps you feel at ease when scheduling, making payments and planning future care. I was told the surgery would take about an hour. My boyfriend dropped me off to go get his teeth cleaned down the road. My “complicated” surgery took him less than 30 min! Faster than it took my boyfriend to get his teeth cleaned. Getting oral surgery is not fun at all, but I wouldn’t think twice about doing it over again if Dr. Kois was preforming the surgery. Becki his assistant was top notch. I had a panic attack before showing up because surgery is scary! No matter how routine. She had the most amazing bed side manor, answered all of my questions and really helped me get comfortable pre and post op. They are an incredible team. Overall this is the best experience I have ever had at a dental clinic. So much so that I am going to have them place my crown rather than my normal dentist. I’m even going to fully transfer all my care here for routine cleaning and visits. I really love my old dentist, but I am confident there isn’t any other dentist that comes close to the experience and service they offer here. I am so thankful and so appreciative I found this place. A true gem in the city. If you are are in need of a dentist or oral surgeon do not hesitate calling them! They will help you understand your insurance benefits and will work with you on payment. The office itself is magnificent. Modern and spotless. And of course what really matters is the quality of care - and that is tops. Dr. Dean and Dr. Tara are top dentists who take enormous pride in their work - and in being there for their patients. They are natural care givers. My experience was horrible, and I encourage everyone to think twice before going there for either a major procedure or a general checkup and here is why: I was initially impressed by all the 5-star reviews and truly wanted Kois Dentistry to be my primary place for all my dental needs, however things went South after my initial visit. My main goal for the visit was to setup an implant procedure; they quickly provided the estimate with about $3000 due out of pocket, yes, _after the insurance payment_. To make things quick I was brought into the separate room and was asked to sign the paper that I agree with the estimate and that I have to pay in full on the day of the procedure. I had to sign the paper but requested for the proper insurance pre-approval claim to be filed before I commit to the procedure. I was told they will contact me as soon as they hear back from the insurance. It was the beginning of the 4th quarter of the year and I mentioned that I would like to make this as quick as possible to use my unused insurance. Fast forward, I haven't heard back from them. I kept calling and emailing them every week, but always got the same response, that they haven't heard from the insurance. After 3+ weeks, I have contacted the insurance to inquire about the case and was told that the pre-approval claim has been processed and sent more than two weeks ago. I had to set the personal account with Delta Dental to confirm that and was surprised to learn that the pre-approval has been processed within first week of my initial visit and my estimate out of pocket was a little over $700. I immediately went to another Oral Surgery clinic for the second opinion and was given the correct $700 estimate for the same procedure. So, I have tried to contact Kois Dentistry office regarding this both via email and phone. They haven't replied to any of my emails for almost a month. (keep in mind it has been almost two months since my initial visit in early October). After my 5th phone call, I finally got a call back and the representative told me $1800 is the best they could offer me. I informed them in this case I am not interested and will proceed with another surgeon. Right after that I was able to schedule the implant surgery with another doctor, the procedure went well, and I paid $700 as expected. To top it off, during the initial checkup Dr. Kois noticed one of my teeth had a partial crown instead of the more expensive full crown and said they don't like it and want to replace it with the full crown. I informed them the procedure has been done more than 4 years ago by a great professional in the different state and I had no problems with it since then. Sure enough, the crown chipped 2 weeks later... Coincidence?

Well I am currently still numb but let me assure you it is not affecting my perception one bit. I went into Kois Dentistry about a month ago after finally deciding it was time to get over my fear of the Dentist. I knew I was going to need a significant amount of work done but, the moment I walked in and met the folks who worked there I felt I had made the right decision. Well this week I came in for my deep cleanings (just finished my 2nd half) and had been dreading it for the past couple of weeks. Boy, was all that worrying for nothing. Dana made sure I was comfortable every step of the way, even though my mouth didn't feel like making it easy for her. As someone who was terrified of shots coming in, I can confidently say they don't bother me in the slightest anymore. My teeth already look so much better and I don't feel like I need to hide my smile because of the great work and care Dana provided me. I just had my first visit and looking back on it, there was nothing to be worried about. Everyone at Kois Dentistry is amazing. They made me feel relaxed and none of them were judgmental. Dr. Dean Kois thoroughly examined every inch of my mouth and it turned out my teeth were in great shape...I just needed a cleaning. History repeats itself and my daughter broke her front teeth last year! In my search for the best, we are SO glad we found Dr. Dean (Kois)! He practices and TRAINS other dentists. I am sure he teaches many good dentists, but I feel so lucky to have the expert as her dentist. (You can't tell her teeth were ever broken, and they haven't chipped or cracked--even though they are about half fill.)

Well I am currently still numb but let me assure you it is not affecting my perception one bit. I went into Kois Dentistry about a month ago after finally deciding it was time to get over my fear of the Dentist. I knew I was going to need a significant amount of work done but, the moment I walked in and met the folks who worked there I felt I had made the right decision. Well this week I came in for my deep cleanings (just finished my 2nd half) and had been dreading it for the past couple of weeks. Boy, was all that worrying for nothing. Dana made sure I was comfortable every step of the way, even though my mouth didn't feel like making it easy for her. As someone who was terrified of shots coming in, I can confidently say they don't bother me in the slightest anymore. My teeth already look so much better and I don't feel like I need to hide my smile because of the great work and care Dana provided me. Kois Dentistry exceeded all of my expectations and I would not hesitate to recommend their services to anyone who needs dental work, especially those who are fearful ( They will take great care of you!).
