New office is very nice. Front office staff very friendly and helpful. Brought to exam room in < 2 min by nurse, triage performed, and health history taken. Dr. came to office 2-3 min after nurse and began exam. Thorough eval and dispensed electronic prescriptions to pharmacy. Very smooth. Previous office visits have been similar experiences.

The wait is way too long every time I visit.

My husband and I both come here and have always had positive experiences. Highly recommend!

This place is horrible. I have to hound them for follow up test results and return phone calls. I met with a nurse originally. Had test results come back showing issues that correlate to the symptoms I was there for from the beginning. I finally get an appt with Dr Patel to come up with a plan for 2 more tests to confirm the original test results and they did. I then get a call from an office assistant after making numerous calls and portal messages relaying a different plan from the nurse to wait another 6 months to test again while still having the same symptoms with no treatment. I asked to speak to Dr Patel and the nurse said she would talk to her and call me back. She called back and said my symptoms could be something else(they wouldn't say what and didn't order any additional tests during the 2 subsequent blood tests to try to find out what could be wrong and have made no recommendation to do so) but both her and the Dr agreed my symptoms could be caused by our original known issue yet they refuse to treat what they now know is a problem. I asked to speak with Dr Patel last week and still no response. This place is horrible. ill update and review if they do anything. If not I'll be picking up my test results and going elsewhere and calling my insurance company to complain.

My family and I have been going to South Riding Family Medicine for years now and we love them. My family mainly sees John Phillips. He always takes his time, listens to what is the problem, provides a recommended course of action, listens to any concerns you might have about his recommendation, and finally goes over everything in depth. I would recommend SRFM to all my friends/family.

I applied for the position of Medical Receptionist in December last year (2018). I immediately got a job offer the same month. I went into the office, filled out a basic job application, and went for an interview with the employer. The employees and the employer were very nice, but when it came to following up, it felt like I was playing the waiting game. I called and emailed the employer, but they did not reply. I was very disappointed.

Dr. Gannon is awesome, I would recommend her to anyone. She provides great care to my whole family.

I love this place - The Doctor's are AMAZING Esp. Dr. Hoang and Dr. Gannon. Although I did have one very bad incident with reception where even after explaining that I needed a prescription VERY urgently, I was not given a return call from three calls of mine. This is definitely not the norm and they always get me in when I'm sick no matter what. I haven't ever had to wait more than 20 minutes.

What a horrible experience! I found this practice through a search provided by my insurance. When I called to schedule an appointment the woman on the phone was extremely unpleasant. Then when I got there (it was bit hard to find since they moved) they were still in moving mode where you could tell there was empty space and things sitting around. I understand moving. They were not very attentive to patients coming into the waiting room but I witnessed them leap to a building manager offering free lunch on one of the other floors. Again, free lunch, I get it. However, after a lengthy time with a nurse slowly keying in information about my daughter, we were left in the exam room for close to an hour! I had to open the door and look out to see what was going on. They had loud music playing from a radio on the counter and were standing around laughing and chatting. When they saw me pop my head out, I heard whispers and then a non-doctor came in. She basically read the chart, looked at my daughter's ears, nose, throat and said, virus. Not once did anyone check her temperature! I went because she had a fever for a couple days. I was furious and could not get out of there fast enough. A month later I get the invoice for a charge of $125 that says, "ESTABLISHED PATIENT OFFICE/OUTPATIENT VISIT". Unbelievable! I will NOT go back!!

STAY AWAY AND FIND ANOTHER DOCTORS OFFICE!!! Although the medical staff may be good, the receptionist is the rudist and most obnoxious person I have meet since relocating to this area. We arrived for a 6:15 appointment at 6:00 to be sure not to be late and miss the appointment. At 6:30 we asked the receptionist how much longer of a wait as they clearly have a sign stating if you have been waiting longer then 15 minutes check with receptionist. Her response was "I am not a doctor I do not know how much longer." I explained that we had a 6:15 appointment and it is now 6:30. She stated it was only 6:20, I told her that it was 6:30 and she could look at the clock behind her on their wall. She did and still argued about the time. Obviously she did not know how to read a clock! At 6:46 after 4 other patients that came in AFTER we arrived were seen, again we inquired as to how much longer to be seen. This time the receptionist stood up, put her hand in my face and told me again "I am not a doctor, they will call you whenever they want to. You need to sit down and wait.. At this point I asked for my copay back and to cancel this appointment. Again there was an arguement as she said she could not return a copay. I would have to return the next day and we need to leave. I have never had such bad customer service...Went to INOVA Fairfax, was seen in 6 minutes and diagnosed and left the hospital in under 25 minutes, shorter than my entire wait in an empty doctors office! STAY AWAY!!

If I could leave a "0" for the staff I would, they are rude and unprofessional, no one smiles. I had my physical done a couple of weeks ago, the Dr. gave me a printout with my results. I gave that to my work, but they needed something with a signature. I took the form back to the medical office to have it signed, I was charged $25 just for the doctor to sign the form. I asked the receptionist to have the doctor call me but he never did, I called back again the next day left another message and someone by the name of Kelly calls me back, I told her the situation, and also told her that I was going to take my business elsewhere, she didn't seem to care, she told me that she would give Dr. Hwang the message, he will call you if he wants. I guess they don't care about their patients, because I didn't get a call back from him. Six members of my family go to this office, I will no longer give them my business, I will also tell all of my friends who I referred to this office about my situation. I will not give my business to people who don't care about patients.

Amazing staff! Always so kind and helpful. A highly recommended them ❤️

Usually minimal wait times. Knowledgeable Doctors who really care. Friendly. They have their own Phlebotomist so you don't need to go elsewhere to have blood drawn. Have weekday after-hours and Saturday appointments! 1 block off Rt 50.

I would recommend this practice to anyone. Clean waitroom, friendly staff, acceptable wait times and good doctors and nurses. I can usually get a last minute appointment but if I can't, and I am really sick, they have walk in sick hours where they work people in. Also, I have seen many of the doctors in this practice and like them all. I do have my favorite though.

Ted Lange

I have had great care and attention from the busy staff and Doctors. I have never seen rude treatment by the staff. They draw basic labs with an outside provider right in the office. I personally see Dr Phillips and he is great at taking time to discuss all health concerns I have. I do not feel rushed.

I moved to the area of south riding not to long ago. I wanted a doctor closer to my house. I visit South Riding Family Medicine this morning and I had a horrible time. Everyone's primary physician visit should be pleasant, you should feel comfortable in the office, physician and nurses. Trust and someone who can rely on to help manage your healthcare is very important for me and my family. well not this practice... 1. I can tell the desk receptionist hated her job. But I wasn't bother by it... 2. I told the nurse practitioner that I need an advise and needed a Pap smear... She gave me a list of OB doctors... their website says “Services provided to address these areas, including mammograms, pap smears insertions IUD check- and screenings UPS and, for breast, uterine cervical and ovarian cancer. We also offer the whole spectrum of women's GYN healthcare check- including UPS and management of any health issues related” My visit was less than 20 min counting the time when the nurse took my BP and weight. I mentioned to her (NP)that I was not satisfied with the service. I aproached one of the receptionist who didn't hated her job, she seemed to understand my point of why I was going to pay for a service and co-pay when the only thing she did is provided me with a list of doctors to call. A billing lady was going to refunded me until she spoke with the NP. Which I think she was upset because moments before I told her I wasn't satisfied with her service. Also they seemed not to like minorities... I'm going back to my old family practice, is going to be little more drive but I would be treated equally....

I have been seeing Dr. John Phillips for over a year now and he has been attentive he always listens very carefully about your concerns. He is a true family practitioner.

My family and I have been going here for several years, and the staff is always wonderful, service time is prompt and very professional doctors and great hours of operation. They have gone out of their way to get my son's physical worked in for a deadline. We usually see Dr. Gannon, however she has taken a leave. I have heard that Dr. Phillips is great as well so will stay here and give him a try.

I’m a patient of Dr Patel, and she is by far the best primary care physician that I have ever had! She is very professional, good listener and her diagnosis are always spot. I have had multiple issues that were affecting my quality of life, and thanks to her I’m currently managing them and able to have a normal pain-free daily routine. I highly recommend this office as everyone from staff, nurses and physicians are excellent!

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE... I agree with most of the reviews on here. The staff at this facility are rude, insensitive and inappropriate. You should choose a facility that values its patients. The receptionists are reason enough to avoid this place. I have never been so insulted.

This practice has always been able to fit me and my family in with an appointment same day so we are never left feeling sick for longer than necessary. Very accommodating with our busy schedules as we've had to shift appointments around. We've also never had to sit in the waiting area long. Great location. Really appreciate the service. Thank you for being here!

Horrible service + bad doctors equals STAY AWAY!

Edited from a one star to three starts based on the follow-up from Dr. Hwang. Time will tell if steps were taken to correct the issues highlighted in my review. Your lack of compassion and personal follow through with patients have lost you an entire family of patients. Twice now both my husband and I have waited days for follow-up phone calls from a doctor. The first one necessary since the “patient portal” doesn’t fill necessary prescriptions and let me tell you waiting more than 2 days for antibiotics to cure a UTI is just incredible but after this last time, I’m absolutely done with this practice. My husband went in a couple days ago complaining of shin pain and they sent him to get x-rays. Seems like the correct thing to do, except the order was submitted as a knee x-ray! Upon the completion of the x-ray they indicated that his doctor would have the results later that day. By the next afternoon he was a little anxious about the results so he called the office, at which time he got the typical we’ll have a doctor call you back. Well that day turns into tomorrow afternoon and he calls back again. During that call he is told that he should go to the patient portal to access his results. Okay, that’s good for blood tests and simple results but when you’re having a leg pains you sometimes want to talk to a professional regarding the results and ask questions as necessary so being pushed off to a website that can’t answer your questions or able to explain the results to you really doesn’t cut it. When he finally does get a call back it was from the receptionist; not exactly the trained professional one might be looking for. She proceeds to tell him that nothing came up on the x-ray. Now one would think that if someone is in pain and nothing appeared on the x-ray, the doctor would refer the patient to a specialty doctor but he didn’t speak with a medical professional. By this time it has become apparent that Stone Springs Family Medicine doesn’t care about him as a patient or a person so he goes to the urgent care. The doctor there takes another x-ray and doesn’t find anything wrong but instead of just sending him on his way he refers him to an orthopedic doctor for a follow-up. Short of the long he has a growth defect that requires him to wear a brace for correction. So we are out the $15 co-pay for the Stone Springs, $75 for the urgent care, $30 for the specialty doctor, and TBD cost for x-ray. I’ve always preferred smaller practices for this exact reason, once you become too busy to call your patients back you lose the customer service that should be inherent with you job.

I'm surprised to see the bad reviews. I haven't had any issues with them for over two years. It is a busy office but the staff has always been friendly. I love Dr. Gannon - my whole family sees her. We've also seen Dr. Hwang before and he was very nice. No billing issues and I can get in pretty easily.

My husband and I have been patients at SRFM for 11 years and have always seen Dr. Phillips who, although wonderful, is moving. I have recently had a minor injury and was seen by Dr. Anu Patel. I could not have been more pleased with her thoroughness, her kindness, her attention to detail, and her overall professionalism. Looks like I've found a new doctor (but I'll always miss Dr. Phillips)!

Wait time extended so much upon arriving 10 mins late.

Bill Reames

Whoever posted this is the worst doctor's office is clearly a disgruntled employee or a totally miserable person. I have been a patient of Dr. Phillips for many years.... If my appointment is at 8:15, he's in the room at 8:14... Never late, respectful of time, and first class service all the way. I highly recommend this practice and, of course, I'm biased towards Dr. Phillips but I've met all the others and they are all outstanding.

Just Me

Dr. Anu Patel is a wonderful physician at this office but the nursing and office staff are horrible. I provided the office with my infant's immunization & previous records in person and no one even bothered to review them. I asked for a follow up call to determine if my child was missing any immunizations and never heard anything for months. I called to speak to the office manager and was placed on hold for over 30 minutes, hung up & called back the office was "closed for lunch." Haven't received a call back from a nurse or manager regarding my infants medical record's or compliant. Negligence at it's finest.
