David Newell has operated on two of my family members, conservatively treated two other family members, and saved my oldest brothers life by rapid assessment and triage to other specialists. He is a talented surgeon and physician. I trust him implicitly.

Dr. Performed MVD surgery. He cut a surprisingly large 5-6 inch incision. Three weeks later, I developed and infection which turned out to be MRSA. Dr Newell, Puneet Gupta and my care team ignored the infection. Wound deteriorated and opened to point we could see surgical parWe asked them to culture it. They did not. Infection ate most of my tissue behind ear down my neck and damaged other nerves. Turns out he had other surgeries at the same time as mine. Ruined my life and I live life of pain. Asked Hospital to provide Dr Newell’s schedule and surgical minutes as it is unknown whether Dr Newell performed surgery or parts of surgery. Asked them to provide Dr Newell’s time in and out of surgery. Hospital conveniently does not keep those records. I later found out through good sources that Dr. Newell had another surgery scheduled that over lapped with mine. I am not entirely sure who performed my surgery.

Dr David Newell is amazing. There are not enough stars in the world for this incredible caring and talented surgeon. If you are thinking about using Dr. David Newell for trigeminal neuralgia surgery, do not hesitate. Highly recommend!!!

I am so thankful for Dr. Newell and his staff. My mother was in unbearable pain with trigeminal neuralgia. He was able to review her MRI and instantly identify the source of her pain, after a radiologist and neurologist had both told us they didn't see any reason for her pain. He was able to meet with her two days later and within a week he was able to perform a MVD surgery that took away her TN pain completely. The icing on the cake was his office staff. They are the nicest, most personable group of people you could ask for. His PA, Sarah, was very knowledgeable and there to answer all our questions, before and since the procedure.

Newell has botched two cervical surgeries, failed to fuse, caused a third disc to blow. He departed Swedish under mysterious circumstances. I'm ggoing to have my lawyer look for him.

Dr Newell was amazing. I needed a spinal fusion on L5-S1 and the doctors in my town weren't willing to do it on me. They said I was too young. Dr Newell said "I can fix it and I don't think you should wait." It has been the best thing ever for me. The pain all down my legs went away and my back is pain free about 85% of the time. I praise his name constantly and tell anyone that will listen to go see him.

Dr. Newell is a great surgeon - I had excruciating pain which prevented me from working or doing much of anything. He was able to see me and to schedule surgery right away. This was in May and the surgery went very well. It also was the best recovery I have had (I had three prior back surgeries with other surgeons that did not go nearly as well!). Today I feel better than I have in many years -I think of him as a miracle worker! Thank you Dr. Newell for giving me back my ability to work and play again!

As far as I'm concerned he has saved my life not only once but twice.He's kind, caring and very thorough. Exactly what you want someone to be who's operating on your brain. If it weren't for him I might not be here. Also at full capacity. I had a golf ball sized brain tumor. That was surrounded by a gelatinous substance that actually was protecting my brain from the cancer. So altogether just a bit smaller than a tennis ball. That first presented with a seizure. Which had metastasized from my lungs. This was Jan. 2015. Then in April of 2016 was having some numbness on my left side and immediately knew something was wrong. Went back to Dr. Newell. And within a few hrs. he had a plan. Another Craneotomy only this time it was Necrosis. Which is dead cells from the Cyber Knife radiation therapy I had. No new tumor !! Will not go to anyone else. You the MAN!! Dr David Newell!! Thank you Sir

Well my surgery to remove my cavernous hemangioma went smoother than expected. I'm getting out a day early. My pain lessened a ton. I should have a follow up in about 6-8 weeks.

My husband and I are grateful to Dr David W Newell, MD and his team for resolving my acute pain caused by my fifth cranial nerve. My pain felt like I was being tasered in my face and lasted for several minutes at a time. Needed to take a medical leave from work. Dr. Newell is not only a skilled and very experienced neurosurgeon, he has the ability to put you at ease in the midst of a very stressful and difficult time. When we discovered earlier this year that my husband had a large aneurysm right in the middle of his brain, we were understandably worried and overwhelmed trying to make the right decision on treatment approach. Dr. Newell was very professional answering and explaining my condition and the corrective surgery he recommended. He and his staff were courteous. Never had to wait for more than a few minutes. The surgery was performed at Swedish Hospital in Seattle WA. Following the extensive surgery I was pain free except for headaches. When these did not go away as expected Dr. Newell immediately diagnosed the problem and successfully corrected the issue. I highly recommend him and Swedish Hospital.
