Biggest mistake of my life to not switch out of Kaiser Permanente by my PEBB cutoff date of Nov. 30 2018. Now its too late. Absolutely do not use this company if you ever expect to see a specialist, communicate by phone, or get timely accurate treatment of a serious chronic problem. The elderly, non assertive or uneducated will never be able to self advocate. Forget it if you have sleep apnea. Basically the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing including the sleep lab. Changes in diagnoses, sleep team not executing doctor's orders for pressure changes untill called on it 10 days later, mistaken understanding of the equipment settings by doctor and respiratory therapists, not looking at nightly sleep report before prescribing, and dme provider Apria is right up there with comcast for the very worst customer service ever--not being able to find orders, not returning calls, never answering phone, not being familiar with the equipment they sell and rent. Kaiser is cheap. Many are trapped and have to use them. You get what you pay for. I was a Group Health member for most of my life. Kaiser is a disaster by comparison. Kaiser has tried to grow too fast, is understaffed, and does not have the underlying foundation to deal with serious chronic health issues. It'll do if you are never sick, or can drop in to Bartells. Remodeling the buildings should be a lower priority than treating patients.
