Not caring at all !! Had to switch my daughter to a different pediatrician because they brushed all of my problems and concerns off. Don’t waste you time here

We have been taking our two sons to Dr Katz for the past 20 years. He is a fantastic doctor who is great with children and parents. He always takes the time to listen to and answer any questions you might have. I've never had any problems getting an appt with him whether it's for a yearly physical or an emergency visit. I have also left a couple of messages on their nurses voicemail and have always been called back the same day. I would highly recommend this practice.

Dr. Johnson is the best. We stayed with her for 5 years now and she is helping us since my two boys were born. We love her very much. She is very experienced and patient to hear all my concerns. Unfortunately we moved this summer and have to find a nearby pediatrics. We'll definitely miss her.

10 years of good relationship between doctors, nurses and receptionist means anything to them. If you dare to complain only once about an irregular act of the omnipotent and untouchable Dr. Katz's nurses, they can hammer you down. Please bare with me, on 12/17/17 my 5 years child developed mild fever, he had cough and I was giving his cough medicine, I give him Motrin and he was fine the rest of the night. Knowing is no sense to make an appointment with them because they told me many times that my child has to be at least for 3 days with fever to diagnosed the cause. I was planning to make the sick appointment on Monday, to those who are not familiar with the "sick appointment" is a same day service appointment for your sick child if you told the receptionist that, any doctor available can see your child the same day. Well the fever of my child was unusual on 12/18/17 in the morning, My mother call me, Motrin was wearing off before anticipated, and I know something wasn't right, so around 12:45 pm went to pick up my child and try to call them to make a "sick appointment" but i was driving so I arrive there before to go through the phone call like around 1:00pm. And find out that they were having a Christmas party inside the office and they will attend people at 1:30 so I wait there and after a couple of minutes others parents arrive and while we were waiting they seem very concerned about if they children will be attended without any kind of appointment, because they were calling and no one pick up the phone. So I was first on line and when we get in I told the receptionist the reason of my visit, but she said without any kind of appointment no one will see my child, no one gets service without any kind of appointment so she ask me to wait and a the nurse named Aura told me basically the same thing, but after she finished with me, she talked to the others parents that came after me and let them in without any appointment. I find this very unfair, and let them know that you have this unbreakable rule that no one gets attended without any kind of appointment and there for you are let them in. I told them that I was going to let Dr. Katz know about this but since they cover well one to the other, I had no option to make an appointment with him next day 12/19/17 I left that place took my child home and call to the VA hospital emergency room, and explain my child fever situation come back but the medicine wasn't lasting what should and I don't what to give him more Motrin before the right dosage time to the operator, and she said that I need to take him to his pediatrician, no need to tell you that I explain how they denied to see my child without any appointment, so they told me to bring him in if the fever rise an unusual way, so it happened again and took him there at 6pm there stay there waiting for so long once they see my child and run the test, they told me he has pneumonia and provide me with prescription went home at 3: 30 am. We were tired for all the running and I woke up at 10 am and miss my appointment with Dr. Katz by 9:00 am,knowing that missing an appointment with them will cost me the missing appointment fee. I let things like that and by recommendation of the emergency team at the hospital I call them on 12/20/17 to make a follow up appointment, Dr. Katz operators want to know what happened and I let them know, they told me to bring my child on the same day, I couldn't not lose another day from my job. So we set it up an appointment at 9 am with another doctor for 12/22/17 she was very nice and after she ask how my child ended up in emergency I told her about that unfair situation on 12/18/ 17 she told me that someone will contact me to check on this situation. But instead I got home today and find a letter from their office we're they were getting ride of my child and siblings for missing an appointment on the day of my child just got released from the ER. That's how the kick you out if you dare to complain against the mighty Dr. Katz's nurses.

I would rate this place as fair. My wife has been going here with our baby, and she likes how they treat our newborn daughter. But the problem is calling. Their phone service is horrible. They almost never answer. When it seemed impossible to get a hold of a person, I have left a message asking a question. When they called back it went to my voicemail. They left a message (a kind of rude one) that just said they were calling me back because I called and then hung up. So, I had to start the process over again. But at least they called me back then I guess. For my wife, they've only called back for a couple calls out of the few times she's called. We are new parents; we get a little worried sometimes. I want a person to talk to. We don't call 10 times a day, just once every so often. Today, my wife called for 45 minutes before she could get someone to ask whether or not she should bring our daughter in. And when she got someone, they said to leave a message describing the problem and she will get a call back. They transferred her to a busy line. So, she had to hang up and call again. And remember, they haven't always called her back. I will say that if you are a seasoned parent, or have little need to call your pediatrician and only go for expected visits or checkups, they are good. But if you're going to be a new parent or one with questions outside of scheduled visits, I personally would not recommend this office. We will start looking for a new pediatric office, which is too bad because we really like our actual pediatrician. ***Update*** So, there are two offices, one in Manassas and one in Haymarket, where our child goes. And we've discovered that if we call the Haymarket office directly, they are much nicer and more curtious. Since my wife found this out, we're going to stay with them, because now we deal solely with the Haymarket office. So, it's a much more pleasant experience. So, I'm changing my rating from 2 stars to 3. It would be four, if Haymarket wasn't affiliated with the Manassas office. So, I average it to 3. But I would now recommend it with the caveat of try to deal only with the Haymarket location.

Staff is friendly, and we’ve always gotten what we needed from our appointments here.

I have been taking my kids to Pediatricare for the past 3 years and have had no problems at all. The staff is always really nice to us. When we call with a question, we leave a voicemail, and they always call us back the same day. My son is intact and they have never suggested that we retract him because you're not supposed to. We see Dr. Anderson and she is just wonderful. Very friendly to my kids and can always make them smile! I hate seeing that others have had bad experiences!

Been going there for 5 years since my oldest son was born and out of nowhere I get a call saying that they wont longer see my kids because we missed 3 appointments during a year did they even ask why I missed those appointments!!!! Not they just told me we wont see you kids because missed appointments and the worse part is that they know we missed one of those appointments because we were involved in a car accident a day before I even call then to let then know about it, and they even count my twins as two missed appointments because they are twins why??? same day appointment same doctor same room when I take my twins for an appointment is in the same room same doctor same nurse why are they counting my twin as two appointment.... what a shame I’m soooo disappointed why didn’t at least gave me a warning or something my kids are going to miss dr katzs I hope he was not involved in this

Dr. Katz and his nurse, Karina, are absolutely wonderful. As a new mother, they both make me feel at ease that my child is receiving the best care. Dr. Katz is very knowledgeable and I never feel rushed during my appointments. I highly recommend this practice to any parent searching or looking for a change. Also, Dr. Giancola is great as well.

The Beth

They are so good! Always on time, staff is always so friendly, helpful and professional in both locations and they are there for emergencies, what more can a parent ask for?

I have 5 years With Dr.Johnson and my 4 kids love her but the nurses and the billing supervisor are terrible rude. My son been with fever for 3 days and I call to make an appointment with Dr. Johnson and they give me the appointment but my son get worst so I decided to take him to Fairfax E. R. Same day so I miss the appointment with them. I was surprises that they send me a Letter telling me that they were not longer be able to see my 4 kids because I missed the appointment. I call them and explain why I miss the appointment but the person in charges of billing said that they can see my kid no more. So For that reason I don’t recommend them

I like the doctors, but when the office hours state they are open at 8.30 and I have been calling for the past half hour and no one picks up this is piss poor service and uncalled for.

Do not take your children here please. It's dirty , the front desk people are rude. All this place cares about is your insurance. I have met with about 10 different nurses and 1 or 2 doctors in the last 8 months. If your child is not bleeding they don't care. Switching ASAP!

Let me share the letter I just had to email the office manager because “she is always in and out and cannot tell you when you can talk to her” Holly Harrington, I have been trying to get my two children’s patient records since Monday. I have faxed the form and email the form on Monday. Your office informed me that they made copies of the records and scan send to a third party on Tuesday. However when I called the company with the ID numbers your office provided me the company told me they have not received any requests. I asked that the records are release to me , since your office claimed to have copied and scan sent them to this third party on Tuesday so you obviously have them, but she told me I cannot do that. My son has been coughing for two and a half months and I considered unacceptable to have to wait 10 business days for my new pediatrician to evaluate my son’s chart to see what’s going on with him? Do you have children? If not, I’m sure you do have a heart, is your heart telling you this is acceptable? Your office was late to fax paperwork to my son’s school for his albuterol treatment when Dr Johnson was thinking he has PNEUMONIA! So are you incompetent, irresponsible or just don’t really care? One of your front office employee mistreated me about me not being able to fill update on my daughter’s record when I told her nothing had changed and I was holding because she was less than a year old, had pneumonia and could breath. Yet, with my daughter crying, she wanted me to put her done to make sure I fill a form that said her Name, Ssn and insurance hasn’t change! The nurse practitioner that day apologized profusely. So again, is this office incompetent, irresponsible or do you just don’t care? Please call me ASAP and tell me when can I pick up my children’s records.

The doctor was very impatient she want me to talk faster about why my kid is there she is cliking the pencil click on and on while im talking. -whats that telling me?.- " You and your child are not important". She even left the room without me finish explaining and they were not busy because she even out and chat to her co-worker. Im not bringing any of my kids here again I will not recomended this place.

We haven't seen a doctor yet, but the nurses we've met are very good with my child (3yo). We made a same-day appointment without any trouble, and the wait times are reasonably low. The nurses seemed to be willing to work with us on a personal level instead of trying to rush us out after the appointment. 2015 update: The AAP's hygiene guidance on intact males is to "leave it alone". A doctor at Pediatricare has recommended otherwise for my year old son, and an NP went so far as to suggest that the foreskin needed to be fully retracted every day for cleaning. This is dangerous advice and goes against the AAP's guidance.

This pediatrician’s office has really gone down hill. They do not care for their patients hardly at all and just swoop in and out of each room as quickly as humanly possible. I have been taking my kids there for 4 years, but my youngest who is just now 2, gets sick A LOT! He has been fairly constantly misdiagnosed here because of how little time they dedicate to their patients. I would say it’s worse than most urgent cares. Needless to say after my son was diagnosed with a “virus” when he had a SEVERE rash and joint swelling, I won’t be back. We ended up in the pediatric hospital that night due to how severe his pain and swelling was.

I would give it a 0 if I could worst dr office hands down

DO NOT get your baby’s ears pierced here!!!. I have never in my life gone out of way to write something like this on Yelp or complain. Long story short, Dr. G came in the room and was out less than 5 minutes. He marked my daughter’s ears with thick permanent marker and pierced both ears in less than one minute, and was out the door. He’s a doctor, so I just figured he knew what he was doing. We get home and notice how BADLY he pierced them. One piercing was almost up to her cartilage, while the other ear was in a completely different spot. We took them out immediately and got them repierced by professionals. It has been a few weeks and the PERMANENT MARKER got into the wound and closed up. The permanent marker ink is STILL present in her wound. It has NOT gone away, so it’s like this Doctor tattooed my daughter’s ears. I have called the office over and over and over again, left voicemails, NO response. DO NOT get ears pierced here!

Don't take your kids to this facility!!! Not only do they not take your concerns seriously, they don't allow for missed appointments even if you call and cancel. The nurse practitioners are the only ones that see your children and for a sick visit your child has to have a fever of over 104. I'm very disappointed in this practice and the care they provide there. In my opinion they do not care about your children at all!!

Tracy Sterling

We love the Haymarket location and we've seen a variety of the pediatricians on staff. Very clean and pleasant experience. Advice line always returns calls and we always get well-check appts within one week.

Mary Spicer

Dr Katz is just the best. He is kind, empathetic and extremely thorough and knowledgeable. He knows the latest in medicine developments but also has experience and wisdom that can’t be matched. Wouldn’t go to any other doctor! He genuinely cares about my children and I’m so thankful!

Terrible service.. I highly disliked it.

They took over an hour for us to get a flu shot, gave no good reason why it took so long and kept taking back other people to get flu shots who had arrived at least 20-30 minutes after we did. I don't think we would have even gotten one if I hadn't asked at the desk twice to check why it was taking so long.

Marisol Aguiar

I am very upset. I was told to take certain forms to get filled out by the doctors. I took the forms told the front desk what needed to be done. I was willing to wait and mail them myself. I was told they would fill everything out and mail them. I was never told it would cost me. She insisted they'd mail it out, I thought wow how nice of them. To my surprise I receive a bill for it. What!!!!!! How dare they trick me that way. I'm taking my kids out of there. Aside from this they never give me a proper treatment for my kids when they need it. All they say is "oh it'll go away on its own" No it doesn't. So many other things I don't agree with. Number one thing is the front staff sucks big time. They need to better prepare themselves before talking with patients. I'm not happy at all with them. I'm out.

Elizabeth Wilkins-McKee

We have been going to Pediatric Care since my son was a little guy and he is now 8. I've had a really good experience here with all the staff. Both my kids, ages 8 and 13, have a good relationship with Dr. T and see him and the staff as part of "their team" to take care of their bodies and minds. Some specifics: We've been called back promptly. We've had to use the after hours advice line and had excellent follow-up. When we've needed referrals or paperwork the office has it to us quickly. As a parent I feel understood and have complete trust in the parent/child/pediatrician team approach that we experience at PediatricCare. (Thank you Dr. T and all of you. We wouldn't be where we are without you.)

Ab Ka

Charging me 45$ late cancellation fee!!! ?? WTF

Jaimee Lee

Love Dr Tamandong but everything else about the practice is absolutely terrible. The nurses are uncaring and rude, and every time I have taken my infant in they tell me to undress her and then we end up waiting 30-45 minutes for anyone to see us meanwhile my baby is freezing in their 70 degree office. Client service is horrendous. I would recommend staying far far away from this office.

Stephen Davies

Dr.Tamondong has been my sons pediatrian for the last 3 1/2 years. I was SO sad when my new insurance wouldn’t be covered by Northen Virginia pediatrics. We tried a new practice/ bull run family practice and they were awful! I went back to NVP to find out how much it would be if i payed out of pocket to see Dr.T. I found out they use my new insurance now!!!! I will neverrrrr go to anyone else! Dr.T all the way!!
