I went to see Dr. Chimes for a running related injury I got about 1.5yrs ago I was not able to fix with PT. Luckily he diagnosed the problem on the first visit, and was able to resolve the issue quickly with a ultrasound guided injection. Would highly recommend him and his team.

I was recommended to Dr. Chimes by my primary care physician for neck and shoulder issues. From the first visit I was struck by Dr. Chimes detailed assessment and the fact that he was totally present with me during that first visit, and in every other visits since. My experience with other doctors has been underwhelming. There is usually the half distracted, can't wait to get on to the next patient, approach. This attitude is usually topped with the scant explanation of procedures and test results, or with explanations that is so full of jargon that one can scarcely do more than just nod. With Dr. Chimes he uses a multi-media approach to explain and demonstrate what is going on with my body, my neck and spine in this case. He provides the technical details, then he breaks it down the to the practical implications. He listens when you ask a question, and he takes the time to explain. It is usually a conversation with him, one that leaves me feeling empowered to make choices among clearly explained options for moving forward with my care. Thanks doc, you are doing something right. Keep it up.

I was referred to Gary Chimes to identify the cause of deep and excruciating inner thigh pain occurring almost exclusively at night. While I believe Gary is competent as a doctor, his manner and way of interacting with me was crass, condescending and beyond rude. Let me give you an example. On my second appointment Chimes performed an ultra sound and gave me a numbing shot to see if that would isolate the muscle or tendon he suspected was causing the pain. When I explained I had ZERO pain at that time, because all of my discomfort occurred at night, he stopped and asked, "Who is your insurance provider?" When I answered, "Regents" he quickly replied, "Well they aren't going to pay me enough to come and apply this shot at your home in the middle of the night." He said this in front of both his assistant and an intern. While the ultrasound was going on, he seemed to identify the cause of the pain. But when he was done and I asked what is was and what could be done he said, "We don't have time for that. You'll have to schedule another appointment." Chimes then referred me to another office just in case there were related issues and he wanted me to go there before coming back to see him. I wasn't able to get out of that appointment quickly enough, which was scheduled on the same day, in time to make my 3rd appointment with Chimes. The office I was scheduled with accidentally took the patient scheduled after me prior to me, causing the delay. Honest mistake. When I called to say I'd be 45 minutes late I was told that Chimes could not see me and I would be subject to a $50 cancellation fee. My co pay is $40, but they wanted now $50 because obviously this is a business and they couldn't bill insurance for my visit. When I called to explain what happened and complained about the fee, the office manager agreed to waive the fee but said Gary would no longer agree to see me for another appointment because I had made an issue about having to pay an extra $50. Wow. So this office sees me two times, they know what is wrong with me, refuse to tell me on the prior appointment what the issue or remedy is and now won't complete the third visit because I voiced my disapproval of getting hit with $50? Again, I think this doctor is competent and probably really good at what he does. But his arrogance during my visit and condescending ways left a bad taste in my mouth. Avoid this office. There are more compassionate doctors I'm sure equally as competent.

My experience with Dr. P. Chimes at Lake Washington Sports and Spine has been great. He is a very good listener and was able to quickly diagnose my symptoms. I would highly recommend him to all who have sports and/or spine issues.

I've gone to Dr. Gary Chimes for multiple injuries over the last 3 years, and each time they've been extremely helpful, insightful, profession, and easy to work with. My experience with Dr. Chimes has been great, and I've also had great experiences with each of the places/people he has referred me to (physical therapy, imaging, procedures, etc.). I highly recommend Lake Washington Sports and Spine to all!

I am a physical therapist and have been working with Dr. Chimes and his colleague Dr. Hyman for the past 6 years. I can truly say this has been an incredibly valuable relationship with 2 knowledgeable and compassionate physicians whom I can easily call and seek guidance on a patient case. I value Dr. Chimes' attention to detail and clear instructions for diagnosis and treatment focus. For a physical therapist, a good relationship with a physiatrist is a must to help manage musculoskeletal conditions and refer to the physician when red flags arise of PT is not effective. Dr. Chimes is an incredibly knowledgeable physician whom I trust and can always ask for help and recommendations. I highly recommend Dr. Chimes with Lake Washington Spots & Spine if you have back/hip pain, shoulder/knee/ankle pain, or simply need someone to diagnose your issue that other doctor's have not been able to. This is the office that will care for you from start to finish.

Seems to know what he's doing, but not very friendly or helpful with his recommendations and suggestions. Spent the majority of my appointment testing a concussion even though the accident happened a month prior and was already treated and diagnosed by doctors and two hospitals (which is a waste of my time and his) vs answer relevant questions that I had for him and why I was there (then we ran out of time and he said i need to book another appointment). I won't be back. Also, don't ask him any questions while he's talking to you before he asks for your questions, he seems to not be able to handle the appointment and questions at the same time. "I think your brain works faster than mine". Yup.

Great place great people when in with back pain and a pain in my left buttock and a shooting pain down my left leg. Dr. Chimes quickly diagnosed my issue and scheduled me for an injection, it went great and has been over two months so far and pain has not returned. Excellent job. Thank you kind Sir
