Great doctors for the most part. I haven't had any issues with them, but the individuals that give the shots or take blood are not all properly trained. My toddler had to take a lead test. The Asian gentlemen kept poking her. Come to find out, he didn't even get enough blood from my daughter and they had to redo it at her next appointment. Fast forward to today. A black girl with short twist was giving my daughter her vaccines. I did my part and held her arms, but this amateur giving the shot wasn't holding her legs down properly and she lost hold of the needle for a few seconds. I was annoyed as hell. The needle could have broke off in her leg. Next time I will make sure she's not giving shots to my daughter. Who hired her?

Waited 90 minutes after appointment time to be seen for a 4 year old well visit. Excuses about a computer issue. Honestly, if I was 90 minutes late for an appt. I would have been charged a fee for missing the appt. They can apologize all they want to but they are still going to bill me and my insurance company despite terrible service.

I’ve been coming here since both my kids were born. We’ve always had great experiences with everyone in the office. We’ve seen almost all the doctors and nurse practitioners and are all wonderful. The nurses are extremely helpful as well. I’ve had to call a few times just for simple questions and I’ve always been able to get the help that I need. My kids love going to the doctor because they make it such a pleasant experience

Echo the previous reviews, very unprofessional staff. Treat patient rude in terms of making you to wait after scheduled time, ignore patients' question etc. Anyway, rarely leave any review for medical practitioners, but just want to remind anyone would like to become new patient for this office. Stay away from this office if you want your precious kids have qualified pediatric care. There are many in this area.

I recently tried The Pediatric Group's (TPG) Chantilly, VA, location for my four (4) year old daughter, as it was closer to our home than our current Pediatrician and was in-network for insurance, but unfortunately was led to write this review after our four year well-child check up visit. My daughter has a few vaccines to receive before Kindergarten next year and during the visit the Doctor informed me that my Daughter would be receiving 3 vaccines that day, with one of them being a combination vaccine (DTaP). I informed the Doctor that I did not feel comfortable with that recommendation and would like to only give my Daughter one vaccine per month and would like to come back once/month following this visit to receive the other two vaccines. Rather than the Doctor trying to make me and my daughter feel comfortable about the benefits and side effects of the vaccines she recommended that day, she told me she would have to send my request to the Partners of the practice and they may dismiss us as patients. I have to say that the Doctor's immediate threatening response to my concerns was not a desirable one, which definitely made our visit more uncomfortable and put us on the defensive. I informed the Doctor that as a Parent, I did not feel comfortable with the recommended vaccine schedule, but did feel comfortable with my daughter receiving one vaccine per month. My daughter has experienced some vaccine side effects in the past (primarily fever, rashes, injection bruises, swelling, etc), so we have decided to only administer one at a time as to minimize the after effects, which seems to be working for us. The Doctor was very persistent in pushing multiple vaccines, did not attempt to address my concerns and simply told me that vaccines have no side effects and are safe. I was shocked to hear this, as any person can go on Google and read all of the potential side effects of any vaccine. Per my request, my Daughter only received one vaccine that visit and about two weeks afterwards, I received a threatening letter from the Practice Administrator (not the Doctor or Partner) informing me that if my daughter does not comply with the guidelines (key word "guidelines") of the American Academy of Pediatrics, my Daughter would be dismissed from the Practice. I never received a phone call or email from any Doctor, Nurse or Practice Administrator of TPG to discuss my concerns, or their practice concerns, between the time of the well-child visit and receipt of the threatening letter. As a result of this poor treatment, we will not be going back to TPG and will be returning to our previous Pediatrician in Burke who was always very understanding, non-threatening and made us feel comfortable at every visit with every medicine and vaccine we had to give our Daughter. PS - there are no toys, TVs, books, etc in the waiting room of this practice, like there are in other Pediatrician waiting rooms.

This practice does not care about their clients and Patients at all . Very rude nurses on triage phones, callous pediatrician ( would not write necessary order for Metabolic panel for my daughter even though we requested after her appointment ) and not concerned about losing a client , who's been with them for a while. I requested to talk to her pediatrician to see if she will write an order for missing blood work but she was not available to talk as per nurse and does not know when Dr. will be able to call me back .So, please avoid this group of clinics at all cost . They do not practice patient oriented medicine at all . They treat you as a number at a big box store .

Poor service. Providers are not caring. Very poor communication between staff. Provider expects patient to wait more than an hour but the provider wanted to cancel the appointment when the patient is 5 mins late.

Dr Niu has seen my daughter couple of times. She is very good, patient and helpful. There was a billing issue by my insurance, but the billing department is helpful.

The practice has great Doctors, and is a great place to take your kids except when they are sick. We have been patrons of this service for 5 years now and the first time our daughter is suffering from something, we encounter the following. Our nightmare: Our daughter was running a temperature of 105 degrees and the first day we went to the practice, a nurse practitioner gave us tips on how to manage the fever and had ruled out flu and streps. The second visit was on the third day and again we got to meet only the nurse practitioner, who didn't seem too concerned again. My wife took my daughter again on the 6th day and now she couldn't meet anybody since apparently no one was available. Schedules are now more important than health? We were advised to go to Urgent Care if we wanted to meet a Doctor. A mom in distress could have been handled better. On the 8th day, we insisted on meeting a Doctor and thats when we got a Doctor. The Doctor immediately asked us to do a urine culture test and it tested positive for UTI. Did I mention that out of all the tests, this was the most painless and quick yielding results. We had already gone through two blood works, one x-ray, three swabs leading the 5 year old dreading a Doctor's visit. Its my belief that if the Doctor had met with us earlier, all of this drama could have been avoided. Seriously disappointed with the experience. Watch out for Rebecca at the Triage area who doesn't have the ability to empathize with parents with sick children. Quality of a business is best tested when they need to step up, instead this business passes the buck. I had even written about my experience to their survey and get a response justifying their actions.

Dr Candace Fugate and the entire staff at TPG have taken the BEST care of my son his entire life! He has had a very complicated medical history, and he has always been in the best of hands at all times. The care and trust we feel with them is beyond compare! He just had his 18th birthday :) We drive 25 minutes each way because of them! We wouldn’t go anywhere else.

We absolutely love this office and everyone at it!! There is an office close to where we live but we drive 40 minutes to come to this office because the staff is the best! They are always so accommodating and understanding of crazy schedules!

I love Dr. Niu. She’s amazing! Always takes the time to cover any questions I have.

I've been taking my daughters to Dr. Fugate for 18 years, and I drive a long way to their office because I know my kids get the best care there. Dr. Fugate, and the other doctors, nurse practitioners and other staff have always been excellent with my children and they treat each illness with all of their tools in their arsenal: medical tests, their knowledge, their experience, and logic. You can't beat this group.

I never thought that I would be writing a review like this, even less so about this practice. My three children have been seen by Dr. Fúgate since 1999. Until today, I never had a single complaint and frequently recommended the practice to friends and family members. Obviously, the practice of medicine has evolved over the past two decades and there has been practice growth and expansion. Change is to be expected but until today I always felt respected as a parent. My “mother’s intuition” was recognized and practical decisions were made about my children’s care that took into consideration the information we provided. Until today. I brought my 17 year old son in to be treated for what I knew was streptococcus. We were first swabbed by a nurse, who barely touched his throat, which was so swollen and red that he could hardly swallow. Negative. No surprise. In comes a nurse practitioner who prattled on about clinical protocols and cough drops. I ask for a second test, which the nurse practitioner does, again poorly, touching his tongue rather than the back of his throat. Again, negative and more prattling about clinical protocols. I asked to speak with our regular nurse practitioner, Dena, and I am told that she is too busy to see us but agrees 100% that there is nothing to be done for my son, who is struggling to stand, swallow or hold his head up. No attention paid to any of our input, to include my statement that our next stop will be the Emergency Room. Once in the ER, the nurse has my son actually lie down, so she can SEE his throat and get a proper sample of the pus that is covering his tonsils, remarking that the back of his throat is extremely swollen and covered with white marks. My son now has the shakes from his high fever. The ER nurse practitioner in training actually takes a history, which includes multiple back to back strep cases as well as a sibling with a current strep infection which did not test positive to rapid test but did culture positive to a different strain. She, too, remarks on the condition of his throat. Her boss, another nurse practitioner, again thoroughly examines my son, as she is concerned about an abscess. At the ER they run a mononucleosis test, something that wasn’t mentioned at the Pediatric Group or offered to us. Three years ago, my eldest son was seen twice by Dena, for fever but negative strep. At the second visit, she tested him for mononucleosis at the office and he was positive. His rapid test is again negative and he is recultured. He was given a steroid shot for the swelling, pain medication, more oral steroids and antibiotics to have available for the results of the culture. All of the treatment provided in the ER could have been, and has in the past been given, at the Pediatric Group. Instead I incurred emergency room copays and additional testing. Shame on you, Pediatric Group for running what was a truly wonderful practice into the ground. I honestly don’t know the name of the so called nurse practitioner who saw us, as she mumbled her name and gave us no paperwork. I sincerely hope that a quality review is done and that she will be more carefully monitored in the future. I am also reporting this to Cigna for their quality of care review procedures.

We have been coming here since my two-year old son was born and have had nothing but exceptional service! I choose to take my son here because I also went here as a child. They are super friendly, patient, and understanding in all of my needs and questions. Definitely recommend The Pediatric Group!

Extremely rude staff. I called to make an appointment and after taking all my personal information, I was told they dont accept one time patient. This is stealing of private information and I plan to file a complaint against them.

The staff here have provided our children with amazing care for over 12 years. We have looked to them to provide thoughtful diagnoses, referrals when needed and lots of patience with good advice. You can't go wrong with Dr. Fugate, Dina Taylor and others on the team. Highly recommended!

They have good doctors. However, their representatives are so bad. They are not polite and they have no patience. They also have problems with the billing system. They would email and call for many times asking you to pay and don’t wait for the insurance anyways. The insurance said the bill is going to be processed in 20 days but they couldn’t wait. They just call you and ask for you to pay in full amount. Thousands of emails asking for your payment, otherwise no check in for next time. No ideas why they are so hurry and don’t even want to coordinate with the insurance.
